Scale as Your Farm Allows

Is there any other sort of tips or pieces of wisdom that you can think are just kind of like prioritizing, kind of decompression through these like crazy intense months? I think it's just, I think we, with our small space, we've just been like hyper, like, conscious about like what is actually possible and like how we can like, we've been like forced to scale slowly to like how can we fit what we want in here? And then what's the best thing to fit in this to like make all this work and like, you know, grow in the right things and make sure we're like making enough money.

1:01So I think just being super aware of like your scale and building it slow enough that like, you can kind of like have these realizations throughout the year like, oh, this is like a slower time than like we can't really, there's nothing more we can do to like either like speed this up or like, it's just like we can't really push anything to like, this is our slow week, like there's nothing we can do about it. So like just constantly being aware of like how you're growing and like those times throughout the year that like makes sense to like give yourself a break and just like being able to scale slowly take it year by year. Like you just, it's hard to get ahead of yourself like and you can make sure that like, oh, hey, like we can take days off here and they're like this time of year, like maybe like we'd never really like spring is always crazy. I don't think any really any farm really has like tons of free time in the spring. No, but summer and fall, I think there's plenty of times that you can just make notes.

2:05Like, hey, like every year it seems like this, there's nothing more we can do. And this is a good time to you know, make sure we this month we take a couple extra days off or take the longer vacation or something. I know every farm's going to be different with like irrigation or animals or how their farm is set up. Like if you could have someone come look at it or not, but yeah, I think just slow. Just like pay attention and like just don't move too fast. That's you know, we most of the people we know are still in it and they're still farming and they're still like kind of scaling, but like we've seen them all grow super slow and like we've all been doing it for five years plus, which is pretty good for some of these small scale farms. So yeah, I think that that slow build is a way to like, I think I know there's stories out there farms take on a bunch of debt and they build this two acre farm and have all these employees and two, three years later, it just doesn't work out. So yeah, that small growth and just like assessing in reality like what you can manage
