Seahawks Safety Crisis Ahead | NFL News
About this episode
Seattle’s defense is in serious trouble heading into the opener, with two starting safeties sidelined and only Julian Love healthy at the position. Ty Okada’s hamstring and Nick Emmanwori’s ankle keep the Seahawks’ secondary thin, while the practice squad offers some hope. On offense, Anthony Bradford’s return is a bright spot, but Tory Horton’s hamstring keeps him out for the opener. Meanwhile, the Patriots’ injury list includes key players like Ben Brown and TreVeyon Henderson, but Christian Barmore’s return adds a dangerous edge — making Seattle’s offensive line’s task even tougher.

It's September 7th. Welcome in. This is NFL News Today, where the league meets AI. I'm Cory with the story. Yo, let's talk about the Seattle Seahawks injury situation, heading into their opener against the Patriots. It's looking a little dicey, especially at safety. Ty Okada is out with a hamstring, and Nick Mnwari is limited with an ankle. That's a big deal when you consider Bud Quark, is already on injured reserve. Julian Love is pretty much the only healthy safety left on the active roster right now. This whole safety situation is concerning, especially with Mnwari's status still up in the air for Wednesday. With Okada missing another practice, it's definitely raising eyebrows. The team does have four safeties on their practice squad though, so they've got some backup options if needed. We'll find out more when they release their game designations tomorrow. On the offensive side, Anthony Bradford is looking good, going from limited to a full participant after his knee issue. White receiver Tory Horton is still dealing with that hamstring injury though.
He's been sideline for a while, missing a good chunk of the offseason and training camp. While he's back practicing, it doesn't sound like he'll be ready for the opener. Meanwhile, over on the Patriot side, they've got some injury news too. Sinner Bin Brown is out with a knee, and running back Trivay on Henderson is still not practicing due to an ankle injury. He hasn't seen the field since August 24th, so he's likely out. But here's a twist, their star defensive tackle, Christian Barmore, is back to full practice after a knee issue. So, even with some guys banged up, Seattle's offensive line is still going to have a serious challenge to face in the trenches.
