Quote of the day is coming up in just a second. In the meantime, you return to this Scott
Mills sacking story and there's really not a lot we can talk about here because the BBC
are keeping stum and we're not aware. It's not like in all of the newspapers and everything
that they're saying or you can't talk about this because there's an active investigation.
As far as we know, the police did this 10 years ago and decided there was nothing there.
You're innocent until proven guilty and that's the end of that. It looks like according to
commentators such as people who work for the Guardian and it's difficult to get what they're
saying because the Guardian isn't on X anymore but what they seem to be saying or thinking is that
this is just like an internal thing at the BBC and someone's decided we're going to let him go.
A new broom sweeping clean, that sort of business. This is all to do with this investigation
if it was even an investigation from 10 years ago. There's nothing new here so although he's
said nothing about it, it looks like at some point Scott Mills will come out and say something
especially if he's not very happy about what's going on here.
Let's have a look at the context of this. This is part of a series of controversies for the BBC
under the outgoing director general Tim Davy. He is due to step down. He's been waiting for the
new guy to come in. It could be related to this. They just want to sort of draw a line under this
and move on. Staff were reportedly stunned and taken aback with honour mentions such as Jeremy
Vine. Acknowledging surprise but offering no further information. Speculation has begun about
a replacement. Vernon K has emerged early as a favourite in betting odds. The story has generated
significant media coverage and social media discussion with some focusing on the abrupt
nature of the exit and the lack of transparency from the BBC.
So we'll bring you more as and when we get it.
So quote of the day comes from Martin Luther King, Jr.
If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way. This is a good one that
takes the pressure off needing to change the world overnight, doesn't it? I think it's a good quote.
It's about showing up and doing the little things really well enough. A great reminder when
you're feeling a little overwhelmed. So we'll have another one maybe later on. What about a weird
fact? Did you know and this is totally unrelated to anyone really. This is just a random weird
fact. Did you know the octopuses or octopi have three hearts? Two pump blood to the gills and one
pumps it to the rest of the body. When they swim, the main heart actually stops beating. That's why
they prefer crawling. That is quite wild. Nature is absolutely bizarre. If you've got a weird
fact, you can send it my way. Did you know or do you know what you call a flock of flamingos?
What do you call a flock of flamingos? A flamboyance. That's a good one, isn't it?
Flamboyance. A flamboyance. Yeah. That is quite good. I do like that.
Question for you. This is from our quiz. What is the only mammal that cannot jump? There's one mammal
on this earth that can't jump. So it's got to be a mammal,
a mammal that can't jump. The only mammal that can't jump. Elephant. Another question,
what planet in our solar system has the most moons? It's Saturn. It currently has over 140 confirmed
moons. If you ask me that, there's a lot of moons. That's some interesting things. I think I'm
going to stick with the flamboyance thing, really, which gets me.
