What's going on? How's it going up you Friday? Welcome to Friday nights with Phil. Happy Friday. It's
not a clock PM. Dave and I were talking earlier. Dave wants to have it earlier. I don't want to have
it later, but I think it would be better later. But we'll talk about that when he comes up. Anyway,
screw that guy. Okay, here we go. Game plan. Hello. What's up? I lost my white. So I got the yellow
Dave. We've went over the Dave thing. Dave's in Montreal. Or as Josh shares. Morale.
So I know that's bad. We'll ask him about that was how that is going. I'm going to go see him
on Sunday. We're going to do a little card show, a little lunchy poo, and then I have to come back to
Ottawa. Mail my fill. Oh, I mail. I have mail. I have I have three. They look pretty good. I hate to
judge. I hate to judge a package by its thickness, but I'm going to these look juicy. What's my
camera being weird? Oh, maybe it's the microphone there. Is that better? I don't know. Okay. Yeah,
it's doing a thing. I don't know. I can't help. I'm sorry. Okay. So we got that. I have conflict. I
need help from the chat. I got two big binders. Like here. Watch, look right here. See?
Yeah. See, there's these are binders. I got binders here. I need some help. I got my Jake
Sanderson binder. I got my Connor McDavid. We might get into the Brady Kachak binders. I don't
know. Little stressed out. I think I got a good plan with my McDavid's. I don't have a plan for
my Sanderson's. I'm emotional. I'm vulnerable. You will see that. I'm always kind of vulnerable
and emotional, but anyway, okay. Yeah. Topics. Oh, I have four little silly topics. And we also
have Alex Toronto mega stuff. No. We also have Toronto mega collector. One of one collector.
Alex. Good enough. All right. Dave, you good? Alex, you can wait for a second. What's up, brother?
What's up? How you doing? What's going on? It's happening. Just, you know, chilling in Montreal.
So I'm on. Montreal. I've never seen you look so handsome before. It's amazing. What's
metropolitan internet can do for you? What good internet does to a to a webcam. It's not
too crazy. Victoria lives right in Toronto. Her upload is four megabytes. It's the fastest
upload. It's the upload. It's not that download. You like my, you like my background, my background
girls? Well, did you find out? So I see Monroe? Is that I that's either a little bit or Audrey
Hepburn. I can't tell from this angle. It's a queen. I think it's Queen Elizabeth, right?
Oh, right. Yeah. So this is how we go, Audrey. This is Darcy's, this is Darcy's daughter's
room that I hijacked. So really looks like a photo cop here to the left. I get a feminine touch
to my room. Yeah. Oh, Dave. Yeah. Yeah. You got a question here. Are you catching a Habs game?
I think I know the answer, but maybe the chat doesn't. We are, we are trying to go to Habs
game. So I found out at the same time, Grant, you know, from two of these parts, you know,
that. Yeah. Yeah. So he is here because he bought the Demadoff gold outburst from what for
four. Oh, he bought it. Oh, that makes so much sense. You will Josh called me today. He's like,
Hey, we got to talk to Grant about the gold outburst sale. I was like, I'm kind of busy. I'm
sure it's fine. I'm like, that's kind of weird. I didn't know he's the guy that bought it.
Yeah, he bought it. So I didn't know that he was up here until I saw that he bought it. And
then I'm like, wait, how long are you up here? And then he told me and then he texted me and he's
like, are you going to the Habs game? And I'm like, well, I think he's what I am. So yeah.
So we're working on getting tickets and going to the Habs game tomorrow. So you didn't pick him
up yet. What's that? You didn't pick him up yet. No, he's here. He's here with a buddy. He's
staying with the buddy. He's got a few collection. He bought a couple of collections while he was
up here. And I think he's looking at another one tomorrow. I think he's actually, we're going to
meet him at the show because that show that you're coming up for. It's Saturday and Sunday.
Okay. So I think we're going to meet him at the show tomorrow and go get some food. And then
I'll meet you guys as early as possible on Sunday and then do lunch. I get a rip home. Yeah. Yeah.
You got you got a record. So you got. Okay. Well, let's let's chat. I'm sorry.
I ignored you. Well, let's bring Alex on and then you guys can chat and then I'll hit up the chat
chat. All right. Oh, and I got to go. I got to go skiing for the first time in Canada.
How awesome pulling you on. How was it? Hey, Alex. How was he? Alex? How was he?
It was icy because if you're not aware, they had a giant ice storm couple of days ago. Yeah.
And so there was a nice layer of about one to two inches of snow on top of ice.
So it was like actually kind of dangerous because you look like your skiing on like nice snow.
Yeah. And then you're on ice and you're just like. Do you ski? I snowboard actually. So
good talk. I'll hit the chat. So what's different about snowboarding than skiing? Tell Dave,
Hey, 717. Well, I don't board it too. And I learned skiing first day when I was younger and then
I tried snowboarding and I kind of that kind of took over. I don't know. They're both
pretty fun to be honest, but they're both. Yeah, they're both fun. I've been skiing since I was
three years old. So skiing's just kind of my passion. And now that I'm so busy and I only go like
once a year or twice a year that I'm just I haven't actually snowboarded in in probably 15 years.
So yeah, I used to go more more often, but the past couple of years, not as much just to
you know, busy with stuff. But it's always fun to get out. But yeah, I know you mean the conditions
make a big big difference. If it's icy, it's sometimes a little weary, you know.
Yeah, I went down hard, pretty hard once, like completely ejected from my skis because I just
went to turn and there was there was nothing but ice underneath and I just and I was going pretty
fast. Yeah. So I just did like the full sprawl like face down on the ground and my skis just
went flat. Not a cycle. Sorry, I don't want I don't want injury on the guy.
Oh, Emily, how do you feel? I don't I don't feel good. I don't wish a arm of on him.
It's not Danny. One of my fantasy leagues, AM34 is in my fantasy team. So that really sucked for me.
Super. All right, I can't keep up anymore. Okay, boys. Okay, I don't want to talk with skiing
anymore. Okay, good. So, Davey, having fun, I'm not sure, although is it good? Like the
the cuisine, the the atmosphere, the women are beautiful. I went through
what's the fake house, Darcy? Five game. So we went to the pig and I've been to the
keg twice. I've been drawn in Toronto. And I noticed there is a theme at the keg and that is the
waitresses are extremely good looking. Yeah, some of them. It depends depends who the proprietor is.
The proprietors don't care. Some do. Yeah, that's good. Not just much else in incredible.
Even the men are beautiful. Like the men are handsome. Everyone is such an English melting pot.
French. Yes. So that was that was the thing I was going to mention. When we were on the
lifts today, everybody speaks French. And it's kind of crazy because they go back and forth between
English and French. So in the same sentence, they say half of it in French and half of it in
English. So I was like half of the segments and putting things together. It's a long way.
That's what they call it. English and French mix. That's why people from France don't like
Parisian French. It's beautiful. Like my grandmother spoke Parisian French. And she was like
disgusted going to the grocery store. She'd call it lazy talking. I'm like, well, I think that's
how language evolves. It dialects and culture and shit changes, man. I have my I have my
interpreter. Darcy's with me. So he he's got a friend. So he can he can help me. Do you speak
French, Alex? No. No, you're from Ontario. Yeah, you guys know, unless you're from Ottawa.
You know, right, great wine. And then we'll try it again. All right. You got to say hi to Darcy,
real quick. Hi Darcy. How's it going? What's up, dude? It's going on. Look at the flow there.
All my friends have beautiful hair. It's amazing. You know what? You got to switch it up every
once in a while. I tell. I agree. I got long hair. I've never seen it with long hair like this.
Oh, it's good. Look. Good. Very handsome. I'm excited to see you on Sunday. Yeah, see you on
Sunday, man. It'll be awesome. Bring us to I want a good lunch. I don't want like day. I don't
want five guys. I want a good good cuisine. Darcy knows the spots. That's why I'm asking them.
Yeah. Yeah. That's good. Good lunch. We'll feed you. We'll make sure you're fed. Yeah,
that's very grand together. Okay, little bit, little bit. Right on. Yes, sir.
Okay, we got to get into some cards here, boys. We got to get, oh, I made a really fun game.
I went to both of your eBay accounts and I picked all the, I picked, I selected cards from both
of your. Oh, God. I shouldn't have said this now because then these assholes in the
chattel go to there. Oh, right. Yeah. Okay, never mind. I didn't do that. Shit. Okay,
we're doing the game right now. No, no, I don't want you to do my comp. See, I want to do my comp.
I'm not. I'm not. I'm just showing you. I brought your box. You're a prick. You know,
if I see it, I'll want to do it. No, I'm not doing it. I bet you're going to say I'm a prick
because you're like, did you bring my box? And I was like, oh, I forgot. And you were so mad
for a second. You know what? Let me, let me have me time then. Okay. So you know what?
I'll do it this way. I'm going to have let, I want to do what is this? I don't even know what
that is. Oh, God. Things are changing. Okay. Okay. I want to talk about my cards and I need help
from the chat. I'm modifying things, the expose coming up. So I'd like to. Quick question. Yeah.
It's big. Those were at the live or dead. No, he's fine. Okay. He's fine. I was home all day.
Today's fine. The out my ears off. Okay. So I'll go through my mic. David's first.
Is it better? Okay. Here. I'll go through my mic.
So you see me? Yes. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Cool. You wouldn't believe what you're stacked on right now.
Okay. So these big, you got to. Okay. Well, my cat wasn't here before. Okay. I have a question
for you as you're going through this. Yeah. So is this because you really want to collect
shaffer and you feel like you can by moving your McDavid's? Yes. Okay. But I'm not moving my
McDavid's if he doesn't do good in the playoffs. So this is also I will sell the shit out of this
blender every card if McDavid wins a Stanley Cup. I'm not good on timing. I can't read the
chat. I'm not reading. I'll read it after. If you guys maybe can say, but so this is okay.
Oh, God. The chat's just a perfect pair. So you're good. This is a perfect.
Now I know I don't have a good track record with my walk, but I'm telling you this is perfect.
This will get a 10. And if it doesn't, I'll play this to I'll play the game. Anyway,
whatever. You all know what I'm saying. So should I grade this? I think yes.
Yeah. If you're going to sell it, then yes, you grade it. Agreed.
Because even if you get a nine, what it costs you 25 bucks, big whoop, right?
You get way more money. So it's worth the 25 bucks to grade it for short grade it.
Alex, what do you think? Yeah. Well, you started off the conversation by saying,
you're going to sell the whole binder if he does well. So based on that, then yes,
you definitely should grade it. But okay. No, I agree with Dave. Even if it gets a nine,
it's it's worthwhile, I think. I would probably I would probably grade all four of those cards
that are sitting in there. What really? Yes. If those other cards look good and that the
animations grade really, really well because of the canvas cards, they do. They're like 90 percent
certain you're going to get a 10 on that on that animation. So if you're going to sell that
animation, definitely grade that animation before you sell it. It's most likely going to be a 10.
Is the chat agreeing? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I'll be I'll be I paid a thousand even for this.
1000 on the dot. I don't remember what I paid for this. I paid 3,200 for this. I know I overpaid
but I traded about two grand of that. I don't think you overpaid for that. I feel I did. I don't
remember what I paid for this. I do. I love these cards. But I I want to collect a New York
Islander. I love the colors. I love the history. I love how my buddy Riley collect. You guys see me?
Yeah. Yeah. I love I love how my buddy Riley collects bossy. I love how I collect Deon. I need
an Islander and I think Schaefer would be it. I think I could fetch some pretty good coin for
this shit, right? I think so. Do you know what the pop reports are? You should look into that too.
I do not know. I do not know. Feel free to look for me. Yeah. If it's if it's low when you get
something you know that's clean then it could yeah. Even better. This is a shame. I love these
cards. No one gives a shit. These exclusives. I love these star rookies. Sorry, Biggs. Just one
second. I love these cards. They cost me a pretty penny. It's for me. Yeah. It's an impact
exclusive. De Blunt. You and I bought this for $50. Now the De Blunt would be so much better and
highly sought after if there were 35 point cards. I really believe that. They're too thick.
Thick does not mean better. I constantly take Billy always says, well, it's a thick card. Of course
it's good. Why why one does not a good card does not have to be thick. That my opinion. I don't
disagree with that. Yeah. Thank you. And I love the so the so now we're now this is like the giant
tiger collection, right? Like I love these cards because I love to collect. You know,
right, but none of them are very valuable. No, no, no, they're not valuable cards, but it looks
badass. Come on. You got to say this looks like kickass man. Do you look at cards? Yeah, I do.
But look at this. I know the light. I'm sorry. I don't care. So Phyllis, you're well to determine which
ones to keep and which ones to sell. Is that is that on the next binder? I just got distracted. I guess.
That's got to be worth something. Well, yeah, that one's really nice. That's a good. That's a good
thing. That's a little vipricated tail there. Can you buy that for like 700? No more questions.
You should grade that one too, Phil. Yeah, you're kind. It's a can of it. Like they are that's
kind of reason. That's probably if it's if it's clean, then yeah, of course. Yeah, and you already
took it out of the the one touch it came in. So you might as well grade it. Yeah. Okay, so this
this is where I'm emotional. I love love Jake Sanderson. I'm not kidding. I wait. I have a question
about your other binder first before you go to Jake Sanderson. Sorry. I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. I'm
rushy. I'm sorry. So here's my question. So if you're going to use the funds from this to buy
into Matthew Shafer over this summer, would you just be moving maybe those top four cards and then
just keep the rest because you could do that because the rest of your binder, you're not getting a
ton of money for it anyways. No, I don't want to look at. No, no, no, I don't want to look at it.
Completely out. It's like I don't I'm not I don't like half measures. Oh, come on, you can tell
my personality. It's all in or nothing. What if you got to make David drawer with just cool
make David inserts that aren't very valuable. You have to sell everything.
I feel I would. Yeah, because I get annoyed and in the privacy of my home, it's like, you know,
I'm in a corner. I'm just going through cards. I'm like, what is this shit in here? And I get
really upset at wrapping the last of the ground and I throw it. Okay. So yeah, move everything.
What is one binder? Have to replace another binder. Why can't you just add a fresh
shape for binder? Because well, I got because I'm a single parent.
I have a binder. Yeah, I've spent I've spent thousands of dollars on cards almost every year.
Like every I've spent money on hockey cards every year of my life ever since I've had a revenue
stream. I've always spent 10 to 20% of everything I've ever owned on hockey cards, whether I've been
public, like I the most public I've ever been now. Even when I collected privately, like where are
you going? I'll be there in 20 minutes, you know, why? Because I'm going to the card store, but
I didn't talk about it. It's just my thing, you know, so I've always spent money. I'm kind of
tired of it. Like I need I filled my quota. Like I, you know, I need to make more money for
fill right now. I have good cards. I'm still buying cards. I just I've gone ham a little bit,
you know, it doesn't hurt to use a existing collection to try and. Yeah. And I'm not
marrying to this. So like this isn't my Alfred's in collection. Like I'd be crying right now,
right? Like there's a big difference. I have I this, this for I do love. I love when you open
this. And then I do love. I love this. I love this. I love this binder. But I just love
you. If you if you if you ever wanted to reacquire that binder, I think the only one you'd have
difficulty with is maybe the red outbursts. So if that's a good point, you know, just of mind,
a young guy you can go buy and sell any day of the week. That's probably is too hard to find.
But the red outbursts probably the tough one, but it'll yield you a nice shaker. So
agreed. Yeah. So Jake Sanderson, I am loyal to I do love and I'm going to be very simple,
very honest of one thing I I'm not collecting cards of new hockey like Matthew Shafer's autograph
is absolute dog shit. I'm not interested in collecting Matthew Shafer autos. I'm not. That's
why I love those McDavid's why McDavid's an easy collect because his auto is great. I do so
it's not a big deal to me. Like if I if I keep those McDavid's the rest of my life and I just keep
building a McDavid collection, that's that's a win. I'm happy. I'm super happy. I don't like
Matthew Shafer's autograph. I hate it. And I hate Jake Sanderson's autograph. What is that shit?
What's it shit? And it's not their fault. I'm being aggressive, but it's not their fault.
What a card though. Like I love this card. I have no idea what this cost me. I have no idea what
this would fetch. It's a staple in any Jake Sanderson's collection. I would let this go in a heartbeat
for the right price, right? It's not that expensive of a card. Looks like a Zoro autograph. Yeah. It is.
So then I have I love I love these cards. I'm not like these aren't going to fetch a lot, right?
I'm not I don't need advice on this shit. Okay. Right. Um, like okay, you got seismic gold.
I call it technical green. I don't really need. Like look, I I love the look of these cards.
OPG premier. Look at that guys. That's beautiful. You know, and they're not spending. They're not
spending at all. But here we get going, right? This cost me a thousand dollars. I hate it. I hate
this card so much. I bought it because I felt like I had to. Yep. And you know, I mean,
it's a nice card, but I don't like it. I don't care. His auto's shit. It just does nothing for me,
but it's a block future watch, bro. It's a black future. What are you doing? So do you want to
do you want to keep his inserts and just sell his autos? Or do you feel like if you start selling
his autos, you have to sell the whole thing. I do. I do feel that way. I do. Like I don't like
with this binder. I'm a weaker man. I'm a weaker man. If I get rid of this and this and this and
this and this. And then. So to me, it sounds like it's like an ego thing. It's like. Look,
so I know I could. I know. I know. Like I love this card, but kind of not really.
Like so I'd rather that there's no autograph in this card cost me less. You know,
yeah, I don't give a shit about that. Oh God, that's beautiful. Look at that. Yeah, that's
really nice. But I don't like I think I should sell this. But am I a weaker Jake Sanderson
collector? If I do, I am, right? I don't know what I'm asking. If you feel more on the set,
like, you know, if you don't want autos, right, like get rid of all the SP authentic stuff,
but keep all the platinum stuff, maybe, you know, that are non-autos, stuff like that.
Yeah, but I hate orange checkers and pilot pixels. That's a good suggestion though.
So here's the thing though. I got two young guns. What I've noticed with you is you really
value the look of an autograph, correct? Yeah. Like another reason why all the sudden you like
Marcel Dionne and Gila Flores. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So there's nothing wrong with moving the
auto versions, especially because some of those auto cards can fetch you good money to go after,
you know, some shaper stuff. Yeah. So my suggestion would be first move the autos,
leave all the inserts and all the other cards and then sit on it for a while before you make another
decision. Yeah, you're acetate, you're acetate, you know, young guns. Those are hard to get back.
I know. You saw, you didn't see them. I didn't think you saw them. Yeah, they're right there.
Oh, those are really those you're not going to like get those back without a fight. And so,
you know, you can sit on that for a while and see how you like your Jake Sanderson binder without
autographs in it because obviously the autographs are really powerful. Yeah, look, I got some other
ones here. They're just sticking around, you know, I got, you know, that's a nice one. Yeah,
I got that. Like I don't give a shit about this.
Well, you can, that sounds like an easy answer if that's how you feel. Also, I know you're a
multiple guy, Phil, but like another, another low hanging fruit, maybe, you know,
fell one of one of the extras, right? Do you need to acetate young guns?
Oh, yes. Oh, no, no, he does. Yes, yes, I do.
Yeah, Phil would take every single one. Yeah, if it was an opportunity, like I would get,
like I don't know, I feel very, you want to know what I'm stuck on this shit because everybody
laughed at me. I didn't, but I've only spent one one that over $1,000 on all eight or nine of these.
And everyone's like, yeah, Jake Sanderson, whatever. Even a guy at the Expo, he had it for 700.
I was like, would you take six? He's like, bro, we're not even open. I'm staying at seven. I'm like,
okay, he's saving some like, whatever. Yeah, but why one of these for $700 at the Expo? It's crazy.
But the auto is shit. You know, so what do I do with my cup cards? I'm a big cup guy.
Like I'm, I don't know. A lot of it, Phil, is a personal preference. Like I look at what you're
showing here and like I would keep the cup stuff over the other stuff personally.
Mm-hmm. Oh, it comes down to which one you like them.
Yeah. You also, I just keep coming back to it. That's the problem. I just keep coming back to my
Sanderson and my McDavid binders, not my Brady's, but my Sanderson and McDavid binder. I keep
coming back to it. So I just wanted to talk about it. I don't know. You also don't have to move
everything at once too. Like say you're like, I hit his auto. There's a few cards. Like, so for
instance, there was like the future watch auto, the, the black future watch auto where you're like,
this card does nothing for me. I hate it. The cup, you know, limited patch auto is out of 24.
Those you still have like feelings for. So maybe hold onto those and sell. Yeah. So you like
the cup cards better. So sell the future watch auto and keep the cup cards for a while. You don't,
you're not like a true or a not true collector because that's how I feel though. I feel like
I'm not like, you're not really like, you know, it's like, well, I get, it's like I'm imposter syndrome.
Okay. Right. I get DM'd all the time for Robotaic cards. You know, everyone knows that I collect
Robotaic. So people message me. There's so many Robotaic cards that I do not have. And
I only go after the ones that I freaking love. And there's so many cool ones or nice ones.
But unless I super love the card, I'm not going to spend the money on it. So there's tons and tons
of Robotaic patch auto cards. I don't have and I don't care to have. So I agree with Dave. There's,
there's 20 sets that come out a year, right? Like you can't buy every card from every set.
You're not going to like every design from every set. So you might as well folks on the ones that
you actually like, right? Yeah. And you like those cup cards. So don't move the cup cards.
I really like them. Just move the cards that don't do anything for you. They're, I mean, okay.
So I can still, I can still be a lieutenant and TLBG, right? So you know Jake Sanderson collector,
101 Jake Sanderson. Right. Okay. So he recently moved a bunch of his Jake Sanderson cards because
he was working on purchasing something bigger. I'm not sure what it was. But the point of me saying
that is he moved those cards so he can move up into a bigger card. He's not any less of a Jake
Sanderson collector because he moved off of some of his Jake Sanderson. I think he is true. I do.
I hear the minor. I feel sorry. He was using it to get into a bigger card.
He was using it to get in a bigger card. I want to know what card that was. It doesn't have to be
like an all or nothing thing. You can find a middle ground. Yeah. I don't go after every robot
tie card. There's, there's no way I do not have the energy for that. And I don't even like
80% of the designs. Or I have a card that I'm like, well, I have a card that's very similar to
that. And I don't really need this one too. I'm good. I'm good when I know exactly what I want.
That's a particular statement, obviously. It's what I'm always on the fence. Like I love my set.
You know what's happening? I'm trying not to be emotionally blindly loyal to my hockey team,
right? They make me so mad and so happy, right? So it's like, I don't collect any stooots all
and I love it because I can scream and love all with no nothing, right? Yelling at Brady's
a bit harder, but I yell at him a lot. I yell at Shane Pinto all the time. And I don't yell at
Jake Sanderson a lot, right? Because I love the guy. Okay. Say two things. One. Yeah.
Yeah. In the last while now, I've started focusing significantly less on leaves. And I've been
significantly happier collecting because it's not tied to the train wreck of a team.
And also, I've moved a lot of PC cards over the years thinking, oh, I'm going to regret it.
This and that. And honestly, I could count on like maybe one hand. How many I actually genuinely
regret moving black and you're going to be, you're going to forget about it the week after.
Alex, that's such a good point. I don't have a card. The only card I have a regret for. I bought
a better version of it, like 12 years later. I mean, 2012, I sold air Carlson in a North
toe part. It was tough times for me in 2012. Okay. So I sold the air Carlson three color,
four color RPA for like 450 bucks. Dude, I cried. I was a grown man. I cried in my car after I
sold it to this guy. It was horrible. That's my only regret. But I bought a better one. I like four
years ago. So you know, whatever. Yeah. And that's it. I have no other regrets for any card. So
maybe I'm free of thinking it. Yeah. I think I'm in rumination category. Well, that's terrible.
You're as a therapy right at the window. Okay. But I also think you don't need to do the all
or nothing philosophy. You can move. You can start by moving some cards and then sit on the other
ones and wait because you can always move cards. It's harder to get them back. Yeah. It's hard to
argue. Okay. Very to you guys. Alex, do you have any cards you want to show? We'll play a game
after what kind of what kind of stuff do you want to see? Well, I don't want to see your Pokemon
collection. Okay. I had one here, but we'll save that for another game.
I can show some stuff I've picked up recently. Yeah. Yeah. That people want to see cards. Yeah.
Yeah. Some people may have really caught advice. I'm trying to have dragged it.
So this one is a pretty decent one. Oh, that's awesome. So it's a Yager Limited Logos from 2016-17,
four-color Florida patch. So I think I might have told you this before, but I've kind of made a list
of players that I've wanted to kind of pick up nice patch autos of. And it will be like a nice
limited logo because I've just decided that's pretty much my favorite set to be honest.
Our best practices. Share your methodology for everybody. For me and to it, didn't it? Yeah. Well,
yeah. Methodology number one is like to get in determining what set you actually like and enjoy
collecting. And for me, it kind of narrowed down to the cup and then to patch autos specifically,
and then to limited logos being so many reasons why I think it's a good subset. And a lot of people
agree, you know, the patch is large. Obviously, they're hard-signed all most of the time. Yeah.
It's a very few exceptions. They've been around since the first year of the cup. Like that's for me.
That's one of the coolest cards. Yeah. Like I want to have a collection where I have at least one
limited logos from every year of the cup, for instance. I like it.
Players. Adventages of you. Here's another one. This is a nice
Brett Hall. So yeah, sir, I took it further. And then what I did was because there's so many
options, I narrowed down the players, right? So my collection was seriously lacking like a lot of
veterans, like Brett Hall, like Yager. I've been in the hobby for so long, but I've never really
owned any really, really nice cards as some of these guys. So I figured why not try and get one
nice card of, you know, a lot of these legends and vets from different irls. So the older guys,
obviously, are really tough because, you know, either they're not in the sets or if they are,
they're really short-printed or they haven't made them for years and years on the really hard
to find or the really expensive. Palvel Burry is a good example. There's only 20 total limited
logos of his, like at all. What? So yeah, there was an out of time. Yeah, because there's two
years that one of them was an update recently and they're both out of 10. So they're like very
hard to find and very expensive. But I put about my list just just to see, but guys like that and then
guys like Aginla here. Oh, I love Canada Lord of Drone Aginla. He's, I mean, the 92 juniors, 93 maybe?
Oh, yeah. So guys like this are from, you know, a little bit of, let's say, the newer era after
the guys like Bret Hall, for example. So I kind of made a list of, I used like the top point
scores and goal scores of all time. And I kind of just took names from the, let's call it like
the top players in those lists. And then you have to do the research into what years are they
in? How many copies are there? So I have a spreadsheet of like, how many copies of, you know,
a Joe Thorne limited logos exists. And then, you know, which team was he featured on? And this
and that. So I take it pretty, I take it pretty far to be honest, but I like, I like 717 here. You
could do it every year with Jagger. For sure. Because he's only been in, he's only been in four
different years out of like 20 years of the cup. Two of them are short printed out of 25. I like,
that's good though. I'm glad I predicted that. I'm very happy. Bray only has 20 limited logos.
I mean, that's, I agree. So that's how we get that. That Florida Jagger limited logos that you
showed. Yeah. So that reminded me. I was at a Ducks game when they were playing Florida. And it
was when Jagger was on their team. He was like 42 at the time. And I was right behind the goal
watching the game. Okay. He had literally, and you can look this out. It's like a highlight,
one of his greatest goals ever where he gets the puck. And he just stick handles. And literally,
the defenseman like falls over and the goalie gets totally turned around any scores. And there
were duck fans there who were like, that was amazing. Like for now, it was like the greatest goal
I've ever seen. No, no, put that back up. Put that back up. I want to see Jared's card there.
Yeah. I love Ronik. That's a great, what an autograph. He never said, you don't see his auto too
much. He has a great autograph. Yeah. That's part of that's part of a two fill as you're right.
Like, so what I've realized and what I think a lot of people are starting to realize and
upper deck is pretty much come out and said that game use jerseys are getting more expensive.
The older guys are, I think it's getting harder for them to acquire. And I think they're going to
use them significantly less going forward. Really guys retire. Well, I mean, look at look at
a Gretzky. Like if they ever make more Gretzky limited logos, they're going to be always out of
10 short printed. They've only made one year using the oil is jersey. I don't know if they'll ever
even do that again, probably not. So, you know, guys like, like, Buray or even there's even like
Gila Flur ones, like early ones, even Marcel Dion, they're both on my list fill too. Like,
you don't make any more really as much. And the Marcel Dion limited logo patches are crazy.
They're the like purple yellow logo. Some of them make me itchy though. When there's too many
little holes, it reminds me of that like type type type. Type. Or maybe a type. Or maybe type. Or
or maybe there's something for you. Look out different. Their autographs are a ones of
distinguished gentlemen, the other ones. A dishwasher. I know. I love while doshing dishes, by the way.
So no shade on that. Geeky collector has a good question here. Any favorite non Toronto
mega patches that you have? I do have a few actually. Now that you mentioned that, let me
yeah, let's see them. There's a plant in the chat. Oh, excellent question, Geeky collector.
I'm prepared for it. You know what? I wasn't asked to go grab them. I have four friends with
four questions. It was a perfectly. So I did a little project a little while ago where I kind of
got a patch from every team. And I got, you know, various players on each team. I ended up getting
rid of a lot of them, but I kept kind of the best six. So we have all from the same year. So we
have a McDavid. Nice. We have the Crosby. Nice. We have the OV. We have the dry sidel with a little
piece of the oil drop there. Cool. We have McKinnon, which I know for some reason feel. I don't know
why you don't like apps patches because like, honestly, they're, they're really. I don't like the
burgundy color. I don't like, I don't like the tones. I don't, I don't, I don't not like the logo.
I don't like the color scheme colors. Well, the detail in the patches, they, they,
oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'd say, I don't know
out of these, which one's my favorite non-leafs. Maybe, honestly, I really like the McKinnon
LeCard, just the McCard, just because of how detailed the patches are. Yeah.
But yeah, so, and that's, and that's why I mean, because originally, you know, I've told you guys
before, but like, mega patches were kind of my bread and butter, but I found myself definitely
going more on the limited logos path recently, because it kind of merges the jumbo patch
with the variety. Agreed. I love you. And you get the auto with it. You don't get the auto with the
mega patches. Yeah, exactly. And then, so part of the reason too, I, the limited logos, so
the big card on my want list, which here, let me pull these, there's, there's one guy missing, but
we got the, the rookies of McDavid and Ovechkin here. I really need a rookie crossbeam.
That's like, what? Oh, your logo is limited logos. Yeah, that's what 10 grand 20 grand.
Yeah, it could be around 10, but the way things are like these days, I don't know,
Celebrini selling for 15 20 plus. I have no idea, but yeah, he's, that's my number one chase right
now. If I were to find a crossbeam limited logos rookie, it has to be a fair price, though,
that would be the number one card I want. Easily. Okay.
And you move cards to get into those two, those Ovechkin and McDavid's are, oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay.
The McDavid, the McDavid, I out. Okay. This is my best card. This is my most expensive card.
I move, I moved probably like 30, like decent cards together. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Taddo, to answer your question, yes, mega patches are all game one. Every single mega patch
ever created. Did you see? We had Kurt on mustache collector. He has the monumentals.
Oh, he has, yeah, I've seen his, I follow him on Instagram. He has some insane stuff.
He has like 40 of them. I know. He has all three of the buries. Speaking of buries, like,
oh, my God. All three one of ones. That's, I don't know. That guy's a man on a mission. I haven't,
I don't really know him personally, but he has, he has good tastes, for sure.
Oh, my goodness. And what a guy. I thought he was from Toronto.
Oh, where's he from? Is he from Toronto? I didn't know that.
It's crazy. I don't know. It's amazing. All right. That's good. So what is your,
do you have any deals lined up right now? Like, is anything on the, on the burner?
There's a couple small ones. I've been kind of waiting for the expo. As you mentioned,
that's where I kind of filled up and, and try and get some stuff done in person,
cup foundations. That's, that's a good segue to everyone. Everyone's setting this up for me
really nicely. I'll just, oh, yeah, yeah. Total by coincidence. Yeah.
That's a nice one. Holy cow. Holy. Holy. This is probably one of my other better.
Uh, I love, I love that jersey too. I love that. The patches on this,
they're right now. I know that. It's so nice. I'm jirurling right now.
These are very hard to find the, the patch. Yeah. Foundations out of five.
Did you, did you move cards to get into that? Or how'd you, how'd you pick that one up? Same.
Yeah. So I, uh, the deal I did for that one, I used to hold on, uh,
make David emblems of endorsements rookie. Um, and I didn't want to have both the emblems
and the logos, because I thought it was just too much to have two big,
McDavid. So I moved that one for that. Gretzky. I actually had a second Gretzky
foundations patch auto out of five. Um, I did have two from two different years, but I moved
that one and that led to me getting the old Vatican. Okay. This is sounding familiar,
because I know you've, I think I told you with this, with us before, I'm like starting to remember,
I'm like, okay, yeah, I remember this. Yeah. I remember you have to
move that card. That's right. Okay. So, uh, right now, but right now, so I've done so much
with the consolidation that I'm going backwards now. I want to get some, like, um, more
reasonable stuff that I can just go out and buy like, you know, one, two, three hundred dollar
card instead of getting like these crazy expensive ones all the time. Um, so yeah, to your
point, Phil, what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to source some of the players on my list and
get those lined up. So one of the ones that I have ready for the expo, um, is a kuturov.
And the reason why kuturov is a bigger one than you would think is because they only had him in
limited logos for one year. So there's only, there's only 50 from that one year and that's it.
And he doesn't really sign anymore, um, very frequently. So I don't know if they'll make more,
maybe, maybe not, but he's on my list. But the price for him for his limited logos reflect that
or do people not really know that? They do now. I would say, I tried to get it a couple years ago,
even though a couple years ago, he was still like one of the top players in the league. His stuff
was was cheaper, but, um, it's gone up. Also, Dave, there are some very hardcore collectors.
Thanks, Andrew. You don't know how many times I've thought of that, but yeah, that's a good point.
Dave, there's some guys who have like out of the 50 copies. So the guy I'm going to get it from,
good guy in the hobby. Um, he has like six of the 50. So, and then there's another guy who has,
you know, multiple copies too. So the problem with these types of cards is they get locked up in PCs,
and then they rarely surface again, right? So sometimes you have to try and just get them when you can.
A lot of the old farts that lock up the vaults don't have social media. So it's a double winery.
We don't even know, right? And then, and then if they unlock the vault to 25 cards,
you're like, why have enough money for two of them? I know.
But, you know, the thing is, you know, I'm, I'm pretty public with my collection for the most part,
but if I didn't show my stuff, people would be wondering like, where are all the least mega patches
that I've ever had? I know a guy in New York State, he has two full sets of the all-time
future watch. And then your next question, even the Gretzky, yeah, two grad skis, he's trying
to finish a third. Nobody knows. He has no social media. Nobody knows him. Nobody. And any,
there's so many of these, there's like, not a bad way, but like you're under the surface, you know.
I want to tell you a sidebar story, because I think you guys would find the same thing.
I don't know if I've told you this before, but it was just something on topic in terms of people
having these secret collections, you know, that no one would know. So not me. So I, so one year when
I was set up at the expo, this was probably three years back, like just post COVID. This guy walked
up to our table with like a shoe box of cards, right? Like the two row shoe box, saying, oh,
you guys want to take a look at this stuff? Yeah, of course, why not, right? He's there with like,
I don't know, one or two other guys. And demographic? I would say probably like early 40s,
like not, not old, but older than me, but my age, but not as, not as old as Dave. Okay, got it.
Go ahead. Something like that. Say falls in between you guys. Anyway, this guy proceeds to pull out
probably one of the most insane collections I've ever laid my eyes on. So you're not going to
believe me when I tell you this. Okay. So the full, the box was full. Okay. There was, I think three
crossby high gloss young guns. There was probably two of Etchkin high gloss young guns. There was
crossby and Etchkin Cup RPAs. There was crossby green PMG's from 2012. There was every other sport.
There was a Michael Jordan logo man. There was the Tom Brady contenders, Rookie Auto.
Phil, there was like, I'm telling you, a full box of problems and rails you would ever see in
your life. And we looked through an awe because for us, we're like, okay, yeah, we'd be
interested. You don't see that in us on a table, right? No, I mean, never. So we asked him,
he said like, do you like have any like whatever's supposed to be this that? No, I just,
you know, I've been collecting for a long time and accumulated. I don't show anything.
We looked through that box for a good like 20 minutes, like just admired all the cards. And I
just told you what like 10 out of probably 100 cards in there that were all like holy grails
of the hot. After that day, never heard or saw the guy again, no idea where those cards are.
You know, yeah, but they exist. And now you're never going to forget that. You're
not going to be on your death by being like, what happened to that guy? Oh, man.
I wish I could have pulled one card out of the collection just to say as a keepsake, you know,
left it around a million dollar box, right? Multimillion. Multimillion. Yeah, one of the cards
alone was probably worth a million dollars. Like Anthony inner shoe box. Yeah, when we say shoe box,
so it's a two slaughter. Yeah, two slaughter. It's not a little shoe box, but two slaughter to Anthony
knows, but I do. Well, security with them. But anyways, I thought you guys would try that
interesting, but a lot of people probably wouldn't think like, ah, you know, I want to buy a
crossby high glass young guns. It's not even about having the money for it. It's about being
able to actually find one. Like the fact that one guy has two or three copies of that card
that may never see the light of day. It's just, yeah, it's kind of crazy. Big shout out to my
boys here Friday nights with Phil crew and the gong show crew. Yeah, yeah, I love it boys. Hey,
everybody. That's good. Okay. Um, Dave, do you have anything to show? Should I open my mail? I don't
know. Um, yeah, I have, I have one card that I got in the mail. Okay. And I brought it with me. Yeah.
So I will open it. And also, Dave is my, my Dave's my com sea mule Alex. Okay. And Carter is his,
I'm Dave's backup. Louis is my backup. Um, but Dave travels way more than Louis. So it's just
easier to send it to Dave's nice. Yeah, I've been using com sea for a while and I'm in need of a
mule Dave. So, like, send away only 15 cards, but I'm going to make a little video out of them
because there's a special card. Is this your, so this is your mail you brought with you?
This is my mail, except it's like, did my US Canadian border services agency charge you duty on your
own mail coming from America? No, they did not. They tried crazy. So every time I go through
security, my bags get like, Oh, what is that? It's a microphone. Oh, what is that? It's hockey
cards. Like I get nailed every single time. This is the first time I made it through baggage claim
without getting stopped. Nice. Oh, I bought them, but like just get your thumb over the bottom.
And then it's a great card. Yeah, there you go. Oh, my God, what a God. That's what I want.
Pass good. Isn't it future? Yeah. Oh, that's a great card. That's a cool card. And they're,
they're not, they're not sticker autos. You know, usually that's from Dominion, right, Dave? Yeah.
Yeah. Dominion, I think, was mostly hard signed. Yeah. So it's kind of cool to get. I'm just
double checking. Yeah, that's definitely hard sign. Alex is a bit of us to vaunt when it comes to
cards. There's no, there's no stickers on those suckers. So that's you. Those autos are Chris. Yeah,
I'll get three three autos on a card now is very rare. So. And then the other card I wanted to show,
I won an auction last night and stopped by the auction shop to pick up my card, which I'm
not sure if I'm not safe. But, uh, so I won this in an auction last night and was able to go
to the shop and pick it up and not pay for shipping. And what a beauty. Put it up a bit closer.
Little close. Let's see that stash. Oh, yeah. What a man. Brian. Brian. Brian.
That one's been two day. Look at that auto three color patch. I know. I love the islanders patch.
I'm telling you it's kick ass. You're telling me in New York Islanders patches in 10,000 times
better than an apps patch. Of course it is. It's got history. The color scheme that color schemes
better. Sure. Yeah. Depends. Maybe. Well, yeah, it's not okay. That's good.
That's good. My two cards. So now it's your turn. Okay. Here. Let me, uh, I want to bring up, uh,
I want to bring up topics. And then I'll do my mail. And then don't forget the game. I really
am excited for the game. You want to do the game first? Do you want to show your cards first?
Well, I like doing things that make me the happiest last. I feel like the game will make me super
happy. Okay. My topics are very, very quick and very light. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Here we go.
Okay. I don't think there's any audio. So we'll just do. Okay. So this, I want to show. So
this is rooster cards on Instagram. I don't know what people program. I'm sure I know it's AI,
but I don't know if there's like a fixed website that people are doing this. Stop thinking like,
I hate AI. Like every, I watch, I watched, um, uh, things called like on YouTube. I watch a YouTube
channel called, uh, Kings and Generals. They use AI to push the story as visuals. I'm not sitting
at home, not absorbing the information that I'm trying to learn because it's AI and I hate AI.
Like get over that shit. So this isn't AI, uh, uh, created photo of a hockey card. I would
much rather look at this than some scotch tape like sideways pic potato pixel card.
So we're living in a time. My friend, Dave, up here, I'm surrounded by people that aren't the
best with technology. I'm smothered by them and quiet. You put it smothered. Um, so AI is a tool
that can really help a lot of this along. Use AI for your card pictures. It shows your cards
beautifully. And if you're not getting it, spend a little time and get it, get it to do it,
what you want. It's all in the prompts. One word can change everything. I don't know how to do
this myself with AI. I know how to use Photoshop. I have the manual way, but it's all the same
shit. I love pasta. Who would say that? I love pasta. So I don't need a lot of pasta because I
get fat, real easy Mediterraneans, you know, thanks guys. I have one problem. I agree with you.
Like, you got a great thing. It's not going anywhere. If someone disagrees with me,
disagree with me. And let's continue. That's the beautiful part of life.
Gabe, go ahead. It's one. It's what I've seen this. And I've seen guys that have tried to promote
it. Like there, I think there is a specific website. You can use my only problem is so on, like
from here, it looks great. If you zoom into the faces for some reason, it messes up like the
faces on a lot. We're not doing it right. Yeah. So that's not, but at almost every one I've seen
that someone's posted of this, the face looks. It doesn't look like the player. We'll put it that way.
So I have two cards in our game tonight. I didn't, I was kind of getting jammed up there.
Well, you saw me. I was like, no, talking. I got busy. It's work. Like you have to, it's not
click and forget it. I think that's a lot of people just think, oh, it's not working for me.
Just like everything else in life, you got to, I mean, I can't believe I'm about to say this from
my slow down, slow down and harness that energy and to just step by step learning something.
If you take one hour, I guarantee you, no one who took an hour is screwing this up. Nobody.
I will show you two cards tonight that kind of don't look like the, I mean, they do,
but they're not good enough for me. But it's Friday nights. I mean, whatever. I don't. But if I was
making like a YouTube video, I would never post it. Never. You got to put the effort in.
And so Mike made a good point that I want to point out that I think I never thought about this.
But to show your card off, I agree. It's all well and fine. But if you're buying a card,
I would not want to see an AI picture. No, I agree. So I think that's what we need distinction to.
I see an eBay listing and the, and the photo is AI generated of the card. Red flag.
Me neither 100% massive red flag. But we, we, we don't need AI to ask this questions to our,
this question ourselves. Critically think that part. I love visually stimulating things.
Yes, I'm a bit of a pot head. So obviously, that makes sense. But don't you like things that
make your eyes pretty? Like if you're a woman, don't you like looking at an attractive man or an
attractive landscape? Right? Or good tiling? Like the elegance is life is full of beauty, right?
And I, this is a beautiful photograph to me. I'm not trying to buy this past or not card.
I just want to look at it. I, I think it's great. So more of this, more of this, please. Okay.
Next. Oh, yeah. Okay. So what does this have to do with cards? You're probably not thinking much.
Okay. But this kind of segues nicely. So long time ago, when people made cartoons,
they had to make them like this. Look how dialed in this brother is. Look there,
his, he doesn't have a cell phone ringing. He doesn't have the microwave going maybe does. I
don't know. But he is dialed in. Do you know what this is? This is me when my phone's not around
in my hockey cards. Now, obviously, there's a lot less talent. I have no talents looking at my
hockey cards, but it's the zone. It's, it's, it's when people say, why do you collect cards?
Just keep watching this. This is how I collect cards. I'm dialed in. This man is safe. He,
you know, he's in a room. Things are good. I feel very safe when I'm looking at my cards. I,
I don't feel anyone's going to break in and kill me. I don't have anxiety. It's, it's Peter
Pan syndrome. And I'm dialed in. I did it today for like five hours. I just just dialed in.
And that's what this guy is doing. So it's focused. I mean, they are different, but I'm just trying
to show some similarities. Okay. Two more. That, that's why you didn't answer any of my text messages.
Is that you today? Yeah. I'm sorry. It was kind of a loop. Yeah. I figured you guys all figured
my habit. Okay. Come see everyone. I don't know why everyone's just realizing now that they're,
they're great and horrible all. Great and horrible all and wide skin nervous when he's around my
shit. Great and horrible all in one. So I don't know why just this past week or two. Everyone's
like, anyone noticed their mailing is, uh, and then they raised that they doubled the price.
They doubled the price per card of 50 cents. So let's give shitty, shitty trash service and double
the, I mean, but we're the idiots. It's, it's all of us. I'm still in need. I just put a hundred
bucks and I bought another two cards today. I just bought a card today too. I just bought
a hundred and fifty five. Yeah. I'm playing about it. I'm still using it. I'm, I'm voting with
my wallet and I'm voting for them to keep sucking shit. But when you put money into your account,
they charge you tax on your own money. That's criminal records are such bullshit. You know how many
people have a criminal record and won't rob you blind, but these legal entities just like,
obviously they're not sponsoring us anytime soon. Sorry. Okay. Anyways, I've come see goes under what
happens to all our cards. I just public service announcement. eBay and I believe with my heart,
upper deck would not allow this to happen. They would not, now is that enough for you to feel good
at night sleeping? But I don't know. It's enough for me. I, upper deck has power. Uh, eBay has power.
They're not going to let a massive portion of their customers indirectly. I just don't see that
happening. I mean, someone's going to swoop in and buy them. I mean, how, like how many employees
does Comc have like seven, eight, maybe like 15 contractors on rollerblades, maybe, you know,
like, I mean, that's a great one. They just go on vacation all the time together. That's why
this shipping is so log because they're like, I'll pay. If you think I'm going hard, I,
I'll tell you exactly why I'm going hard. I paid $115 American dollars. I'm Canadian.
A merit for the fastest service possible to Dave's house, beating his departure by over two
months, two months. They never showed up. They never showed up. They did. I departed after I departed.
He's at my house. They show up at his house. $115 American dollars. I listen. I waste my money
sometimes, but that's money. You robbed me. You robbed me. You stole my money. I know that's
ridiculous to say, but like you did not render services. I'm not actually mad. I'm just a loud
person. I'm not mad, but that's why I'm going ham on them. And I'm not going to go easy on them.
Give me a refund. I'll be a little nicer. They won't even give me a refund.
I think you're right about the employees. They come to the expel, right? And I've been a buyer
for a while, but I've never gave them cards to sell. So I wanted to try it. And I was talking
to the Asian dad in the sun. I didn't see the dad, but maybe that was great guys.
They're super nice, but it was funny. I gave them my box of cards, which had like 400 low
and cards. He's like, oh, yeah, I'm going to input all these. And I'm like, do you input
everything that comes in? He's like, oh, yeah, yeah, I input all the cards. I'm like, what?
You don't have like 10 people doing that. Is it? They would poach them in a heartbeat.
That guy's where he's one of the hardest workers. Every expel, every time I see him, he's like,
like, I just take so long to the shipping. One guy is there. Yeah, it's like that day.
Nothing's getting done. Every time I see a com see like advertisement, I'm like,
why are you spending money on advertising, spend money on employees and and services rendered
unrendered? You did not render them. I do. I wish I did shift work my whole life.
Because owning a business, this is when I've started a yell. I could never get away with this.
At like never, ever. Oh, God. Anyways, okay. Maybe the render means maybe you should educate them.
No, I'm done educating. Okay. Okay. Here we go. This is going to be good. This is really funny,
really, really funny. And then we're going to do the game. Okay. This is so good.
If you've already seen it, I'm sorry, but it's great.
Okay. You ready? Yes. Can you hear it? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay.
From famous arena in Rockland, Massachusetts, NBC brings you live coverage of Bear League hockey.
The boys are dialed in and have plenty of beer. Tonight, the angry pickles and the plug hog square
off in a classic Bear League rivalry. This should be a good one, boys.
Yeah.
Source and say Tom Mahoney skip law class for this tilt. And of course, Neil Corcoran leads to the
league in Beard's drink. Not a surprise. And your bartender tonight is my content.
This is Bear League hockey on NBC.
Not great. That's amazing. It's just silly, but I thought it was, I thought it was cute.
That's awesome. There is a guy on my team. I'm not joking. If he hasn't had two beers,
he's terrible. Yeah. But if he's had four beers, he's also terrible. There's a sweet spot in there
where he has to be at two or three beers to be like right on really good. And if he hasn't
drinking any or he goes too hard, then he's bad. So imagine being married to that.
Not cool. Okay. Game time. Very chill guy, though. He's pretty, he's pretty laid back.
This athleticism suffers, I guess. Okay. Ready? No more questions. No talking. Okay, here we go.
Showtime. Let's get this party started.
Okay. Okay. Okay. So the game is, it's always the same game. It's guest to card. But I went to
Dave and Alex's eBay. And there's one card in the whole Shabang that's not on their eBay.
All this is not a hard game. Okay. Okay. So I don't even know what's on my eBay.
So yeah, we're not allowed to participate, I guess. No, no, no, you guys participate. I did some
modifications. Okay. Okay. Okay. So what player just, you got to name the player. Okay. Okay.
Okay. So who's this guy?
Fatty Musketeer. Maddie Beneers. Maddie Beneers. That's my card.
Is that your final answer? Yes. Is that your answer as well, Alex?
It does look like him. Oh, I thought AI makes things don't look like things.
Well, it's funny that the face actually looks more accurate. Yeah. I don't, because I know
I told you that card. It was like a hundred and fifty dollar card. Now it's like a five dollar card.
Maddie Beneers. That's your card, Dave. Yes, it is.
Yes, it is. Okay. Okay. Next. All right. So it's a tough one.
Bedard animation. No incorrect. It looks like Celebrini. Celebrini. Yeah. Maybe
Celebrini mixed with Bill. Yes. My mustache. She'll be fine. I choose.
There you see. Yeah. It looks like a man. Okay. I don't have a, I don't have a
Celebrity. Oh, yeah. So maybe there's the okay. Sorry. There's two. There's two that aren't on
yours. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. This one might be tough. The skin color might give it away,
but you never know. So what player is this? Dave, you want to guess first?
Did I know the answer to this one? I can't be serious right now, Dave. What do you mean?
I can't be serious. Okay. What? What? A hockey player is this? PKC band. Oh, okay.
Well, you weren't saying it. He's never played for the Vancouver connoisseurs. You have to get
back. So I was a little confused because I thought it was PKC. Well, it's obviously PKC band.
Oh, it is PKC band. You changed his face. No, I wouldn't change his player, but you wouldn't
have to guess the nine. And I would, okay. Yeah. If I, you want me to change the faces?
No, no, no. Here. You'll have to guess the whole league. That doesn't even make sense.
Dave's out of the game. That's a good analysis mine. I recognize that. Okay. So this is PKC band.
Okay. Markly we need. Okay. Well, it's obviously some.
Did you use the letters to make? So the letters are correct. They're just shuffled for the name.
All the players faces and poses. This card is exactly his card, except for the name and the
jersey and the team. Yeah. Yes. The name Markling Guini. I can't give you all the hints.
Okay. You guys go through. I think I think the chat's got it before we did.
I don't I don't think it's Phantilly. Oh, it is. Yeah. That was a tough one. I didn't even know I
had an Adam Phantilly. Markling Guini. Markling Guini. That looks like Drew Dowdy.
No. Okay. That was it. This looks like Drew Dowdy. He did a lot of things. Dave knows his
Kings too well. Well, this is his card. Could be his card, but it's funny because this is your
card, Alex. I know. It's not my card. No. There he is. Yeah. He's got the flow going.
Yeah. It looks a little younger. Little Jack Black action. Okay. Okay. So this is a hard one.
No, no, you'd be quiet. I know you know what this is. I'm not going to say anything.
I want the chat to get this. So this is three steps away from the real card.
Yeah. I'm going to guess that's not his hair and not a stash. No, that is his hair.
I want to see if that is his hair. That is his hair. That is his hair. That's not his name and
that's not his team. But that's his autograph. I'm looking at the chat. I'll let you know if
anyone gets it. No one has got his mustache. This is mustache. I care it. I cannot confirm or deny.
I'm not going to confirm or deny either. It's not his name either. Farch Mardiner.
But there's a big. Oh, I guess you can look at the autograph. Oh, Jake. Someone said Jake.
Oh, God. Yeah. Okay. Here's your second hint. There you go. Someone did get it.
Yeah. Someone got it. There we go. There you go. Jake Gardiner. From my illustrious Jake Gardiner
collection. I love this. It makes me laugh so hard. Okay. Next one. Okay. Jim Nathan.
Yeah. This is this should be a pretty easy one. The face. I think it gives it away a little bit.
Maybe not. I don't know. I'm not getting it from the face. No. I won't say no major.
He's really throwing me off too. Yeah. That's why I know. The jerseys are. Yeah.
There you go. Yeah. Yeah. The jerseys are really. Yeah. I know. It's it's really hard to see a person.
Okay. Cliler 11. Cliler 11. I wouldn't have known if I've been taking the name.
Yeah. Well, you've got me getting it. I thought this was easy, but I was anyway.
Oh, there we go. Hammer's got it. Tyler Cleve.
Yeah. Tyler Cleve and I won't get that one. Yeah.
Alright. Steve or Bang. Steve or Bang? Steve or Bang?
This one is. I like this one. Actually, I like the TV-Trace feel for this one. Too
Yeah. I did list. I did get some, uh, there's thought behind a lot of things.
You changed the, the color of the Jersey patch. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Make it the end of every player 69 to if anyone hasn't noticed. Yeah.
Oh, look at that patch. Holy. So that's a patch from the all-star game.
Oh, shit. Don't look at the bottom of the card.
You missed the part. Don't look at the bottom of the card.
Don't look at the bottom. That's for not part of the game. You did your cheating.
And you're like, is that land a scuck? Oh god. Damn it. Yeah.
I did cheat because I didn't know and when I saw Colorado, I'm like, okay.
That's like, I like the AI version better of this one, Phil. Yeah. I know. Me too. Yeah.
Okay. Minimum Cosmonaut.
Yeah.
Dave, there's a whole bunch of cards and I couldn't tell you who it is.
Ava, it's your card. I know. And I pulled it.
I know. And anyone can buy it for $5. Oh, you're so funny.
I pulled $5. I'll mail it to you.
I think the name is right. Maybe. No, I'm not taxi A.
Chinnacov? Is that one right? No, it starts with an L.
It's like a guy I've never even heard of, I think.
Or maybe I have. I can't remember it.
Don't wait. Don't cry. I'm sorry.
Oh, yeah. Maxim.
It wasn't guessing that. It's got a cool patch for a shark's patch, but
yeah. It's not bad. Okay, ready? I know, buddy.
Schmackaroo Linguini.
Schmackaroo Linguini.
Just given the pose of the card. It's got to be one of the
Celebrini Smith canvas. Oh, yeah.
Because he changed it to a penguin.
I don't know what one of them it is, though, because they look the same.
Yeah. Okay, well, what rhymes with Schmackaroo Linguini?
Is it Will Smith or Matt Wings?
I wouldn't be reading that.
Jesus! Are you can't be serious, you two?
Oh, my goodness.
I don't think this could be a Will Smith card.
I don't know.
I'm not disappointed.
I don't know.
I know. I don't think you can feel the better point.
I don't think you're not getting this.
It was Will Smith. I'd put Bill Smythe.
Got it. Got it. I got it. I got it now.
Okay, okay.
Do me a little bit of that.
Do you write this in the game?
I got it. You're writing in the names.
Got it. Okay.
Maclin.
Schmackaroo Linguini.
I really like the penguin, though. That was pretty good.
I like it, too. That's a great card.
I didn't put any name on this.
Make it hard.
This one's a...
Okay, I know this one, but I won't ruin it either.
Oh, he's a goalie.
I don't know what goalies look like.
Yeah, the most unrecognizable.
It's exactly what I feel like.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Dangerous Mines.
There you go.
Mike Smith.
Yeah, Chad Smith.
Well, that's Carter to settle down.
Anyway, I don't believe it.
Slobber Black Eye.
Slobber Black Eye.
Dave, come on. You can get this.
It's my card.
Yeah, I know.
That doesn't mean anything.
Arbor Jack Eye.
Ah, there we go.
Greed and got it.
What a wiener.
I always say, I'll fight that guy.
I don't care.
I probably wouldn't fight Arbor.
Probably school me.
I'd, I'd, I'd lucky punch right.
But okay, last one, give me flask.
No, nobody.
I know this one.
It's mine.
I'm not going to ruin it.
Dave, anything?
Give me flask.
Look at that face, Dave.
It's a goalie though.
So I know I'm not good at goalie faces.
Oh, super ask.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, wait, no, no, there's, okay.
And last one bonus question, because it's hard.
I did not know there's two more.
There's more.
Sorry.
Here's one.
Mojablonsky.
Okay, I know that one.
Do you Alex?
Yeah, TV USA legend.
Mojablonsky.
Well, it says this is.
I want the chat.
I want the chat to get this.
Oh, yeah, I got it.
Yeah, I got it.
Yeah, here you go.
Oh, Paddy.
Okay, last one bonus points.
Oh, no, I want Dave to get this.
Okay.
Joe Sackick.
Excellent.
Good job.
I love the mustache.
I love the mustache.
So everybody looks favorite.
Well, I said Joe Sackick.
And then I'm like crap.
But Joe Sackick played for the Nordiques.
But yeah, that is the Nordiques.
Yeah, that's the true.
I know, but you were the same.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I kept the Jersey the same.
I just wanted the mustache.
The mustache kind of fits, honestly.
Yeah, it looks good of the stash.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay, well, I just got my mail.
Most of it.
Oh, who's this guy?
That's a 101.
Is that a PSA 10 filler one?
It will never be a PSA 10.
It's a PSA 11.
Yeah, if you turn that in for grading,
do you think PSA would grade that card?
What?
I said, if you turn that in for grading,
we'll PSA grade the card.
We'll Brad grade.
Yeah.
Oh, my god.
I'm sure we get our card card connect room card.
Yeah.
Okay, no, just do PSA authentic, though.
Don't do a grade.
Yeah, I don't believe I should sign it and be like,
I just want to DNA signature.
Totally.
That's amazing.
All right, what do we got here?
Ooh, Marcel Dionne.
Well, is it Mike's auto on it?
So you would, you would certify his auto, right?
This is the thickest.
What's that, Dave?
Is it Mike Foster's auto on that or?
No, he didn't sign it.
I want Mike to sign it.
Yeah, I want to sign it.
This is the, are these?
What?
This thing is huge.
Yeah, it's a regular one.
180 point.
Yeah, 155 point.
Should I say that's nuts getting the tile clippers for that?
Look at that.
So, no, nice glove.
That's like glove.
Oh, that's awesome.
Sexy.
What's that?
That's a little free.
Number that.
I want to bite it.
All right.
How do you eat?
Oh my god, it's out of free.
Yeah, it's out of free.
Beauty.
Suck it, Trippleric.
Did that come up on eBay?
How did I miss that card?
Stop buying Marcel Dionne.
You're not allowed.
I can't take care of that.
Next card.
Yeah, you got to touch that glove and smell it.
Yeah.
Do you want to free it from the prison?
If it smells like sweat.
Hold on, hold on.
Let me see.
This, I've never, I've never.
Should I?
Okay.
Yeah, we're doing that.
Yeah, let's grab it.
Yeah, for sure.
All right.
Let's do it.
You know, we love it.
Is it the hammer and nail strategy, Dave?
I don't know.
So, so at the end of our last episode,
he started cracking a card and like almost destroyed it.
We didn't get to see the full, the full video of him.
So, I think we need to give the viewership what they want.
I agree.
Definitely need to crack that sucker.
Man, I hate cracking slabs.
It's so, it's like the most nerve-wracking thing.
It is.
And you throw that screwdriver in there and you're like,
you don't really know the score.
Yeah, yeah.
One of my buddies was cracking a Bedard retro future watch.
And as he, as he was trying to lift it with the flat head,
bam, straight right across the face of the card.
Yep, absolutely brutal.
Yep, yeah.
Yeah, listen, this is a maybe.
If it doesn't go easy, I'm not doing it.
All right, that's that's the plastic fill.
You got to give it some juice.
Don't hurt Mr. Bigel's worth.
No, she's not crunching, man.
No, I don't want to do this.
Yeah, but did it.
Do you not do like the corner?
I can, but I really, I'm really liking my nippers lately.
They, they work on the PSAs.
I just go crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch.
All right.
Well, that, that's a better slide.
Should I, would that be better on the BBGS, you think?
Might be tough together with that.
Yeah, more heavy body.
Yeah, fine.
That's no problem there.
You know, it would work.
You know, it would work, Phil.
Yeah, there you go.
Give the child what they want.
Come on.
I was going to say that that's going to work for sure.
A spiked, a night in spiked mail would work also.
Yeah, there you go.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
There you go.
Card must be terrifying.
Yeah, I bet.
Flip it over and do the other side with it.
Do the other side, okay?
Yeah, like normal, but just not normal.
Correct.
Yeah, hold on.
No, wait.
I've got a lot.
I'm not being a good pet owner here.
One sec.
Protect.
If you hurt, where's your, where's the safety goggles for him,
April?
Why not for you for Mr.
Brittle's work.
Yeah, you got to get some for it.
Oh, that was perfect.
Clean.
That would be cool.
You'll just muster out.
I should probably have covered it.
Okay.
Is it going to slide right out now?
No.
Yeah.
Oh, it did.
There you go.
Amazing.
I think the greatest one up from a 9 to 9.5 for how clean that was.
I'm sorry.
Are you okay?
Are you okay?
Okay, you're good.
Okay.
I want to see the whole point of this is to see the card though.
Well, yeah, and to smell it and make sure it smells like sweaty manba.
Oh, that's like, I didn't know they put it in a plasticky thing.
Oh, there we go.
Me first.
Oh, that's so good.
Go back a little bit.
There you go.
There you go.
There it is.
That's clean.
Did you smell it?
Yeah, it smells good.
Oh, look at that.
That looks like a football.
Yeah, that's cool.
That is a really cool card.
Very nice.
I can't lie.
I'm pretty jealous of that card.
All right, Davey.
There's two more out there.
Davey, you can find one.
I know.
Okay.
Okay, on this card, do you have to have all three or you're okay to just have one?
Oh, look, I'm not, I'm not big on that for him.
No, no, you find out.
But I find the other two.
They're mine.
Did you get an Alper silver of Marcel Dion?
Yeah, I lost it.
Oh, you didn't win the auction.
Did you win?
No, I didn't bid on it because you were bidding on it.
And there's another one that just went up.
So I was going to see if I could go after it.
But I'm having a bit of, I'm having a bit of anxiety with this plastic.
I didn't cover it and I'm worried about my catches.
I just need like 60 seconds and then clear it up.
You don't make some mess.
Yeah.
If you don't mind, we saw the explosion.
So Alex, are you, have you gotten any like Datsuke or
Iserman limited logos?
Are you going after those guys?
Yeah, they're both on my list, but I don't have them yet.
There was a really nice Datsuke that was listed on eBay, but I missed it.
I forgot to bid.
I didn't realize it and then it sold.
The thing about Datsuke and Iserman, Dave that I've noticed is you got like two tiers.
There's the, there's the number patches, which are really plain,
like just like a solid two color.
And then there's the logo patches, the wheel patches that are really nice.
They're like double price value.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But I want both of them.
I'd say Iserman is more of a priority than Datsuke, but I want both.
I have both, but I'm a little disappointed because I didn't pay enough attention
when I was bidding.
Okay.
Iserman, the auto is faded.
Like it's like, sun damaged.
So I, I do want to get another Iserman and then sell the,
it's, it's one of those cards that I love.
And but like every time I look at it, it like makes me sad.
I'm like, oh, why didn't I, I needed to be more selective.
Auto fading is probably one of my biggest pet peeves for me, honestly.
I purposely avoid stuff where the auto's faded.
Yeah.
Or beach or platinum stay away.
Yeah.
Or some cross-be-future watches are really bad.
Oh, really?
Oh, you never see.
There's some really bad ones out there.
Yeah.
No.
Oh, yes.
Iserman Gold, Patrick Wah.
I mean, it's not the best.
I mean, it's nice.
That's a nice photograph.
That's really cool, though.
Very nice, eh?
I thought you already had one of those.
I do.
Oh, okay.
Are you surprised?
No.
I think I thought you had one.
Oh, got a big card for Phil.
Big card for Phil.
Yeah, this is huge.
So I'm really into the Habs, like old school.
This isn't a centennial card, but it makes me feel like it is.
And there wasn't my brother and my son are watching Django and
changed in the unchained in the other room.
So I might have to close the door.
Okay, hold on.
Almost done.
Almost done.
Gillifler.
Look at that.
What a card, man.
That is all.
Oh, dude, so legends, classics.
I don't know about a lot of these cards.
What set is that from?
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't even know that one.
Look it over.
It's called signature moment.
What year is it?
0304.
Oh, old school.
That's an upper deck card.
It says 0405.
Nice.
That's an upper deck card.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, upper deck card.
Oh, yeah, there it is.
And the centenials are very, very expensive and difficult to get.
I mean, there's like, there's one on, there's an eBay card
that looks almost exactly like this.
It's horizontal and it's $1,200 plus tax.
This was not $1,200.
This was maybe a hundred.
Maybe.
I probably would have paid if it was more than a hundred.
Phil, you're talking about the centennial Habset?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, the exclusives.
Those are popular.
Even the leaf ones, I know,
there's people that chase those.
That's a lot of people.
I saw a guy pay $300 for a UP exclusive.
That's how I found out about the set.
I'm like, did you just pay 300 bucks?
He's like, oh, dude, I have to.
I'm trying to finish the set.
I'm like, what's that?
He goes to centennial.
I'm like, I didn't think there was anything going for all of them.
But the exclusives are numbered.
So he's, you know, that's where the money come.
Like, you can collect the whole set for like 300 bucks,
which I am.
But I want the exclusives, right?
Ego buying.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right.
Well, I think that's it.
Oh, okay.
Sorry, Chad, I kind of ignored you there at the end.
A little cleanup to do here.
All right.
Well, Alex, thanks for hanging out.
Yeah, always happy to join.
Always a good time.
Yeah, anyone else?
Chad, sorry, I, I ignored six seismic.
Thank you.
I ignored a lot of you at the end.
I apologize, but I was a bit of me time.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
All right.
You're always a little me time.
Yeah, a little bit.
Yeah.
Phil and Dave old souls with hockey cards in hand.
Okay.
Castle hops just 17.
The kids are biggest fan.
Text a puzzle.
We're wrestling.
