Plastic is Convenient but How Safe is it in the Kitchen

In this episode, we talk about the composition of different kinds of plastics used in the kitchen and what those numbers in triangles mean on the bottom of containers.  Petroleum based plastics are comprised of thousands of chemicals.  At what point do we as consumers demand that all products be safe--with no exposure to hazardous chemicals?  We can't assume that manufacturers and big dollar corporations are sincerely looking out for our health and welfare.  Follow the money.
