Those of you down in Jacksonville.
I'll be with you starting tomorrow through Monday as I'm
down there for the players' championship.
Meeting listeners and advertisers down there, hanging out with some friends of mine.
I mentioned the fantastic fudge shop in Ferdinina,
and it turns out the owner is a listener.
I've been going there since I was in law school.
It's the greatest fudge shop on planet earth,
and I will be there at some point.
I don't know when, however.
But I got to go by there.
I mean, I was on the list anyway, and now that I know the guy's a listener,
I really got to go by there.
That fudge is fantastic.
Now, before I pivot to the same fact,
I don't want to keep Samir on the phone forever
while waiting for me to get back to Iran.
I want to go on and get the Samir.
Welcome to the show.
How are you?
How are you doing, Eric Erickson?
I have a question.
In 1945, I'm not sure about Germany,
but they split the Germany in half
because of what happened during World War II.
I was just wondering if that's the possibility
to happen to Iran with other countries
of Arabicae nations pretty much.
Taking control of the half of the country
or quarter of the country,
they divided for each country
to control that section.
So they wouldn't.
One, we don't have a large enough allied platform to be able to do that.
But two, the nation of Iran,
which up until I guess the 1950s was called,
or 1940s or 30s was called Persia,
is a continuously existing landmass
that goes back more than 2,000 years
as a comprehensive geographic region.
There are certainly portions of Iran
where there are tribal different tribes
and even different languages
that exist in the region.
But all of these people view themselves
as part of the formerly Persian empire in Iran.
And they're all committed to Iran.
So to divide it would probably
cause more harm than good
when these people all view themselves as Iranian.
You know, it's, so you got a
particular situation with like the Cubans.
The Cuban diaspora is spread around the world
but mostly concentrated in the United States, Spain
and elsewhere.
The Iranian diaspora,
you've got big pockets of it in Canada,
Los Angeles.
You've got something in Atlanta
where I am, New York City, Chicago.
I've got a massive pool of Iranians
around the world and in the Middle East and Europe
who are just, they would love to go home.
And if they went home,
the economics of Iran would explode.
In fact, there was a report I saw out this morning
that one of Qatar's concerns
with the United States getting rid of
the Iranian regime is that it would make
Qatar less relevant
because the Iranian diaspora
is so entrepreneurial
that they could cause
not just Iranian oil exports
but technology exports to explode.
A lot of Iranian refugees
and part of the diaspora live in Israel now,
they're highly trained and technical
and the Iranian entire system
could explode if they embraced the free market
and had some liberal reforms there.
And you've got Middle Eastern partners of hours
who are actually worried about that possibility.
But at this point, they have all concluded
it would be worth it to put up with that
just for the Iranian regime to go away.
Now, I want to switch to domestic topics.
I have not spent a lot of time on the program
talking about the SAVE Act
because the SAVE Act is dead on arrival
in the United States Senate.
And I'm really frustrated with portions of conning
the conservative movement in Washington, DC.
You know, when I was at red state
and beyond red state
have been a conservative activist
for a very long time.
I lost many a fight to Mitch McConnell
and I came to appreciate
the wily genius of Mitch McConnell
against conservatives
because one of the things
that I have concluded about the conservative movement
is we are very, very good at dying on hills.
We're actually not very strategic.
We're not very strategic at all.
We think we're strategic
and we got people within the conservative movement
who are very smart.
But we would rather die on a hill
and be a martyr to a cause
and actually get anything accomplished.
I very much like the SAVE Act.
I think the SAVE Act is a very good idea.
But I also think the SAVE Act
is in a way like a comprehensive immigration reform
that is also dead on arrival
because it's too comprehensive.
The conservatives in Washington, DC
don't understand that they're losing
the online fight with
run-of-the-mill ordinary people elsewhere
because there's a rumor online
that I have now seen circulated.
By the way, only about 13% to 15% of Americans
even know what the SAVE Act is.
But I have seen people who are not involved in politics
who don't pay attention,
who aren't normal Americans
who are not hyper online
that they rush to Facebook to update their families.
And that's about it.
And I'm seeing them on Facebook.
Say, did you all know the Republicans
are trying to pass a law
that would require all of our lives
to have to show up and reregister to vote
with their marriage licenses
and birth certificates
because their names don't match.
This is really the level of
mendacity the Democrats are selling.
And I will tell you,
I, the only time I was ever asked
my opinion about the SAVE Act,
I thought it was a bad idea
to push as aggressively
the citizen verification portions.
I believe we need a federal law
that makes it a felony
to vote in any election state or federal
if you're not an American citizen.
I also believe that the conservatives
who drafted the SAVE Act
deeply muddied the water
by adding so many provisions to the SAVE
Act, we want to make it about citizens,
we want to make it about voter ID.
If you just made it about voter ID
and push the citizenship issue later,
you would minimize the democratic abilities
to undermine it.
And in fact,
it is the citizenship requirements
as structured in the legislation,
which is why even people
like John Fetterman
who support voter ID,
they're rejecting the SAVE Act.
And what do I mean by that?
Under one of the common approaches
and you need to understand
the conservatives in DC saying,
no, no, no, this is not true.
And it's wild,
they're insisting it is not true,
but everybody else who's read the law
says, actually, no, the way it's written,
everybody in America is going to have to go show
that they're an American citizen in order to vote.
And no one's going to be able to vote
unless they can prove that they're an American citizen.
You already being registered to vote
is according to the critics
not proof enough that you're an American citizen.
It would have been real smart
for the provision to be structured
as moving forward
in order to register to vote.
Everyone who registers
going to have to show
that they're an American citizen retroactively,
you'll be presumed to be an American citizen.
And if shown otherwise,
you're going to go to jail for 10 years for voting.
Would have been an easier way to make it happen.
We need national voter ID.
The SAVE Act goes beyond national voter ID
in ways that while I think are reasonable,
I think are harder to message.
And it's dead on arrival in the United
States Senate.
It's dead on arrival in the United States Senate
because there are not enough Republican members
of the Senate to support it
with all the extra provisions beyond voter ID.
If it was just a piece of legislation
that said you have to show
photo ID to be able to vote
every Republican of the Senate would support it.
But it goes beyond that.
And while it goes beyond it in ways
that you and I might support,
you've got to have 60 members of the Senate
to break the filibuster.
And you probably wouldn't,
even if those Republicans supported it
who don't support it right now.
But what we're also seeing
with the people who support the SAVE Act
is they've moved into hill to die on rhetoric
that it is this and nothing else.
Let me ask you a question.
Would you rather get the SAVE Act passed
or stock a bunch of life-tenured conservative judges
on the courts in DC?
Which would you rather do?
Because you can't tell me it's not a binary
because one of the positions
that the conservatives
in Washington are advancing
is let's have a talking filibuster.
The last time a talking filibuster actually worked
was 1898, I believe.
Three members of the minority gave up enough
that the filibuster was abandoned.
And the measure it was on the Sherman Silver Act passed
that's the last time
members of the Senate have been able to allow
a filibuster to expire.
And that filibuster went on for almost 60 days
and in those 60 days the Senate devoted
exactly four other days
to the business of the Senate.
So let's just let's say this
you decided to a talking filibuster.
You decided to a talking filibuster
and the Democrats realized
that if they give up their toast,
if the Democrats give up their toast.
So what the Democrats decide to do
is they will bank in days
of the week
where the Senate can move to other business.
In the Senate you have executive
counter days and legislative days.
On the executive counter days you can get
judicial nominations passed,
cabinet nominees passed,
other things done on legislative days.
You focus on legislation.
So the Democrats decide they will give one day a week
to executive business and the rest of the time
they're going to filibuster.
That gives you, let's say it goes on for five weeks.
That gives you five days to try to get judges
confirmed in the United States Senate.
And by the way,
by the way,
during that time the Democrats can do a quorum call.
And when they do a quorum call,
every member of the Senate has to be on the floor of the Senate,
which means there can be no committee meetings
to confirm judges.
There can't be any committee meetings to confirm the judges.
So the Democrats keep everyone in the Senate
for let's say five weeks.
During that time you're not going to see any judges passed.
During that time you're going to have no committee meetings passed.
You're going to get to the end of the five weeks.
And Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski and Tom Tillis,
they're going to reject the Save Act.
So it's going to die anyway.
You will have not had any judges confirmed.
And the Senate will recess for the summer having gotten nothing else done,
including a reconciliation package where other conservative priorities can be put in.
I like the Save Act.
But if you're so focused on the Save Act that you want to get nothing else done and you're
willing to shut down the Senate for three months because the Democrats aren't going to go to the
fight. The Democrats aren't going to abandon the filibuster. Why are the Democrats not going to
abandon the filibuster because they understand their base wants them to be seen as fighting.
You're handing the Democrats a fight on a silver platter.
One that all they have to do is show up, stand and talk.
That's it. All they got to do is talk.
And you know the way the filibuster works into the rules of the Senate for the first hour you
talk. And after that, you can start taking questions from people about anything.
You can start reading books. You just got to stand. You can't lean on the desk. You got to
stand. Put on a depends. And then somebody asks you a question. You get to rest your voice.
And that person can ask a question. That question can be three hours.
They can word the question so that they talk for three hours.
Ask you the question that gives your voice three hours to rest so that you start talking again.
You just got to stand the whole time. And then when you're done, the next Democrat can stand
and start up again. And you can go on for as long as it takes. And do you really think the
Democrats are going to fold before the Republicans do? Do you really? And now the problem is
Connie and DC, which again loves dying on hills very rarely succeeds in advancing anything.
Connie is telling people if we don't pass the Save Act, we're never going to win an election again.
Y'all, will you please stop with the we're never going to win if we don't do this one thing
that's never going to happen because you won in 2024, including the popular vote. And you
didn't have the Save Act. What has changed? Oh, Donald Trump of the Republicans are in charge.
You're really trying to tell me that now that Donald Trump and the Republicans are in charge of
everything, you're never going to win again unless the Save Act passes when the Democrats were in
charge. And you were able to win the popular vote. Is that really what you're trying to tell me?
The logic fits, of course, because in 2020 Republicans controlled everything.
And they lost the presidency and had to claim it was stolen instead of admitting defeat.
The conservative movement in DC has gotten very good at becoming professional victims
and whining and not actually doing anything. The strategic geniuses in Washington and the
conservative movement are very good at finding hills to die on and not very good at getting
anything of substance past. And I'm really wishing that we would get a little wiser.
Had you just made it about voter ID, you could tell the entire country that it was about voter ID,
88% of black Americans support voter ID. And instead, you made it more complicated. You kept
adding stuff. It's harder to message and it's not going to pass. And yet you want to blame people
like me for not being agitated enough when it's not worth my time to advocate for something that
you designed to not pass. But the fundraiser, if I'm so disappointed in this, you could have just
done a photo ID bill and you would have had the perfect message, but you complicated it. And now
you're going to blame the Senate Republicans for not killing the filibuster. And then say,
well, the Democrats are going to kill it when they get back. Prove it. Prove to me the Democrats
are going to do it because they've said that you've said that the last two times the Democrats
control the Senate and they never did. Tell a reddit here from 2311 Racing. Game night's fun

And it turns out he doesn't even live in California. Even Eric Swalwell has abandoned California.
Yet he wants to be governor. Tom Steyer, the progressive billionaire who's running,
has outed the man. He apparently rents a place on a cul de sac in Livermore, California for him

Rosewood Sand Hill in Midlow Park, according to federal campaign records, Swalwell frequent
campaigning and rubbing elbows with celebrities, letting to miss the most votes of any active
member of Congress in 2023 and 24. Swalwell made 24 charges at hotels in San Francisco,
mostly at the five star one hotel, as well as the hotel Griffin. His family doesn't appear to

office where I am where I do my show and somebody was trying to get into the office and they couldn't
get into the office and I was headed out to the bathroom when I heard him trying to open the door
and I opened the door and it was somebody going to there say criminal defense attorney on the hall.
They were headed to that office. They got mine mixed up with that one and I think I might be
high just by having inhaled the air by the, you know, I don't understand the people who they smoke
weed and do they not think the rest of us can smell it good, gracious. At least get better
quality stuff, buddy. Good lord. You're probably was charged with drugs and has headed to his
lawyers office high as a kite and got confused between her office and mine. Just, just incredible
stuff. All right. All right. I got to move on to other stuff. Do any of you braid here?
Just bear with me here. This is this is relevant story. Do any of you braid hair?
My daughter, I'm really hoping she brings me coffee.
Um, it's one of those days. So my, my daughter has, she got a haircut once.
Maybe I want to say she was in second or third grade and she has trimmed her hair since but she's
never cut her. She has long hair. Shout out to Renye for our, uh, tankless water heater where we never
run out of hot water because the only reason we ever ran out of hot water before us because our
kid would take these long showers. She's got so much hair and now we don't. And I tried one time
to braid her hair because her mother was out of town and she wanted her hair braided and I,
I managed but it wasn't fantastic. I can kind of do it and you know how I know how to braid hair
basically. You will all laugh at your nerdy host because I like to make holla.
He got to braid the loaf. So I know the basics but I'm better at braiding a loaf of bread that I
am braiding my daughter's hair. Well, you can go to people particularly if you're a black person,
there are cosmologists who are experts at braiding your hair. If you're a black woman or even a
young man, in many cases around the country, it's a stylish thing to get your hair braided like that.
And boy, does it take some time to do and it's impressive. My wife has for years always wanted corn
roasts. Like not now. No, that that might even be cultural appropriation for me dear.
Well, in Louisiana, the Democrats are trying to make it very difficult for any of you to go into
the business of being professional hair braiders. Get this. There's a licensing bill before the
Louisiana legislature. The Democrats would require 600 hours of training at a licensed cosmology
school, an annual exam and a fee. You would have to pay money to take an annual exam after being
certified for getting 600 hours of training at a licensed cosmology school. Again,
I'm just, let me just make this as plain as possible for you.
In the state of Louisiana, Democrats in the legislature are proposing that if you want to go into the
business of being a professional hair braider, you must have 600 hours of training at a licensed
cosmology school, pay money every year to take an annual exam to continue your certification.
That's what the Democrats want. Do you know what the Republicans want in Louisiana? If you want to
be a professional hair braider, do you know what they want you to do in Louisiana? If you're a Republican,
they want you to take an annual 20-question health and safety exam and pay a one-time fee for your
certificate from the state. So Republicans, annual 20-question exam on health and safety, Democrats,
600 hours of training at a licensed cosmology school, an annual exam, and an annual fee.
That's Louisiana. In California, do you know what the certification is to be a landscaper in
California? It's bizarre. All sorts of fire safety certifications and the like to be a landscaper
in California. In California, you would be a landscaper these days. You want to be a small business
in California. They want to overwhelm you with regulatory exams. Do you know how long it takes to
open a restaurant in San Francisco, California right now? Two years. Takes two years to open a
restaurant on average in San Francisco and that's after they streamlined the process to open restaurants
in California. Where I am, I ran into this when I was on city council here, the Democrats and
past regulations were to get your occupancy certification, you had to have the fire marshal visit.
But before the fire marshal could visit, you had to have your occupation certificate.
Think about that. Where I live, we fixed this when I was on city council. It was a very bizarre
rule that I knew about because I had been a lawyer helping a business get a liquor license and to
get your occupancy certificate, you had to have the fire marshal pay a visit. But in order to get
the fire marshal to pay a visit, you had to have your occupancy certification. How's that working
exactly? Well, you had to call one person in county government who knew how to line it up perfectly.
It was very bizarre. Thankfully you got fixed. But a buddy of mine the other day was telling me in
my local community run by Democrats, it is extremely frustrating to try to get a business license.
He wanted to open his business between the P and Z planning and zoning regulations on signage
and the building that he bought. He said it was almost like they wanted you to not open your business.
Meanwhile, in my community, like so many communities, we had these fly-by-night businesses where they
set up roadside stands to sell carpets and fake roses and all sorts of stuff. You know and I
know that the planning and zoning commission and the occupational business certificate people and
the code enforcers are not going out to the guy on the side of the road with the pop-up 10 and the
fake Persian carpets asking them for their business license. You want to try to start a business
in a community run by Democrats? It's real hard. It's better to be a drug dealer in a community run
by Democrats these days because you're not going to get prosecuted taxed or have to get an occupation
certification in a business license. Might as well be a drug dealer in areas of the country where
the Democrats are in charge because you're going to be less likely to go to jail or pay fines to
the government. You want to do a legitimate business in a Democratic part of the country? It gets
hard. In Washington state, the Constitution and Washington state bans and income tax.
The Washington legislature has adopted an income tax. The Constitution says you can't do it.
The legislature has passed an income tax despite the Constitution provision prohibiting it
because they're calling it a wealth tax even though it taxes income not wealth and they're hoping
that the progressives on the Supreme Court of State of Washington will be okay with that and
just rewrite the plain language of the Constitution in Washington state. So I Tom, not Tom, sorry,
they had a Howard Schultz head of Starbucks is leaving. Starbucks is moving his corporate headquarters
to Nashville. Other billionaires leaving Jeff Bezos is left. Amazon is thinking of leaving. Have
we made a major commercial investment in the city of Seattle? They're thinking of leaving or at
least going to Bellevue, which is next door, which is doing gangbusters as Seattle taxes that's not
out of people. The new socialist mayor of Seattle, Washington, has made it against the law for
grocery stores to close. Grocery stores are closing in Seattle because the local government has
decided to tax them and regulate the stock out of them and they can't make money anymore.
So the grocery stores have started to close. So the mayor of Seattle has made it against the law
for grocery stores to close. How does that going to work? Exactly. I have no idea. They don't seem to know.
The Democratic Party in the United States around the country is making it really hard for small
businesses to be businesses. They keep saying they're for the little guy, but they keep
propping up the major industries. Look at this law in Louisiana. This law that the Democrats want
past is actually being pushed by cosmology schools. They don't like the fact that you can actually
learn how to braid hair by your aunt, by your mom, and they go turn it into a business. They want
you to get 600 hours of training for it. They don't want you to do that.
In Georgia, where I am, every time the Republicans try to make it easier for a local business to set
up shop, the Democrat screen screened that somebody's going to die. Someone's going to have a problem.
Someone's going to get in trouble. Someone's going to cause a problem. You shouldn't be able to do
it. You should have to regulate the snot out of it. And then maybe we should let government thrive
and government do things. So they want to tax the billionaires out there. The billionaires are
bad. The reason a billionaire is a billionaire in most cases is because they came up with an idea
of the rest of his love. Very few things in government have been as good as the things we get from
the private sector. In fact, the good things we've gotten from government that have translated
into the private sector have all come from the military and the space program, the one area of
the government the Democrats want to cut the budget for. Do you know why Jeff Bezos is a billionaire?
You say, oh, well, he started Amazon. Of course, you know what Jeff Bezos did?
Jeff Bezos found a way to get you within 24 hours the thing that you found online.
The obscure object that your heart craves, Jeff Bezos found a way to get it to you for cheap
in 24 hours or less in some cases. That's why Jeff Bezos is a billionaire because you love to go
to Amazon. Find that obscure thing no one else has and get it to your home within 24 to 48 hours
thanks to Amazon Prime. So I Jeff Bezos is a billionaire. You know why the Walmart family,
the Walton family are billionaires because they found a way to make these massive businesses
around the country that sell a lot of stuff for cheap to the poor in the middle class who go shop
there and know where else because the Walton family found that a way to get them pretty good
products at a really reasonable price and then to expand it to groceries as well and so people
who are on fixed incomes go shop at Walmart because it's a whole lot cheaper to shop there than
somewhere else and the Walton family has been rewarded by becoming billionaires and now the
Democrats think they're bad. The Democrats think Jeff Bezos is bad because he's made a lot of
money getting you the stuff you want quickly. Why is Mark Zuckerberg a billionaire? Because Mark Zuckerberg
found that a way for your old classmate from third grade now that you're in your 40s to reconnect
to you and relive old time from when you were in third grade you hadn't heard from the person since
and you're kind of intrigued that they found you on Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg made a billion
dollars by being willing to connect you to people and then being willing to connect you to amazing
products on Instagram. Some of my most beloved things that I have in my house for cooking in the
like, like my rec tech smoker, I found it on Instagram. I just stumbled upon it on Instagram,
didn't know it existed until I found it on Instagram and now I've got my rec tech in the backyard
and I love it. I want to have them as an advertiser. My pizza oven in my backyard, I found
Fontana, a family in South Carolina sells these things. It's a giant pizza oven. They even sell
them at Costco now. I found it on Instagram. I've never been to a Costco. I don't even have one
in my ear. We're about to have one. I am so excited about having a Costco in my ear. You can't
believe it, but you know what? The Costco is being slowly built in my area. Why? Because of the
planning and zoning regulations, the local Democrats that put in place makes it hard to build a Costco.
The Democrats are really good at smothering something until it's dead and then subsidizing it
to shut out the competition. They're really, really bad at helping small businessmen do well.
They're really, really bad at helping entrepreneurs grow. The Democratic Party is relentless in
snuffing out the ambitions of entrepreneurs and then if they still keep at it and they become
billionaires, the Democrats want their money. This is a problem. Again, I don't think Democrats
have grappled with the fact that they are less popular than even artificial intelligence. The
only thing, according to NBC News that's less popular in this country than the Democratic Party
is the Iranian government and the Democratic Party is cheering on the Iranian government,
hoping they beat Donald Trump. That's how broken that party is.
If you want to succeed in this country, it's real hard to support Democratic policies and there
are a lot of people who for historic reasons support the Democratic Party and I get that.
But it's genuinely wild to me to see an entire political party in this country
lining to snuff out the entrepreneurial spirit in America. The bad thing is that Republicans,
some of them are headed this way. When Donald Trump supports taking over business interests and
private corporations, all that does is bring in government corruption. When the Republicans want
to regulate AI out of business that just lets China dominate, I got problems with AI myself.
In fact, there's a story of the stack of stuff today. We put out in the show notes where
open AI got notice of with chat GPT that there was some kid that looked like they might be
planning a school shooting. It was a trans shooter and they flagged it for upper management.
It upper managers just banned their account, not reported to the police. I got problems with AI.
But the fact of using AI and deployed AI is not one of them we need to and we need to dominate it
to get to to to Alice China. My daughter was telling me she's taken a business class in college
and she's getting graded on her use of AI. They want her to figure out how to use AI to help her make
her life easier in doing her business tasks because they know that's the way the world is going so
you might as well embrace it. Not to cheat but to make you more efficient might as well embrace it.
But what are the Democrats want to do? The Democrats want all 50 states to have unique regulations
to be able to smother AI out of the gate so China can dominate because if there's anything in
this country that is good, makes us better, makes us more competitive or more efficient,
the Democrats want to regulate it out of existence.

There's a shooting active shooter situation happening at a synagogue in Michigan right now.
In the last two weeks, we've had an active shooting situation at a synagogue. We had an
Islamic radical killed three people in a mass murder in Austin, Texas. We had an Islamist attack
in New York City and there are rumors in Virginia right now that the shooting at Old Dominion
University was also an Islamic radical. We certainly do see people not necessarily sleeper
cells, but we certainly see people who hate the United States who are inflamed against the
United States who are targeting American citizens, Jews, and others. Again, right now, as I'm
speaking to you, there is an active shooter situation at a temple Israel outside of Detroit.
There are also in the last two weeks been the Islamic shooting, Islamic radical shooting in Austin
and Islamic radicals throwing bombs in New York City. We have this morning had an active shooter
situation at Old Dominion University in Virginia. The rumors, and again, they are rumors. I'm going
to be very careful with that and tell you they are rumors and the rumor is that it was possibly
someone looking for an ROTC class in which to open fire. I've got a number of people within
the Virginia government who I keep in contact with were telling me that they are trying to
substantiate that for sure, but that's the way it's looking based on what people were told on the
ground. Thankfully, the death toll was only two, still two, too many, but also the shooter is dead
there. Keeping an eye on the situation in Michigan right now as reports are coming in about this
shooting situation there at Temple Israel. So stay tuned. This does not mean the sleeper cells
are waking up. But you know what's going to happen here is that the Democrats who flooded the
border with illegal aliens and now refuse to fund Homeland Security are going to blame Donald
Trump for all of these things. We've seen these Islamic attacks around the country for the last
number of years and the Democrats find ways of excusing them and now they're going to find a way
to blame Trump. That's what they do. Time and time again, the Democrats want to blame Donald
Trump instead of confronting the immigration policies, the Democrats themselves have deployed
that minimize dissimilation into this country and maximize people who do not like this country
coming into the country. Now with all of the turmoil and markets in Royline and the like,
