RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays bounce back and CRUSH the Cincinnati Reds

The Rays picked up a much-needed win, beating the Reds 6–1. Tampa Bay finally got off to a hot start, putting up three runs in the 2nd inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Ben Williamson to take a 3–0 lead. Then in the 3rd inning, Junior Caminero hit a monster home run to make it 4–0.

 

The Reds got a run back in the 5th to make it 4–1, but the Rays answered right back in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single from Ryan Vilade to extend the lead to 5–1. Tampa Bay added another run in the 7th to make it 6–1.

 

Nick Martinez started for the Rays and turned in the best performance by any Rays pitcher this year. He went 8 innings, striking out six and allowing just one run.

 

The Rays have an off day tomorrow before taking on the Twins over the weekend.
