Saints Add Depth, Returner with Ty Chandler

The New Orleans Saints added another piece to their offense by signing running back Ty Chandler on Tuesday. This 27-year-old joins recent free-age and pickups like Guard David Edwards, running back Travis Etienne, and tied in Noah Fawn. He enters a stacked backfield that already features Etienne, Alvin Camara, Devon Neal, Kendra Miller, and Audric Estimate. Miller spent his first four NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after they took him in the fifth round of the 2022 draft. Injuries limited his playing time, including just three games this past season due to a knee issue. Still, he showed flashes with solid speed and versatility. From high school in Nashville, Chandler played college ball at the University of Tennessee before transferring to North Carolina. There, he rushed for over 1,000 yards in his final year and earned second-team all ACC honors. Fans remember his big games, like 213 rushing yards against Wake Forest.

1:03In Minnesota, Chandler totalled 710 rushing yards in three touchdowns on a 3.9 yards per carry average. He also caught 30 passes for 212 yards and handled 15 kickoff returns at 25.3 yards each.
