A new episode of the documentary about the Gilgo Beach murders will be out this week,
0:16
and it focuses on Rex Heurman admitting to his wife that he killed eight women.
0:22
Questions have always been swirling around Rex Heurman's house in Massapique,
0:26
Wapark, and whether the victims were killed in the basement.
0:30
And now according to his ex-wife on the final peacock episode on the murders,
0:37
He said I wasn't home during all of them.
0:41
Why any of them killed in the house?
0:42
He said yes, they were killed in his room downstairs.
0:45
She says before Heurman pleaded guilty, she had another question for him.
0:49
Can you tell me how many of these women did you kill?
0:54
Heurman is said to be sentenced to life behind bars on June 17th.

Police are asking for your help finding two people who stabbed a security guard
1:06
at a city MD in the Bronx.
1:08
This happened last Tuesday at the city MD on East 170th Street in the Mount Eden section.
1:13
The NYPD says a man and a woman got into some kind of verbal dispute
1:18
with the 21 year old security guard, then stabbed him in the back,
1:22
sprayed him with pepper spray, and punched and kicked him in the face.
1:27
They fled the scene in a white Kia SUV.
1:30
The security guard was taken to the hospital where thankfully he's in stable condition.
1:34
We have photos of those two suspects on our social media pages.
1:37
You can find them at 1010 Wins.
1:39
Anyone with any information about the two is asked to call crime stoppers.
1:44
The city's largest police union has filed a federal lawsuit against the civilian complaint review board.
1:51
PVA president Patrick Hendry says the review board is publicly releasing
1:56
what the union calls stigmatizing and unsubstantiated claims of sexual misconduct,
2:02
racial profiling, and perjury made against city cops.
2:05
This is the first ever federal lawsuit against the civilian complaint review board.
2:10
And we're going to continue to monitor this lawsuit and look at other ones
2:15
that possibly might come up in the future here because a lot of issues,
2:19
what CCRB is doing, they're not a legitimate organization,
2:22
and they're hurting all police officers' careers.
2:25
In the suit, the union says the CCRB is responding to a freedom of information requests
2:31
by releasing allegations made against the officers, even if they haven't been yet substantiated.
2:36
We've reached out to the CCRB for comment, but we have not yet heard back.

3:08
In the latest push to protect kids from the harmful impacts of social media,
3:13
there's a bill in the City Council that would limit the amount of time that young kids can spend online.
3:19
Can the government tell you how long you can use social media every day?
3:23
A City Council committee report finds 78% of parents think government should restrict access
3:29
to certain types of social media content for kids.
3:33
There is a proposal specifically aimed at young kids, which would cap their social media use at one hour a day.
3:39
But parents would have the power to make exceptions.
3:42
Other bills would ban targeted advertising toward minors, and mandate a report from the City
3:47
about social media's impact on kids' mental health.

Mayor Mamdani is planning a redesign of Brooklyn's Lyndon Boulevard.
3:59
This comes after the deaths of two people recently on the boulevard, including a four-year-old, by hit and run drivers.
4:05
Lyndon Boulevard has always been busy, but people around here say it could be known as the boulevard of death,
4:12
because of how hard it is to cross the street, and how many fatal accidents they've seen at some of these intersections
4:18
of Lyndon Boulevard that stretches for miles.
4:21
But Mayor Mamdani's new plan would make bus lanes fill up Lyndon Boulevard,
4:26
and they would make it off limits to passenger cars 24 hours a day.
4:31
He says it would help speed up bus service, and also make it much safer for people to actually cross the street that do live around here,
4:38
which neighbors in the area are really hoping works, because they say at times it could take up to 20 minutes just across a single intersection.

5:01
as won a Webby for politics, advocacy, and branded content.
5:05
It won four social media posts like this one that wanted to fight Halal Flation.
5:10
I was the mayor. I'd be working with City Council from day one to make Halal eight bucks again.
5:17
It tastes like ten bucks, but it should be eight.
5:19
And Timothy Schalamay for Cash App was the winner for short form branded entertainment.
5:24
Other winners included Good Hang with Amy Poler for Best Host Features Podcasts,
5:29
