Sugar spy and everything that these were the ingredients chosen to create the Grace Curly show
Radio TV print Grace Curly does it all
I'm waiting for the door from my Pulitzer. She's just the worst. Yeah
She's a wacko. She is. She is the devil. I'm in hell.
Now here's the millennial with the Mike. He still leaves me both breathless and speechless.
I love her. I love her. She is the best.
Somebody will ask you to say Grace. Grace Curly.
Welcome back everyone to the Grace Curly show. It is 105 on a Friday. You know what that means.
The most talented people and this man may be the most of all Michael Crawford.
Every time I have my Crawford on people remind me that he's not a Trump fan.
But that sound proves the Trump is a fan of you Mike. Let's get to some of the news this week.
Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant. This is from Boston.com was suspended Wednesday.
The same day he was named in an investigative report released by the Middlesex District Attorney's
Office. Big week in this quickly case and this investigation. Give us an update on this and why
everyone should be following these reports. Well apparently this lieutenant told the Middlesex
D.A. Security Director to take information about the subject crashed to the grave.
I mean so that's like pretty damning. It's damning. It's more scandal. It's like the beauty of
this one is names are getting put out there like people are being you see who who is in on this
and what's interesting on this and just like probably some of the other stories we might talk
about today is you know police officers are telling on each other a lot of respects in these
situations it looks like. So we're we're seeing names and people are getting in trouble and
this scandal is big. It's just it's wild how it ties into Enrique Delgado Garcia with Jennifer
Penton too. So you know this is a big scandal quickly. Yeah and the D.A.'s investigation center
centered around Sergeant Scott Quigley. I know how he wrote about him. Today he's been writing about
him a lot over the last few weeks but for anyone who's just tuning into this Mike and they're just
you know maybe they they finished following the Kelsey Fitzsimmons story which I know there's some
updates on that or they finished following the Karen Reed story and they're not as familiar with
Quigley. Can you just walk us through just like a quick refresh for anyone who's finding out now
about this other lieutenant and isn't sure really what it connects to. Well this Quigley guy
O.U.I. you know he he's definitely over the limit. He's a state police officer.
It's his fault that this person you know it's a horrible you know drunk driving is incident and then
they cover it up and they cover it up and he kept his job and it's they have them all they have it
you know they have they're proving it right now and it's just a big scandal it's even worse than
Michael Proctor in my opinion. Really? Yeah I mean you look at the facts of this you know this
accident and there's the victim of it so you know Quigley they cover that up they cover that up
one of their guys like this is what they do this is the the problem in the mass state police they
cover up for their people when they do a horrific you know drunk driving you know so that that's
what it's about it's about this you know crash and and then they cover it up and now it's coming
out in a low a low murder trial and these guys might get off who knows because this Quigley guy
is the investigator so it's like a proctor situation but it's even worse. Yeah and the state police
didn't return a request for comment to Boston.com on Thursday night but my question for you Mike is
since this entire saga has unfolded from the beginning what have you made of their response or
their attempt to kind of get ahead of this do you think it's an adequate like what if you were
advising the mass state police who already are you know there's several black eyes here for the
mass state police on so many fronts going back to Karen Reed and other stories what do you make of
their reaction to this and the way that they're trying to get control of this narrative.
It's not good they should have a task force now so if you press conference and
talk to bottom bring in national experts I don't know who it is you know you got Todd McGee who's
I think really good he's on NBC boss and he comes on a lot of our YouTube shows you know and I
there's people out there like him you know like Larry Smith's another guy that I like
for mass state police so there are people like that could help them investigate this you know
with their best interest and really get to the root of it to stop this kind of stuff from
happening and get public trust back I see none of that happened at the mass state police it's
you know they put out their little PR videos that's about it they're not doing anything
and do you think they're Mike in the minds of the mass state police it's kind of like well what's
going to what can people do anyway like do they still have that untouchable sense to what they're
doing or do you think they are nervous about I mean it's just one after the other after the other
it's all chipping away at any credibility they have left and is there in your opinion would there
be a panic there at this point that we just can't afford any more of these scandals or do they
really not care and they don't think it's gonna affect them long term it's funny I think it's
politics it's whether it affects Mara Healy yeah that's really what it comes down to if it affects
Mara Healy and I think like I don't think she's as popular she thinks she is you know like her whole
thing against Trump maybe works here for a lot of people even myself like you know people say I'm
a liberal what what not I'm more than independent I think a lot of people mass chooses are basically
independence and this stuff doesn't help her this doesn't make me like her so if it if it starts to
eat into her votes maybe maybe something happens maybe that's when the mass state police get nervous
I think they're totally aware I think they're in panic mode but bottom line does it affect them it's
about Mara Healy will this hurt her at all and and you know it might because it looks like some of
these Republicans are doing pretty well actually so I don't know like you know there's a couple good
campaigns I don't really follow them that closely I don't know all the details of them but it seems
like they're doing pretty well on the campaign trail all right now you had mentioned earlier
this story of the state police recruit who died after a boxing exercise in 2024 yesterday
prosecutors provided more details on this I know you have a very strong opinions about what happened
here so fill us in and and give us your take on what we know so far well this is tragic and I have
to say I want to give a shout out to two youtubers Sean McDonough uh former DEA and LTL media because
they got a lot of this story right including like even posting a picture of one of the you know
people that's been charged like months ago Sean did an LTL especially to support the family
and to get the facts correct LTL is all about making sure the facts are correct on the story
for that family and so I want to shout them out because youtubers a lot of times get a lot of
crap and those two guys did a good job on this so far and the big thing on this is it's tragic
and I was a wrestler in high school college USA wrestler and a coach and I had great coaches and
I think everybody in combat sports especially coaches you do good matchups who make sure that
people aren't going to get hurt especially your athletes especially in practice especially
in sparring especially when there's new people and experience people and experience people
trump uh inexperienced person every day of the week anytime so it takes a while for someone to
get a little bit of experience and whether it's boxing wrestling MMA jujitsu you know Taekwondo
whatever it may be judo you know it's all pretty much similar and boxing I think is could be the
most dangerous for someone who's inexperienced because of the head blows because you're punching
somebody in the face let's be real and a lot of head injuries in these sports I've had in my
self and um you have to take a tail off or a week or a month depending on a head injury
and the fact that they didn't care about the matchups and the fact that uh he got hurt the day before
and they still put him back in and the details are coming out and you can see it again it's
cop against cop like the the top guy is ratting out his subordinates and that's what this
probably case is going to be about who do you believe was at fault in this um and it's tragic
I feel bad even for the instructors I felt bad for Jennifer Penton Ciener there even though I think
she's culpable you know and uh I just just need to stop like you need to maybe we need body
cams on these instructors because that shouldn't be you know on most teams and sports you make you
want a good matchup and if there isn't someone to match up against the top athlete and the team
you a coach usually does it like they have I want to be like they had a pro boxer there why didn't
he step in against this guy and match up against them that's what I don't get you know why you
put an inexperienced guy against a beast of a boxer yeah and just just just to your point mic some
of the details of this are stomach turning I mean they allowed him to fight this trainee with
more boxing experience it led to multiple blunt force injuries to the head and massive brain bleeding
that caused his death he had complained about memory loss about headaches and he had actually
missed the day after those exercises had occurred and so it's just I I think sometimes you have
to really read into exactly what happened to understand just how needless this was like this
didn't have to happen and you shouldn't have to die you shouldn't have to die to be in the mass
state police you shouldn't have to risk dying and then that's what they did to him and when I was
a bridge about a state college I had a concussion I wanted to wrestle the next day they held me out
that was the early 1990s we've come a long way since then yeah you know it was surprising me
I held me out and they did hold me out like the train him made sure they wouldn't let me wrestle
for two weeks or a month or whatever it was I can't even remember but they held me out and
2026 we know what this is about when some we know when you're concussion yeah especially if an athlete
says they're having these issues you hold them out you you do the tap you don't mess around with
head injuries yeah and there's a test on it like that's the thing my trainer diagnosed me he did
the test on me you know there's a test it's you can prove whether someone's can cost this this
story managed just crazy my Crawford from the young jerks follow him on social media follow him
on YouTube you just heard him shouting out youtubers he's also a youtuber and that's where you can
follow a lot of these different cases that are just all over Massachusetts and I'm sure some of
these as we go on Mike are going to take on a real national attention like so many other cases
that I've had you on about have in the past when we come back I want to play some sound from Brett
Smiley the Providence mayor who is explaining why the arena Zoritska mural has to come down and on
that same front we're going to talk a little bit about Sheridan Gorman so these are two cases
that the Democrats don't want to go near or don't want to see murals of or don't want to see
you know any coverage of and there's a very clear reason why I also didn't realize I have
another cut from Jennifer Newsome that I think we're going to get to so stay with us we'll be right
back follow grace on x at g underscore curly
this is the grace curly show

getting really excited as it gets closer but go to grace curly show.com and click on that banner
to learn more about our trip to tuscany with colette Taylor what is the poll question and what
of the results thus far today's poll question which you can vote in at grace curly show.com is
do you support lee zeldin leaving the EPA to become attorney general.
yes yes I do I've seen what he's been able to do at the EPA he's done a great job but I think
he could be better utilized at the DOJ 78% say yes all right so I played this cut of Jennifer
Newsom that's getting a lot of attention where she talks about how she gives her sons dolls to play
with and she switches genders when reading books but there's another cut Taylor that I want to read
or not that I want to read I want to play for everyone this is cut to oh and I I was going to say
this earlier and then I forgot story of my life let's try to think of what it reminds me of
it reminds me of the liberal women who are constantly telling us how terrified their kids are
of global warming and it's really not about because you you'd hope they're lying you hope that
they're lying you're like I I have to believe that you haven't scared your five year old into being
afraid of global warming I just cannot believe you're that bad of a parent but they really do it so
that you know how great they are like I teach my kids that the sea levels are rising and that the
planet is on a ticking time she said the earth is on fire and we're all going to die soon yeah that
that is what she's trying to do here by telling us all these things she does um this is cut to
though take a listen to this at the end of the day we're all kind of like in this place in
history maybe where we're recognizing what it is to ultimately deconstruct all these gender roles
and ultimately be human and that's exciting to me so you know I'll just continue to kind of do
my work and try and deconstruct all of these like limiting narratives about ultimately what it
means to be human yeah she's our white savior of the week for sure um no but I have a question
what it means to be human I've never had to there's a lot of things I have to study like when I
talk about the Iran conflict when I talk about any of this stuff Ukraine Russia you guys know I'm
back there trying to cram some information or I bring on people who know more than I do but one
thing that I've always felt pretty good on like one thing that I feel is though I haven't needed
to brush up on as being human it's I'm gonna I'm gonna say some crazy Taylor it's all I've ever
known it's all I've ever known I think that her and Gavin might have to brush up on what it
means to be human because they both seem like cyborgs they both seem couldn't you believe like if
there was a movie think like steppered wives but it was about a couple and they were actually robots
who were just disguised as human beings that would be Gavin Newsom and Jennifer cyber hyphen
Newsom they have to study how to be human that's probably part of the hand motions the Gavin's
doing you know it's all in an effort this is what humans do they shimmy their shoulders when
they talk he is definitely learning how to become a human being um and I wish him luck on that
now I did tell you that I wanted to play another cut here and this was a story they got a lot
of attention earlier this week we started the week off with this in Providence there was a mural
for arena zirutska who was murdered while she was on a train in north carolina by someone who
never should have been out of prison and the mayor in Providence was explaining why they took
this mural down can I have cut five please you've got some national media attention for your response
to this and because I'm paraphrasing here you said the intent behind these murals is divisive
and does not represent Providence the murals artists sort of feels like he was stifled do you have
any regrets about what you said and how you handled that I regret the state of where we are in
politics today where absolutely everything is political and controversial and hard um there's
nothing we should be doing to take away from the tragedy of loss of life that was represented
here but then it was distorted by an erroneous tweet by our president and then a movement was
funded by some right-wing billionaires and it found its way to our community we have a lot of
public art in Providence and we have a thoughtful process for how we add public art publicly funded
public arts and this didn't go through any of that process we hold on hold on hold on hold on so
the art generated a response and thank you this is where I was going with this
are we going to end up talking about Conclave no no
because Taylor always I said I hated the movie Conclave I'm like well it's a listening
a good good good art is supposed to be provocative and evoking emotions feel something and people
feel like this young girl from Ukraine who is a refugee who's trying to go to work and
was stabbed on a train in the most brutal bloody fashion in front of a bunch of people that
it makes them feel outraged that this happened in the United States of America and that it shouldn't
have happened and it's not your job smiley to dictate how people feel about something or to try to
control what reactions a mural gets and this mural wasn't even finished so the artist you must be
the greatest of all time of an unfinished work of his is evoking this much hatred in good
draw say his name in God draw go draw I thought it was good job but I could be rolling that yeah he's
been posting a lot about this we will be back I've got a story here I'm actually going to ask
mr x from mass daily news about a few different stories that are brewing on their website but a
woo ally spent 19 thousand dollars of campaign cash on a relative we're gonna talk about it when
come back the grace curly show is on the air
welcome back everyone to the grace curly show I was just reading this story in the
herald about how the Boston Archdiocese is not going to give dispensation for good Friday to have
a hot dog at the red talk game like thought the season opener or whatever and I thought
well yeah no that would be dumb like I and then I said that I said how stupid would that be like oh
God forbid you miss a hot dog at the red talk game you gotta do it sorry it's good Friday it's a big
deal in the Catholic Church and then Jared said Jared shows up throws water on my theory with
something holy water on your theory holy water all over my theory he goes well you know sometimes
they give dispensation for corn beef if St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday and I said that's not true
and he said no it is and then I googled it and much to my horror he is correct that feels goofy to
me I'm telling this to the to the Catholic Church or the archdiocese I'm telling you this right now
okay clip it clip it yep that's dumb okay it's supposed to be and we actually have this conversation
recently tell her about religion it's like it's I know that everyone now is and I include myself
in this by the way a lot of people are cafeteria Catholics like you you try to go to my ass you
maybe you go on Easter maybe or whatever I'm trying to go more as I get older but you're not helping
by telling people you can take good Friday off but if you want to have a hot dog or a corn
beef then well yeah no sorry it falls on a Friday so you got to step it up a little bit you got
to resist you're just giving in to the whims of people you're making it something so light like
I thought dispensation I don't really know that much about it but I thought it was hey you're pregnant
so you know don't fast this day or like or you have a health issue where you need me you need the hot
dog it's your own life support you need the hot dog whatever I didn't always for take me out to
the ball game and it's not they're saying the hot dogs are not but I didn't know the corn beef was
and I don't know if I'm alone in this I think it kind of waters down what we're doing to be giving
out free passes hall passes to have corn beef you look like the fourth of July like Taylor says
we want a hot dog real bad thank you Jennifer Coolidge okay we have a great guest on he's probably
going why are they wasting their time on this mass daily news joins us now that's the only
way we're going to go by this guest you're gonna have to just you know deal with it I was going to
do mr x he didn't like that we're gonna do mr mass daily news joins us now to talk about some big
stories that are brewing and yesterday we had on city counselor at large Aaron Murphy and she was
talking about the need for an audit in the city of Boston they're dealing with this budget gap
and at the same time they're dealing with this budget cap a story comes out that the south
Boston varsity high school team didn't have baseball hats that didn't make it into the budget and so
Bobby Ferrara from selfie has to go over to the shop and get a bunch of hats made the guy makes
them from the shop for free I think his name was Moynihan and they get the baseball hats in time
but it starts this conversation which Aaron Murphy and Ed Flynn you know brought to the city council
of where is this money going and why can't we audit this if we have a baseball team that can't have
proper equipment in the city of Boston how is this being allowed when we're spending so much money
on everything else now this is where it gets really crazy Boston city counselor Sharon Durkin
didn't want anyone looking at the city's books and so what mass daily news did is they started
looking at Sharon's books mass daily news give us the rundown on this story and what you got so far
thanks for having on the show yeah so essentially after she bought the audit and you know we were
we were pretty interesting to see well what what you're looking at on trend right so then we we
started diving into her OCPF finance numbers right and we we found some interesting things so
she has you know she has spent almost $300,000 on her personal you know her campaign
donor money right that you know she's been around hold on mass daily news mass daily news I'm
going to stop you right there because I want I love stories like this because I'd like to know
all the details so I'm gonna put you on hold and we want to show up this connection because I
would have offered to give you the voice changer it sounds like you have a voice changer of your own
on this line so we're gonna fix this up but again we're talking now about Sharon Durkin the Boston
city counselor she's being described in a lot of these stories not just from the mass daily news but
in other stories out there as a woo ally and I'm gonna ask mass daily news about that in just a minute
here once we get a firmer connection but she spent 19,700 dollars of campaign cash on a relative
took 736 Uber rides and racked up thousands in bar tabs as she blocks the 100 million dollar
audit of Boston's books now this to me just tells you all you need to know about these public
officials or these politicians um they pulled every dollar of her campaign finance records from
the state's public database mass daily news we got you back okay now walk us through these numbers
one more time go ahead all right so I hope you can hear me better so I um we started digging into
her OCPF because if she you know it's not gonna let us the taxpayers see the books well let's dig
into her books and all this is public from OCPF filings so what we found was pretty interesting so
at a high level she's she's been you know I think 2023 is really when she started raising money
and she has spent about a hundred thousand dollars a year so almost three hundred thousand dollars
which does is it's kind of a lot for a you know district counselor but some of the specific line
items were that she spent almost twenty thousand dollars on quote unquote consulting services
to somebody with the same last name as her we now I think it's her sister but we're just calling
her a relative right um she has spent um she has booked 736 uber rides uh totally about twelve
thousand dollars and keep in mind she chairs the planning development and transportation committee
that's the body that oversees bus routes bike lanes etc and she also has champions like putting
cameras on the bus for tickets um you know always talking about bike lanes and things so we kind of
find it hilarious that she has spent all this money on uber and and keep in mind a lot of these
ubers a hundred and fifty plus of them are under ten dollars Boston is one of the most walkable cities
and in America probably one in the world so you know like it to us it's it's kind of a while that
she has to go and you know take a eight dollar uber ride when she to just walk um other stuff
that we found um she has spent you know almost fifteen thousand dollars just like on bar tabs
restaurant tabs um she you know we're back when Michelle Wu went to um congress to testify about
all the uh i stuff she you know she spent thousands there um she went on a Kamala Harris fundraiser
so all these things she spent um about i think it was eighty thousand well it was almost
fifty thousand to just one consultant but just a eighty three thousand total on political consultants
so that's nearly thirty percent of all campaign spending so we just wanted to dive in you know
if she's not letting us see the books of the city like well we might as well look at her books
that's and that's kind of the story one and it's making a lot of a headway on social media as it
should and and you talk about this line item you just mentioned it here a series of payments
to Victoria Durk and they obviously share the same last name you guys describe her as a relative
if this is a case of hey you know um i'm going to give some money to a relative who's pretending
or maybe is working for me in some regards i call that a tail is old as time this is the this is the
one of the most classic rackets from politicians is like let me hire my sister to help with this
wing wing Bernie Sanders just checking with Bernie Sanders he does it he did it with his wife um she
has very good taste uh mass daily news and restaurants i've been to a couple of these places the
beehive great spot salty girl uh ward eight um the tip tap room was a big one
mm-hmm yeah she spent about fifteen hundred dollars there on a birthday on a birthday thing so
yeah she she's been there twelve times alone or not you know what i'm saying she's been to that one
at twelve times i know what you know yeah i know what you're saying for a second i thought you
meant alone i was like how do you know she was by herself um yeah tell me about the trip to cope in
Hagen yeah so um so on that one she went to um you know had flights hotel Wi-Fi um things like that
i i i'll be honest for that one we don't have a a deep background in that trip specific we kind
of just bunched it in with with all of them but it was in may twenty twenty four um
vicinity energy plus Boston delegations you know uh flights six hundred twenty dollar hotel
Wi-Fi things like that um not sure why a small district counselor needs to be going to things
like that but hey if her donors want to fund her her trips i guess that's that's that's on them
but we found it interesting i i would think that some people who have given her money are now
rethinking it because this is just this is crazy and for her to say i don't want this city to be
audited i don't want the city's books to be open to people as for example the varsity baseball team
in southe doesn't have baseball hats that has to drive people nuts what kind of response have you
been seeing to these stories as they unfold you know just people people are upset furious right
because it's kind of also ties into the whole state level audit i know that's not related but
i think the word audit just gets people going um but yeah mainly just not not happy um probably
some things i can't read on the air but essentially people are not happy there you know they all think
like they think that she's just who's rubber stamp um things like that just you know keep
keep audit like people are happy that we wrote this story and people are really loving it i've
gotten text messages personally people that are telling me like great story things like that
no no it's it's a great story and and mass daily news um another part of this that i think
would be good for you to explain is explain her connection with mayor woo because she's being
every time she's being written about it's woo ally but explain how far these two go back
hello hello hi i think you disconnected you said a part of this and then you went blank oh i'm
sorry i'm sorry so woo ally Sharon Durkin what is her background with mayor woo i know in a lot
of these stories they're pictured together um and you described her as a rubber stamp for mayor woo
but kind of go into that a little bit for us yeah so um she used to work for mayor woo directly uh
that's how she got her star and then mayor woo endorsed her and then ever since then it seems
that she has been this essentially in woo's pocket that's what it seems like you know this
this is a pattern right like last summer um ed Flynn he filed to declare mass and caste of public
safety emergency and Durkin objected it it never it got sent to a committee and it never came back
and that led to like hundreds of south end residents packing this hotel room in the south end
actually we were there and um you know they were mad at her actually i remember when she walked in
i think not i think i remember people were like upset with her and she also walked in like an
hour late and then she was on her phone a lot of it um but yeah she i personally just don't know like
i just feel like she is this woo's rubber stamp that's that's what it seems like yeah no no i think
you just provided a plenty of reasoning for that um mass daily news i have one other question on
a story that's just blowing up on your website and it has to do with the mass senate president
and again another reason for people to feel as though um a lot of these politicians are less concerned
with their day to day or you know putting their tax money to good use and more concerned with either
you know crazy causes and national card eb holidays or whatever and also in this case um funding
additional lawyers for illegal aliens facing deportation can you just give us a quick rundown of
this story that has taken off on mass daily news.com yeah so it's kind of what you said um the senate
president Karen Spilka is she's she announces she wants to put more money from the millionaires
tax which keep in mind it was supposed to go to schools and things like that to these deportation
lawyers so a lot of people are really mad because that's that's not what it was for and like you said
it seemed that a lot of politicians and massachusetts they're really just like you know they're going
after the culture war thing and they're dealing with with um you know the kitchen kitchen table issues
and that's that's really been infuriating a lot of people and that's the kind of stuff that
you know we try to focus on those kitchen table issues so yeah they think that's helped
our audience grow but yeah like people are not not happy about it um
you know they're the whole thing with you know a lot of the people that ice is a resting or
bad people you know you have gang members right we were at an article the other day about
you know trender agua gang members child predators things like that and and just we're
funding these lawyers and it just you know it doesn't doesn't make sense to us um we we have a lot of
financial issues and massachusetts and they're just better use of our taxpayer dollars
yeah and I think it has to do with this new age of politicians being more like social media
influencers or you know half-baked celebrities and so therefore they're not boring politicians and
they don't want to do the things that are seen as boring they don't want to focus on the nuts
and bolts they don't want to focus on for example the city finances if you're a Boston City
counselor they would rather focus on Israel and us in Iran which is not really part of their job
description but it is if they want to raise their profile and you know bring back the boring
politicians who actually got stuff done I miss those days massdailynews.com is the place to go
for all of these stories doing a really great job thank you sir for joining us I hope to have
you on again and we will be right back watch the show live rumble.com slash The Grace Curly Show
this is The Grace Curly Show there have been a lot of conservatives over the last few years who
have raised concerns about act blue the DNC's fundraising platform including Andy Biggs
the Virginia AG plenty of conservative platforms and The New York Times has actually done a lot
of reporting on act blue over the years and they have a story out now that act blue may have
misled Congress on vetting foreign donations its lawyers warned and this is Peter Schweitzer actually
put up a quote from the report in the 2024 election cycle over 40% of the nearly two billion
dollars raised by the largest democratic super PACs came from entities that did not disclose
their donors according to the Times analysis that was twice the rate of the largest Republican
super PACs that cycle so donors that did not just I'm sorry entities that did not disclose
their donors is that a funny way of saying dark money too often powerful special interest use
