Sean Payton: No NFL Players on Team USA Olympic Flag Football

On March 31, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton just dropped a bold take on Flag Football

after coaching in a recent event.

He predicts zero NFL players will make the team USA roster for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Payton says he would be shocked if even one current pro cracks that squad.

Earlier this month at the fanatics Flag Football Classic, Payton led a team with stars like

Tom Brady, but they got smoked by Team USA in Round Robyn.

Team USA dominated over three games against NFL players and celebs, not even letting Payton's

crew reach the finals. Payton explained, it takes NFL guys a full month or two to adjust the

Flag rules and that time clashes with their regular training grind. He sees it as a win for

international growth and especially women's Flag Football, opening real paths for them to compete

at high levels. Meanwhile, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. turned heads with his play,

impressing Team USA coach Jorge Cascudo, enough to say there might be a spot.

For him if he wants it, NFL stars eyeing Olympic gold still face a steep learning curve in Flag,

but events like this are lighting the way forward.
