Rams Trade for McDuffie, Bet Big on 2023

On April 5th, the Los Angeles Rams pulled off a huge trade this off-season, grabbing

corner-back Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs.

They sent over a first-round pick and some extra assets, then locked him up with a $124

million dollar four-year extension right away.

This fits their win now push, especially after last season's ups and downs on defense.

One NFL executive nailed why this makes sense, telling the athletic they don't mind the

cost at all.

With Stafford healthy and the team still in contention, you got to swing for another ring

while you can.

They didn't empty the tank completely either, holding onto their 13th overall first-round

pick from the Atlanta Falcons deal.

That gives them firepower for both right now and down the road.

McDuffie shores up their secondary just in time, setting the Rams up strong for whatever
