April is National Volunteer Month, and the Prescott National Forest is recognizing the outstanding contributions of the 1,219 volunteers who supported the forest in 2025. Volunteers contributed 43,955.25 hours of service last year. Volunteer support spanned a wide range of essential work, including watershed improvements and stewardship projects, fish and wildlife monitoring and habitat restoration, customer service at recreation sites and offices, heritage site monitoring, wilderness and non‑wilderness trail maintenance and construction, and recreation site maintenance.
