Season 3 Ep.93 What Are You Really Giving Up?

Hey there everybody, I'm Jordan Hansen, host of Daybreak Devotions, Simple Truths for

Complicated Times.

As an excuse for not getting right with God, some folks will complain about the things

that they would have to give up to become a Christian.

All the worldly pleasures that they think are fulfilling can't compare to the sacrifices

Jesus made just to be with them.

The Bible says in Philippians 2, 7-8, instead he gave up his divine privileges.

He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's

death on a cross.

Jesus gave up the perfect presence of God Almighty.

He gave up peace and love and joy, all to become human and all its frailties.

He did it because he loves you.

He loves you so much despite your unworthiness.

He sacrificed everything just for the chance to be with you.

Remember that on this good Friday heading into Easter weekend.

And remember, God's not the problem.

He's the answer.
