I'm Nicole Parton, Savannah Guthrie recently sat down with Hota Compty for the first
interview following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy.
On the March 25 episode of Today, Compty revealed that she had a heartfelt and extensive conversation
with Guthrie, which is set to air on March 26 and 27.
She said in part, as you might expect, it was an emotional discussion.
She mentioned before sharing a preview clip, we'll have the full interview for you tomorrow
But this we wanted to share first, a poignant moment where Savannah reached out to anyone
who might have information regarding Nancy's whereabouts, Hota said.
In the emotional clip, Guthrie spoke to Hota, her voice breaking with emotion.
Someone needs to step up and do the right thing.
Someone needs to do the right thing.
It is unbearable, and to think of what she went through, I wake up every night, in the
middle of the night, every night, and in the darkness.
I imagine her terror, and it is unthinkable.
Like those thoughts demand to be thought, and I will not hide in my face, that she needs
Following the clip preview, daily also on the set of Today, checked in with Cobbty about
her feelings after the interview.
She said in part, I'm alright, Savannah exudes a sense of desperation, but strength and resilience.
She hopes that someone, whoever it may be, will recognize something and speak up.
As you will see in the upcoming days, she discusses many topics, including the investigation,
her faith, and how she's coping with everything, said Hota.
Cobbty also highlighted that Guthrie would talk about how she finds peace in her faith,
expressing admiration for how she managed to engage in such a meaningful conversation
while maintaining her composure.
We're on the case of missing Nancy Guthrie after this.
Three weeks prior to this exclusive interview, Savannah Guthrie made her first appearance
back on the Today Show set in New York after her time in Arizona, where she reunited emotionally
with the staff and express gratitude for their support and concern regarding her mother.
She conveyed her determination to return to the show, saying, I don't know how to come
back, but I can't imagine not coming back.
I want to try just a few days ago on March 21, Guthrie and her siblings released a statement
thanking the Tucson community for their support during the ongoing search for their mother,
saying we are incredibly grateful for the support from neighbors, friends, and the Tucson community.
We feel connected as a family now.
We believe that the residents of Tucson and the greater Southern Arizona area hold the
key to resolving this case.
Someone out there knows something, the statement read, which was shared during a special
segment titled Bring Her Home, the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie on KVOA News 4 in Tucson.
The statement urged community members to reflect on their memories, especially concerning
the crucial timelines around January 31, the early hours of February 1, and the evening
We earnestly ask the community to renew their efforts in our mom's case.
These review any camera footage, notes, text messages, or conversations that might seem
insignificant, but could actually be vital.
No detail is too small.
It could be the key we need, she said.
The statement concluded with an emotional plea for Nancy's safe return so that her family
We miss our mom deeply and cannot find peace until she is home.
We are unable to grieve.
We can only feel pain and uncertainty.
Our soul focus is on finding her and bringing her back.
We want to celebrate her remarkable life, but that can only happen once she is brought
to her final resting place.
Thank you for your unceasing prayers, she said.

When she did not attend a virtual church service the following day, the Pima County
Sheriff's Department initiated an urgent search for her.
Investigators suspect that Nancy was kidnapped overnight as a surveillance footage showed
a masked person at her front door in a March 12 interview with NBC News, Pima County
Sheriff Chris Nanos indicated that investigators believe they understand the motive behind
the kidnapping, saying we think we have an idea of why this happened and we believe
it was a targeted act, although we can't be completely certain, Nanos stated.
One day, one, we had shrunk suspicions about what happened and those beliefs remain firm.
Further details have not been disclosed.
Anyone with information regarding Nancy's disappearance is encouraged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI
