1:31Anyway, it is what day of the week is it? It is Wednesday, which means wall pass, which means that we're kind of out of control. And we do have a lot of different things to get into. We have one transfer deadline day ending yesterday, another one ending today. And then that means that from the Kaiser Permanente studio, it is going to be kind of keeping an eye on stuff in Major League Soccer as much as we were keeping an eye on what was going on in Europe yesterday during the show. During the show today, we'll go over what happened in Europe, 154 transfers, by the way, in the Premier League alone, or involving the Premier League. So we'll kind of go through a lot of that. And we'll set you up for today when it comes to Major League Soccer and the transfer window and we'll keep an eye on that because there is some stuff that is going on involving clubs.

2:31And there was some stuff that went on yesterday that hasn't been officially official, but it's leaning in those directions and we'll go over all of those deals. So there's that this morning, big transfer window stuff that's going to take up probably a bulk of the time. And it's going to be a little stream of consciousness. MLS next pro had some news yesterday and they had a match last night that we're going to run highlights of and you're sitting there going, you're going, John, why are we running highlights of a match out of MLS next pro? Well, it's because of the impact that it has, the result, on it, land, united to the news has a bit of a relationship with it, land, united to. And the match that happened last night kind of does as well. So we're going to go through all of that with MLS next pro. We do have breaking news out of the open cup. That's how we're going to start things this morning. And we do have our Newsy part. We do have a cool moment out of the English championship that we're going to play for

3:32you. And then in addition to the window with the Premier League yesterday, somebody did not have a good window. And we're going to have someone explain how it looks for this particular club. We'll go through a lot of the deals and kind of gloss over a lot of them, but there are two specific deals yesterday that did not go through that we're going to kind of look at here and go, what in the wide world of sports is going on? And speaking of the wide world of sports, distalpha, you're gone. I wish I had a note like a sound effect. You're like the gong in pitch perfect, something like that. That's what I need from the first riff off. Was it the first one? Yeah, it was the first one. It was the second one. Whenever the one that was involving the Green Bay Packers, where you had the guy who had the big gong, you know, you gone, clang, that's what we need.

4:36So for those kinds of things, that's what we need a gong or that drop. I think I may just have to search for that drop. And then that'll be kind of how we send folks on their way when it comes to the folks that we don't like trying to add listeners and viewers from Eastern European, if not Russian websites. We'll get the gong from that movie and use that as a sound effect. The picks of the week are six through our six of the eight are done and the tiebreaker is done. I was about half right on the tiebreaker. All the goals in league two yesterday. I said it was going to be in the 60s. I was about half right. It was 32. So and I'm actually doing well and picks the week. Last two games for picks of the week are the leagues cup semis tonight. So then after that, then we'll come up with another quick one and continue to add to that to the cloud. You've got to be nimble with the cloud server this season. So that's kind of where we're at with all of that. So it's going to be open cup. It's going to be transfer window.

5:36It's going to be MLS next pro 10 o'clock Jack March and the head coach of the women's side at GCSU is going to join us. We're going to talk peach belt. We're going to talk his season and we're going to talk about a specific family that has attached to GCSU. So we're going to get into that at 10 o'clock and that's going to be fun to always. It's always fun to catch up with. It's going to be a fun to catch up with Jack. It's always good to catch up with him and the peach belt being what it is as a part of the fabric here in our footprint, trying to catch up with as many schools as we can across the board and we can duck in and catch up with Jack. And it's always good to catch up with Jack. So we'll catch up with the Bobcats and get the latest there coming up at 10 o'clock. All right. It is opening kickoffie time. So I guess we can combine we can combine things here out of the Kaiser Permanente studios. We'll go here and we'll do this.

6:43And so by doing that, we're going to talk open cup and we will do so and break it down this way. US soccer came out this morning and said that, hey, MLS clubs, come on back. That was confirmed at 8 o'clock this morning and you knew it was going to be something big when you start seeing the West Coast team sending out emails at 5 a.m. local time. Confirm the format of the 112th edition of the open cup featuring all 27 MLS clubs. So they're all back in. Qualifying actually is starting next weekend. When there are I think four matches here in the state of Georgia as a matter of fact, when it comes to the qualifying rounds on the 12th and the 13th. First round in April, concluding with the final December 15th. Remember, you've got the schedule flipped now. So you now have the I'd of December for the open cup final five rounds taking place after

7:46Labor Day to accommodate. This is from US soccer. They're wording the evolving US professional soccer calendar. 96 teams division one, two and three, 32 amateur clubs from the open division, million dollar purse and a spot in the triple C. All US based MLS clubs enter the competition in the round of 64. Five seated clubs from USL championship. So you're going to have 32 teams drifting in. In that round, round of 64, you're going to have 27 plus five come in from USL championship and all the MLS teams in addition to 32 survivors that have made it to that point. Teams entering the round of 64 have hosting priority. So that means that MLS clubs and the five from USL championship will host in the round of 64. They get a hosting priority. Any lower division teams that advance will have hosting priority for the round of 32.

8:48In addition to 32 teams, USL championship league one and next pro entering in the first round each professional club facing off against the team from the open division. Field of eligible D2 and D3 teams remaining exceeding 32 qualification criteria based on the 26 results applied to narrow the field. For a professional team to be eligible, they must have played the most recent competition year of their league starting prior to January 1st to 27. One club one entry. So that means that the professional club, they get the priority over any other club that is attached in any other league. So the MLS next pro sides that are second clubs to parent clubs, they are not in. But teams may roster any player of that club with no numerical cap on the number of eligible players for 2027 game day rosters expanding from 18 to 20 about time.

9:50Let me read that again. Teams may roster any player of that club, no numerical cap on the number of eligible players. For 2027 game day rosters expanding from 18 to 20. So that's a good, that's a good, that's a good thing. A, expanding the rosters, B, allowing your second teamers to come in and be a part of things, rostering any player of that club, no numerical cap on the number of eligible players. First round matchups announced early in 27, geographic pairings match with the team entering around a 64, first live draw held following around a 64, then you get your scenarios for around a 32 and around a 16 format groups, pairings based on geography. And along with the basic mathematics principles of a single elimination competition, random selection will be used to solve a lack of logical geographic fit, draw groups may be constructed

10:51to account for venue availability in any round based on the league schedule. So basically it's the way that it is, the higher division clubs will get priority. But if you got a venue issue or something to that effect, I don't know if don't want to, would apply, but venue issue, obviously we'd be taking into consideration like it is now, where if you are asked, if you wish to host, you can sit there and go, no, I'm good. So now you get to draw groups constructed to account for venue availability based on league schedule, competing teams or other conditions for tournament regulation. And so that is where we are with open cup, Dan Helfert, chief operating officer, US soccer. When you bring various level, quote, when you bring various levels of the soccer community together, you create a connected competitive environment that moves the sport forward, gives the fans a drama of knockout soccer morning, David.

11:51Along with MLS, USL and all the member organizations represented in the open division, open cup reflects our shared commitment to strengthen the future of the game in this country. From Nelson Rodriguez, MLS, exec VP of sporting and match day, from LLS clubs, it's a chance to write a special chapter in the tournament's history and our qualification into the Conquer Cap champions cup. And then a quote from Brett Lui, USL president of competition and administration, excited about what the 2027 competition will bring for our club supporters and community. We'll look forward to continuing to work with the US soccer to make the open cup as strong and successful as it can be in quote, opening round. We've got qualifying going on now. Like I said, the qualifying round will start next weekend. April 13, 14, 20, and 21. That's the first round. Then it goes July, September, round to 16 is to be determined by schedules and calendars and such. Quarters are Thanksgiving weekend or Thanksgiving week.

12:522027. The semis are December the first and the final is December 15th as it is listed right now, everything subject change and the dates. So entering in the first round, if the field of eligible teams exceeds 32, championship and league one, standings determine qualifying criteria and the eligible MLS next pro teams enter there as well, which means core, Chattanooga, FC and Connecticut United because they are independently owned. MLS next pro teams that are a part of a club that plays in D1 are not eligible based on the one club one entry principle. Players with D1 entrants may appear in the competition for their D1 affiliate subject to competition roster regs. 32 teams from the open division, 16 open slots earned by teams that advanced through this false qualifying rounds. Well, that's what we've been talking about. 16 open division slots filled with teams that earned buys based on performance and select

13:542026 competitions. The full list of those in the open division. Ambassadors out of Ohio, Asheville City and league two, ballered in league two because they're the champs there. Bristol rhythm out of the NPSL because they were the runner up. Colorado storm out of league two, Departivo rose city who won the UPSL spring. El Fato Lito who had the double they won the USASA amateur cup and the NPSL. Laredo heat out of league two, little rock out of league two, Miami United out of the UPSL because of their deep run in the tournament. Minneapolis city out of league two, New Haven United NPSL, the Norristers out of Ocean City, New Jersey and league two, Pensacola FC who won the league for clubs, San Francisco city FC who is out of league two and then Vermont green out of league two who are the league two champs and the Steinbrenker cup champ.

14:57So that is your that those are the ones that got the the automatic qualifiers to get into the qualifying round. So there were some familiar faces in that. So entering in the round of 64, the 27 and less teams, five seeded teams from USL championship, player shield championship playoffs, Eastern Conference top, Western Conference top, Prince tires, USL cup champ and is guaranteed that that team is guaranteed to come from the USL championship. Although I've never seen a Prince tire still. So that is all the math that's associated with open cup, but the key here is all NLS clubs back in. And what your MLS next pro teams, your second teams that are attached are not in themselves, but you can pull players from that roster to assist the first team and your club and your roster size on game day goes from 18 to 20.

16:00So we're walking down a path here. So that's what you're looking at with open cup. Now it's been came out before we came on the air this morning about all the major league soccer teams that are involved. So that's where we are. They come in in the round of 64. 27 plus five from USL championship to go with the 32 that have survived to that point. That's around a 64. Those 32 teams that are coming in get hosting priority. Then if they lose in the round of 32, then you look at winners and things like that to figure out hosting priority for the round of 32 and beyond. So that's what happened out of open cup yesterday and this morning. It had been leaked yesterday, but this morning, eight o'clock Eastern time and beyond, you started seeing teams posting notes and things like that. So it is now officially official about the 27 grid for the US open cup. I feel like we need to maybe serpentine or the party favors to make the high pitch noise.

17:00So we're on a path here. That's the that's the stuff out of open cup this morning. And just when you thought that it was going to be, you know, a slow news day in addition to all of the transfer madness yesterday, MLS next pro announces outside of the open cup, they announced their playoff format and they added something for

18:07the first time in the history you get a play in round at the eight nine. So eight nine gets added into the MLS next pro playoffs. You're still going to have the pick your opponent format for the first two rounds. Decision days coming up in 18 days. So all 30 teams take the field on decision day, everything in the Eastern conference is at two o'clock. Just to kind of give you a piece of warning here, we're going to be all over the place doing a lot of different things, including MLS next pro decision day on the 20th. We got that to look into Atlanta United to is at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, taking on OCB. That is their decision day matchup. So obviously we'll have that coverage starting at 130 on the 20th.

19:11Kick off two o'clock, 203. And then we'll keep you posted on everything that's going on in MLS next pro. We have collegiate action going on that we will be a part of as well. And so that will be attached to that particular school and that particular output. And I believe it's a triple header at this particular institution. So as we get closer to that, we'll let you know who's going over there and who's got what? And I believe we also have if I'm not mistaken, and I've got a double check this, double checking it right now. So pardon me with, I beg your for barons basically. And so let's see. So standings. No, I don't want that one. So I've got to go to this particular conference and then lay it all out for you.

20:12Checking, checking, checking. Is it? Yeah. OK. So it's here. And yes. OK. So here's the other part of this. Georgia impact has a home game at six o'clock Eastern time in Woodstock against UFA. They launched full. So we've got two o'clock with the twos and decision day and MS next pro. We have a college that has a triple header. Sorry, university, a university that has a triple header that we will be a part of in some manner, way, shape, or form. And then impact is at six o'clock on the impact YouTube channel and the UPSL. So we know we have the twos at two o'clock on decision day. And then we know that we have an university triple header and then we have Georgia impact at six. So we're going to be in those three places.

21:13We just don't know who's going to be where doing what I imagine. Maddie will be in Woodstock. I imagine Jason will be calling the twos pregame though at 130 for whomever is calling it. And then two o'clock o'clock three kick. For decision day for the twos and MS next pro. But to that effect, it was announced that you're going to get an eight nine this year. Final seeding Sunday September 20, Western conference kicks off at five, Eastern conference kicks off at two Eastern. Seven teams automatically qualify from each conference to division champs plus the next five. Then they get the play in round, joining those seven. Following decision day, they figure out the eight nine. They're going to face off in a single elimination match hosted by the eight. Winner of the play in eight nines advances, the final number eight C to get into pick your opponent.

22:14And then that's how the playoffs themselves will begin. So the play in round now is going to be somewhere between October 9th and 11th. The weekend after so September 20 is decision day. You get to catch your breath a little bit. October 9th through 11 is when you're going to have your two eight nines. Once again, you got to look at venue and availability and things like that. But eight nine happens October 9th through 11 somewhere in there Eastern conference Western conference conference quarter finals. The following weekend. The one through three get to pick their opponent five six seven eight. That'll be on the 16th through the 18th. And then obviously the four will get the last one because they don't get to pick conference semi finals. Once again, the highest remaining C gets to pick their opponent. October 23, four and five.

23:14Conference finals October 30 November one and then MLS next pro cup November sixth seventh and eight that weekend. So MLS next pro in addition to having their three independently owned teams going into open cup. MLS next pro yesterday announces the eight nine play in round for the first time ever in league history. So the eight nine goes first weekend. So it's like 17 days possibly. So it could be somewhere in the neighborhood of three weeks. In between matches and MLS next pro. But you're going to get an eight nine in each conference. Then you get pick your opponent and then you get conference quarters conference semis conference finals MLS next pro cup November six seven eight weekend. So MLS next pro was pretty busy yesterday too. So you've got that to put into your collective calendar and figure out where things are going and what what it's going to be.

24:17So you have that they've shifted their calendar for 27. They're going to be a part of open cup in the independence with the independence. And now they're going to have an eight nine play in round. When it comes to the new 2026 version of the playoffs and beyond. And so I had promised you news out of MLS next pro as forested sending you FU is now going to get blown out of here. You're blocked. I promised you context into the standings from something that happened last night. Some folks have matches to catch up on. One of those was NYCFC two. They had to go to the erector set last night to take on in Hermione CF two. Here's your highlights James had not on the call courtesy of MLS next pro. One football and the MLS YouTube channel.

25:19So James had not NYCFC two in Hermione CF two. And the checky slotted home. NYCFC two in front. But right now they've been sliced apart. Warren camp across a whole. What a team goal from into Miami. Now Diego Ray with numbers arriving for into Miami. Cross comes in low. Good control. And Lauren Camp has the go ahead goal. The O'Vore and Camp was the provider for the first goal. And now he gives into Miami the setting inside. Finds Diego Ray. Ray has this block. Seltzer to beta on the rebound. Doubles the lead for Miami. What do we have here? And another penalty given.

27:25And seals their third win of the season. Now I said it was big news. A because it was their third one of the year. First off if you go back and look at the highlights. The PK that was called first and foremost that led to the sucheki goal in the ninth minute. There wasn't any contact. You go back and look at it. I digress. So NYCFC2 actually had a lead one no in the ninth minute. Then you end up with three goals from the baby herons to make it three one at the break. You get a PK in the 63rd which actually was a PK. NYCFC2 down to three two at that point. Red card in the 82nd from E in or Keiti on a second yellow. Jude out of clock scores at 90 plus two to make it four two. So they score with 10 men. Get a goal when it four two. And you're going Nelson. Why are you running highlights of intermime.

28:25You see have to in NYCFC2. Well here's why. The third win of the year. For the baby herons there they've been out of the playoffs for five matches now. 0-11 and 2 on the road this year. 3-6 and 3 at home. That third win is massive. For the rest of the conference. Core FC Cincinnati 2. Intermime ECF 2. They're out of the playoff. That loss by NYCFC2 draws them even with 25 matches played. With everybody short of crew 2. And Toronto FC 2. Who have 24 matches played. They have one extra match in their in their holster right now. TFC 2's at 33 points. They're six points out of a playoff spot with a match in hand. That's why they have not yet been eliminated from playoff contention.

29:25Philadelphia Union 2's at 36 points. Once again the eighth spot right now is 39. Orlando City bs at 38 points. Nine wins after 25 matches. Huntsville City football club. 38 points. 10 wins after 25 matches. Once again three matches to go. 28 is what you're looking at. Chicago Fire FC 2. 25 matches. 10 wins. 39 points there in ninth. NYCFC2 had they one last night. They would have had their 12th win of the year. And that would have been dangerous for Nwingland Revolution 2. It would have been dangerous for Atlanta United 2. But NYCFC2 with the loss in South Florida stays in the 8 at 39 points and 11 wins. Rebs 2 at 42 points 11 wins. 25 matches played. Atlanta United 2 42 points 12 wins.

30:2725 matches played. Next match for them is actually next Tuesday that they after Labor Day. Finale for the home matches at the Children's Health Care Atlanta training ground. 2 o'clock Eastern kick. So if you want to play hooky from work, next Tuesday is the home finale for the 2s against the coy wolves of Connecticut United. We'll get into that in the pregame show next week. But Atlanta United 2 right now is in sixth. At 42 points 3 matches to go. Connecticut United 13 wins 43 points there in fifth. Red Bulls 2 3 matches to go 44 points in fourth. Crew 2 match in hand 24 matches played 45 points in third. Chattanooga FC 3 matches to go 4 points behind Crown Legacy at 47 points. Crown Legacy there in at 51 points 3 matches to go. We just don't know where they're going to be.

31:28So to set everything up here really quick. It is to get into the playoffs. You have four teams. Separate oh sorry five teams separated by three points. Eight through 12. NYC Chicago Fire Huntsville Orlando City B Philadelphia Union. Separated by three points. NYC FC right there is the top of that ladder in eighth. Then in the playoffs. You have six teams separated by five points. From two through seven. Chattanooga Crew Red Bulls at 44. Connecticut United 43 Atlanta 42 12 wins Revolution 42 11 wins. Chattanooga 47 points. So from Chattanooga 47 points to New England Revolution 2 in the seventh slot.

32:28Six teams separated by five points. Three matches to go except for crew who have a match in hand and they could jump over Chattanooga FC if they do get a win. So that's where things stand. That's why I'm playing the random NYC FC inner Miami highlight. Because that settles down. A team at the moment who is behind Atlanta United 2 in the race to get into the playoffs and stay in the playoffs. So there are two separate races in the Eastern Conference right now. The race to the eight. Five teams three points. And the race for positioning with every place else. Two through seven separated by five points. Like I said, most teams have three matches to go. Crew have a match in hand there in third and TFC have a match in hand there in 13. If they were to win it, they'd be at 36 points and then they would still be a part of the madness to try to get in.

33:30They would then be three points behind NYC FC 2. They would be one of the teams that has 10 wins. And I imagine unless it's a one goal win that they would be in a better position. And then Philadelphia Union. So they'd still be in 12 through 13th, but they would only be three points out of a playoffs spot. So you see where I'm going here. So that's why that's why we play really random in MLS next pro highlights for you this morning because of the positioning in MLS next pro when it comes to the postseason at present. Western Conference isn't as chaotic. The only race for them really is to get into the playoffs and it's four teams separated by two points from seven through 10. The Eastern Conference is just nuts. They have three teams eliminated, but you've got two separate groups trying to figure out where they fit in the postseason picture for MLS next pro. So that's what you've got. So let the chaos continue.

34:30But the next match up for Atlanta Tuesday afternoon two o'clock children, self-carever Atlanta training ground can etiquette united comes to town. And after their odd start, they've really settled into things. Seven, four and one on the road this year, Connecticut United by the way. So it's going to be a tall order for Atlanta United to who are eight, two, and three at home. Four, six, and two away from home this year, but that's the last home match Tuesday to a clock pregame 130 kickoff 203. We'll have it for you on the network. So that's why we played MLS next pro highlights an hour number one this morning. Because of what happened last night. So that is your MLS next pro update that involves it land united to and all the chaos that's attached with what's currently going on. And now you've got a play in game at eight nine. Which would be Chicago fire to add in my CFC to. If the season if the playoffs started right now.

35:31But you've got Huntsville City or land a city be at 38 points without a union to it 36 TFC two match and handed 33. That's to get into this play out the play in round that we're talking about. So you've got an eight nine now in MLS next pro and chaos reigns to go from two through seven and to figure out the eight nine, which is right now eight through 13. 36:37It was everybody was everybody in the transfer deadline day. So yeah, by the way, transfer deadline day and you're playing at the same time. So you had moments yesterday where teams were playing and then they're bringing in folks and then they're playing. They're trying to figure out, okay, are there ins or their outs? What's the deal? And so in league two, everybody was up and running. League one, everybody was up and running. Championship, everybody was up and running. Actually eight teams were up and running eight matchups. So 16 teams that were up and running yesterday. And so it was Preston North end and Bristol city. And you're sitting here and you're going Nelson, you're playing with me again. Why are you doing this? Well, frankly, courtesy of Preston North end their own selves. They had one goal on the board yesterday and the three one lost to Bristol City. You'll recognize the goal score. You said about Wiley in the first off.

37:37Should be at the target. Probably booked to little chance. Wiley coming forward! Wiley hits the target and takes the truth of the day. You're about to get the goal. Absolutely fantastic. What about you, Dave? You're about nipping an impact to two new fans at the plan of your first game. 38:39And he had 37 touches playing from a left midfield position. Looks like it was a 3-4-3-ish kind of a thing. So 66 minutes. Got a goal on the board. 18 to 25 passing at 72 percent. Two chances created. Four defensive contributions. One big chance missed to hit the woodwork once in addition to the goal. 37 touches. Four inside the 18 passes into the final 30 had four. Those he had won. Long ball. It was accurate defensive contributions. Four had a tackle. Had a clearance. It was headed. Two interceptions. Six recoveries. And Caleb was two for four on his duels on the day. So a very busy day for Caleb Wiley. Oh, so 352, sorry. So it was a 352 for Preston North end. And they end up getting the Duke in that one by the final. Well, Bristol City gets the win by the final 3-1. And so that was the, the debut of Caleb Wiley. As you heard from the local play by play in color.

39:44You know, you're playing out there. You get your, get your moment. Caleb Wiley just basically wound up. There were two angles to it. It was a really well struck ball from about 20. I mean, I'll say 25 because it was outside the arc. And it was well struck. It got past the keeper for Bristol City, but Bristol City once again scores twice in seven minutes. And they get the Duke 3-1 in the championship. And once again, early, early returns in the season. So Caleb Wiley, after he's still being loaned out to a lot of different folks. And so now this time, hopefully Caleb can stay healthy for a good stretch. And then he can continue what we got to see here as he was a part of the, the growth curve for Atlanta United to, but Caleb Wiley scores for Preston North end yesterday in a 3-1 loss to Bristol City. But once again, early returns, glad that Caleb Wiley was getting a, that he's got the start. Be that he's getting, that he's healthy at the moment.

40:46And the fact that he, and if you go to there, if you go to there 280 character account. You look on the header for Preston North end. And Caleb Wiley's headshot, his headshot slash action shot, is the, it's not the avatar, but it is the, the header for Preston North end. So right now, they are at the bottom of the table in the championship. But once again, only four matches played. Caleb Wiley scores. And they have four losses so far to start the season Preston North end. But once again, it's early. And folks are still trying to figure out what they're up to when it comes to the, when it comes to the EFL championship. So we'll keep an eye on that for you. But Caleb Wiley got the start yesterday. Very, very cool stuff there. Now, all right, let's get into transfer deadline day overseas. And we're going to do this in like two steps. This side will get into the wild and the weird. Since Jack Marchett said to join us in about 10 minutes.

42:47There were two deals that kind of personified the day on the odd side. And one of them had to do with Malik Fafana. One of them had to do with full air and Balagin. And then there was the Lamine Camaradil. So technically, there were three. Here is a mashup of everything that went with Malik Fafana. And all of the private jets and all the tarmacs and all of the things that were going on. Here's a mashup of Malik Fafana's day, at least from the coverage standpoint, from our friends at Sky Sports News. And now it's one of the most chaotic stories, probably in deadline day history involving three. Primarily clubs, two private jets and a club owner flying across Europe to convince a player to sign. Watch how Sunderland finally brought Malik Fafana to the rear side after paying Leon £30 million.

43:49Malik Fafana is the latest name being being made coming in. He has been discussed among the awesome hierarchy. And the feeling, I think, is that no, he's not want to come into the club at this moment. If Arsenal don't go for him, I think there's other Premier League clubs who should be looking at him. We come back with some breaking news and it concerns Sunderland because they have agreed a deal to sign Malik Fafana from Leon. As a son of a fan, I'd love to say that he's chosen us over Arsenal. We have news of a potential hijack. Crystal Palace now in direct communication with Malik Fafana and trying to hijack him from Sunderland. We love a bit of deadline day drama. Malik Fafana has moved to the Premier League is doing just that. Now we can give you the update that Crystal Palace have agreed a deal with Leon for Sunderland target Malik Fafana. Fafana was at Leon airport with two private jets, one headed towards London,

44:51one headed here towards the Northeast and he had, and I think probably still has a decision to make. One stage he was heading to Arsenal. 11 o'clock this morning it was Sunderland. Then it was Crystal Palace who looked like they'd hijack the deal or have they Keith Downey as it's Sunderland's training ground for us. And it's our understanding that Sunderland, if they manage to get the deal done, will hope to try and give him a medical over in France. It's a tile of deals being agreed, then it's off, then it's hijacks, it's a story of private planes and owners finding out whether they're going to get their player or not. So he's undergoing a medical that both Crystal Palace and Sunderland can have access to the results and the scans from which of course buys him more time. Yes, the summer 2026 window is now shut. The Sunderland, I've launched the Premier League deal sheet for Malik Fafana. It took for the Sunderland owner, Kirill Louis Dreyfus, to fly out to Leon on his own private jet

45:54and convince the player that Sunderland should be his destination and not London with Crystal Palace. Picture the scene at one stage this afternoon. There were two private jets sat on the runway, one heading here to Sunderland and one to London to Crystal Palace. It was up to the player to decide he did not make that decision for another six or seven hours. It was an on-off transfer, it was a saga, but finally Sunderland got there in the end, 31 million pounds for Fafana. Well, this is how the club announced it. It was always Sunderland, they say, although we suspect there may have been a few nerves during that deadline days. Yeah, there were a few nerves. Malik Fafana makes his way finally to Sunderland. Could you imagine with these two clubs, Crystal Palace and Sunderland, that you've got two private jets, you've got two PJs hanging out on a tarmac. It's like, all right, so unless you've got them on a retainer or on some kind of a sponsorship deal or something,

46:57those jets might be burning fuel, you know, you're burning hours with a pilot, unless the pilot's napping while all this is going on. So you've got two PJs on a tarmac waiting for a decision from Malik Fafana. And then you get a third one from the Sunderland owner, Carol Louis Dreyfus, he goes to the airport in Leone and tries to sway opinion, he finally does. But you have one player, two private jets, two separate destinations, a back and forth, either a Pipera Gazump, an owner flies in, decision gets swayed and you end up with Malik Fafana going finally to Sunderland for 31 million. Plus, all of the expenses on the initial, on the initial private jet sent by Sunderland to go settle on a tarmac in Leone, and the expenses from Crystal Palace to have a PJ settle on a tarmac in Leone,

47:57plus the third private jet of the owner of Sunderland flying in to be on a tarmac in Leone, France to get Malik Fafana to figure out what direction he wants to go. All of that in one location. And that wasn't necessarily the wackiest deal of the day. Probably the deal of the day was one that didn't happen. And it had to do with full air and balligan and Lemine Camara, and how they're somewhat intertwined. So basically, Monaco canceled the transfer of Lemine Camara to Chelsea, because they thought they'd reached an agreement for full air and balligan to go to Everton. But the balligan transfer falls through and then a S Monaco, which had to sell at least one of the two players, ends up selling neither one.

49:00So they're stuck because they have the equivalent of FFP. They have financial things that they have to look into. They have to look at all of their financials and go, OK, we've got issues here. We got to try and solve. They thought they did solve them once they thought the full air and balligan was going to Everton. Then that doesn't happen. And then they have canceled Lemine Camara to Chelsea. So the best way to explain it is this. So Monaco needed to make a sale to help resolve a dead issue and free up a non EU squad spot to sign Mexican, and it's your Eric Lira. Monaco agreed to a deal to self-ful air and balligan to Everton. Medical during the medical you had issues. Transfer stalls out Chelsea, with Enzo Fernandez going to Manchester City. They go all in for Lemine Camara and reach an agreement with Monaco.

50:02Everton turned to Joshua Zerck see after the balligan deal, but Manchester United didn't want to let him go. Everton returned for balligan, attempted to renegotiate the deal on cheaper terms. Monaco preferred selling balligan rather than Camara, so they pulled the plug on Camara's move to Chelsea. They could have canceled Enzo's move to Manchester City. Instead they allow Enzo to go despite not having a replacement. And then balligan decides not to go to Everton following the medical. And he leaves the training center without signing to any. So Monaco keeps both Baligan and Camara failing to raise the money they wanted. Did not free up the EU's, did not use spot for Eric Lira. There for doesn't go to Monaco Chelsea loses Enzo Fernandez for a Premier League record fee and missed out on Camara. Everton misses out on both Baligan and Zerck see having already sold Beto to Fiore and Tina.

51:02Here no barry is now their only center forward. So that is what happened with Valar and Baligan, Lemine Camara. Chelsea Everton and who else am I missing? Chelsea and Everton and AS Monaco Monaco CEO Thiago Scuto on Camara and Flow Baligan. To Ben Jacobs quote, we needed to generate money pushed by the regulations. We had two topics in mind selling Camara and Orr Baligan made clear that our priority was to keep Lemine at the club. We were open to the transfer for Baligan during the day. We had a clear agreement for Baligan to go to Everton. Baligan flew yesterday morning to go for his medical sign a contract. Our plan worked very well in this moment. It's a situation until mid afternoon. What happened is that Chelsea was always testing and trying. What about Lemine? What about Lemine around 1600 yesterday four o'clock in the afternoon. We got a contact from Chelsea. Okay, we sold a player in this position meeting Enzo Fernandez. Deal done.

52:02Is there any possibility Monaco is open to selling Lemine? The answer was the same. No, Baligan was in Liverpool undergoing his medical. Everything going pretty well around 1900. It's four o'clock local time here. We were contacted by Everton raising questions about Baligan's medical, which for our medical staff, as well as for the players personal medical staff, made no sense at all. And then of course Chelsea saw the opportunity. Quote, okay, Monaco needs money. They thought Baligan struggling to get done. Let's go. Let's try. And this is the game. It's fair to play this game. There is no problem. It was almost eight o'clock. When we started negotiations with Chelsea, I informed the player, meaning Camara, directly myself. I called him. We had discussions about the conditions for Lemine to go to Chelsea. At the same time, the medical discussions were ongoing with Baligan. And what happened was around 10 o'clock. Everton realized, okay, there is no problem. We're ready to do it. Let's sign the contract as soon as we got the information. We came back to Chelsea and thought, okay, we have our deal there with Everton. There's no deal on with Chelsea. It's also fair to do this.

53:02It's also part of the game. Because of this, we become the bad guys in the room. People say Monaco is not fair. Monaco is not right. It's too much. Then with Baligan, we had five minutes to spare to finalize the game. I was just a little bit scared to finalize the deal. I signed the contract. Everton signed the contract at the last moment the player decided not to sign. Baligan's allegation is, quote, I'm not feeling well because of the way the club treated me. I'm not feeling well because Everton's medical department raised doubts about my future or my health. I have nothing, meaning no medical issues. So I'm not comfortable signing a long contract here. And that's how we finished our transfer window. Ben Jacobs says Everton's sources say Monaco were slack in providing appropriate medical records to expedite the deal. And Baligan was late to arrive to formalize the move. So that is one side of the one side of the big saga, the Monaco side. And then Everton's sources saying that Monaco was slow in providing the appropriate medical records to get the deal done.

54:03And Baligan was late to arrive to formalize the deal. Oh boy. So that seems with Kamara and Baligan and Enzo kind of sorta that was I think the personification of this entire day. And that gets us to 10 o'clock. Hydration break time presented by friends at local vine beer wine and liquor store. And there's locations here in the Atlanta area. Thanks for being great partners with us here in 2026. You go John's Creek, you go Cumberland. And once again, you go in and you have a list, you're probably going to walk out with a lot more because I walked in to do a remote about a month ago during the World Cup two months ago. I walk in and it's Florida ceiling. It's like literally a two store thing in Cumberland, two storey thing in Cumberland. And I was like, man, there's a lot of stuff here. So if you're an impulse shopper, you might be in trouble. And you might be in trouble.

55:04So I'm going to go out and just buy our friends at local vine beer wine and liquor stores once again everybody hydrate. Jack Marchin, you're allowed to hydrate sir. Are you hydrating? Always always mainly with coffee in the morning. There you go. Always hydrate right there with your brother. But I'm not a coffee guy, but this is my mountain doing the morning. So. How are you my friend? Doing all right. Doing all right. It's obviously been a tough week here at Georgia College, but. I'm going to get the wheels in motion again. And I know everybody's looking to looking forward to returning to the field on Saturday for our next game. And for those that do not know, obviously it has been a tough. It's been a tough little while for the GCSU family for the South family. And when you have sisters on a team that you know that mean as much to who A, they're on a immediate family and then the GCSU family. Sadly, is he loses her battle and it's been obviously weighing on a lot of folks. How they how's everybody?

56:04How is everybody? I guess is my first question. You know, the source family is incredibly strong. It has been like you said, a tough a tough time for everybody. And you know, the news here on on Sunday that we unfortunately lost is a we were actually on the road. Heading down to Val Dosta when we turned around and came back, but everyone has been absolutely amazing. The girls have handled it so well. And again, obviously our thoughts are all with with Mandy Chris and Savannah. But we know what is he would want who is who was the most. Confident up be positive person. I think I've ever met even with all the adversity she faced in her life. She she still always had a smile on her face. And you know, she would want us to continue and be as successful as we possibly can be. And you know, I think a really a really positive thing is knowing that she's always going to be with us.

57:07And she's going to be, you know, even more motivation for us as we move through the season. Do you remember the first time you met her? Yes, I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I met her. Obviously we we'd recruited Savannah here prior to Izzy and chatting with Chris on the visit. Obviously we knew a busy anyway. And I know that part of her lifelong goals was to play in college with her sister. And it was a no brainer from us. And I remember bringing Izzy on her visit. And then when she she returned to us about a month later. She basically told me this is where I'm going to play. I wasn't want to argue with Izzy. But again, even then, you know, she kind of chatted about her held stuff. And you know, we were always there for her and whatever she needed. And to be able to come in and and be with us last year, be on the team. Again, step on the field and make a collegiate debut with a sister was an amazing thing.

58:11And even throughout the spring. And you know, as we ended into this fall. She was in Millageville, although enrolled at GMC just because it made life a little bit easier for a class load wise. She was still with us. And you know, I don't really, I'm not very much a religious person, but I do believe in something. And you kind of have to when you look back at last Thursday. And Izzy's with us at the game. She's on the sideline. And Sav scores her first collegiate goal after 39 seconds. It makes it hard to believe that there isn't something out there pushing us in the right direction. So, you know, that's that's a memory that will stick with with me and with the whole program. For the rest of our lives. And you know, she spent the weekend with her family surrounded by everybody. And Sav was with her, you know, at the end, which is, which is all you could ever want really. She's been surrounded by your loved ones. But her positivity will will rain forever. And again, like I said, we'll just constantly use it as motivation.

59:14Not that we need anymore, but knowing that she's with us and supporting us all the way. And there is a go fund me out there and we'll spread the details of the go fund me later on in the show. Now to the season stuff and the on the field stuff. We all know how tough the peach belt is. You know, you and I when conversations and things like that, but for someone who doesn't know about peach belt division to what GC issue has to deal with on a match by match basis. How would you break down for someone who hasn't seen it? How tough the conference is. There's no easy games. I think that's the biggest thing that we can talk about. And, and from, from my standpoint, and I'd like to think I speak to quite a lot of the full lot of the coach in the conference is that's what we enjoy. You know, there is no games that you walk up and go, you know, we're going to walk out of this winning 4 5 0. Every game is a challenge. Everybody's different. And that brings honestly the most enjoyment out of it because you know when you do get success in this conference, it's certainly well earned and well respected by everybody else.

1:00:21And the level has just got better and better. I'm now entering year 5. There was quite a few coaching changes a couple years ago, but now, you know, no new coaches in the league this year, which means everyone starting to establish their programs, which obviously makes it a little bit more difficult. But honestly, like I said, more enjoyable because you kind of have to watch everybody really closely to see to see who's performing well and what we need to do. But, you know, ultimately a lot of goals for their programs in this in this league is to is to compete at the national level. And this league sets us up to do that perfectly. And we're hoping this year that this is the breakthrough year for us that we can get into that conversation. And when we do get there, you know, we're going to be prepared for whatever challenges other teams throw us because this league is so competitive. So coming from last year into this year, the question that I kind of like to ask coaches as seasons have started, the lessons that you pull from 25 that you bring with you into 26 were what?

1:01:25You know, a big thing for us is if I look over the past two seasons, previous two seasons here where we've finished back to back fourth place, you know, that first year, we had 16 seniors on the team. And the conversations were very much with the older ones, you know, make this the best season that we can make it. And with the younger ones, not to panic because we knew we had talent coming in in 2025. And in in 2025, I think, you know, the more we've talked about that season, the more proud we are because although there was a few returners, not many have had experience on the field. So last year, a ton of them got loads of experience on the field and finishing fourth again. So now as we enter this year, it was used that experience that you've got to to fuel what we need to do and break it down kind of game by game as well as adding a very talented 10 players to the group that we already had. And so that that's kind of been the conversation of let's not forget what got us here and then how do we then take that to the next level.

1:02:29And you're doing this for the most part there are some folks that do not know what did not know going in about the 404 the 478 the 229 to the 912 area code. There were a couple of folks that were brought in that I do want to separate from the pack here. Yeah, but you're doing it looking at all of the high school talent from the state of Georgia, you're recruiting inside state lines, you've set up the wall at GCSU. It's like, okay, the wall is here. I'm recruiting 90% of my folks from the state of Georgia. That obviously with your experience, you know, that's got to be one of those things. It's like, yep, I'm good. I mean, is it that simple? It's like, yeah, I'm good. I know what the state of Georgia can bring and I know that I can bring them here to GCSU. I mean, when we first got here, I remember my first recruiting visit, Natalie and who actually graduated from here last year was in three issues, valedictorian sat in my office and said, I've always wanted to come here. What do I need to do? And I thought this recruiting my luck is quite easy.

1:03:34But it made me quite aware that we weren't quite as present as we probably needed to be in the state of Georgia. And I think, you know, as we've grown, I remember bringing in my graduate assistant two years ago, who's from Florida and I remember sitting down with her going, like, we need to recruit more out of state because they add you know, different culture, different types of soccer to your roster. But then when we looked at it, you know, when you've got five ECL teams and three GA teams in Metro Atlanta, the amount of talented soccer players that are in Georgia, there's no need to kind of go looking elsewhere and dig deep because it's right on our doorstep. And you know, I remember we had the similar mentality at Georgia state when I was there is we need to be knowing every soccer player in the state of Georgia and doing our utmost to make sure that we're in Georgia. Make sure that they don't cross state lines and leave the state and also make sure that they don't go to our rivals rivals in state and, you know, been here now for like I said, five years, but in the Metro Atlanta area for eight years, building those relationships with those club coaches.

1:04:35It's been massive for what we've wanted to do and you know, a big point of pride for us is that in my four and a bit years here, we haven't had anybody on the transfer portal wanting to leave. And so, you know, that's kind of a big part of our philosophy here is yes, we want to be successful on the field and compete for championships and do that, but we also want to graduate people from here because we know what a fantastic institution that is. So, you know, even with that being said, a lot of people know of Georgia College, know of Millageville, but even then when they come down and see as they're a bit surprised at what we have to offer in terms of, you know, the aesthetics of the school, how academically driven the school is. I think people are still a bit taken aback by how how it is here and that's always been a massive help for us as well and we're in a position now for a lot of people unfortunately we're having to turn people away, which is a really tough decision to make. But at the same time, you know, we're knocking on the door of some really good talent here in Georgia and we've got to make sure that we continue to do that and we don't rest because again, we are competing with Jay at Columbus and Kali at North Georgia who are all going after the same people.

1:05:47And we just want to make sure our hats in the ring with those people because on the field, I feel like we're closing the gap and it's our job to keep doing that. Because we, you know, as a part of our coverage of the high school game, you look at your roster and it's some heavyweight pedigrees. It's the West Forsyth and you're catching up with Jason up there and, you know, it's the Aconie County Schools and we know what, you know, Coach Hamby, it brings to the table, whether it's Aconie County or North or North Gwyneth. So you're able to right now go into all of these heavyweight that are that have massive pedigrees inside the GHSA and fight with you and Jay and everybody and bring everybody there. I mean, do I want to know what these recruiting battles are like among the three of you here in the state of Georgia. It's enjoyable, you know, it's enjoyable, but you know, I think we're all extremely professional and everything that we do and you know, our job here is to talk about Georgia College and what we have to offer and provide these kids with as much information as we can on us and leave the decision up to them.

1:06:54And I think that's what makes, you know, the peach belt again is how much we respect each other professionally and respect each other's programs. But you know, a big thing for that is, you know, high school is important because, you know, that's normally the last soccer or sort of structured soccer they have before they come to college. So, you know, as well as taking getting kids from these really established, ECNL, ECRL programs and GA programs, you know, we're now getting kids from established high school programs who come in with the winning mentality of, you know, they're looking at making final falls at whatever level high school they're at. And that's what we're trying to build here is that winning mentality and that comes from club high school and hopefully feed into into what we're trying to achieve here. So then when you have internationals and on your roster, you have two fins and I mean that not looking at a fish and what they use to navigate in the water, but you have two players who have come over from Finland when you are recruiting internationally.

1:07:56How does that go? Is it WhatsApp? Is it tape? Is it somebody tapping you in the shoulder in an email? How does international recruiting go in these cases? So to be honest, it's a bit like any recruitment. It's its connections and we were very lucky with with Yeni and Kaiser, you know, the company that we used. My assistant Joanne, who's actually a full-time professor here, she coached the Avera in Virginia and Suvi, who is our finished connection, she played there. And again, she kind of had the mindset of her education was the priority and Joe would tell you that she could have played any level that she wanted to over here, but she decided to go to Division 3 because she really wanted to focus on our academics. So having that connection and having her understand because again both Yeni and Kaiser were talking to mid-major division one schools and they ended up coming here was based on the relationship that we have with Suvi and that Joe has with Suvi.

1:08:58But it is a lot of film, ultimately, you know, in an ideal world, I'd love to get over to Finland a lot more. But yeah, it's a lot of film and making sure that, you know, physically they can adapt to this game. And I think, you know, Yeni now in year two is hit the ground running. I think she knows what to expect a little bit more. This game is, the college game is certainly a lot different in central midfield than it is in most European countries where, you know, as they adopt normal soccer rules where players are playing 70, 80 minutes and then getting subbed off, whereas in the college game, you know, the line change is kind of every 15 minutes and you've got to deal with the relentless pace. And Kaiser as a centre back, the game doesn't really change for centre backs if it moves kick it, if it doesn't move kick it until it does move. And that's the way that Kaiser kind of approaches her game, but she's brilliant. I mean, freshman of the year in the conference first team or conference. And, you know, another thing that we look at big picture wise is their season in Finland is over the summer. So they went home this summer, both playing in the second division in Finland and have come back, you know, in fantastic shape and hit the ground running.

1:10:08And, you know, I think the most pleasing thing for me was, although it was a few years ago, I was in their shoes once upon a time as well. And I think the focus of having them not just adapt to the soccer here, but the lifestyle. And I think my most enjoyable thing watching them is how much they enjoy it here. And they're really embracing the experience of what college soccer can give you. And they're just going from strength to strength. Because Helsinki is not where you are. It is not millage bill. How do you address culture shock? Because I would imagine, you know, it's like there unless there's something I don't know. Is there a PJ that you have that can get leave from the middle of the middle of the report to go to Helsinki to. Is there a private jet, Jack? I mean, is it not quite? No, not quite. But thankfully, you know, being where we are in the state of Georgia. You know, it's an hour and a half to the international terminal. And we've got a fantastic group here. We all look after each other and get them.

1:11:13But I remember chatting them chatting with them, you know, in June of last year. And they said, well, it's hot, you know, it's 68 degrees here in Helsinki. And I said, well, I'd add another 30 degrees to that one because that's what it is here. You know, I think that was the biggest adjustment for them. But lifestyle wise, you know, it's why I enjoy millage bill so much. You know, this place is extremely walkable, you know, campus. We're right across the street from downtown, you know, everything's extremely walkable here. They're walking to and from class from their apartment now. I think that all helps with the adjustment to it all, not having to constantly rely on people for this that and the other. They're both very independent. I think, yeah, weather was probably the biggest thing and their immune systems getting used to being, you know, 100 degrees outside and 60 degrees in classrooms, constant body temperature. I think Jenny was a as a frequent flyer member at CVS, I think. So, you know, that I feel like they're fully adjusted.

1:12:14They're fully immersed and they're embracing everything that gets thrown at them. Again, going back to the beginning, they were extremely close with the source family. You know, they were out there for Thanksgiving last year and spent time with them before. So they've had to handle that as well. But, you know, they've got a support system of 26 people built in and around them and everyone's been fantastic. So, you know, we are looking forward to getting back out on the field tonight and getting ready to roll again. And you're in a schedule that, you know, and I think that this is fairly common inside of college soccer, where you're all seeming to be the poster children for schedule compression. It is three matches in a week. It is fairly consistent in that because it is a sprint to get through the regular season and then you've got your conference and then, you know, your postseason from there. How difficult is it to navigate all of these matches in a very short period of time and all the compression and everything? What's that like for you and the staff to navigate? Yeah, but it's tough. And I think, you know, the southeast region as a whole is a powerhouse and something that we really enjoy being in.

1:13:21Obviously, we're all quite closely connected as coaches. But it's, you know, we joked about with the girls, especially the young ones, you know, we say on day one of preseason. You're at 100% and now our job as we roll through the season is you're never going to be there again, but we want to try to keep you as close to 100% as possible. So the biggest thing is, you know, managing the girls bodies first and foremost and making sure we're in the best place we can physically be to compete every week. You know, the division to schedule is is is massive in terms of, you know, we play Wednesday Saturday for the most part. So they do get Sunday off. It's a chance for everybody to reset and regroup. And then your Wednesday night game is obviously under the lights and where we're we're very fortunate. In terms of peach belt soccer that geographically we're pretty much bang in the middle of the conference. So, you know, our travel, if you look at the lights of of land or a truck traveling four and a half, five hours to Columbus and and Georgia South Western, whereas, you know, our kind of longest trip obviously flagler being a bit of an outlier is, you know, 245 up to DeLoniger.

1:14:27So that helps a lot with our with our scheduling. And then when it comes to the non-conference, you know, my goal here is we want to be competing at the top end of the region. So we need to be playing those teams. So I think if you look at our schedule, I think everybody that we're playing in their own region or in our region is in kind of the top 15. And we're just very fortunate that that amount of quality soccer is is in and around us here. But, you know, it's just taken them down one hurdle at a time. And, you know, that's what I've really enjoyed about division two is that every game matters because it's all regional rankings and and where you fall come the end of the season. You're not just your conference schedule. So we've learned, you know, in the past two years finishing four, we haven't lost to anybody who finished below us in the conference. And that's part the reason why we've finished fourth, but we haven't beaten anybody above us. So, you know, we want to we need to kind of remedy that. But then in the past, you know, we feel like our weaknesses have really lied in the first four or five games because we're still trying to kind of figure out who our strongest team is and who our rotations are.

1:15:32And it's kind of taken as a long time to get going what that's why kind of last Thursday was an ideal start, you know, it was I found out yesterday it was the most goals was scored in a home opener against a North Greenville team who I think are going to be very, very good. You know, it's just one of those days I spoke to Steven there coach after the game. It was his first first game there in women soccer and he came over from the men and you know, at half time it could have been two to it could have very easily been two to and then it would have been a really different second half. But we came out and kind of, you know, blew them out the water in the first kind of 50 minutes, which obviously set us up to have a really successful day. But now it's important that we build on that and don't let kind of the hard work that we put in in the kind of three weeks building up to that. Go to waste, you know, kind of our mentality is we've tried to attack this season is I think you naive not to look at other teams and what make them successful. But you also want to kind of do it your own way and learning again, eight old adage age old adage in soccer is defense win your championships.

1:16:34And I think if you look at, you know, the likes of land a last year, they that's what they did. They were just extremely difficult to beat and they were extremely successful at what they did. And that's kind of our mentality is we've moved into this season is yeah, we want to be entertaining. We want to score lots of goals. But I constantly want a zero next to the opposition's name on the scoreboard come the end of the day because history's told me if that happens, you rarely lose those games. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you mean math brother. Absolutely. Yeah. And so the big thing as well is I've kind of jokingly after obviously after a fantastic summer of soccer here in the US is not to pull Thomas Tuckle when we're winning one nil against somebody in part of the bus. So try be as positive as possible, but never forget the message of what we want to try and do. Absolutely. Getting back to it today and then obviously you've got Lincoln Memorial in the weekend and a week from today another home match with Montevallo. It's always great to see my friend. I know that to this particular time around it was a mixed bag of what we had to get into, but thank you for your candor and obviously your honesty in a very difficult situation there.

1:17:40But obviously know that we're thinking about you all the time and it's great to see my friend do not be a stranger. Thank you, John. Great to see any of you speak. All right, there goes Jack March and he is the head coach at GCSU and a peach belt. Like I said, peach belt is one of the most and we all get locked into the idea of division one. If you're in other areas and you're near division two in the peach belt, if you're near any of these matches, literally we've got to we've got to catch up with Jayant like over at Columbus state. And we are making the tour and trying to catch up with as many folks as we can inside this conference because of how insanely competitive this conference is. And so early in the year we're trying to take the tour and get everybody acquainted with what's going on there on the women's soccer side and peach belt specifically but then on the men's side as well. Look, there's a lot to get into when it comes to one of the toughest division to conference one of the toughest conferences in the country regardless of division.

1:18:40But to be able to do that against to be able to do that with folks and obviously to reset what was going on with GCSU. They have a sister tandem from Loganville and the sisters obviously are, you know, part of the fabric of that of that team Savannah and Izzy South. And Savannah is a junior defender went to Loganville high school and her sister Izzy. Year behind was on the nursing track and also went to Loganville so Izzy had been fighting cancer and it you know it's rare type of melanoma and she'd been undergoing treatment for over two years. And so then last week it had gotten to the point to where literally it was it was hospice and back on the 25th of August it was basically the news was delivered to the family that there isn't anything else that could be done.

1:20:06And this is going to get heavy for a second so the melanoma that Izzy had had gotten to the point to where they had tried to do three weeks of radiation early in the month of August. And what was inside had metastasized the radiation had no effect and everything that was there had metastasized and then she was on and then Izzy was on medication from that moment forward. Obviously kept her fairly fatigued and everything and you have a family that could not have been more appreciative for what was done at the children in self care but Lana complex and also with Emory. But Izzy was lost to us back on Sunday as Jack said and it was merely afternoon on August 30 that is he was taken from us far too soon as part of the Loganville community part of the GCSU community and part of the soccer community.

1:21:19And so there is a go fund me that is up for the South's family and it is and I'm going to go ahead and put it in the chat. So if you are if you are so inclined then this is the go fund me for the South's family. And obviously you know when you are fighting and I was about to give the e-rating for this morning but I'm not a fan of cancer because it has struck multiple ways inside my family multiple versions and such. So I know what it means to have cancer attack a family not just a person but a family and I'm not just talking blood blood relations and everyone who is a part of that particular family that is impacted by cancer.

1:22:21It's multi fold and the South's have gone through this with someone far too young. And I mean look Izzy was a sophomore at GCSU that's how young we're talking here and then Izzy was taken from us this past weekend. And obviously you know when you talk about things on the field Jack March and had mentioned that they got the news they turned around and came back home. And there was you know obviously had a couple of matches that were on the books and were supposed to be in Valdosta taking on Valdosta state when you said they were on the way down got the news turned around one back home. They were supposed to play in St. Petersburg Florida today against Eckerd obviously with Jack being on campus they're in Millageville they're not.

1:23:22So their first match up is Lincoln Memorial this weekend in Millageville and then they got a home game again on the night thing it's Montevallo so they've got Saturday Wednesday coming up for home matches. So and then they get into the conference play but they're having to do this remembering one of their own so it is part and partial to why we got the chance to catch up with Jack this morning. We're going to check in first and foremost see how they're doing and just in our small way be a reminder about the soccer community and how we're all there for each other. So like I said I posted the go fund me for the South family and like I said if you are so inclined then by all means you know help out however you can and however you wish.

1:24:23So but it's been tough it's been a tough early part of the season for DC issue when you lose someone who is a sophomore in college and everything that the South family has to worry about on a daily basis everything that they're going through on a daily basis. But they obviously did not go through it alone and are not going through it alone. The go fund me is doing very well but obviously we still wanted to post it because you know that never really ends. But to catch up with Jack Marchen today find out about GC issue and I can't thank Jack enough for his candor and all of this but there's your part of the reason we wanted to catch up with GC issue. And now with that knowledge and like I said just carve out a place just carve out a quick thought for everybody there that's impacted by the program and for the South family there too.

1:25:23So didn't mean to kind of bring things down a little bit but you know it was it was it's an important story for Loganville and for and for everyone at GC issue and everyone in here in the soccer community. So to bring that up as a part of what we were talking about here this morning with Jack and it would not have been we would not have been doing our we would not have been doing our best if we didn't bring it up because it means that much to that that community there on two fronts and Loganville and acknowledge. So next up for them home game so if you see if you're anywhere close to a GC issue game this year on the girls on the women side just you know I said carve out a little part carve out a little place for them and have them in your thoughts so thanks again to Jack Marchen for coming on with us in a very very difficult time. Okay let's circle back into the discussion about the good the bad and the ugly when it came to yesterday and the transfer window everybody's now ranking everyone across the board how did the two how did the the Premier League sides do all this kind of stuff.

1:26:39And believe it or not Brentford is being ranked as the top team in the transfers Everton's being ranked last obviously with the drama that we talked about with fuller and Baligan moved Ilman in jai to you know you Manchester City gets Ilman in jai beating spurs to what was what a lot of folks were thinking was a pretty good deal at 60 million Jack greelishes in there on alone right back goes to and anzley made niles arrived on deadline day incoming players you dropped 77 million outgoing you had 103.2 so you helped yourself out financially but you didn't really help yourself out on the pitch. Jamie Caracher was asked about Everton he's not a fan so here's what carousel on sky sports on sky sports Monday night about Everton and ain't good.

1:27:43Yeah I think so yeah I mean listen I I stated this a while ago a good few years ago that I think I haven't been one of the way I'm close I think in the Premier League era the one of the ever presence does not many of them but when you think of whatever and way before the Premier League started one of the you know the biggest clubs in the country. And then the Premier League sort of kicks in about you know the early to mid 90s. I think very rarely could you ever look at Everton in the Premier League era and feel like it was a well-worn chef ever felt like it was in place it looked like a club people looked at and thought okay that's the way to do it maybe there's a time with David Moeys and Bill Kenwright was there at that time when it you know it was signing really well really clever business from the lower leagues the championship and look good really but. Since that time sort of four or five years era that then it just it just feels messy all the time and when you think of their supporters as well and a lot of supporters are always unhappy with their own clubs you know everybody is no one likes to see you all they only should be spending more money you'll hear that from every club.

1:28:51But when it feels really justified I think it's probably a really and you just it just always feels like this sort of like ambition or the go in some way you don't feel like what you have either on you know they doesn't feel like they go in anywhere really. So Jamie Carick are kind of piling on and reminding everybody just how difficult it is right now for Everton to do what it is that they're not doing Everton ranked at number 20 and just to give you an idea just to give you an idea about all of the blank and money that got spent this summer to give you an opportunity to do it. So this is the idea of the sheer numbers of it all the sheer numbers of it all six point six billion pounds spent on 1443 deals and this is in this transfer window the summer 26 window all the deals from Europe's top five leagues total six point six billion pounds in dollars on 1443.

1:30:04And then you get into specifically the Premier League by the time the window closes from Adam Kraft and at the athletic by the time the window closed six o'clock dinner time here last night 11 o'clock when big Ben chimed in London. Premier League clubs had spent 3.6 billion pounds just under five billion dollars according to analysis by the athletic and 1.7 billion pounds or 2.3 billion of that was spent on those in last seasons Premier League and they spend that shatters all previous windows for spending within the division. And it does and so literally it just exploded from south of a billion dollars in the secondary window in the summer in the summer window last year to now basically it practically double in the sixth summer windows between 2017 and the 22 seasons the average Premier League spend on players registered to Premier League clubs in the previous year.

1:31:13418.2 million pounds basically a comparative fourfold increase this summer from that number five summer windows between 2020 and 2025 Manchester United committed transfer fees to only one outfield senior player from a Premier League club Mason Mount from Chelsea. Resmus Hoiland Joshua Zerkecy Andre O'Nanah Donnie Vanderbake Antony Tyrell Molassia all of those ideas that were outside of England has now kind of caused Manchester United to look inward and spend inside the league and by a lot of folks a lot of folks intimations overspend inside the league not just Manchester United. Central midfield Manchester United bought three midfielders for 148 million pounds from Premier League rivals Arsenal got Bruno Gamerash from Newcastle for 75 million Manchester City spend over 240 million on L8 Anderson and Enzo Fernandez Spurs spent 185 million for San Antonio Mateus Fernandez Arsenal and Chelsea previously committed over 100 million pounds to furnish their midfields Declan Reissan Moises Caisedo in previous summers.

1:32:31Newcastle signed up nine players of which only Niko Gonzalez a 52 million pound recruit from Manchester City came from the Premier League Liverpool Fulham Bournemouth recruited six five and four none from the Premier League. Sunderland signed five in total four of which were external market buys others have been total Mishmash Brighton signed 11 from 10 different leagues but their biggest purchase by a distance was Luke of Uskovich for 50 million pounds from Spurs. Crafton continues in his analysis yet what we have seen in this window indicates that the Premier League is now to a significant extent operating its own football economy washing money around among its member clubs and leaving the rest of your fighting for its scraps. English top flight is therefore been forced to reconcile with another reality colon it must deal with rivals closest to home. This therefore means that not only do Chelsea pick off Morgan Rogers but asked and villa then become one of Chelsea's few options to be able to offload Garnau and Nicholas Jackson.

1:33:35And they asked about Savio and Manchester City. The Highlow Moodyrick going to Spurs. Barcelona Real Madrid PSG Bayern and a couple of clubs in Italy salaries of even mid table Premier League players are often a stretch or beyond the reach of most four in clubs competing in the Champions League. Major increase because of this and intra Premier League transfers in the summer proceeding 2425. 791 million pounds rising to 1.2 billion last summer before jumping to 1.7 this time around. 20 players purchased from within last season's division for 40 million pounds or more. Spurs bought five United Manchester City each three Arsenal Chelsea to each villa Brighton Brentford leads for us to Newcastle get one. 11 Premier League clubs bought a Premier League player for 40 million pounds or higher only five were sold outside of the Premier League for 40 million or higher. Roderine Anthony Gordon, Cook areia to Johnny Rinders and Oli Watkins across Europe the number of clubs making any signings at all from any market for over 40 million pounds was vanishingly small.

1:34:47Of the top 18 non Premier League teams who qualified among the top 24 from Champions League group phase. Byron Barso, Real Madrid PSG purchased a single player this summer for 40 million pounds or more only seven of those. Those previously mentioned plus UVA Galatasaray and Juventus. Okay, so that's two. So you've as mentioned twice the article so you've a Galatasaray signed a single player for 30 million pounds or more. 12 Premier League players a teams of about players bought 28 from all markets with single fees of 40 million pounds or higher. 13 Premier League teams bought 45 players with fees of 30 million or higher every Premier League team has acquired at least two players worth over 20 million of the 164 signings made by Premier League clubs. 37% of the players are signed from clubs in the Premier League last season yet signings by the Premier League accounted for 48% of the divisions 3.6 billion pound spent. If you add in the 150 one and a half million pounds spent on players who played last season in the championship.

1:35:50It means that 52% of the Premier League's total spend has gone to Premier League clubs. Premier League spending in its own division and in France combined accounted for 50% of the Premier League's total spend this summer. Barclay, Buadding, Ipswich Town spent in France three English clubs Liverpool Manchester City and Ipswich accounted for 54% of the Premier League's overall spending in France. In Greece Premier League team spent a total of 44 million pounds on three players all of which went to last season's runner up Olympiacos. France for example 67% of the 621.4 million pounds was split between four clubs PSG Leal Straussburg and Toleuse. Just under 50% of it went to PSG and Leal alone. In Austria Premier League spent 24.6 million on three players but 20 million go to Salzburg, team that won 13 of the last 18 Austrian championships.

1:36:57In Portugal 92.3 million pounds of the 118 were spent to Benfica and sporting. So you have all of this that has been going on involving the Premier League spending in and of itself. And by the way, at the athletic just to give you an idea, Tim Spires ranked all of the transfers from the window. All 155 of them. And I mean to drop knowledge on 155 transfers and I'm literally going all the way to the bottom here and for me to scroll as long as I've had to scroll to get to these. He has Emmy Martine is going from Billita Chelsea as the number one transfer Gimuresh from Newcastle to Arsenal at number two. Mama to Sungata lens to Brentford at number three. And that seems to be the bargain of the the window by the way.

1:38:00Elliott Anderson at number four, Barclay at number five, Manzambi from Freiberg, De Villa at number six. Antonio Silva Benfica to born with at seven. Gonzalo Garcia, Real Madrid, the Follum at eight, Enzo at number nine and at number 10, Max Enselaqua, Crystal Palace to Chelsea. So those are his top 10 transfers of the window. So now getting into where we are today. Obviously there are folks on freeze and you can still do those kinds of moves. So as we look and sit here and go, okay, so what else is left on the table? The answer is plenty. There is plenty to play with here. So if we look at and we'll do this internationally and then we'll come into what's going on here in Major League Soccer because we have to keep an eye on it today.

1:39:01Because this is the end of the window today in MLS. So we now know and so this might end up drifting into MLS territory. Now we in the last 15 minutes have a number attached to Morgan Whitaker. We knew yesterday it was going to be a club record signing. It looks like it's going to be $10.7 million. Whatever that translates into overseas probably closer to 15, $59 million. So Colorado looks like they're going to be paying $10.7 million from Morgan Whitaker. He's apparently en route to Colorado. Now he is according to Ben Jacobs in the air. So Colorado, no problem spending money. None whatsoever. Shim Muka has signed a new deal with Chelsea through 31 joining Celtic on a season long loan James Tavernier completed his medical ahead of joining at Maccabee Telev even a 1 plus 1.

1:40:05Chelsea spending at $328 million in this window generated 519 million player sales and loan fees, which is believed to be a record selling Inzo Fernandez. For 125 Chelsea became the first club to make a profit only 100 million pound player. 10 first team players arrive, Reese James expected to play a leading role in the midfield this season. Femi Aziz confirmed from Brighton from Millwall four year deal in the Fee in the region of 15 million pounds. Sondalin once again Malik Fafana confirmed Dario Osorio confirmed joining on loan from Michieland conditional obligation to buy. Transfer loan 26.26 million euro plus a 4 million obligation and a 2 million loan fee Michieland retain a sell on leads confirming Jean Mateo Bauhoi has joined from I'm track Frankfurt on a loan 23 plus 5 with a buy option and a 2 million loan fee so it totals up to 30 million euro.

1:41:12So ball and getting back to Filar and Baligan. He had agreed to terms. Player had to change your heart and we went through the Y. Ben Chilwell to Crystal Palace joined from Straussburg on a free. Tosan Adoro Biojo joined from Chelsea deals worth up to 12 million pounds including add-ons. Ainsley, Maitlin, Niles went from Everton, joining from Leon 5 million euro on a 3 year deal. Oliver Skip, Charlton working on a late window loan racing against time that was done in yesterday. 125 for Enzo Fernandez no add-ons signing a 5 year deal so on the book sit only registers is 25 million pounds a year. Myron Bauado late to Watford. Middlesburg confirming kosher doobry joining on loan from Brighton that one was important as a part of the ins and outs. Dario Osorio from Crystal Palace once again 26.26 plus 4 with a 2 million option so it's 32 total.

1:42:15Alvin Bard joining leads on a loan from Nice loaned with an option to buy the inflemming it switch all completed 4 year deal north of 12 million. Full of Hugo Larson joining from Frankfurt on a lot of loans in this window 18.3 in the obligation. Jack Grealish once again and pen over paper smiling into the camera pen not touching paper so it's official. Highlamudric joined spurs from Chelsea on loan the deal includes a 75 million pound option to buy 75 million pound. So that's what you were getting as the ones that were kind of chasing after the deadline yesterday in addition to all of the Baligan Camara chaos from yesterday. So Tom Bogart once again getting into today and yesterday because MLS kind of was drifting toward the back with all of the the intel it was attached so here's the update on MLS today we mentioned Morgan Whitaker.

1:43:19We now know that that's 10.7. Ben Wright Nashville loaning midfielder Charles Emil Brunette to Saint Louis city through the 26 season the 80th pick in the super draft seven appearances gets a chance for regular minutes. Midfield depth for Saint Louis and a busy deadline day we're off a Navarro Damien downs joining we get into the specifics in a bit. So the number 20 so the number 80 pick in the 25 super draft goes from Nashville on a loan to Saint Louis city he was not the only Nashville player loaned out. RSL looks to acquire Jason Shukaluk from the Chicago fire this one's a pretty good one. We've seen Jason Shukaluk last year he had the golden boot nimo less next pro 20 goals in 22 matches seven goals in six. This year but has not had a whole lot of minutes with Chicago fire. And so now it looks like Jason Shukaluk's going to RSL.

1:44:19Jared will have continuing reports on Jason Shukaluk. Houston Dynamo finalizing a deal to bring in South African international forward Lyle Foster from Burnley on a loan. Loan till summer so that gets through the sprint season. Seven million dollar purchase options turning 26 tomorrow 10 goals 28 caps for Bafana Bafana. Ten point seven once again the fee Morgan Whitaker from Middlesbrough to Colorado. The window itself for Major League soccer closes tonight one o'clock in the morning ten o'clock Pacific time. So they have until one o'clock to have a deadline but it's flexible in the implementation teams don't have to announce deals by the deadline. They just have to get the paperwork filed and approved you can announce it tomorrow you can announce it you know in 2032 if you want.

1:45:20But you just have to have the paperwork into the league office by one a.m. Eastern time. So this is where you keep an eye on your favorite club. Red Bulls finalizing a deal to acquire David Ruiz from Inter Miami. Jose Armando at the Deportate Total and Claudo Sports was first to mention this one. It's an initial loan Ruiz adds a defensive boost in the midfield 82 appearances for Messy and friends so. David Ruiz in the midfield. Looks like he's heading to Red Bulls. As a part of what's going on LA galaxy finalizing a deal to sign Brazilian defender Lucas Caligati from A.m. Sport was with the galaxy in 23 on loan. Torres ACL at the end of the year complicating a permanent deal now he's back in L.A. So Lucas Caligati heads back to L.A. G. from the Turkish league. Chicago fire yesterday.

1:46:21More in advance talks to sign Noah Allen from Inter Miami says are the least Merlot was the first one to report this. Yesterday the deal was being done. It's not done done. It'd be in the region of 3 million US. And they're still trying to figure out the structure of the deal. So Ruiz out Alan heading out we will have Michelle Kaufman from the Miami herald on tomorrow at 9 30 to break down all of this. And what it looks like heading into this weekend where inter Miami is concerned. So Noah Allen looks like leaving. David Ruiz leaving. What does Inter Miami have in mind here. Bringing in reinforcements. Crew finalizing a deal to sign a San T Rodriguez from both the Fogo.

1:47:22Lord knows they need the money. 26 will be a DP once again remember him from NYCFC the deal would be through 29 30 with a club option for 30 31. So basically it's a 4 plus 1 and the sprint season. 1:48:25Minutes for the rest of the season with the the veriday and black. Camden the US at the U 20 conca cap championships. David Martinez officially joining Mitchell on from L.A.F.C. Sources say the fees in the region of eight and a half million dollars and you've Danish record fee for the 20 year old Venezuelan international. Then you end up with FC Cincinnati finalizing a deal to sign check international Wink back David to Dara from Slavia Prague.
