Hey, Energizer, Spencer here, and welcome to this episode of the Daily Energized.
I hope you are ready for an amazing day, and a day filled with love, with joy, with incredible
opportunities, because I promise you, it is there, out there, and is sharing and showing
itself to you.
Although life can be tricky at times, it can be sneaky, and not always as beautiful as
we may want it to be.
And not only life, sometimes our mind doesn't make us feel that way, right?
It focuses on the negatives of like, ugh, I feel like crap this morning, back hurts,
or my neighbor's jerk, and I'm struggling with them, or work is really stressful, and
we feel that way, that heaviness.
And it's just like our mind is so focused on the negatives in our life, instead of the
positives.
Now yes, that does happen, it happens to a lot of people, myself, included at times, but
one of the things that I've learned over the years, and it was one of the first couple
things that I really started learning and focusing on when I got into personal growth,
was to build this positive and abundant mindset.
And I've talked about this before, many, many episodes ago, I'm focused on it even more
so, so it's been a little while.
But I want to come back to it.
And now yes, it could sound all light and fluffy, and just like, oh yay, happiness, yay!
You hit a card in the sunshine, rainbows, yay!
And yes, they can feel like that at times, but I, true, actually, I know, I not only do
I believe in my heart and parts, I know the science, and I see the science behind it,
that when you start to shift, to find the positives, to look for the good in the world,
the silver linings as it were.
When you start to look for those things, you start to see more of it.
You see, life has an algorithm, just like social media does, what you focus on, you get
more of.
It's the same idea as, was it the red car factor buying a car, or are you like, oh, I haven't
seen a, I don't know, let's say, a yellow car, right, I barely remember seeing a yellow
car.
And so, now that's in your mind, oh, yellow car, and so now you're driving, you're like,
oh, well, there's one, and oh, there's one, or like, you think, ah, I haven't seen anyone
buy this car, have this car, so you bought it, and you're like, oh, cool, I'm gonna be
the only one on the block who has it, and then as you're driving home, you're like, oh,
crap, there's one, and there's one, and there's one, and it's not as unique as you once
done.
Nothing bad, or anything against it, it's just how our brain works.
Oh, I should have looked this up before I record this episode.
It's reticular activating system, the RAS, that's what it's reticular activating system.
If I remember that correctly, is what causes you to see these things?
Well, that's one of the things that helps you find the positive.
So if you focus on the negatives, so if you focus on the negatives in life, guess what,
your reticular activating system is going to start focusing on the negatives.
Oh, well, this sucks.
Well, look at that.
That's crap in the world, and well, this sucks, and all this hurts too, and it's just
going to be the snowball effect of negativity.
Well, what if we turn it around and change it and say, all right, let's look for the
positives.
Yes, my heart.
It's difficult.
My back hurts.
I'm stressed out.
What's a positive?
Oh, hey, this cup of coffee is really good.
My family loves me.
I have a home.
Go big and obvious, and even down to the seemingly small and insignificant things, but be grateful
for those and find them a little bit here, a little bit over here, big ones over here,
and that rad system is going to click in, and you're going to start noticing more and
more positives.
And that's how we start to build this highway of positivity in our brain.
Our brain starts to rewire it.
Neuroplasticity is an amazing thing.
It can rewire, and you can rewire your brain.
It is possible science has shown a time and time and time again, but just like a walking
of half in the woods.
If you do it once, great, there's a path.
When you look behind you, you're like, well, I don't really see the path, but I got
here through there.
So, okay.
Until you walk it a couple times, and then it starts to become a noticeable path.
And then you keep doing it, it becomes hiking trail, and then a one-lane road, and then
a two-lane road until super highway.
Well, the same thing goes for our positive thoughts.
And looking for the bright side of things, and looking for the lessons, all of those positive
all, you know, sunshine, rainbows, unicorns, it's not that you're unrealistic, but you're
looking for, oh, hey, this is a lesson, hey, here's how I can learn to grow.
Oh, this is good.
This is beneficial.
And you keep doing that, and the RAS system is going to help you do that, but you have
to still be intentional, because it doesn't happen automatically.
Doing it once doesn't automatically click in, you have to do it a couple times, and a
couple more times, and then start to build this habit, and then you start to see and feel
this incredible change.
And it's also cool to science to show on how finding and seeing those positives helps
you physically, that the chemistry in your body changes.
Not only do you rewire your brain, but the chemistry in your body changes, so you can
be shining brighter as I call it, aka, you being full-authentic self with positive energy.
It's freaking amazing.
So my challenge for you today is to find three positives.
What are three positives?
Small or obscure or large and obvious, doesn't matter, but three positives.
And you know what?
If you want to show me up, I invite you to show me up with this challenge.
Find 10, find 20, find as many positives as you can, and don't just see them, don't just
acknowledge them cognitively, feel them, they're like, hmm, I feel like, hmm, I feel
love of my family in my heart, like, you feel that warm.
Hey, I have a home, and you're like, I'm grateful for my house, my food, water, shelter,
car, and you feel that in your heart, because that's where the magic happens.
So, that's all I got for today.
I hope you take on that challenge, go find those positives, keep shining bright, and until
next time, I'll catch you later.
