A story where Kenna, recently released from prison after being responsible for the death of her ex-boyfriend Scotty, returns to town hoping to establish a relationship with her young daughter, Diem, who is being raised by Scotty’s parents, Grace and Patrick, and is coached in T-ball by Ledger. Kenna and Ledger develop a complicated, secret relationship, with Ledger struggling to reconcile his love for Diem and her grandparents with his growing feelings for Kenna and his empathy for her difficult past.
