Reform UK Wins Bury By-Election, Gains Council Seat

On April 3rd, Reform UK's George Martin just snagged the Tottington by-election in

Berry, pulling in 929 votes to become the Party's 3rd Counselor on the Burrow Council.

He beat out the conservative runner-up Emma Elizabeth Lee, with 627 votes, Labor's

Drew Keanuvel at 346, and others trailing further back.

The seat opened up after together for Berry's Luis McBrire, stepped down to chase a career

in the police, leaving a vacancy that reformed capitalized on.

Martin now joins colleagues Jack Ryderherd and Glenn Marsden in the Chambers, marking

a solid gain for the Upstar Group.

Residents push for this early poll on May 2nd, skipping the chance to bundle it with the

full local elections on May 7th.

Turn out hit a decent 31%, showing folks in Tottington cared enough to show up.

With this win, Berry counsels lineup shifts to Labor holding 32 seats, raccliffe first

with 7.
