This is of course foghorn leghorn presents the pinball junk drawer. You all ask for it. I say you all ask for it now. You're gonna get it. Boy oh boy are you gonna get? Go I say go away boy you're bothering me. Stumbling out of the gate like only we can. And it's the only pinball podcast that doesn't say no to flights when they're available. This is of course the often imitated never duplicated in ball junk drawer. Big show 106. My name's foghorn leghorn with me as always. No flight craft Bruce Sally. Aww a tear runs down our eyes like an Indian looking at garbage along the highway. And if you know that joke you have no cartilage in your knees and your heirs gray. Anyway time for pinball none of that nonsense.

1:00So you know big right off the top I'm gonna say yay for me today. I celebrated 2400 games played on my insider connect. I think 151 week streak and a 600 and something something 56 or something. I don't know. Day streak is still alive week streak that is new is now still alive and I just popped 24 hundred games which probably doesn't sound like a lot to like crazy players. Right. You know I mean like I'm sure you know some competitive players pay 2400 games in a weekend but I don't do that. I have I'd like to say this is mostly home games. I'd like to say I have a life but that's not true either. I like pretend I have a life but I but it's still kind of cool. I was so excited about that. We didn't get to see this was a sad sad time for us. We were invited to the media day at Stern for the brand new cornerstone fallout which we

2:05I think we talked about it last time that we had to say no. Various reasons but it didn't make sense. It hurt but it hurt so bad. I don't think I'll be missing any others. I felt kind of a funk the whole week like I could be there and I you know I heard it was a bit crowded and they had some some of the one some of the second greatest place in the world being the four year area had the games moved out for Costco delivery so anyone sitting in Hong Kong well nobody's buying as Costco games well you're wrong because they and they had an entire front of a building filled with them. So someone's buying them unless they're planning on discounting them all. I don't so normally what happens when we go there is like you you're in this little holding area like the foyer where like the secretaries are and they're spraying me with water they have a mister it just says like fuck or not and they're spraying the face like back back and I'm like the days games. So that's like where they keep us until like they let us into the thing.

3:08And then like as soon as you walk in there there's like cubicles and then there's this huge long area that normally has probably 50 or 60 games. Well maybe more than that because they they went all around the edge. Like every time we've been there it's kind of been a different configuration with usually more and more and more. Yeah. I think as dumb as this sounds and I know they've done a lot of these I think they like learn and adapt every time. You know like this time there was like a breakfast one breakfast kind of thing in that area to keep us from milling about in people's cubicles. These are working. I would if I worked there I would dread these days because they're just random people walking up to you and you're like I'm at work. Yeah. Like not talk to me. I'd have a little sign I'd tap it just says do not you know do not know soliciting. No beat or molesting the cute monkey. That's what I would say. I would have a picture of me by the cage. But and it's always a lot of fun.

4:09Yeah. Yeah. Is I'm not like super huge into like tightly packed rooms full of people. So the main they take into that main like the coolest place in the world which is like that little bar air it's like it looks like it's a bar. Yeah. And it has all their like collector edition number one of you know all these games. And it's so incredible. Like you play those you're like they that's where they always have the area set up to talk for the creators to talk about their new game. They normally have the three different versions of the game set up in there. Right. And then a couple other things right under the world's greatest pinball alley sign that I dream of owning one day. Although I don't have a place to put it. I want one. Right. So yeah. And so that's it's always a lot of fun. So what we're hearing is that none of those games were set up outside. All of the that area was filled with games that were supposed to be picked up to take to Costco's. Right.

5:09Not sure if they were not picked up or why they were all there. Yeah. And maybe there was some game set up out there. Yeah. I can't imagine that room being nothing but that but I could be wrong. But if it's a Costco it could have that whole area could have been packed. That's true. And so. So then in this other room where they usually have them set up there's there's not a whole lot of spare space. Yeah. And first. So everyone goes in there for the first stick. Yeah. And then Joe I think it's like he parses us out. Yeah. They they some people go for a tour. Mm hmm. Go away for 40 minutes and then some people go out and play those the lobby games. That's usually what we end up doing. I look at this stuff but I know I have a day there. So I kind of back out and just just let it breathe. Yeah. Cause usually later in the afternoon some people leave and some people eat lunch. Right. And then we have the opportunity. Yeah. So if one of the main deterrence or one of the main areas where people go to free up space

6:15isn't there that creates like a huge just a jam. Yeah. So again we weren't there. We're hearing this second hand through like Retro Ralph's podcast. And it just happens. Every event is different. Yeah. And that's the one thing. But you could have been to make you could go to expo every year. Next year is different. Yeah. It's always different. It's the different feel different. Whatever. The world changes around you. Everything's always different. So it's not a bad. It's not a big deal. You just roll with what you got. Yeah. So I but I did miss this. It hurt. You know, I wrote we wrote to Zach. Zach said don't worry. This doesn't put you on a blacklist. You're still cool. I was like, okay. Well, he didn't call us cool. Right in my head. I heard him calling us cool. You're cool, buddy. Hey, buddy. You're cool. I'm like, oh, hey, and Jack Danger's in the room. Cool. None of that's happened. But he just said no problem. Yeah. Yeah. You know, life happens. Yeah. It was.

7:16Yeah. It was sad though. Yeah. But I was sitting at work the whole day and I'm like in my hood like, oh, I could be playing pinball right now. Exactly. But it was fine. Yeah. And they always put on a very, it's a, it is a very wonderful atmosphere. No matter, I've been there for games I could care less about. Right. The theme. Yeah. I've been there for themes I've loved. Yeah. And every time I've felt just, it's a great experience. Yeah. From start to finish. They're welcoming. They're, they have a very cool vibe going on there. Now, I'm assuming a lot of these places are like that. But maybe not. Yeah. I'm sure Benton, you know, spooky seems very cool. Yeah. Those guys seem like they're like a very, like a lot of fun. Yeah, a lot of fun. So that's, it's not every place is going to have its own culture. But, you know, I felt, every time I've been to Stern, I felt like it's a, it's a very nice environment. I feel like for every time we go to Stern, for you, it's like when I would go to Disney World.

8:22Probably. Yeah. That's dumb as that sounds. Right. And it might sound crazy, but I, I don't know. I honestly, and this, and you know, it's so easy to say this kind of dumb crap. But I honestly think that like if I work there, I would love going to work. And now that's not to say every day is great. No. But I bet you I would love it. Yeah. Like, you know what I mean? Like I would just be like, even if I was feeling like stressed out or something like that, I would go play a game or I'd go walk in the, in the, you know, by that time they would know me in the warehouse because I'd walk in there all the time. Like, oh, there's a jerk. You know, right. Wish we worked there the last couple of weeks. So, you know, it was just like it was, it's to me, it seems like it's awesome. And again, that's an outsider looking in. So that might be, this might be all the, they're the greatest actors ever. And it's horrible. But I don't think that's the truth. I doubt it. Yeah. So, so we miss it, but we have seen the videos. We watched a lot of stuff about it. Not, now we're not, I don't know anything about Fallout.

9:23I've watched the show because I'm a Walton Goggins fan for God's sake. Yes. He has freaking awesome. He is awesome. And I can't wait to hear his call outs. But if I can isolate those and put them on like a CD, I'm going to have a CD from with that with a Walter Goggins call outs on them. But there's like 12 things wrong with that sentence. Yes. But it's, when, when you watch this, it's like, wow, this thing is cool. This is like a, this is so much. It's neat stuff. They didn't call it a cornerstone. No, they had, because they said, and I, from what I understand, Studio, studio game. Yeah, studio game, because they had to increase the price. Yeah. But when you look at this thing, I'm kind of like, I see where the money is. It's jam packed. They did say that the cornerstones are still going to be the same prices that they've been. Yeah. That this is an exception because there's more on it. Right. Which I, I, when I was looking at the video, something that struck me I love the way they use that expression lighting in the armor.

10:23Yeah. Now, I know, I know a lot of places are doing it. Yeah. They're, they're, they're in, in league with their competition. But the last two transformers in this one, when I look at those, the armor has the lighting on the outside and then the inside has that expression lighting. I'm like, this game is gorgeous. Yeah. My God, it's so, it's just beautiful, you know, and I think that is a nod to some of how they're designing and how they approach it. It's just, it's always, when I'm looking at the layouts, I'm always like, even, and this even goes for like Beetlejuice. This goes for an army of dark, or, yeah, evil dead. Like modern pinball is really a sight to behold. When you walk up and you look at it and you look at, if you just take a minute to look at all that's in there and how everything interacts, it is just amazing. And this is the coders that are just killing it and the assets that are now, I'm, well, I'm not sure. I would hope that if somebody's kind of bulking at giving assets, they go, well,

11:24look at how this works and look how awesome this is. Do you want yours to be awesome or do you want to be, you know, hobbled? And so I would hope that most people are like, no, no, give them more assets. So they do more, you know, there was a number of assets. I can't remember what it was. I thought it was a huge number. That was like 200,000. That's what I think too. I don't know. I don't know. So again, we were now sadly we didn't hear it firsthand. So we're second handing it. But it was gorgeous. And there is a couple things that are kind of, that are unique and interesting. I can't wait to see those flipperless flippers on the bottom play field. Right. The magnetic, like there's a bottom play field. Like you have to get it into a scoop that takes it into the bottom. And there's like no flippers down there. But you use the flippers. And they magnetically, Yes. Hop around. Right. That's cool. And I have a feeling once you get used to that, it's very, it probably becomes, I want to say intuitive, because you can adjust my brain can imagine where flippers are. Right.

12:24You see them a million times. So I'm curious about that. I love the way that vault works. I can't wait to hear that. Yeah. And it just, there's a lot of games. And this one now is like, I can't wait to play this one. Right. If they, if a lumberjack has it up at, up at Green Bay, well, we're driving to Green Bay for the alley because I got to play the alley. I got to see this thing. Right. Like the jam packed one. I don't mind, you know, out and about when you're playing a pro that never, you're in, you're in a bar. Mm-hmm. You're not, you shouldn't expect to walk up to a alley or whatever like that at a bar, you know, that's where pros live. Because they're going to get kicked and beer spilled on them and stuff. Right. And then the lumberjack's kind of breaks the mold a lot of times they do have their, their CEs and their LEs out in the wild for a little bit. And then they mostly move up to, then they move up to Green Bay. And which is better than me because they'd be moving up to my house. So they are much more kind harder than I would be, but that's cool.

13:28So I can't wait to play this game. I really can. Right. And, you know, that was about it. I watched the videos and I was like, and I knew the show, I watched the show, I've tried to watch Fallout the show like three times. And I've gotten into it. Yeah. And I'll get along like two or three episodes and I'm like, and I just never get back to it. And it's not that I don't like the experience. I just, I guess, I just don't like, I don't have any vested interests or I don't like care. Yeah. You know, it's an post on the pop, pop elliptic world. Which is what most of the movies are that you watch. And mine are like B or L, B to Z grade. That is what I like. Mostly Z, I think. I like when you could kind of see the microphone dipping into the frame and you know, I mean, like, I, the guy's not really an actor, but here's some booze money. He'll be a zombie. That's, that's the kind of post-apop to like the world I like, you know. Yeah. That's very true. Cyborg or lower level, which is a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie called Cyborg. So it's something.

14:28Oh, but we did also get something from Emma after the media event. Like they're, they're a kind of official release thing that they're using the insider connect for like, for like it advances along. And once you do a certain what S P E C special, I don't know what that all stands for. Right. I'm sure once I play it, I'll be like, oh, well, I got to see. And there's a, yeah. So I think once you get all those, then your characters level up and you have more stuff that you can achieve. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. It was cool. They're also continually building on the insider connect and making this such a huge thing. I know. Hopefully this month we should be getting the insider connect for Pokemon. Oh, that's right. George Gomez put that out. I think it's mid September. So finally, they've approved and going with it and I cannot wait. And you can see your Poke decks. Oh my God. The Pokemon. Yeah. Right.

15:28Right. Also update the guy who builds aliens of destruction, the video game. He has a really big collection of EMs and looks like we've agreed on a price and he's going to come up and grab up the golden arrow, got lead machine from me. Nice. I think he's going to get a good machine. I thought it's a really nice machine. He'll probably find some stuff to fix and tinker with. Yeah. You would. But I think I'm passing off a pretty good machine and then that is going to go right into our whatever comes next one. You know what the next fall out. Fall. Fall. Fall. Deadpool. No, no, no, no. Ultraman. No, no. The house of us should follow the house of usher. No, that's weird. No, that's a. Come on. I say it. Probably Star Wars fall of the Empire. In fact, we're so far along that that I've actually started looking at places to buy

16:29the lightsabers for Luke and Darth Vader and have that on like a samurai so it racked behind it so we can light them up and like, you know, have had the lightsabers as we're playing Fall of the Empire. Oh, dare to dream everyone. I'm finally had you say it out loud. Yes. I know. Oh, that's a really good game. That's still a very expensive game too though. That's okay. Okay. You're like, it's okay that we're in debt. Yeah. We do this. We borrow against our bank and pay back. Yeah. We're not even clear from El Vira. Does everyone remember that show? Was that show like eight or something that would show 105 or six? It's been a while, but we're good for it. We pay everything back and then eventually that we. It's almost done. Then we start chiseling away at the next one, which I guess apparently it's going to be. The Empire. Yes. I have to also see, oh, we're doing a, we've got our stuff together for a gift basket.

17:29Oh, yes. And then we're going to do again this year. I think that's probably going to be every year. And we'll just put some goodies in there. Often invent things in my head. And then just run with it. It's an easier way to go through life. Huge backstory in the person that bought our basket. Wow.

18:30Hopefully whoever buys wins it this year enjoys it. We'll have some cool stuff in there. You were thinking of Lindy, who is our friend from ladies flip. Probably. Yes. And she did not win the basket at Expo. Right. That's what I said all along. I'm sick and do it. Although I could just scooch back this little needle and say exactly what I said. I'm not going to do that. We don't need to. It's okay, everyone. So other than that, I'm trying to think what else is going on. Nothing to hold on a whole lot. Expo's in like what? A month? Yeah. It's like, oh my god, there's so many new games. I think this happened last year before Expo 2. Yeah. Because I mean, there was a bunch of stuff that came out. You go, oh, that's right. Yeah. And that's like, hold the hat now because, oh, that's right. There's a Beetlejuice and all that's right. There's evil dead. And oh, yeah, there's. Mm-hmm. Right. Okay. So those are the top three. 22:36You've been to all the breweries all around. You've been running out of time. Tell me what to drink until I fall on the ground. Yeah. Somebody put some beer in my mug. I don't know how to say it. I don't either. I think if we were from here originally, we would know how to say it. There's an exclamation point in the name. So there you go. So it is OPE exclamation point north. OPE. OPE. OPE. OPE. I don't know. OPE. There's up here. OPE. There's up here. Remember that song from the 80s, 90s? So anyway. There's a beer, remember? Anyway, this is the second location for this brewery. They created this huge area in Appleton on college Avenue.

23:42So they opened the tap room, which is huge. It's like almost like a warehouse size. And oh, it's big. Yeah. So it looks like there's a stage in there. And then there's a bar outside. There was volleyball courts. I think once this is all done, they're going to have like a dog wash, some pickleball courts. It's like everything is volleyball. There's volleyball courts. It's like everything. Yes. This place was slammed. Yeah. So we were there on Saturday. It's like, oh, I don't want a clock. Which that's going to be, I don't want to say peak, but that's real when there's going to be a lot of people out and about. And there was a lot of people there. It was like there was a really long line for the to get your drinks at the bar, like the inside bar. And this is where something that happened that I've never heard happen in the history of happening.

24:43Crap, I'm sitting there because I'm not partaking. And Crap D'Roussali comes back to the table with a beer. And I look at her and she's very befuddled. Yes. I was very befuddled. Because I'm standing in the long ass line. And I'm like, OK, looking at the beers and like, OK, I have it narrowed down to four. Right. Because normally a flight is four. Sometimes five. Or six. But these are the four that I'm definitely getting. So I get to the front. And I said, I would like to get a flight. And he's like, well, we're not doing those right now. The line is too long. The line is too long. And when you came back and sat down and I'm looking at, I was like, well, there's a flight. Yeah, there was like four or five people right around. And I had flights. But not in the line. And then by the time you got halfway through your beer, the line was gone. I was like, yeah, I don't know about this. Oh, oh, oh, oh, I don't know. I don't know how to say it. Should have asked. I know I should have.

25:43But they were too busy. Yeah, too busy. Can't give you a flight. Can't give you how to say the name. You know. So I had their half a wise in, which was really good. Yeah, you were saying. It was tasty. And it was kind of like a little fizzier than the most half a wise in, but in a good way. It was very tasty, very refreshing. Yeah. And then I got, because there wasn't a line then, I just got one four ounce pour up one of their IPAs. Yeah. Buckle up, dude. And it was really good. It was one of my favorite IPAs. That's saying something because you have a lot of IPAs. They do. Yeah. Pretty much craft brew is like the land of random IPAs where they just dump more and more hop for their IPAs. You're like, okay. I did realize that I should get more half a wise in. No, because I really like them. Yeah, you do. That was nice. I mean, this place is obviously very new. Yeah. There's a lot of lessons to be learned.

26:44Yeah. I think you're going to learn that you shouldn't have that much headspace when you're heating a place for winter in Wisconsin. Right. So, the heating bill is going to be about $28 trillion a week. I think one of the problems is going to be their parking situation there. Yeah. Because they have a giant billboard in one of their parking lots, which I'm sure they couldn't get around. So, like that whole side, the other side it's not done yet might be all parking too. Right. But it's not. It doesn't seem very big. Yeah. There'll be some weird and like also, like, as I'm sitting there and like you're saying, this is a huge place and it feels very nice. Yeah. But in the winter in Wisconsin, it gets very cold and lots of headspace and also those garage doors that they open. Yeah. They're not exactly known for being keeping the heat out, you know, or the cold out. Yeah. So, it might be, mostly, yeah. It might be okay. I'm excited to go back because next time I hope to get a flight. Yeah. Well, you know, and maybe it's some of those things where if we're off during the week,

27:45or something like that, we can hit it up and it'll be fine, you know, it's not a... I think it's in an area where there isn't much going on. Yeah. Like, there's that place that you like to go to, a thrift store. St. Vinnie's. Yeah. And then there's like not too much else going on around there. There's like one restaurant and then a bunch of car dealers. Yeah. So, I think it's in a spot where it was needed. Right. So, that's why I think it's going to be really busy there. I think so. And like, if all their beer's are as good as you're saying, they're going to be full. So, yeah. It was neat. So, there you go. It was. It had a lot of taxi-dermy stuff going on, which I'm not a huge super fan of, but... Right. It wasn't overbearing. Right. It just was some stuff hanging on the wall. You're like, okay, whatever. But they did have the, they had dark boards too. Yeah. A lot of stuff. Like, they had a lot going on in that one spot. And once they have it finished, I think... I think it might go all the way over to St.Venis. Yeah.

28:45And I will say, the important thing is, when you walk in, we saw babies and dogs. So, or if the fact, you know this is a craft-ruplates, because you can't go into a booze-filled craft-ruplates without, there's the baby's spot. There's a dog running around. There you go. Perfect. We're... If they have seven to eight IPAs on that menu board, we are officially a craft-ruplates. They have like three or four. Or, they're working up to it. Yep. That's funny. That's not really what it is. It's a... The very first one you took me to, I was like, why are there babies here? And I think that was paradise. Yeah, and it was just people and strollers and booze longer there. Which is no longer there. And then, and then I was like, why is there a dog picking my pocket? I don't like that. Get out of my pocket, you know. So, yeah, it's just what, that's just what happens. Right. You know. I guess it's one of those things where if you don't sell a lot of food, you can have animals there. Yeah. If you'll enjoy an active lifestyle with your active hair and dogs and kids, you should go to this craft-ruplates, park your Jeep out front and make sure to bring your stuff.
