But it's before the season starts, the teams quite honestly,

management and coaching staffs of the teams are more concerned with their individual teams

than the USA and the WBC if it comes down to their guy.

And that's what it came down to with Mason Miller.

Now, again, we didn't hit the ball, but Venezuela,

they had no problem throwing their clothes.

There are two nights in a row.

You know, again, I think it just meant more to them.

Interesting that they would defer to the Padres, their dads.

That's well-in-dads.

You know, so I get it because then it's a week of just absolutely star-studded baseball.

But now here's also the thing.

Remember, you're coming out of that baseball weekend.

You're, you know, through part of the season at this point.

It's not the beginning of the season.

You got players who are playing.

Would you have players playing on the WBC USA team,

also in the all-star game, also in the home run derby?

I mean, how much would they be asked to do?

Because you love the stars in the home run derby.

What if some of those guys were playing in the WBC?

And like, well, I'm not going to go in the home run derby

if I'm playing in the WBC.

And if I'm playing in the WBC, am I also playing in the all-star game?

And if I'm playing in the all-star game,

am I playing and or pitching the next day in the WBC final?

It's a lot of baseball.

And already we saw how players were sometimes used,

sometimes not used.

And this is going into a season.

How about you try and use these guys

during that week of all these different events

and then you're going into the continuation of the season?

I know it sounds good,

but I think there'd be some unintended consequences of it.

Yeah, and one of those unintended consequences

under the radar, think of how spicy would make the trade deadline.

You put a bunch of those guys on different teams together,

had them competing with each other and all of a sudden,

you know what, I kind of want to go play with that guy.

Yeah, we'll talk it.

That's a way to throw a wrench into it all, my God.

Mike, I don't mind the club putting restrictions

on certain players.

He said Miller would have came into the game

if they had a lead last night.

Right, right.

They were down around going into the,

going into the ninth.

So I don't mind that.

It's like Mark Cuban saying,

he doesn't want his players playing in the Olympics.

I'm paying them their salaries.

I want them healthy and playing for me, you know?

Yeah, I love the Olympics.

I think every, you know,

the league should let the teams play in the Olympics hell.

The NFL is talking about letting at least one player

per team play on the flag football in the Olympics.

So, but I get it from the owner side.

Listen, they're paying out millions and millions to hundreds

of millions of dollars in salaries.

So I mean, there's part of me that understands it.

And real quick back on Mason Miller,

if they were winning,

he were to put Mason Miller in to close the game out.

What if they were tied and he put Mason Miller in

just to throw one inning?

He'd have thrown the same one inning.

If you're just going to pitch him one inning,

he'd have thrown the same one inning.

Now, if it went to extras, you pull them out and you say,

okay, we took our chance with them.

But one inning is one inning.

If you were going to use them,

if you were winning, I don't understand why you didn't use them

for one inning when it's tied.

Right, if that's the restriction one inning,

just pitch him one inning.

It doesn't matter if you're hitting your pitch him,

what the scenario is, what situation we're in.

Yes, I understand what you're saying.

But I also do understand like,

you think Andy Reed really wants Patrick Mahomes competing

in the Olympics as a flag football quarterback.

I do find it interesting that Mel's latest mock draft

came out.

He has your boy, Jeremiah Love going forth to the Titans.

I mean, it's a running bad going forth, Mike.

Well, I mean, I had either thought it was good.

It's got to be that they picked up a lot of defensive players

in free agency.

So they need to help Cam Ward.

So I had thought I had originally mocked Jeremiah Love

to like New Orleans at 8 or Kansas City at 9.

But they both picked up running backs.

Washington picked up a running back at 7.

So you're starting to run out of spots.

But then you see Tennessee at 4.

I think it was either Jeremiah Love or Carnell Tate,

the wide receiver from Ohio State.

A guy who's a three-level receiver can take the short route

and go to the distance, middle routes, and deep routes.

So he's not a blazing speed guy.

He's got height, though, for a 50-50 ball.

But Jeremiah Love, I mean, listen, he's cut out of the mold

of Bajan Robinson and how he plays with carrying the ball.

And also catching the ball out of the backfield.

That's obviously why a guy like Bajan Robinson

has gone in the first round.

And he's going to be the highest paid wide receiver time.

Kind of out of the sea out of the Christian McCaffrey fold.

But these guys are bigger than McCaffrey and how big he is.

But out of that mold of being the dual threat running back

that these are, you have to be.

You can't just be a runner anymore.

Jeremiah Love, you can split out in a slot.

You can split out a wide receiver.

He can be a mismatch for you in the receiving game.

He's a great running back.

So I could definitely see him going forward to 10 and see.

Did you hear that correctly?

Mike, did you do a mock?

I left his head as well.

Or did you do a mock?

Well, Mike and I, my son and I did a mock top 10

where we traded off picks.

I had one, he had two, I had three.

So basically I did five picks in the first 10 picks.

So now I, that was maybe a little overstatement by my part,

saying I did a mock draft.

As a player and as a person, Jeremiah Love,

he seems too good to be true.

But you have, you have an intimate knowledge and relationship

of the person and the player.

Is he that good of a player and is he that good of a person?

He is both.

I mean, his parents are great.

The kid is great.

He's a great, not only a great player,

but a great teammate as well.

I mean, split in time with Jadaria and Price,

who may go in the first round as well.

The backup and I do that with quote fingers.

This guy is going to be a starter in the NFL.

Price, a great kick returner as well.

Yeah, he is everything that you read about him.

As far as on the field, I mean, the dude can jump over you.

He can, he can stutter step you.

He can spin on you.

He can catch a ball out of the backfield.

He can do everything.

He is going to be a star.

I mean, that's why you know,

and where you go into drafting,

where you rated in the draft class,

there are two different things.

And he's basically the top prospect in this draft.

Mike, I saw a stat from Sharp football analysis.

Jeremiah Love faced the lowest rate of light boxes

in this draft class last season.

When he did face a box with six or fewer defenders,

he averaged 9.1 yards per carry.

Jesus.

The most in the country.

Well, I mean, yeah, I mean,

when you're playing Notre Dame and they have the top two,

they have the best running back tandem in the country

and the two best draft prospects.

If you don't play with a morph of a loaded box,

you're foolish.

So then when you are in a light box,

you know he's going to destroy you.

And even in a loaded block box, he does well.

And you have to give credit to the old line as well.

But he is, he is fantastic at making you miss a tackle.

Mike, I love the trade yesterday between the dolphins

and the Broncos.

The Broncos inside a Super Bowl window.

They have the rookie.

They have the quarterback on a rookie contract.

They needed a wide receiver.

They get Jalen Waddle.

The dolphins in exchange who are completely rebuilding

and poor Malik Willis.

He has no wide receivers to throw the ball to.

Perhaps they'll change that moving forward here.

But for the dolphins, they get a first round pick

and a third round pick.

That's a good trade.

Both sides, I thought, Mike.

Well, I mean, that's what the cheat you try to achieve.

Both sides winning and now Denver adds another prize

possession to the wide receiver core.

They're deep at wide receiver.

Kind of like the Packers have been,

though the Packers have dealt with injuries.

But they are deep at that position.

And for the dolphins, I mean, they're basically saying,

listen, we're in rebuild mode.

They have seven picks in the first three rounds.

That's tied for the most ever since the draft.

I think started in 67.

So, I mean, they understand we're going to build assets

to either make the picks or use them as trades

to get established players.

But they're basically getting rid of all their established players.

You know, Jalen Phillips has gone,

two has gone, make a Fitzpatrick has gone.

They said, H&N, they're going to keep, though.

They said he's not going to be traded.

He's got to be going, why the hell you keeping me here?

You know, why can't I go somewhere else?

And then it seemed kind of odd to sign Malik Willis

and basically give him no team around him.

The only thing I can think is,

you can decide if he's your quarterback of the future.

It's not a monster big starting quarterback salary

that you have to pay.

So, if you don't think he's the answer

and you have a high pick next year,

you can draft a potentially your future quarterback next year.

Yeah. Max Crosby picked a good time to start a new podcast.

Yeah.

I love that athletes can do this.

Something good or bad happens to him.

So, I didn't get to meet with him to the end of the day.

I didn't get to see the GM at all.

I thought I was going to see him when I first got there.

I didn't see him for five hours.

And I don't know why.

At the end, they're like, yeah, I'll take you up.

Joe was like, I'll take you up and you go see the head coach

whatever just before you leave.

I went back up.

I'd dab him up.

And then you just tell like, the energy was a little bit off.

And the GM was standing like the hall

like in the room next to me to the right.

And that was the first time I seen him.

And you know, I'm just in my head.

Like, I'm just, this is a whirlwind.

Like, I'm so excited, like fired up.

You know what I mean?

Like, this is a new opportunity, whatever.

And you just tell the energy was off.

Like, I dabed him up.

He had like a blank face.

And I'm like, okay, I'm not thinking anything of it.

Maybe it's just different.

I don't know.

I don't know him, whatever.

I go into the room.

They sit me down on the couch and he's like, man,

I don't know how to say this.

But, you know, one of our doctors has concerns

with the results and whatever.

Like, with your knee, like some of them have,

you know, are concerned about the future.

And da, da, da, da, da.

And I mean, we really want you.

And this is what it is, but, you know,

we're just going to have to get more and more opinions.

Wow.

I know business grows sometimes.

That just feels wrong.

All of it just feels like poor Max Brozby.

Well, I mean, I mean, well, I'm not going to say

poor Max Crosby.

He's still going to make out just fine.

But it does seem odd in this day and age

that you're not met by the head coach or the GM.

And the meeting, even before the physical starts off

a little more positive.

And up, beating that if you get like Baltimore says,

they got bad news from the physical.

And then obviously, as Max said,

it felt like the air was left out of the room,

which obviously it was.

And again, well, we ever believe what Baltimore said

that the cost of said we were.

I would, nobody was more crushed than me.

That it didn't work out.

I mean, yeah, gutted.

Obviously, it was about the future,

not about this year because they knew

he was just coming off crutches.

They knew that he wasn't in a way to pass a physical,

just like Daniel Jones wasn't in any way

to pass a physical for the coach,

yet they resigned him for 44 million years, right?

You can, you can pass or fail a player on a physical

however you want to.

You control that.

And they had concerns about his future where I think

most of us believe they had concerns about the price tag.

I think that that eventually got to them

and they got cold feet.

Taylor, put it in the poll.

Can you say poor Max Crosby when he's making

$35.5 million per season?

I can't feel badly for him.

Mike, if, if Trey Hendrixen signs with the Colts

for $40 million, Max Crosby passes that physical, right?

Yes.

Okay, now, now, the reason he couldn't see the GM

and the head coach is because they were on the phone,

which right Hendrixen?

They were getting that deal done,

but I also felt that they felt two number ones was too steep.

And so even if they didn't get Trey Hendrixen,

it would have been interesting if they would have carried that out

and gave up the two number one picks.

Even though their number one picks are normally

later in the draft because they're, they're a pretty good team.

But, but that would have made it more of an interesting

situation, but yes, the proximity of how quickly

they signed Hendrixen was interesting.

I mean, and we all know, like, when you're going in for a dab

and you're expecting someone to be excited

and they're a little less excited than it supposed to be,

you know something's up right away.

It's an uh-oh moment.

Yeah, definitely an uh-oh moment.
