On September 4th, so, Prince's estate dropped a new album called Timeless, featuring 10 unreleased tracks spanning his whole career, from 19, 77, all the way up to 2016. This dropped around the 10-year mark of his passing, and they've already put out a couple of singles with this tear and stone. Now, there's been some chatter, some fan theories, about whether artificial intelligence was used to finish up one of the tracks, Calabama. The estate put out a statement to clear the air on that. They explained that for Calabama, they brought in horn players who actually work with Prince back in the day. These musicians overdubbed Prince's original synth track with horns, just like he would've wanted, and this version is the one that made it onto Timeless. All of Prince's original parts are still there, with the horns added by Greg Boyer, Adrian Crutchfield, and Lynn Grissit. The estate stressed that no AI was involved in any of Prince's music, and for all the other songs on Timeless, there weren't even any posthumous.
Overdub's. They also mentioned that Prince's vault is massive, and they don't think unfinished music should be kept from fans, as long as it's handled with. Respect and aligns with his creative vision. They're planning to share more details about the music, and once it keeps communication open and respectful within the Prince fan community, it's all about honoring his legacy, and making sure his incredible body of work reaches the people who appreciated. That's your music news today update. AI powered and always on.
