Rome Resources CEO: New Brunswick has 'potential for being a very large mineralised area'

Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) CEO Paul Barrett spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest exploration results from the New Brunswick project and the potential scale of its tin, tungsten, indium and bismuth mineralisation. Barrett said Rome's optioned ground covers just under 200 square kilometres, much of it underlain by the Mount Douglas granite, with the exploration team gathering sampl Victoria Lake is emerging as a key target. Historical workings on the lake's eastern side focused on tungsten, while limited previous drilling showed tin mineralisation continuing at depth. Barrett said the team has identified a zone roughly 300 metres wide containing tin and tungsten, with surface sampling the focus so far and trenching a possible next step to reach fresh rock. Barrett also discussed the potential for indium and bismuth, pointing to the nearby Mount Pleasant deposit and describing indium as a niche, high-tech metal. At Round Square Lake, Rome has recorded a surface sample containing almost 1% bismuth. Looking ahead, the summer programme is expected to continue for around another month, potentially into October, before results are reviewed in November - when the company will decide whether to move straight to drilling or carry out further trenching to better define the targets.
