Cody Ponds made a solid debut, tossing two innings with four hits, one earned run and two strikeouts. For the Jays, it was another close loss early in camp, but some bright spots emerged on both sides of the ball. Pitching was a mixed bag beyond Ponds. Tyler Rogers gave up two hits and one run in his inning. Brandon Little impressed with three strikeouts and no runs. Spencer Miles hit 96 miles per hour on the gun, while striking out three over two frames. Others, like Jorge Alcala and Devor O'Harrison, allowed home runs. On offense, Addison Barger stole the show with a grand slam and four runs batted in. Charles McAdoo added a home run, and Eloy Jimenez ripped a double.
