On April 1, 2026, the City of Prescott’s Utilities Division began its annual surface water recharge operations at Watson Lake in accordance with state permitting requirements. As part of this process, water levels at Watson Lake will gradually decrease over the next several weeks. The target level is approximately 7 feet below the spillway, representing about a 5-foot reduction from current levels. Water released from the lake will flow down Granite Creek, where it will be collected and transferred to the Airport Recharge Basins.
