12th on second arrives at Indian Wells.
Produces one of his best performances.
But still loses to Yannick's dinner in straight sets.
We're going to be speaking about that.
Daniel Medvedev playing his new aggressive style.
He looks good.
Yala defeated convincingly.
And Boko looking great.
Beating and it's him over.
We're here to chat.
Indian Wells tennis.
That's right.
And what a last 24 hours of tennis we have had.
It's still going on as we speak right now.
But there's only one place I think we can start.
It was the big build match in round four.
And it was the new era.
Jalfon Secker.
We thought, is he going to bring the same level that he did against Tommy Paul
against Yannick's dinner?
And the answer was simply a big resounding yes.
And we did get the match that we so wanted.
He was so good in this match, Jalfon Secker.
Bringing a level, I didn't think was possible.
Not for the whole duration of the two sets.
I thought it would go to tie break first set.
But I didn't see Fonsecker getting set points and put in
a really under the caution in this match.
It was so impressive to see him hitting with such an amazing level power accuracy.
Didn't have the nerves there.
And he said in his post match press conference,
the only thing that let him down today were really just the big points.
Just those one or two in the tie break that sinner was just able to outlast him.
So got our applaud Jalfon Secker.
I thought it was a very, very admirable performance against Yannick's dinner in top form.
Yeah, and I don't think anyone could be too critical or mad about my prediction
that I thought Fonsecker could beat Yannick's dinner.
He was very close and it was a really close match against two top players.
The tweet I've just sent you highlights this.
It's from tennis insights and it shows something unprecedented.
Jalfon Secker recorded a 9.42 performance rating in the second set versus sinner,
which is the highest rating in a set loss ever recorded.
That just tells you everything.
I've really got the graphic at the bottom because it shows when you saw the peaks
from each player.
Yannick's dinner really peaking towards the back end at the business end of that first set
and closing the distance and securing it.
But in the second set, Fonsecker was probably the better player for large spells of it.
Like I said, he got what was it?
9.42 performance rating.
He was moving.
I thought it incredibly well and this just shows to me that there's a player in there
who can go and challenge the top players.
He can challenge for Grand Slams.
Whether or not this year, it could be too soon.
Let's wait and see.
But the way he's going and the way he can play,
Drown Fonsecker is so exciting and I don't think you can really not get carried away when
you're watching play.
It feels, no, it's not like Adicala's when we was watching him at full of 15, 16, 17.
We knew he was going to be so really special.
Fonsecker, I still feel like it's not the same as that Carlos Adicala's package.
It's more like a mcetti that's slightly different, a bit better maybe than what we saw of
mcetti in the challenger tour because we're seeing him do this against the very best in the
world like already.
He didn't win.
He lost in straight sets but I've got nothing critical to say about Drown Fonsecker's game.
I'm super encouraged from my prediction for him being in the top 10 because I think if he
produces performances like this for 70% of the rest of the season, then that is enough for me to
secure top 10.
Yeah, it should be.
If you play at that level, there's not many people that can hang in there and do what he did
to Janik Sinner in this match, which it wasn't take a set but not many people really can do that.
It was close though and for someone of his young age, I just thought it was a very complete
performance and Sinner even said it as well.
He's not afraid.
He likes to go for his shots.
He's very aggressive and he has a great mentality.
Every player is different.
There are things he does better than me and other things I do better than him.
It's good for tennis to have players like Joe, which I totally agree.
We've seen Janik Sinner and we've seen what Alkalaz can do.
Now it's nice to see somebody.
He's not really a replica of either.
He doesn't remind me of either players at all and he has his own following.
He has all of the Brazilian fans that he's getting to fill up the stands wherever he goes.
He's a big popcorn match player and I think the fact that he's so good as well,
it helps in abundance.
I think he's great for tennis.
This is what we need in tennis.
We need someone who's going to go in there and mix it up a little bit.
We're lacking someone who can split or divide the Alkalaz Sinner dominance at the moment
and maybe he could be the person who does it because with performances like that,
I'm really encouraged.
Yeah, Jocovic was talking about Fonseca last week and downplaying him slightly.
I don't know if you saw that.
He said, Fonseca gets so much of the spotlight but Menseca and TN deserve that too because of their
results.
Obviously, both Menseca and TN, a two other young players who are ahead of Fonseca in the rankings.
Do you think that they should be talked about more and why do you feel like
Fonseca around him?
There's that extra level of height.
I've got my theory and it's to do with that sort of then powerful shots he's got.
What's yours?
I think it's similar to the Yala scenario, to be honest.
When you feel when you create a strong, because you're from a certain area where
they've been, I wouldn't say starved, but a little bit of a great tennis player in so long
that now they've got someone who is such an amazing potential.
Obviously, it's different for Yala because they've never had anybody and now they've got one,
so I totally get it on the Yala side of things.
But for him, Brazil was such a big sport in nation that they really back their sport stars,
that now they've got someone in tennis that looks like he could really get to the summit.
I think that when you start filling stadiums and you're causing this constant stir,
that's why media get involved.
There's probably people annoyed that Yala's getting so many headlines.
She's just got bay good in her last match.
It doesn't mean she's not going to feel stands the next time she goes to,
but that's just the effect that a whole nation can have,
because they put so many eyes on that player.
And I think Fonseca and her, they're great for tennis because now everybody who wasn't aware
of who they are or who they're playing or the tournaments that they're in,
they didn't watch Indian Wells before, maybe.
Now they do.
And I think that that's the one thing that they're bringing to all of the tennis tour at the moment
is all of the young tennis fans around the world.
They might not just be watching only the Grand Slam,
so we might be watching all of the tour, which is brilliant for the sport.
Yeah, definitely.
Now, let us know what you guys think about Dr. Fonseca.
I agree with what you're saying about where he's from,
but I do think you need to add.
He's one off power and shots.
I think is enough to sell tickets.
And it's why people find him very entertaining.
Kirios has that sort of flair as well in sometimes the way he plays.
And Fonseca, I think, does it in a more consistent,
controlled manner?
No, he's able to play to the crowd as well.
I think that's a big factor when you come into
tournaments is it's one thing.
And I don't want to downplay certain other players because I feel that someone like Jack Draper.
America leads the world in medicine development.
It matters.
We get new medicines first nearly three years faster.
Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home.
And not relying on other countries keeps us safe.
But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them or will we choose to stay ahead?
When America leads, America cures.
Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead.

He's above the level of a Fonseca.
Doesn't have the same sort of doesn't really get the crowd going in the same way though.
Fonseca is able to like get the crowd in the palm of his hand.
And if a big moment happens, he will roar at the right
moment and create a moment, whereas someone like draper doesn't really,
he's just like a little c'mon or something like that.
Do you know what I mean?
It's not the quite the same level of emotion in the tennis match.
Yeah, let's move on from this because we've speaking about it for a while and
speaking about Alex Yala.
We do a lot of episodes about her often positive.
But let's be realistic.
This is a poor performance.
She lost six to six love.
Really out of sorts because usually if she loses a set,
so I convince him he fights back in at least one of them.
But I'm wondering,
is it something to do with check players?
So far, she's played 12 check players and lost every single one.
A lot of them are quite convincing.
I've sent you a graphic here.
You can go through it all.
You've got through Vietava,
Cicava, Vondrausava, Valentova, twice,
Noskova, Siniacava, Balskova, twice, Martin Kovar,
just loses constantly against check tennis players.
Can't seem to beat them.
Which weird, isn't it?
Just maybe she'll get better at this as time goes on,
but this is like the Medvedev versus French players type thing.
Maybe there's something in the style of play of check tennis,
which really upsets her,
and just she can't get a game going in the same way.
I don't know.
Surely not.
Or maybe it's just a big coincidence.
I'm disappointed, the fact that she's done so well
to get through these rounds,
looked great in the other matches.
And then we see her in this match.
And yeah, it was a little bit lackluster.
I think you've got to give Noskova some credit as well.
Someone you should be seeing the prizes of a bit more.
She's good.
Top 10 for the end of the year,
which she looks like she could be.
That she thinks she's about 14 in the world at the moment.
So looking like one of those players
who goes deep in tournaments now.
So a very, very good pick that one.
Probably better than Radoo Kanu,
but there's still a young in the league.
Probably, like 100% better.
But there was saying wrong with E.R. Lesurve anyway.
I don't know what it was,
but behind her first serve,
she won 36% of points.
Poor.
And I think that was the real stumbling point.
You compare that to Noskova,
177% of her first serves.
I think she just was having a really poor service day.
Yeah.
I don't know if you serve that bad.
Definitely not.
And I think that Noskova,
she just was able to prevent E.R.
to get going.
She had an answer for everything E.R.
was doing and as soon as she got the scoreboard,
like was ahead on the scoreboard, Radoo,
she didn't look back.
It didn't look like E.R.
was ever able to, like you said,
with that serve, if your serve's not going right,
as soon as you're down a break,
you're pretty much lost the set.
And I think she mentally capitulated
having a bad service day.
It's something she does need to improve the serve.
But.
Noskova is super powerful.
I don't know where she ranks in terms of power.
If you could put her against like an emboca
or a sabilenca or a baccala,
but for me, what's in her play?
That's why I'm including the top 10.
She's quite a big frame, strong lady, you
has a good serve, great ground strikes.
And she just out overpowered.
It looked like there was a big age gap between the two of them,
even though there isn't one.
Yeah, she was really impressive.
Look forward to seeing how she gets on in her next match.
Let me find out who that she'll be playing one second.
Noskova.
She'll be playing Gibson, who knocked out Pauline.
It was shock.
Gibson's been making her way through this tournament.
She's knocked out Alexander Ver, Clara Towson.
Now Pauline, she's having a fantastic tournament.
So well done to her.
I think Noskova would be loving that though.
She'll be like, all right, I reckon I could take out Gibson.
That's probably a bit easier match, I'd say,
than Pauline, on paper.
Anyway, from Master's call to final.
That's kind of who you'd want, right?
Let's have a look at the top 10.
So she is the only player left inside the draw
between, let's have a look.
Let's see, that was until you've got Kessler, 51 in the world.
Everyone else between her and 51 in the world are out of the tournament.
And above her, you've obviously got a larger player still inside the top 10,
who's there.
But she's got some chances.
Mukova's just above her just lost.
Benchich lost.
Alexander Ver lost.
Miran Deva lost.
So she can climb up through the rankings.
And if she wins a few more rounds,
could even end the tournament inside the top 10.
Taken in the Davis spot.
That would be pretty impressive, actually.
Didn't even...
It's going really well for her.
Yeah, that's for me.
Well, somebody else who could be happy if they were to sneak inside that top 10 as well,
good little segue, could be the Russian, Daniel, the octopus, Medvedev.
He is back to form.
That's for sure.
Seventh straight set win in a row.
And this one against Mikkelsen who've been looking really good in this tournament.
He made it look easy.
Six, two, six, four, 34 winners in today's match.
26th Masters 1000, quarter final.
And he awaits the winner of Djokovic and Draper.
And probably will fancy his chances against either of them, I think, in this form.
He looks great.
And he had to say on this,
I didn't like these courts in previous years.
But this year is much faster.
So there you go.
Daniel happy that the courts are playing a lot faster this year.
And it shows he's doing a lot better.
Yeah, I know Gary called me out, I think, in the preview.
And I was saying, I'm Medvedev likes these courts.
Of course, we know in the past how angry he's been here.
And he's always complaining.
So it's like a clay court,
but he was playing super aggressive.
34 winners, 17 unforced errors from Medvedev.
Which I think is just shows its intent.
And then how aggressive he was playing.
When he does play like this, I think he's a lot better.
Maybe he's been a little bit too passive
and defensive these last few years.
He doesn't want to play learner TN,
who's coming through the draw, looking great.
But I don't think he will mind against a Djokovic or a Draper.
I do agree with you.
I think they're both winnable matches.
And he is on the cusp of the top 10 or two.
He's 11th in the world.
But everyone from five to 10,
Mercedes-Diminal,
Fritz, Felix, Shelton and Bublik
are out of Indian world.
So he's got some points to defend, I believe,
because he got to the semi-final last year.
Yeah, I think he can go really far.
I think so as well.
I think that Daniel, this is just like we're saying with Fonseca,
someone to help come in and maybe divide what's going on
at the top of the sport.
I think we need him in there as well.
Djokovic isn't enough on his own right now,
especially in Masters' tournaments.
We need these other players.
I think it'd probably be better to say for Djokovic
if Draper probably beats him.
And then we might see something more competitive
come the end of the tournament,
because I don't think Djokovic is here to win it.
That's my personal opinion,
even though he's there and he's...
Do you see playing doubles?
When do you see Djokovic playing it?
Would you see Djokovic playing the...
He's playing doubles with Cisipa,
so I mean, in Abernelaal.
Yeah, but I mean, he's playing Bachelorette and Rinder Kinesh.
But there was just having a laugh out there.
When does Djokovic ever play doubles
and taking singles seriously and plays the doubles?
Doesn't.
This is what I mean.
He's there.
He's having a good time.
He's in the sun.
He's having probably a couple of cocktails
with that outside.
I think it's fine.
There's part of me I'd like to see Draper win.
I want to see Medvedev versus Draper.
But that for me, that's a big match
because Draper's the rain in champ.
Medvedev is in back into an amazing form.
Look at this.
I mean, built around consistency.
He said only 1% of matches on the ATP tour
finishes with all four shot qualities above 8.
And it says it's a consistent build.
First serves in, 78%.
Total returns in, 86%.
Four hands in, 88%.
Back hands in, 89%.
And look at this, 8.8 on a serve.
8.4 return, 8.54 hand, 8.1 back hand.
Hard to beat Daniel Medvedev
when he's pulling out those sort of stats, do you know what I think?
Yeah, I think it's good, but it's not Cardinal Tadcalaz.
It's not Yannick Sinner.
It's not Nine's, is it?
It's good, but it's not them.
And they are Nine's.
They produce Nine's when they need to.
I mean, Cardinal Tadcalaz is just beating Casparoud
as well in straight sets.
What is his streak now?
I mean, it's incredible, right?
It's not lost this year.
The last time he lost the match,
forget that, that's an exhibition.
ATP finals against Yannick Sinner.
Yeah, and I think his record on outdoor hard courts
is something.
It must be what, like, 37 wins now in a row.
Yeah, is it a crazy streak?
I mean, he started the year one Australian open,
then one Doha.
Now two games, or three games in Twindy and Wells,
one all of them, three matches, sorry, in Twindy and Wells,
one all of them, and world number one, 22 years old,
great at golf, everything going well for him.
So that's what I'm saying.
You look at Dan and Wade for their doing well.
Can he beat a Cardinal Tadcalaz right now?
I don't think so.
I really don't think so.
He's not that guy.
But let's transfer to the women's.
I know I'm floppin' around
because there is someone who is that girl.
She is that lady in boco the name.
Inside the top 10, next up, Saba Lenka.
She lost her at the Australian open.
Just beating a Nisim over comfortably.
Has power, has precision, has everything.
Just a really good top player.
The one probably who got away in our top 10.
I'm sure next year we're both going to have her inside the top 10.
But can she go and beat Saba Lenka?
Because I really think that's possible.
I don't look at this as the same as with saying,
okay, the women's tour is more consistent.
It seems right now across the top 10.
But when you look at an emboca,
I guess because she uses inside the top 10, this isn't valid.
But I feel that she has the ability to beat number one or number two.
On the men's, I don't think number 10 has anywhere near a chance to beat
an Alcajor Sino.
Yeah, they're sort of leaps and bounds above the rest of the tour,
it would seem at the moment.
But yeah, there is a lot more consistency in and around the top 10 for those players.
And some real great players coming to the forefront as well.
We had the rise of a Nisim over last year.
And boco obviously was good last year, but that was just the start.
Now we're seeing her start the year really well.
And who else can get at themselves in the mix?
We've just been speaking about Niscova.
She could be getting herself into the top 10 soon.
And then you've still got Pagula.
She's super consistent playing really well at this tournament as well.
Sabba always good.
We're back in the playing well.
Eagah's back to form as well now.
Everybody's firing.
And there's a lot of straight sets wins coming in this tournament.
And dominant straight sets like Niscova, a 6-2 in a bagel.
Eagah, 6-2 in a bagel.
Sabbelenka beats Asaka easily.
Straight sets.
We've got Spitalina.
That's another one we haven't mentioned.
She's been dominating as well.
She's in great form.
A lot of them are straight sets.
She said that before we went live, didn't we?
Yeah, it is weird that it feels like a lot of these tournaments right now.
It's similar to the slam, this one.
And when you get to the depths of the tournament,
the real good players are then producing even better performances against higher opposition
and getting even easier wins, it would seem, just from their level of performance.
But I guess that's what happens.
They're gradually warming up as the tournament goes on.
And you're getting to see their top level come the final.
I don't know who's going to win on the women's.
I mean, I picked Sabba at the start of the tournament,
but it's really a toss up on the women's side.
Well, Rebacken is playing right now, so I'm going to stick with her.
Hopefully she can go on and win, but it's not going to be easy against cartels.
She does have the early break, so fingers crossed on that one.
And I'm going to be sticking with Rebacken to win Indium Worlds.
On the men's, it's tougher, but you've got to be between Al-Kraz and Sienna.
Hopefully we get them in the final, but I think it'll be quite interesting.
But Al-Kraz is going to have to be favourite.
I mean, we're talking about levels.
I know you're saying Daniel Medvedev.
He's really consistent on the tour.
I think he's got the most hard court wins since 2020.
I just saw that start as well.
Well, no one's got more hard court wins than him.
The annex in the second, I think Fritz, Diminor.
No, Fritz, Felix, a few of them.
Plak guys are up there too.
Sverev, but no one's won as many matches on a hard court as Medvedev.
He's not Carlos Al-Kraz.
Al-Kraz isn't that first set against Casper Rude.
I know we didn't watch it because we was talking.
We saw a little bit of it, but he achieved a 9.7 rating in that first set against Casper Rude.
You can have to watch it.
It was absolutely incredible.
Like, ridiculous level from Carlos Al-Kraz.
Casper Rude is a good tennis player.
We've seen him many times in person now.
We've seen him at Wimbledon.
We've seen him at UTS.
We've seen him at a few events, I think.
We've seen the way he moves.
He's a really good player.
He's got completely demolished.
Like, Carlos Al-Kraz, when he plays like this is unplayable.
A 9.7 in the first set.
Yes, just two good.
Just Rude's level is just nowhere close.
Unfortunately for Rude, there's good and then there's great.
And Carlos Al-Kraz is just definitely great.
I'm surprised Rinda Kinesh took a set from him.
That's actually very impressive.
I don't think he played as good.
This is a better performance.
Yeah, he just got the job done against Rinda Kinesh.
That's what you do.
And you're not playing your best, you get the win.
But then when you are playing your best,
Casper Rude gets absolutely stuffed.
And now Al-Kraz plays in Camnory in the quarterfinals.
We have a dodgy match for Al-Kraz,
if I remember rightly, in the past Camnory.
He lost to him.
I think that was his last defeat in Paris in October.
Al-Kraz since then, well, I think he lost then,
was it, he had seen it at the ATP finals, like I just said.
But he's won 15 consecutive matches
and he's won 33 consecutive outdoor hardcore matches.
It's crazy.
Is 19 ATP Masters quarterfinals and he's 22?
So he's almost been to as many Masters 1,000 quarterfinals as he's aged.
Next exceptional.
Somebody we definitely have to speak about
because he's just on a comeback
and he looks phenomenal as well.
It's half a phase.
In this match against Felix,
very mind-fee,
we've been saying one of the players to beat at the moment,
he came back.
He had to save.
I think it was how many set points did he save in that second set?
It was five set points he saved in the tie-back.
It was five love down in the tie-break
and came back on one that second set tie-breaker, 11-9.
He plays some just fantastic tennis this guy.
He really looks like he wants it this year.
He's back.
He's almost like pissed off that he has not been in,
not having a look in over the past year due to injury.
And now,
I just rarely see someone come back
and they go straight back in at the top of the sport again.
Normally, it takes a little bit of time just to dust off the cobwebs.
He's gone straight back in.
He made a final.
Now, he's into the quarterfinals at Indian Wells
and he's facing Zverev next.
I think he could beat Zverev as well.
Yeah, I think he's good,
but I'm not so hyped for him as I am other players.
I think he is good,
and I'm not going to be critical.
But if I look at like a Lereda Tier
and I'm more impressed with him,
or if I'm second.
Yeah, they are.
And Lereda Tierne as Yannick's in the next.
So I'm not going to,
I can't say much about our fees.
I think he has been really good coming back
and I've not seen enough yet to make any big statements.
It is weird, like you're saying,
with the women's and the men's,
if you do the comparison of the two,
when you've got so many strong players in the top 10
that can actually compete with the big three players on the women's side,
we do have a lot of strength and depth on the men's tour
that are outside the top two.
Like it's people like Arthur Fees,
like Felix has been playing well.
It's very, like we've got Djokovic still in the mix.
Medvedev coming back to form drapers now back
and looking fantastic again.
There's a bigger gap,
like all these players are good.
There's a bigger gap, a reason,
but they know where near the top two.
It's encouraging to see the level of performance
which is gradually getting there.
That they're about to see.
They're not closing the gap.
I think they are a little bit.
They're not.
They're no way are they closing the gap on Siena and Ankhaz.
Fonseca did really well against Yannick Siena,
but this is not for me the top Yannick Siena.
I think Fonseca against this version of Carlos Alcadas.
I mean, I think Fonseca's a bit different,
so let me not just keep talking about him.
But the other guys, they're just not,
they're just not,
I just don't see him beating them too.
I really don't see them.
I think what Djokovic did in Australia,
was really good.
Amazing.
That was magical.
Probably one of the biggest moments,
I think, could be this year,
even though he didn't win Australia open.
Him doing that against Siena was impressive.
No one else is really doing that in these big events.
And I've seen a loss on the van and he's a bit close to him.
Ankhaz has lost yet,
and I don't think anyone's getting closer to him.
I think I'm maybe thinking,
taking it closer to Siena at the moment then,
but I think getting closer to Alcadas.
Alcadas is yet to have a wobble this year.
I think you actually lost the set.
Yeah, but then a wobble.
It's one of those lost the set,
and then what were the next two sets that they weren't that close?
It wasn't like,
I feel like Fonseca's was closer,
then despite him taking a set,
it was actually,
Fonseca was closer,
despite losing in Australia.
That's why it's a weird,
like weird scorelines,
like just losing two sets to one.
Didn't really tell the story because he battered him
by the end of the match,
whereas Fonseca was pretty close.
Arthur Fees,
I think the more he keeps going deeper in tournaments,
he needs to play the top players more often,
though, because you don't know what it's like to play them
until you get to the match of them.
And then that's the only time you get to sharpen your tools against them.
He played what Alcadas,
he got blitzed in that final,
and he's probably like,
oh, this is the level.
I thought that the level was Jacob Mensick.
Oh, I've just beat him,
or I thought the level was whoever else had just beaten.
No, the level is probably 10 times higher
than that level that you've just played and beaten.
So the more he plays him,
the better he will become, I think.
And I think everybody needs to just,
I don't know, they just need to take some sort of lesson
from each time they lose to a sinner or an Alcadas,
because if they don't,
just going to end up with a very, very heavy,
lopsided head to head.
That's the way tennis has been, though, Ben.
Look what the big three,
they dominated the generation,
beating so many other top fantastic tennis players,
who look really good,
but just couldn't quite get it over the line.
I mean,
Chillic and Murenka,
they tried it at times and did some good things,
with a little stronger,
round edge,
they'll pop through.
They did a few little bits here and there,
but ultimately they got dominated.
And it feels a bit like,
currently right now,
Alcadas and similar.
And sinner are going to do pretty much the same thing.
But there we go.
Let's wrap it up there.
It's been a long day,
been a long week,
probably at Wednesday here in the UK.
Almost Thursday,
it's almost midnight.
