James Shippy is a Portland-based Breaking News Anchor for KOIN 6 and a professional audiobook narrator who specializes in the art of the "career pivot." A Texas native and UCLA graduate, James spent years in Los Angeles pursuing acting and screenwriting before transitioning into journalism during the pandemic. After rising through the ranks at KXL FM News, he joined the KOIN 6 morning team in 2024. Today, he balances his broadcast career with his passion for storytelling, using his personal journey to inspire others to embrace reinvention and find purpose through unconventional paths.
