Seahawks' Draft Mistake: Trey Smith vs. Stone Forsythe

On March 19th, here's the latest surrounding the NFL.

In a hypothetical redo of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks grab guard Tray Smith at

pick-2008 overall, passing on.

Offensive Lyman Stoned Forsyth.

Forsyth stuck around with Seattle from 2021 through 2024 before joining the Las Vegas

Raiders in 2025.

Over 53 games with the Seahawks, he managed just 14 starts.

That choice would have plugged an instant starter into Seattle's offensive line.

Smith earned all rookie honors from the Pro Football Riders Association right out of the

gate that year, fast-forward, and Smith dominated with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning Super

Bowls in 2023 and 2024.

Last year, the 26-year-old inked a 4-year, $94 million contract, the richest ever, for

a guard.

Defensive tackle Kyuris Tango was also on the board at that spot.

The BYU standout, later taken by the Chicago Bears at 250, helped the New England Patriots

reach the AFC Championship in 20.
