Al Jazeera podcasts. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, at least 17 students have been killed during a fire at a building housing two schools. It happened in Bukavu, the capital of the province of South Kivu. The victims reportedly died in a stampede as they tried to flee the flames. Several others are being treated for smoke and halation. Bukavu was controlled by the Rwanda-backed M23 fighters. And so the Africa protesters have been out on the streets of Durban, calling for undocumented migrants to leave the country. The gathering in front of refugee encampments outside the city's home affairs office. Hundreds of migrants fearing attacks have been sleeping on the pavement for months. It follows similar demonstrations in recent months. Hundreds of Burundian migrants have been camping at the Burundian Embassy in the Kenyan capital since Monday, after President William Ruto threatened to close down small businesses
run by foreign nationals. Many migrants say they are in fear of violence. Even after the government announced a temporary amnesty for undocumented East Africans in the country.
