Hey everybody, how are you doing? I'll be talking about a movie called River Bend and this is a movie I was surprised I never heard about
There's a movie called Steve James, we don't know Steve James, he's a black martial artist
We know him more for the American Ninja movies
And he made a lot of action movies here there
But also if you said the movie I'm gonna get you a sucker, he played the martial artist in that black exploitation parody movie
And this movie I would say is more of a drama and you would think it's more martial arts
But it's really more of a drama movie
It does have martial arts and action scenes in the movie mixed in
But it has like a message
It's about a town that suffers racism
The sheriff, he rules this town like with an iron fist
He kills black people for no reason
He used black women, he put fear in the town for a lot of the black population
And still one day three military officers were able to escape the military police
And they head to this town called River Bend, then just to hide out
When the fellow that this town has problems, Steve and James Calder, who's the leader of the three military people that's with him
They teach the black men of this town to survive and try to stand up for themselves against the evil sheriff
And later on the movie became more political when they held the white population hostage in a church
So they can make, so they get reporters to come down and the governor to come down to let them know what's going on in this town
All in all, I feel like this movie was good, it was very enjoyable to watch
There's some scenes that might be like since it's towards viewers
You know how the white sheriff mistreated one of the females
I know a lot of people don't like to see scenes like that, I don't like to see scenes like that
But you know, decided to say it goes with the movie, right? It's part of the story
But at the end it was a nice ending
You know, it gives a message like I said about black and white in the racial town
And you know, it's pretty much making a statement
All in all, definitely check this movie out, I highly enjoyed it
I checked this one on YouTube, I'm not sure if this is on TV, but every is on YouTube available to watch now
So I'm glad somebody was nice enough to post it
I believe it's a public domain movie because I don't know if this was, I won't blow out what
