Red Sox Manager Excited for Monasterio's Power Boost

Boston Red Sox Manager, Alex Cora, is excited about infielder Andrew Monasterio's progress

as the team gears up for the 2026 season.

Cora calls him a solid athlete and says the club is fine-tuning his swing to pull the ball more

in the air. This should help him generate extra base hits at Fenway Park.

They're applying the same approach to Caleb Durbin, another recent addition.

The goal is to take advantage of Fenway's unique setup,

especially the green monster and left field.

Monasterio already handles left-handed pitch as well, which gives him an edge.

Monasterio broke into the majors with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2023

as a versatile utility infielder.

Last year in 2025, he had his best season yet,

hitting 270 with a 319 on-base and 437 slugging over.

68 games. He added 4 home runs, 16 runs batted in, and 9 doubles.

The Red Sox picked him up in a trade back in February 2026

that also landed Durbin.

Across his career in 219 games, he's batted 250 with 8 home runs and 59 runs batted in.

These changes could boost his power and make him a bigger part of Boston's push

for American League contention next year.
