He makes me slice down and green pageant. He leads me beside us still whore. He
restores my soul. He leads me in the righteous for his nice sake. He I walk
through a valid shelter of death. I will see a no evil. I will see a no evil. For
there are with, for they are with me. They rot and they starve. They comfort me.
They comfort me. And they prepare a table before me in the place of my enemies.
They may end their place or my enemies. They are known that my head with ore. My
cousin running over. My grandma had mercy. She'll be good in mercy. She'll follow me
all the days of my life. And I will. He will. Everybody everybody say oh if
you're grown on with a head to pinch you. All right.
Boy.
Hold it. He's a handsome man. It's Gary. I want to help you to the team. It's Gary.
Gary have the team in the collute all the day. Good morning Gary. Good morning,
Ricky. Good morning America. Good morning to you. It starts day of
beautiful. Beautiful day in the neighborhood. And here's what's happening in
celebrity news. Y'all with everything that I had half is coming from the Lord. Y'all.
And Todd talking to wonderful ex-husband of Miss Canterbury. Y'all is making that
real clear. Y'all need to say that at the former real housewife Atlanta star
had foresight. Y'all his message after he dropped the video while talking about
starting a new relationship shortly after his divorce from Miss Canterbury was
finalized. Now they're saying y'all on Sunday that Mr. Tucker shared after his
divorce with reporting, including our only $426,000 love sum settlement. He made
a promise y'all to himself to reconnect with his fate. And here's what Todd said.
All right, y'all. I went to church where it was great. It's what I took from it.
To find your peace is to rendering everything that you can't control.
So rendering it over to God, the peace will begin. But with peace,
doesn't mean you don't have problems. It's not the problems we'll have you.
So with that being said, man, it's a beautiful Sunday. I enjoyed service.
Hey, I'm not perfect. I'm gonna take it one day at a time.
Since I met Jesus, it's been a burning. Oh, such a burning deep down
within your song. In the end, filled for this.
In a time somebody give it up to the Lord. Yes, we are grateful. We are grateful. My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my.
Yes, Lord. I am so excited. And the light people saying this is wonderful.
There'd be another Lord, but there'd be another calm unto Jesus.
Wow, come on, Brett, you have time.
Yes, Gloria, yes, honey.
So I'm excited about people saying,
you know, if they wish he would have found the Lord,
before he encended the Lord, because that
would have been great.
It would have been wonderful together.
But you know, you find him when you find him.
And this is wonderful that he's
sought out the Lord and the Lord is here in his cry.
So congratulations to Todd and his newfound relationship.
All right, moving on.
I said, I'm just loving the new y'all, baby.
It's Jill Scott, baby.
This girl is speaking out.
She talked about honey.
She said when she met Rita Franklin, honey,
and she said, you know, it's not what you thought it was.
Now, they're saying that Jill is saying that, you know,
she met Rita Franklin.
It was a surprising person, kind of, between the two.
Powerhouse vocals, you know.
And she said that, you know, it was just really interesting.
Not sure that, you know, she told,
she, at least she spoke out on a podcast.
And she shared that minimum moments
when she first met Rita.
And she said, it didn't go how she expected.
And a lot of people said, well, girl, no, she said,
Rita Franklin sent her to get two hot dogs
and we cooked onions and mustard.
Now, the single explain y'all that after introducing herself,
Ms. Franklin simply responded, trying to go get,
go to the corner and give me two hot dogs
we cooked onions and mustard.
She said, she went.
Now, she said, despite already having made
the success at the time, she's saying that, you know,
she just couldn't believe that, you know,
that Ms. Franklin, you know, she just couldn't think,
I have two number one albums on it in the country.
And she said, I just waited.
She said, I don't even think she ate them dogs
on high dogs.
I reflected on that experience, Jill and Media,
that initially it caught off guard,
but ultimately became a lesson, y'all.
Here's what the lesson.
She said, quote, I would, one, say be nice to the people.
She said, laugh and she said, too,
you gotta earn your stretch.
She said, now she says that she understands
the deep of me behind Ms. Franklin's ass.
She said, don't waste it.
Don't waste my time.
Don't waste your time.
She said, it is definitely too valuable.
And that's good.
You know, some people said, well, girl, no,
she shouldn't have done it to you.
But she said, no, she learned.
So that's a question I want to ask you,
when you first started coming,
did you go introduce yourself to Richard Parade
or somebody and say, oh, I'm Ricky Smiley
and he like, hand, did that ever happen to you?
No, that never happened to me.
I met Paul Mooney when I was working for BET.
He was very nice to me.
He pointed at me.
He said, let me tell you something.
He said, you funny.
He pointed at me.
I'm talking like pointed at this thing.
He said, you funny.
He said, I know who you are.
He said, you funny.
And he kept walking out and never forget how
they made me feel it and inspire me.
And I remember how Steve and George Wallace
and all of them, all of the comments that I met
treated me really, really nice.
It was really nice.
He had a lot of advice, a lot of critique,
and I made me a better comic.
Well, that's good.
Well, she said it was a lesson learned.
And it is good.
It's good that y'all learn lessons like that.
I mean, have you bred a special care
and the other celebrities have ever met someone
and got introduced to yourself?
And they like, you know what?
Shaka Khan was mean to me one time.
And a wreath of Franklin was too.
Shaka Khan was mean to me on the red carpet
when I was interviewing her because I was like, really?
Yeah, I was like, oh my gosh, I was so fangirling.
And I was like, Shaka Khan, Shaka Khan.
Oh no, Shaka Khan was like, she was like,
she was like, she was like, she was like,
she was like, that was the wrong thing to do.
She didn't know.
She was, oh my gosh, it was a, it was a, it was a fail,
a huge fail.
Yeah, just, just, just, hey, yeah,
just a, hey, pleasure to meet you and just get right into it.
Yeah, it was embarrassing.
Yeah.
I don't forget, I don't want to,
I'm not calling anything, but one of my co-workers
was introduced to, you know, a higher upper with the company.
And the higher upper just like, okay.
Oh yeah.
I remember they were saying.
I know you do.
I know you know, we said that when I was...
Oh, she said, she said, tell my Miss Kathy here.
She said, I know who you are.
She said, I signed your contract.
I'll write you a chick, baby.
I know who you are.
I did, baby.
And then she and like she was, uh, been to do something or she walked out.
I didn't want to say it.
I'm glad you did.
I was like, I'm like, oh, my gosh, this is kind of you.
I know you, I know you listen to, I know you listen to the show.
It's called me.
You know what I'm talking about.
Yeah, baby.
This girl, like, she, she had like, she had like, she's just gonna go get something for her and come back.
She never came back.
All right.
The color of the day, I did one of my favorite colors.
The color of the day is leak green on the high.
You say leak green and on the Lord just say khaki.
That should come on for the day.
Hey, I miss miss age.
I ain't gonna say nothing on the radio.
Text me because I know you listen to the show every morning.
Text me miss age.
I bet you can't know who we talk about.
And you have a twice, Ricky.
Oh, I miss age.
Miss age, you got us laid out this morning.
All right, miss age, if you tell me right now, I'll cook you something.
I promise.
Oh, no, I just got my, but I got my chest.
I mean, yeah, she said, hey, I'm such a, such a, such a, you know, I mean, they say, okay,
yeah, I know who you are.
She said, I read the check and she, like, she, like, she's gonna go get something for her.
She doesn't feel between all the people.
Same, man.
Well, people, people, people, people be thinking they important, boy, that's a,
and she picked up on energy, but she knows she knows she knows a real one.
I tell you what, Kathy Hughes, our boss, she knows a real one.
She knows what somebody to play in a love face.
That's for sure.
Man, what up Rick, good morning, everybody.
Good to be with you all this morning.
Happy to have you.
Hello, Jim.
So, man, listen, we are now entering into another edition of President Trump versus the Constitution.
I mean, he is at war with the Constitution in ways that I don't even think
we can always keep up with.
This week, we saw President Trump be the first sitting president ever
to go to a hearing of the Supreme Court.
Right.
And he was going because it was his case
around his executive order, around birthright citizenship.
And Trump said, we're the only country in the world stupid enough
to allow birthright citizenship.
That's a quote.
I mean, that exactly is what he said.
You all, this is literally enshrined in the Constitution since the 14th amendment
was ratified in 1868.
And his executive order was immediately hit with lawsuits
from all kinds of immigrants, rights groups and states attorney generals
and lower court rulings blocked it from taking effect.
So, he, and he tweeted that on,
boy, tweeted that, he put it on true social,
an hour after leaving the court.
And so, we don't know where this is going to be yet.
Obviously, the court is going to go through the process of hearing this and making a ruling.
But where he also is now against the Constitution
is in dealing with elections.
And so, for those of you that don't know, he has created an executive order called
ensuring citizenship verification and integrity in federal elections.
That is the title, ensuring citizenship verification and integrity in federal elections.
But if you did not know that, what you need to know is article 1, section 4,
clause 1 of the Constitution, which is the election clause.
And it says, and I quote,
the times, places, and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives
shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof.
You have this 238-year-old document clearly states that the states are responsible for this
and Trump attempting to use and limit voting by mail, which ironically he used
to vote in the special election in Florida.
But you can't make this stuff up.
He is literally trying to ensure that he controls the midterm elections
by manipulating mail-in ballots and by limiting the effectiveness of mail-in ballots.
So this is again, something that is going to be determined by courts.
And in many cases, through justices that he has put on the bench.
The third place, and we're hearing people talk readily about this war, which is I guess not a war,
but a conflict in Iran, coming to an end within the next two weeks.
And some are saying because, and we've heard the president say,
because the straighter who mues is now not going to be his obligation.
He is telling NATO, come and finish the job that I started, because he knows that if he puts boots
on the ground and trying to take the straight, that there will be American servicemen and women
that die. And if that is the case, there's potentially war crimes that are on the table for
for himself in general, because this is not a sanctioned war by Congress, again,
against the Constitution. And so this battle between the president and the Constitution seems to go
on and on and on and on. But guess who's affected by it most? We are.
And so we have got to be clear that this is not going to end, that the Constitution is under attack.
And this is not about partisanship. This is about the Constitution and law.
And that is it, y'all. Let me know what you think.
And he don't care nothing about that.
He doesn't, but we have to. We have to. That's the issue.
Either we do or we don't, and we do that by several things. And y'all, we'll get into more of this
next week, Rick, on Monday, because there are several steps that we got to take moving into this
midterm to make sure that we let our voices be heard. Y'all, hit me a Jeff's nation.
Let me know what you all think. Y'all have a fantastic Thursday and great weekend.
And I'll check y'all next week.
Hey, you too. We appreciate you, Jeff. Y'all more Rick's out of the morning show coming up.
Just, uh, blacks on and what's up for you?
Hey, I'm sitting there. I'm sitting there. Oh, man. That's why you're not at work.
Yeah, I mean, you know, man, me, all the men.
What do you mean? That you for a job?
Uh, man, me, all the guys don't want to get you this job.
No, I'm sorry, but look, but look, look, look, they would not have my car didn't get rep old, man.
Oh, man. Not the doose.
Man, you know, I'm listening to you.
Me paying the note, wet with it with just.
No, you don't tell me. He don't tell me.
They would like two years ago.
He told me, but they play what I can go to or or or tied or tied along for my call.
And he said, he said, your car paid for and or or black tonne.
This is all my escalates out of my, uh, my, uh, two, uh, two escalates of the past week.
He said, your car paid for it.
So he said, he said, you get to a title on because I was trying to borrow $800 from him.
And he said, bud, just go get you a title on on your car.
And so I want to do it.
Listening to him, son, and then I paid and I've been paying on it.
$176 every month.
Yeah.
March of 2024.
I've been paying on that $800.
Right. Well, and then I find I miss one payment.
So I don't think I got my damn car left.
I'm a man on every month, so they might as well get back to him.
March of 2024.
Yeah. Yeah.
How much so add that up though?
I don't know, March of 2024, uh, 2025, that 12 went, then let me, what did 2020?
Yeah, you spent, you spent about $5,000, $5,200 so far.
I mean, you know, how much you paid for the car?
Oh, how much you paid for the car?
$20,800.
That's what happened when you dumbed and you looked at me.
How much you old, black tonne?
They're talking about I had three payment left.
They're going to come and take my damn car because they said it was the interest.
They said it wasn't the, it was the interest.
Oh, yeah.
It was too much.
What was the interest?
68%.
When they do the map, after this, so you said the car, the car, the car,
the car to one of 800 and interest 68%.
Yeah.
So you, but you got to calculate it.
Yeah.
I don't even know how to do that.
Yeah, I had it up there.
You, you're about $10,000 right now, dog.
And for a $2,000, for a $2,000, $5,000 speed escalate.
Yeah.
Oh, much miles.
Anybody have a calculator like your line?
You ain't your name, man.
What you think, huh?
Man, I can't do that when I had a talk.
I just did it about $10,000.
That's where you at.
Blat tonne.
Oh, Blat tonne.
Blat tonne.
I don't know if you're a baby,
but say I'll have $11,000.
You're gonna get, where are you gonna get this?
You just try to use them as a money for you.
And I'm going to work.
How many miles on the dog?
Yeah, how many miles on the?
$216,000.
$200,000, $6,000 miles on it.
You know, $11,000 interest rate.
And you only owe how much on the card, too, $2,000, $2,500.
Try to own over three more papers on them, too,
or not, too.
How much is the payment?
One, six, eight.
Who said that deal up for you, bro?
Your mom?
