Raven Johnson's Historic Game: 1K Points, Sweet 16

On March 24th, Raven Johnson played her final game at Colonial Life Arena on Monday night,

closing a big chapter in her South Carolina career.

The top seeded game cocks Crush 9th Seed at Southern California by a score of 101 to 61,

earning a spot in their 12th straight.

Sweet 16. Johnson hit a major milestone during the second quarter,

scoring her 1,000th career point off of steel and fast break layup.

She's now the 41st player in program history to reach that mark,

in the second this season alone. Fans filled the arena with chance of her name after the win,

giving her a special solo moment on the court.

Coach Don Staley shared a long hug with Johnson when she checked out for the last time at home,

praising her focus and drive for another title.

This game marked Johnson's 150th appearance,

tying her for second all time at South Carolina.

Over five years, the team has racked up a 176th and 10 record with her on the roster.

Johnson's not dwelling on the moment yet, with the tournament still ahead,

and a national championship in sight for this veteran squad.
