Hey there everybody, I'm Jordan Hansen, host of Daybreak Devotions, Simple Truths for
I know I've definitely spoken about today's devotional topic before, so I'm convinced
it's fairly important.
That being said, parents, listen up.
As a Christian, if you've made the decision to bring life into this world and you want
your children to know the Lord as well, you must take part in their spiritual upbringing.
You cannot rely solely on the church to do it for you.
I'll never understand how some of the biggest names in the Bible have children that turn
out to be just the worst.
I don't know anything about their parenting techniques, but if the world can get a hold
of the children of such great and godly leaders, then it can certainly happen to you and yours.
The Bible says in 1 Samuel 8-1-3, as Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons to be judges
Joel and Abija, his oldest son, held court in Bershiba, but they were not like their father,
they were greedy for money, they accepted bribes and perverted justice.
There are more than a few examples in the Bible of godly and appointed leaders having children
that turned out less than stellar.
I cannot stress this enough to the parents that are listening young and old.
You are never done parenting your children.
You need to take a pointed interest in their lives as children and young adults, even
when they are grown and out of the house and have families of their own.
You should always be pointing them to the Lord.
You need to be intentional with making God a priority in their lives.
In my humble opinion, there is no greater calling as a parent than to ensure your legacy
is that of humble service and devotion to God alone.
And remember, God is not the problem.
Hey folks, thanks for listening in.
We hope you enjoyed today's episode and if you are ready for a breakthrough, join us
again tomorrow for another daybreak devotion.
