Having a player as a restricted free agent usually means it is safe to assume they will be back with the team. Seattle has some tougher decisions to make on this front this offseason. I explain why, and what I expect them to do.

Given the fact that we can't even start the show with sound,
it's the number one COX podcast on the planet for the number one football team on the planet,
your Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
And today, a little bit of a bleary Tuesday in Seattle,
where I was hoping to get out on the golf course.
Maybe I still will, but it's going to be raining all day.
So a little bit of a bummer after a very, very nice weekend.
They're saying you can't hear me on Instagram.
Yeah, well, I think you're behind.
I think that's probably why.
So, yeah, I want to go through a few things related to free agency that may not be obvious,
because they weren't obvious to me.
There's things that I forget.
There's all sorts of different intricacies that I will admit I might even get wrong on the show
today. I've done as much research as I can and, you know, I'm going to share what I found.
But if somebody knows better, please let me know.
And we'll share that with the group.
What I want to focus on is restricted free agency.
And you might think like, oh my god, that sounds boring.
Maybe it is. Maybe you're not interested.
The reason I would tell you to be interested is it could have a massive impact
on what the Seahawks are able to do starting next week in real free agency.
And it also has a potential to impact their needs, depending on who they decide to tender and
who they don't. It's not as simple as I would have thought.
So, I want to share what I found with you guys on that front.
Before we get into that, let's talk about news that already occurred.
So, yesterday, a different classification of free agent is an E-R-F-A, exclusive rights free agent.
The Seahawks tendered two of their E-R-F-A's yesterday.
That was Tio Cotta, the safety, and George Halani, the running back.
This is good news.
Means these guys are going to be back because they've been tendered.
They cannot negotiate with any other team.
Obviously, we expected both of those players to return to the Seahawks.
Anyway, Tio Cotta might be in line to be your starting safety next to Julian Love next year.
And George Halani could be competing for starting reps at running back,
depending on what the Seahawks do this off season.
So, both of those guys are back.
And one of the things that I would offer there is the tender,
I believe, costs about a million dollars.
Why does that matter at all?
Well, because the thing to pay attention to with a tender is,
tenders are essentially a hold on the cap until you have an actual contract in place with that
player. So, when you extend a tender, and in this case a million bucks,
that takes up part of your cap space.
Now, there's all sorts of other rules.
I don't want to get into all the details unless you really want.
Like, for example, the cap is only the top 51 players.
So, a one million dollar cap hit might not even be in the top 51.
All those things aside, this starts to really matter when we get into not
ERFA's, but RFA's restricted free agents,
which is the majority of what I'll talk about here in a bit.
Other bits of news, little bits of news, it was announced today that I believe the Atlanta
Falcons will be in Madrid for a game next year.
That means that the Seahawks will not be in Madrid because they do not play the Falcons next year.
So, that really starts to limit down the potential international games that the Seahawks could play
next year to the commanders game in London and the 49ers game in Mexico City.
I believe those are the last two.
There might be one in Brazil that might make sense.
I'm not sure, but I at least know that the commanders game or the 49ers game.
The other thing that we know is because the Seahawks schedule has the commanders as an away game,
and I believe the 49ers have already been designated as the home team for the Mexico City
game. The Seahawks will not be the home team in any international game this year,
and it could mean, I think it will mean, that the Seahawks will lose a home game next season
to international play. Why? Because teams are required to have at least one home game internationally
over eight seasons, and I think the Seahawks have missed their or hit their maximum,
so the Seahawks will likely, I think not likely, will host essentially a home game next year
internationally. Where that will be? I don't know, but that is something that season ticket holders
can kind of be aware of going into next year.
Now, news coming out, because today is March 3rd, today by one o'clock Pacific time,
all franchise and transition tags need to be applied to free agents. Adam Schaefter is reporting,
as of a minute ago, that sources tell them the Seahawks are not expected to tag Super Bowl MVP
Ken Walker, who's now poised to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year
opens. United Health Group is simplifying health care by investing in tools to help patients

Yes, that's not really news, but it is confirmation of things that we already know.
Interestingly, the Jets went a different direction with their free agent running back. According
to Ian Rappaport, the Jets have franchise tagged Breeze Hall, giving him a one-year deal. They'll
keep working on a contract. Well, what does that mean? Well, it means Breeze Hall is on the cap
for at least $14 million this year until they come up with a new contract. So just like tenders,
franchise tags also eat up your cap space. That is immediately gone when you apply a tag.
If you've done a transition tag, it would have been about $11 million. Franchise tag is 14
for the running back spot. So that eats up $14 million cap space. The Seahawks did not do that with
Ken Walker. And I think I'm looking through to see if there's anything else going on here that
is worth being aware of. But those are the things as of now that have come out. So those are
little bits of news. I'm sure more news might trickle in. Feel free to drop it in chat in case I
miss it. We will talk through it. But I think things continue to trend in the direction of Ken Walker
probably playing somewhere else next season. I'm not thrilled about, but that's just the reality.
So you got to kind of separate your own preferences and emotions from just predicting what is
likely going to happen versus what you want to happen. And in this case, I think it's pretty likely
Ken Walker is going to end up elsewhere. And with Breeze Hall being off the market,
do you want to say Williams signed an extension? Ken Walker is going to be the bell of the ball
for the running back market. And we'll see if teams, you know, back up the Brings truck for him as
I think they probably will. All right. Now one more thing before I kind of get to our FAs.
Yesterday, I went through and talked about how important this week is. This all relates to
to restrictive free agents, by the way. The reason it's an important week is because this is the
week where I think you'll see if there's going to be some blockbuster trades, this is the week
for them. This is when teams can figure out exactly what cap space they're going to have and who
they're going to have on their roster and what their needs are going to be going into free agency.
I think 12 for life coined it pre-agency, which is the perfect name. I'm
shocked at how perfect that name is. Very, very well done. I even mentioned on Brock and
Salkin, they're going to steal pre-agency, I believe. So yes, there could be the Max Crosby trade.
There could be other trades. We've already seen a David Montgomery trade and a Titus Howard trade.
So there's been a number of trades that have already happened. There will be more. And I think
they will likely happen closer to the end of the week once teams have figured out like played
the market to get as much as they possibly can in return for whoever they're trading.
It also is a week where you're going to see the Seahawks potentially try to sign some of their
free agents prior to them hitting unrestricted free agents. We saw that last year with Ernest Jones.
We have seen that happen a number of times with John Schneider where he tries to get their
priority free agent signed before the league year begins. I mentioned yesterday it could be
Rashid Shaheed. It could be Kobe Bryant. A name I did mention that probably goes without saying,
but might be the most likely player for the Seahawks to sign before free agency is Josh Job.
And I think Josh Job is logically a high priority for the team because think about this. If you
sign Josh Job, then you've essentially got your starting secondary. Now you want to add depth.
You want to add more to it. Great. But you've got Josh Job rotated with Requel. And initially in the
season took the starting role away from Requel. And so I don't think the team has any issue with
Josh Job getting all of the reps as a starter. And then you've got Nicki Minaj and Devon Witherspoon
at corner. You've also got Ty Okada and Julian Love. You played a number of games during a super
bowl season with those five players as you're starting secondary. I think the team feels completely
fine with that group as they're starting secondary. And essentially you'd have most of your starting
unit intact with a move of signing Josh Job. So I think it's a matter of whether Josh Job's agent
believes they're going to be able to get you know a bunch in free agency and they want to hit the
market. I think Josh Job would love to stay here. And I think I'm pretty sure the team would
love to keep him. So we'll see that that might be the deal that happens this week. And I think
from a team construction standpoint makes the most sense. So Josh Job is one to keep an eye out on.
And also worth noting with Mr. Job is that he was as far as I understand I was trying to look
back at this last year. He was an RFA last year or the Seahawks. They chose not to tender him.
They signed him prior to the league year. Now that's a little confusing. So let me explain again or
let me explain maybe for the first time how this kind of has to work because
basically you have until the league year begins to apply your tender.
And if you are a restricted free agent or an exclusive right free agent, you have like
exclusive right free agents have a specific tender you're just going to get that tender.
Restricted free agents have a different and more complicated tendering process. So a team can say
you know what I'm going to tender you at a right of first refusal level. That what that means is
you can go out and negotiate with other teams, but I as the Seahawks get a chance to match whatever
they have offered you. So I get right a first refusal to do that cost three and a half million dollars
of cap space. All right. You could also say the original round tender. So let's say you have a
player that was drafted in the first round, that's going to cost a certain amount.
And if you have a player drafted in the fifth round, that would cost a much lower amount.
So you can also for an undrafted player, you can still apply a second round tender or a first
round tender. And I believe, I believe like a second round tender might be like five point eight
million dollars against the cap. And I think a first round tender, well, I'm going to find out
in a second, but I think that's a little bit, a little bit, well, I know it's higher than the
second round tender. So why does all this matter? Well, the Seahawks have a lot of restricted free agents.
The Seahawks, if you're looking at RFA's, they've got Brandon Peely, the nose tackle.
They've got Brady Russell. They're arguably their best special teams player, a special teams captain.
They've got Cody White, a wide receiver. They've got Jake Bobo, a wide receiver.
They've got Drake Thomas. They're starting inside linebacker. Chris Stoll, their long snapper,
and then AJ Finley, a safety who spent the year injured. So that's a long list of RFA's.
That is seven players, okay? The Seahawks have to make decisions on all seven players
before next week about whether they're going to apply a tender, whether they're going to
try to extend them or sign a contract with them, extensions are on term, but sign a contract
with them before free agency or whether they're not going to tender them at all, they become unrestricted
free agents. They can sign with anybody and the Seahawks risk losing them to anybody without any
compensation. There's some pretty important players on that list, and I don't think
after looking at it that it's obvious that the Seahawks are going to tender all of these players.
In fact, last year, as I said with Josh Job, the team avoided the tender by signing early. I don't
know how often you're going to see John Schneider let a guy who's got value, just test the market without
any restrictions, but here's the thing. If you take, let's just say an original round, or let's say
write a first refusal tender to these players, and you do that by to seven players. You say,
I don't want any of these players to sign anywhere else without us getting a chance to match.
That would take up 24 and a half million dollars of your cap space, just like that, and you don't
even have a contract with those players yet. So you're talking about losing a massive chunk of
cap room by applying even just a write a first refusal tender on those players. The first round
tender, by the way, which I don't think the Seahawks have any players they would use, is $8.1 million.
The second round tender is 5.8, as I said, the original round, it looks like it's 3.7,
so write a first refusal is 3.5. I look at this list, folks, and I'm like, there's some guys here
that, I mean, like Drake Thomas, for example, I don't think that you take any risks with Drake
Thomas going anywhere else. That one seems pretty straightforward. Do the Seahawks come to an
agreement with him before free agency? I hope so, but if not, I don't think you can put a write a
first refusal tender on Drake Thomas. I think that he's too valuable. I think that you probably put
a second round tender on Drake Thomas. That costs $5.8 million in cap space. Now, maybe that's wrong.
Maybe they, because he was an undrafted free agent, I believe he was a undrafted free agent.
Maybe he was a seventh round pick. Let me double check. Now, he was an undrafted free agent.
If you put an original round tender, that does no good. It costs more money, and you're not
going to get it. There's no pick to get back. You only put an original round tender when they're
like a fifth round pick, or a sixth round pick, then you'd get one of those picks back.
With Drake Thomas, you basically have to either put a write a first refusal, which allows a team
to put together a contract that could be prohibitive or could contain some claws that you don't
want to match, and you have to let Drake Thomas go. I think that would be a disaster.
So I think that that's realistic that if they don't come to an agreement with Drake Thomas this
week, you could be looking at a second round tender in $5.8 million in cap space gone, right,
until you come to an agreement. Now, it's worth knowing that the Seahawks have in the past,
sometimes put a tender on a player. Like a few years ago, they put a tender on Ryan Neal,
a write a first refusal tender. Well, they then later signed Julian Love in free agency, and they
rescinded that's write a first refusal tender on Ryan Neal, and he became a UFA, an unrestricted
free agent right away. So Drake Thomas, for me, is the one where I'm like, you don't not risk that guy.
Like he is up and coming. I think Pro Bowl level starting linebacker. So second round tender,
if you don't come in agreement, and then you've got I think a really challenging decision here.
Cody White and Jake Bobo are both RFA's. Do you put like Jake Bobo's undrafted Cody White undrafted?
Let me double check that with Cody. Yes, both of them were undrafted.
So you put a write a first refusal tender on those guys. That's $7 million in cap space gone.
If you do that. Now, I have, I would not be shocked if the Seahawks do not sign both of these players
this week, and do not tender one of these players. I think that they would make sense that they would
tender one of them. But I don't know if they're going to tender both of them if they don't come to
an agreement. Could Jake Bobo or Cody White become unrestricted free agents? And the team says,
hey, see what you can find out there. On the Cody White front, it's a challenging topic because
he's 28 years old. So is Jake Bobo, by the way, Cody White has had opportunities started to actually
actually take over some of Jake Bobo's snaps, played well when he's been out there,
was a good special team's player, was hurt, had a hamstring injury to end the season.
He might want to finally get a chance to play like more snaps somewhere else. So maybe
the team lets him test the waters and see if there's a place that
offers him more opportunity to get real snaps. Jake Bobo,
really, really key part of that locker room. Obviously made some really big plays this season.
Great special teams player, great blocker. I think people should realize there's a better
that like there's a real chance that Jake Bobo might become an unrestricted free agent depending
on how the team navigates the rest of this week. So I think that's, I think the Cody White Jake
Bobo one is an interesting one for them to have to decide if it was me. If it was me, this is not
what I'm predicting, this if it was me. United Health Group is simplifying health care by

valuable player, really good in a lot of different ways on special teams in the run game as a big
body receiver in the locker room, beloved to crotch. Like, I just cannot see just letting him walk
for nothing. That that seems that seems tough to me. Cody Whites, he might end up being the better
player. Like, that's why I think that's a challenging call. Maybe they do what I don't think
makes sense and they tender both of them. We'll see. After that, it gets a little bit easier,
but Brandon Peely is a pretty interesting proposition as well. You lost Quentin Bojana
last year. Two waivers when you exposed him and the Packers signed him. The Seahawks don't want
to lose Brandon Peely. They also might not want to place a three and a half million dollar tender
on him. Now, again, these right of first refusal tenders do not guarantee that the players
going to be back. So even if you do place right of first refusal, three and a half million dollars
on Cody White or Jake Bobo or both of them and Brandon Peely, they may get an offer that you don't
want to match. So if you are like wanting to guarantee a player is going to be back, you put a
second round tender on them. And again, 5.8 million bucks. I think Brandon Peely is important enough
that I don't think you non-tender him and just let him test the market. The one argument against
that is those tackles are not valued, like they're just not. And teams, I don't know that teams
are going to jump all over Brandon Peely if he's out there in an unrestricted free agency land.
I wouldn't love, I talked to Justin Hines this off season or like before the Super Bowl,
I should say, the Seahawks defensive line coach, he thinks this is a huge offseason for Brandon Peely
and he's made a big jump already. I think he could make another one this off season. So
those are, I mean, maybe you guys already knew all of that. And you're like, Brian, thanks for
just catching up yourself. To me, like I was going through some different offseason cap scenarios.
And I was like, all right, so we're going to extend JSN. We're going to maybe extend Derrick Hall.
You extend JSN. It's actually going to raise the cap this year because he's such a low price,
but you're going to, his APY is going to be over 40 million. Probably going to cost maybe up
10 to 14 million dollars of cap space this season that you didn't already spend.
So then maybe a million, maybe if you get the Derrick Hall extension, another million or two
added to this this year. And then I'm like walking through some other things and I'm like, all right,
so what if they make this Max Cosby trade? Well, to do that, if they don't restructure the deal,
that's a 30 million dollar cap hit, but maybe they restructure and they save 20 million of that,
I'm kind of like going up through this. And then I bump into these RFAs and I'm like, holy crap,
if I have to make these decisions this week, I'm going to be out of cap space like really quickly.
And then I won't be able to go and do unrestricted free agency with room to maneuver.
So that's why to me, these UFA's are a more challenging decision than I would have given them credit
for beforehand. And again, once you sign that once that once you negotiate an actual contract,
you're most likely getting cap space back. I don't know that any of these guys are going to
command more than three and a half million dollars of your cap space this year. So you will
reclaim that cap space, but if you want to protect them before free agency, you will lose, you know,
that flexibility. So that's why I just wanted to highlight this as a I think challenging situation.
And I guess if I was to like predict what I think the CEOX do, I believe that they will
sign Drake Thomas to a contract before free agency. I believe they will
tender either Jake Bobo or Cody White. If one of them can come to an agreement before this
free agency begins this week, I wouldn't be surprised if the other one is non-tendered
and allowed to test the market. My best guess is that they're going to non-tender Brandon Peely
and let him hit the market. I think that they would love to sign him and have him back.
I think they probably feel like they can get him back even as a UFA. But I just don't know if
John Schneider is going to want to tie up that much room with tenders. And as I looked back at some
prior, like what is John Schneider done in the past? I mean, back in 2021,
Pune Ford was an RFA and people thought he was going to get a second round tender from the CEOX.
But Schneider was able to sign him to a deal before free agency began.
That same year, they did not offer tenders to guard Jordan Simmons or Shikim Griffin.
Other years, I told you about the Ryan Neal thing where they did do a right-of-first refusal
tender. There's 2023. They non-tendered guys like Tanner Mews and Pennyhart,
Tony Jones. These are not guys that were really big parts of the plan, right?
In 2024, the CEOX did apply an original round tender, which was about three million
or Mike Jackson, the cornerback, who was originally a fifth-round pick. So that's an example of an
original round tender where a guy was drafted and you get a fifth-round pick back if they sign
elsewhere. They also applied a right-of-first refusal tender to John Radigan that year.
And then Darryl Taylor was an RFA, but the CEOX came up with an agreement, a contract before
they got to free agency. So he's kind of done different things for different players at different
times. There's not one way that John Schneider attacks it, but this is going to be an interesting one.
Let me see super chats here. Venture TVF says, I found your book randomly at my local Circle K gas
station. I haven't read it yet, but I'm excited to odds of resigning JSN, K9, and Shaheed Big Fan.

it on Amazon if you need to. And you can apparently get it at Circle K, you can get it at some Costco
still, you can get it, target, Barnes and Noble, a bunch of places. So I'm glad you guys are still
find it and enjoying it. Odds of resigning JSN, well, JSN is not a free agent, so he's not going
anywhere. They might extend him. I think they'd like to extend him, but I don't think that's a
priority to get done right away. They could do it now because that would let them know how much
cap space the extension is going to take up. But I bet that they're going to do everything else,
and then look at the witherspoon and JSN extensions to see whether or not they can fit them in this
year, how they want to structure those deals. So I think that'll be more like a June time frame.
It's my guess. I don't know, but that's my guess for when those will happen. As I've said,
I don't think K9's coming back. I think Shaheed could come back, but I think it's going to have
to be the right price. And that's going to probably be more up to Rashid Shaheed than it is going
to be to the sea ox. Dangerous says any trade targets for our first round pick before besides Max
Crosby. I don't think so. I mean, there's always possibilities, but to deal a first round pick,
you've got to be talking about a pretty special talent. That's a blue chip player.
And I just don't know that there's a lot of those that are going to be available and also
good fits for the sea hawks and what they need. People are like, oh, get Miles Garrett.
You're not like Miles Garrett's not going to get traded. And I've seen people say, well, Max Crosby,
he's not a good fit for this locker room. I think that's way, way off. I think Max Crosby's
a great fit for pretty much any locker room. I think that he is, oh, he's injured, maybe.
But people said that about DeMarcus Lawrence. And he was just a pro bowl player.
And DeMarcus Lawrence is older and has a more challenging injury history than Max Crosby.
So I don't know, like you will not see me go out and try to come up with a lot of
trade your first round pick options. I don't think that's generally good business. I don't think
that's a good way to manage your roster. I just happen to think that this particular trade makes
a lot of sense for the sea hawks. Now, whether or not the Raiders agree,
we'll see. And I know that there's a lot of expectation that Crosby's going to go to the
bears or somewhere else. Sure. Like, we'll see. We will see. But I do think there's a chance that
it could happen. All right. So looking at looking at a couple other things here,
one, if you haven't already given the show a like and click subscribe, please do. If you have not
gone to simply Seattle.com and use promo code,

Okay. A couple other things here. So we have a few, we have a few new mock drafts to respond to.
And I'm going to give you a quick response to a couple of those. I also wanted to spend at least
a second on, I looked at some running backs and free agency and I was trying to go through and
figure out if Ken Walker leaves, who, who do I think makes some sense for the sea hawks to go after?
I'll just, I'll just say it wasn't, it wasn't really a fun, it wasn't really a front process.
I will, I will acknowledge that. I didn't love it. So if you look at the list of free agents,
the guy that I personally like the most and I think is a really good fit is Tyler Algier.
Now, he is very similar, very similar to, um,
to Zach Charbonne. And sorry, I'm trying to look, I'm looking at things while I'm talking and he's
not showing up in this list for some reason. I don't, oh, there he is. There he is. Okay. Um, so Tyler
Algier is 26 years old. He is a physical 220 pound running back. He has played primarily in a
zone scheme in Atlanta. He does not have a lot of wear on his tread, so to speak. He is,
is just a, I think he's the player. A lot of people said Tyler Algier is the player, the sea hawks
believes Zach Charbonne is now Zach Charbonne. I think showed people he's every bit the player that
they thought he was for a lot of that season, but Zach Charbonne has got an ACL. I personally believe
a Tyler Algier signing would be good in the sense that I think he really is a guy that could step
into a starting role and carry a lot more of the load than he did. I also think he is a good
complimentary back to guys like valus Jones who's a speed guy. I think you've got
George Halani who's really the well-rounded does everything well. Maybe not any one thing
exceptionally or in an elite fashion, but he does everything well. And if you go into the draft and
you get a guy like Mike Washington, let's say, who's a speed guy who's in, you know, just,
he's not going to be the the break tackle kind of guy. Here's a shift worth noting.

you don't know with Zack Sharman, he basically got surgery maybe a week or two ago.
You don't know if he's going to be back this season. So I don't think you've got another guy
like Algier. Maybe you think Cam Acres is that guy. Because the Seahawks did offer futures
contracts to valus Jones and Cam Acres, I like valus Jones. I think he offers some really
interesting things here. I don't know again if you can go in without adding anybody.
But here's the other thing that I'm just really wondering about with the Seahawks this year,
which is I don't think John Schneider likes this draft. He's been kind of public about that.
That's part of the reason they don't have a lot of picks. I do think they like next year's
draft better. And they're set up potentially to lose a lot of high price free agents.
Ken Walker, Rashid Shaheed, like Kobe Bryant, and going down the list, they could lose some pretty
pricey free agents. Tereq Wollin, if they do, they could be set up for getting some really good
comp picks in next year's draft. I believe comp picks matter for John Schneider for next year more than
they did going into this season when the Seahawks were active and free agents the last year. Now,
I'm not going to go into all the details about how comp picks are calculated.
But essentially, if you have the simplest way to think about it is, if you have more money
going out, people spending more money on your free agents, then you are spending on other people's
free agents, then you are likely to get some sort of compensatory pick, whether a third, fourth,
fifth. I don't know if they do six ground picks, comp picks, but anyway, some around comp picks.
I think they do do six round comps. So the Seahawks are set up right now to benefit from this. If
if they don't sign their own high price free agents from other teams, Al Jir would be likely,
I think he's probably at least an eight million dollar a year back, as an unrestricted free agent,
that would cancel out one of your comp picks. Now, maybe it's worth it anyway.
Travis at TN is another guy that people have talked about for the Seahawks. He's 27 years old. He's
a little bit more of a speed guy, a little bit more well-rounded probably than Tyler Al Jir.
But I happen to think Al Jir is the better back personally, but in any event at TN, it will also be
a spendy free agent. So what do you do in these situations to avoid this comp pick issue? Well,
you look for street free agents. You look for guys that might actually have been cut by other teams.
Street free agents are exactly what I just said. Like Tyree Kill was a cap casualty for the dolphins.
Any team can sign Tyree Kill and it will not count against the comp pick formula. I'm not suggesting
that they sign Tyree Kill. I'm just explaining he's an example of a street free agent.
So I wanted to share with you guys some other street free agents that could be,
maybe these are not names that show up at all, but these are names the Seahawks could sign,
and it wouldn't count against the comp pick formula. For example,
DeAnthony Bell, a safety that played a lot like played for the Seahawks last year, played pretty
well was part of special teams. He was claimed by the Panthers. He is now out there as a street
free agent. You could sign DeAnthony Bell. It would not count against the comp pick formula. Maybe
that's all you need behind Tyokada and Julian Love because you already know who DeAnthony Bell is.
Maybe not, but that's a name to be aware of. Marcus May, another safety who was released by
the Chargers. Now Marcus May is 33 years old. He did play in a Jesse Menter defense. Mike Mcdonald
can decide whether or not he's someone that they'd want to bring in and have as a backup.
Again, would not count against the comp pick formula. Jimmy Ward, who is 35 years old,
was just released by the Texans as a cap casualty. Pretty good player missed this last year with
injury pretty old. So I don't know if you're bringing in 35-year-old Jimmy Ward, but again,
he's an example of the kind of guy you could get as a street free agent. A couple other names here.
I already mentioned Tyree Kill, Trayvon Diggs, Cornerback. He was at one time like the bell of the
ball for the Cowboys, had like 11 interceptions, signed a big expensive deal. Well, he's been cut
and he's available. Now, I don't think he is necessarily the greatest corner, but he is
available and he's out there and the Seahawks have need at corner. So that could be saying,
now I don't think they're going to sign Trayv Flowers, but he's out there as well. Mike Hilton
is another corner. Now, he's primarily been a nickel corner, so I don't think he's necessarily
great, but he's also 32 years old, but he's out there. A couple other names you get into offensive
line. Are you interested in Lloyd Kushnberry, the center? I don't think so, but maybe,
but there are a couple of guards that might be interesting. James Daniels was let go by the
dolphins. He is a guy that could be an interesting fit. If you're looking for a, he's a 29, he's
dead. That was a lot of injuries. 29 year old, right guard. Graham Glasgow was cut by the lions,
another right guard. Now, he's 34, but again, you could sign those guys as depth or as
guys that you think are going to compete for the right guard spot, and it would not impact the
comp pick formula. Now, I don't think that John Schneider is going to be like, everything's about
comp picks, but I do believe it's a factor this year in a way that maybe it was not
last the previous year. That's why I'm bringing up some of these names. Logan Wilson, I don't think
you're going to go and sign an inside linebacker, but Logan Wilson, the linebacker is available
as a street free agent. I don't know if there's anyone else that's worth really mentioning. Antonio
Gibson, the running back, if you like him, you could sign him as another person to add, but I think you
already have those kind of backs available on your roster. I'm looking through the rest of this
list. I mean, unbelievable that Mercedes Lewis played last year at 41 years old. I don't know
that there's anyone else that to me qualifies as even really worth mentioning, but I just wanted to
bring up those guys as some examples. All right, so let's do a couple quick reactions to some mock
drafts. Then we'll call it for today. There's always more fun stuff to talk about, but let's do that.
There's a couple mock drafts, post-combine mock drafts, and I think this was one, let me see if
this is the one by Nate Tyson. No, no, let's do the... Let's do Jordan Reads. Let's do Jordan
Reads. So he did a two round mock, and this was... I'm not going to go through all the names ahead
of the Seahawks. I will let you know who the different NFC West teams are slated to, so he gives the
Rams Kenyan Sadeek, the tight end at 13, which by the way is a round where I think he should go. I
don't know why all the mocks have him at like 29. I think he's the top 15 talent, especially in
this draft, but what do I know? So they have Kenyan Sadeek going to the Rams. That would be
on brand for team that values the tight end. They've got a lot of tight ends. I think they could
be seeing Tyler Higby leave Addins Sadeek to already Colby Parkinson and Terence Ferguson. They
could feel very, very good about what he brings to that room. Continuing on, he has got Spencer
Fano, the offensive tackle maybe guard, going to the Panthers at 19. That's increasingly a guy.
I'm kind of curious about just how far he'll slide based off his third percentile arm length,
but I think he's a very good player, and if he's going to be potentially a guard for you,
I'm even more interested. He's got Avian Torello going to the Cowboys at 20.
He has got, here we get to finally the 49ers at 27. He has KC Concepcion going to the 49ers,
which I think can make some sense. He has got interestingly the Cardinals trading
back into the first round with the Texans at 28 to get a quarterback, Ty Simpson from Alabama.
So if Ty Simpson is going to be at the end of the first round, the Seahawks might be a team that
benefits from that in terms of trade backs. With the 29th pick, he has the Rams taking Jermad
McCoy, the cornerback from Tennessee. I think the reason that McCoy last this long is because he's,
he had an ACL injury in January of 2025. So he did not do any testing. I think there's
some stuff there that is questionable, but you're getting what is a potentially high talent corner
to go with Sadeek as their tight end. Interesting. He's got Emmanuel McNeil Warren,
the safety from Toleta going to the Broncos at 30. He has got Colton Hood, a popular pick,
the cornerback going to the Seahawks at 32. Makes sense to me, I still think Josh Job is a guy
that they're going to resign. I think that's likely, I don't know for sure. If that's true,
do they go corner with the first round pick as well? Could be, but I think maybe they go a
different direction. Brandon Cise, the cornerback from South Carolina whose friends with Nicki
and Worry goes right after the Seahawks pick at 33 to the Jets. So he would be in the mix there as well.
He has Denzel Boston from University of Washington going to the Titans at 35. Boston's another name
that I think is an interesting fit for the Seahawks at 32. I think this is kind of the big
bodied receiver that the Seahawks has a little bit more athleticism than some of the other guys
that the Seahawks have. So I think he's an interesting fit for Seattle. Going on down the list,
he's got Zion Young all the way down at 45 to the Ravens, which is interesting.
He has got Jadarian Price to running back going at 50 to the Lions. He has got Kianta Scott,
the corner, who some people like for the Seahawks. I think he's more of a nickel guy to the Steelers at 53.
He then, he has a key Wheatley, the safety that I've been drafting later all the way up at 57
in the second round to the Bears. He's got Caleb Tiernan, the offensive tackle going the 49ers at 58.
He's got, oh gosh, I don't like this at all. He's got DeAngelo Ponds going to the Rams at 61.
I would not be happy to see Ponds go to either of the, to any of really the NFC West teams, other
than the Seahawks. I really like Ponds. I know he's 58. He's under 59. I just, I think he's a
dog. I think he's a great ball player. People were worried about Upton Stout's height. He is a dog
last year as well. Upton Stout's a little thicker than DeAngelo Ponds, but I think Ponds is a better
player quite honestly. So I don't like that. He's got Malachi Field, the wide receiver I've talked
about, the big extra seaver going to the Broncos at 62. And then he's got Mike Washington,
Jr., the running back, going to the Seahawks at 64. I think that makes some sense. I do. I don't
think that's crazy. And if you come out with Colton Hood and Mike Washington as your two first
picks, the Seahawks could do worse. I don't love it still. Like I still don't feel like you're,
you're just nailing it. But it makes some sense that those would be players that the Seahawks would
take. I think the Rams walking away with Cedique and McCoy and Ponds would be a nightmare. I don't
want that to happen. And look, I think that part of what people miss on the Max Crosby justification
that's in my head is you were not, you were not that close. Sorry, you were, you were very close to that
Rams team last year. You did not have a big margin for error. And part of the reason there was not
a lot of margin for errors, you could not get pressure on Matt Stafford in a lot of these games.
And I think that the Rams have some vulnerabilities more on the outside than they do on the end.
And you just didn't have an edge rush that could win 1v1. So I think Max Crosby is a guy that
changes the calculus with the Rams more than any other move that you could make. And I think that's
worth giving up quite a bit to get it because I still think the Rams are your chief competition going
into next season, not just in the division, but across the NFC. So that's kind of a quick pass
through here. I'm looking through to see other news. If there's anything I've missed,
looks like Jeremy Fowler knew that I was doing this show today, decided to share some news.
So he is saying that
Jake Bobo will not be tendered. So as I was just talking about, like
so Jake Bobo said to become an unrestricted reagent.
This could mean that Cody Whites that they're trying to get a deal done with him. And
it could make some sense because he had already hopped Jake Bobo in the death chart before he got
injured. So the Seahawks may have made their decision. And I feel like if Jake Bobo is going to be a
UFA, an unrestricted free agent, I think he's gone. I think that he's going to want to go some place
where he's going to be able to catch targets as a receiver. I wouldn't be surprised if the
Raiders and Clint Kubiak was like, yes, I want Jake Bobo here. Like he won't be super expensive.
He's a good blocker. He's a good player. He's a great locker room guy. He's a good special team's
player. He's going to have value out there. He's got a good rep. He's got a rep that goes beyond his
numbers as well. So it sure sounds like Jake Bobo might have played his last game for the Seahawks,
which is as a bummer. It's a bummer, but something worth knowing. So I think that will probably do it
for this episode of Hawk Vlogger Mornings. We went through a few different things. I will edit out
the no sound beginning, and I'll try to make sure from now on that I test my sound before every
single show, I guess, although I admit I'm not going to remember to do that every time.
All right, let me see. I think there might be another...
Is this a new one? I think this is a new one. Santiago says, if K9 walks and we find that the
valuable running backs just won't do, then would you be willing to make any trade for a running
back or draft price, generic price probably. Yeah, I mean, I think you can't go into this draft saying
you need to find a starting running back. You just can't. You don't have the you're not in the
drafting position to guarantee one. It's not a great draft for running backs. So I do think the
team starts to scavenge a little bit, see if there's a player that they like that they can get.
Either I think trade would be a very possible thing that they'd look at. I haven't scavenged
people's cap spaces enough to know where they're going to have an overload at running back.
It also may they might wait until free agencies first wave or second wave finishes and other
teams sign some of these running backs, and then you know where they've got maybe additional
players that could be traded for. We'll see. But no, I don't think...
I don't think that you go into this draft without having added anyone to the running back room.
Now, the C.OX might feel like Kamikers and Vailess Jones and George Halani and Jakarta A. Wright
is enough. I'm uncomfortable with that. Now again, I was uncomfortable with the inside linebacker
room last year going all the way into the season, and I was wrong. Inside linebacker room was a
strength of this roster, not a weakness. A lot of other people were wrong too, but I was wrong.
So I like I like some of those running backs, in particular Jones and Halani. I also like Jakarta
A. Wright. I'm not as big on Kamikers. He's a nice guy. Nothing against him. I don't see the upside
as much there. But I think it makes sense for them to add someone in free agency or via trade.
Now, if you add via trade, then it doesn't affect the compact formula. So that's part of the bonus
there. All right. I appreciate everybody who's tuned in. If you haven't given the show,
