Seahawks Lock in Stars for Next Season

The Seattle Seahawks just locked in two stars from the Super Bowl Championship team through

at least the 2027 season.

They picked up the fifth year options on wide receiver Jackson Smith and Jigba for $23.9

million and cornerback Devon Witherspoon for $21.2 million.

Smith and Jigba has been a standout since the Seahawks drafted him in the first round back

in 2023.

He earned back-to-back Pro Bowl nods, topped the league in receiving yards last season,

and snagged offensive player of the year honors while helping.

The team grabbed the top NFC seed.

Witherspoon, taken fifth overall that same draft year, has also shown brightly on defense.

The 25-year-old made the Pro Bowl every season, earned second team all pro last year despite

knee troubles, and anchored a secondary that, ranked 10th against the pass.

These decisions come as no shot given their impact on Seattle's elite scoring defense,

which allowed just 17.2 points per game, and their big plays in the playoffs culminating

in a Super Bowl win over New England.

With both players still young and improving, the Seahawks are primed to chase another title

next year.
