“Caught or Convicted?” challenges us to examine whether we’re truly repentant or just upset about consequences. God’s correction isn’t cruelty—it’s an invitation to turn back, learn, and grow under His grace.

Hey there everybody, I'm Jordan Hansen, host of Daybreak Devotions, Simple Truths for
Complicated Times.
Sometimes, my children tend to get emotional when I'm disciplining them for disobeying me.
I have to explain to them that they don't get to be upset about getting in trouble because
they already had been warned about their actions.
Being sad about being caught is not the same thing as repenting for having done wrong.
The Bible says in Lamentations 3 39 through 40, then why should we, near humans, complain
when we're punished for our sins?
Instead, let us test and examine our ways, let us turn back to the Lord.
I have to explain to my children that they wouldn't get in trouble if they followed
instructions in the first place.
We were once the same with the Lord.
We wouldn't have had to complain about being punished for our sins.
Thank God we live under His grace these days.
Now we can learn and adjust and follow His directions going forward.
We can all learn just like little children.
And remember, God's not the problem.
This is the answer.
