This is the Bloodred Podcast from the Liverpool Echo giving you the inside track on all the
big talking points from Anfield.
Very good afternoon and welcome to this live edition of the Bloodred Podcast coming to
you as ever from the Liverpool Echoes offices in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.
Well the reds are through to the quarterfinal of the Champions League after an emphatic
four-nil win against Galatasaray or can they do it on a windy Saturday launch time in
Brighton to discuss that and to decide if it is possible.
I'm joined today by Mark Jones, Mark, how are you doing?
Good.
Is it going to be windy in Brighton?
I've not checked the weather forecast, but that's what fit with the narrative of the
outro.
So it could be windy.
It might be sunny.
Which is nice isn't it?
Brighton's lovely place you've been.
I've never been to Brighton.
Really nice place, been there a couple of times.
I was there for the Germany game for Beniole should have been sent off.
That's the FA Cup game, that's my over-miding memory of going to Brighton, which they lost
in the last minute.
That's a good start.
That's a good start.
Yeah, a good feel of the factor.
Yeah, I know the most memorable thing about Brighton for me is Fat Boy Slims too.
Beach parties there, I think the first one went quite well and then the second one I thought
we might get about 50,000 there and about a quarter of a million people turned up.
Yeah, which shows you ladies and gentlemen the council planning is very important.
Yes.
No in-dial today.
No.
It's his birthday.
Ah.
Isn't that lovely?
It's a big one as well.
It's a big one.
Yeah.
Ian Doyle is 50 today.
The big 5-0, which makes on the elder statesman of the blood red podcast, of course.
So Ian is not here, he's had the audacity to take a day off.
So I think it's only right, because this is a live show, I'm around YouTube.
I think it's only right if the viewers could send their birthday wishes to Ian in the
live chat.
Yeah.
And we can read them out and pass them on to Ian, it'll be made up, wouldn't we?
He will be.
I mean, he's sitting on anything else.
He's sitting waiting for him.
He's watching this.
He's surely watching.
He'll probably write it himself.
Yeah, he probably will.
Yeah, I'd imagine so.
Yeah.
But 50, it's a big birthday, Mark, so I didn't want to pass that milestone without celebrating
it.
So I thought...
Here we go.
Oh, we've got, yeah.
I thought we'd have some cakes.
Oh, come on, lovely.
So we've got Mr. Kickling, Bakewell Slices, the best I could get at short notice, to be honest.
Would you join me for a cake?
What, you might?
Absolutely.
Okay.
You know, this is a good quality production.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Right there.
Oh, thanks very much.
Is this your favourite cake, Mark, or...?
It's up there, you know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let's say they're good.
He's consistent in the old, Mr. Kickling.
He's very consistent.
He makes exceedingly good cakes.
He makes exceedingly good.
And he has done a few years.
He has.
Do you want to know a fun fact about him, actually?
Go on.
He's going to tell me one.
Yeah, he doesn't exist.
Oh.
It's completely a marketing ploy.
He did not know that.
I just put it on.
He did.
Thank you very much.
He's doing very important.
Yes.
That doesn't exist unfortunately, but...
He did not know that.
In my mind, he does.
So, in my heart, he does.
Yeah.
In my heart, yeah.
Well, try and mulch this in between questions.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, if we can't.
Put them at the front.
Yeah, no problem there.
Mr. Kickling is not sponsored of the blood red podcast.
Oh, I just presumed he was.
So, for branding purposes, I'll keep them down there.
Mr. Kickling does not want to be associated with the blood red podcast.
It does not.
Mr. Kickling, can we say that?
It does not.
Sorry, Ian didn't get a cake himself.
To be honest.
Well, if you take a day off, what'd you expect?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, well, well, what about further ado?
We haven't come here to talk about cakes.
Oh, we're not.
Okay.
Not at all.
No, we've come to talk about Liverpool and today's show is titled
Euro Relief.
Yes.
Now, if you do...
Is that another sponsor?
If you do type that into Google,
I would recommend using a secure internet connection to do it.
Just on the safe side.
Yep.
So, what better to use the NordVPN,
who just happened to be a sponsor of the blood red podcast?
Some of the benefits of NordVPN include watching sporting events,
TV shows, and films which aren't available in your region
by switching your virtual locations of a country,
which is showing the event.
And it also protects your private data like bank details,
passwords, and online identity.
So, if you want Euro Relief, get a NordVPN.
For more benefit to information, download the NordVPN app,
and you can do that by visiting nordvpn.com forward slash
blood red.
Our link will also give you four extra months on the two-year plan,
and there's no risk with Nord's 30-day money back guarantee.
The link is in the podcast.
Episode description box below.
They've got an early one for Nord today.
You've got very early.
Yeah, really?
Just fit with the narrative once again.
Galatasaray.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
We sat there like...
Well, I think you can actually predict that the one-one draw
to go out on pens.
Did he?
Yeah, that's that.
Oh, sorry.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I kind of tipped us to edge through two-one.
I think I was a bit...
You asked me and I said I was about 70-30 on confidence,
sort of, of going through.
Yeah.
So, I mean, that was just misplaced as well, wasn't it?
It sounds like Liverpool Possession starts.
Yeah.
Those are the 75.
But, you know, they proved it was all wrong,
and they made it very easy, didn't they?
They did.
Much better.
Good atmosphere.
Yeah.
They worked hard, looked full of energy.
For once.
But is it just because Galatasaray were a bit rubbish?
I mean, Galatasaray were rubbish.
But we saw that six minutes into the first leg
when they were all over the place, weren't they?
And then they scored from their first attack
and they scored from the corner,
and that whole game changed.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I think when you play a team like them,
from perhaps one of these lesser leagues,
the away leg is always the problem for them, isn't it?
You know, going away to a big ground
and intimidating place of things.
They're excellent at home, but away is where they often fall apart.
And that was what it was.
And yeah, I mean, the atmosphere was,
I think there was nerves at the beginning, wasn't there?
But then, I don't think Galatasaray themselves any favours
for all that kind of,
and all slot was very strong on it, wasn't it?
But all that stuff that the opening sort of 15-20 minutes,
I think it really pains Liverpool's answers, it was a bit like,
okay, so you're going to be like that, are you?
Are you suggesting they were being a little theatrical?
Just a little.
Yeah, although, I mean,
Osserman, it turns out, did get quite a, quite a bad injury.
It was fractured this arm.
Not as bad as not, while I haven't got a worse one.
But, yeah.
But, yeah, but you take that aside,
there was a lot of stopping of play.
I think it was all to kill the mental of Liverpool.
It was, you know, this idea that if they can,
if they can sort of stop Liverpool building attacks,
then they could perhaps have got something,
but ultimately, I mean, they were never getting out of there
with a clean sheet.
And, you think there was nothing really to go for?
Osserman's clearly, that was a big blow for them
to have him injured early on.
He tried to carry on, but he couldn't really.
So that was a huge blow,
because he's a really, really good player.

The Blood Red Podcast from the Liverpool Echo.
That pretty much killed it.
Yeah.
Yeah, they just lost that threat, didn't they?
But I don't think they had.
I mean, yes, he's a fantastic player,
but they needed to get the ball to him.
And there wasn't much of that going on.
And Liverpool just dominated it.
And it was a case of, kind of, once that few.
You were just waiting on that first goal.
You know, the way it arrived, very, very good goal, wasn't it?
And then once that went in, it was a bit like,
yeah, this is probably going to be going to be all right.
Even even the Miss penalty was kind of like,
okay, well, there's a second after come.
And then they came out in the second half.
And that was superb.
Wasn't it?
Was it 10 minutes to three goals?
Took it away from them.
And that was that.
And yeah, ultimately a very good night.
And one where lots of things that we've seen.
But they've tried to put together all season, kind of did.
But you're right.
You've got to put it into context of not a very good opponent, really.
Yeah.
62% possession for Liverpool.
32 shots.
16 on target.
Which is about half.
I've quickly.
Exactly half.
Is it?
More than about there.
Yeah.
I've come on leaps and bounds to fail them at 12 times table on Monday.
That's a lot of it.
32 shots.
Which half on target.
You know, it shows you that they were being incisive.
They were.
They were cutting through them.
And they, I mean, it was, it was four nearly could have been eight, couldn't it?
I really.
I feel like as soon as us, I mean, didn't come back out.
Yeah.
That was them done really because I just don't think they've got a lot without them to be honest.
I mean, never lang was an issue.
For Liverpool in the first leg.
But only.
You only made the bench to the obviously gone with more of a defensive minded approach.
But at another point I was going to make.
And I'll give you a good 30 seconds.
If you want to.
And then you can use a bit of your bake well slice.
No pressure.
You know, that's fine.
Don't feel.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no.
And there's your ass.
And we mentioned the other day about Liverpool.
Sometimes not working hard as, you know, not, all right, not covering us much ground as their opponents.
And it was interesting that in slots press conference, France, prior to Ghana Tasseray,
he said that we were almost always outwork our opponents, which was interesting to me
because I'd just written an article for the echo, basically saying that they don't.
And in only four games out of the 30, they've played in the Premier League so far this season,
have they covered more ground than their opponents on Wednesday night.
They covered 120 kilometers, which is the furthest distance they've covered by a mile all season.
And it's a good, I think it's about, I'm with the figures right in front of me now,
but it's at least nine or 10 kilometers more than they've been covering on average in Premier League matches.
Now, I don't know if that's just the case of they were actually, you know, we're going out.
We're going to work really hard here.
Or it was a case of where they were so on top of Ghana Tasseray that the, that, you know,
you know, it's like if people start scoring goals, the goal start going and everyone wants to get involved, don't they?
So I don't know, but, you know, running hard and running long distances isn't everything,
but it did feel like a step in the right direction.
Yeah, it felt what it was supposed, like I said, didn't they have to the game,
that some of the celebrations, I love to fight this when players talk about this sort of stuff.
Some of the celebrations of cars after the first leg, I think, wound up some of the players.
They felt they kind of overselibrated a little bit, winning a first leg 1-0.
And those are the things that stick in players' minds.
So maybe there was an element of we're going to go out there and we're going to work hard.
And I think everyone played their part in that, the crowd played their part in that.
And what I thought was going to be quite a nervy sort of fraught night when I got there.
I thought, I don't know, you know, given everything that's gone on this season and the recent performances and Tottenham in everyone's head with that performance.
And what happened at the end of that?
I think I went in there thinking, oh, this could be, this could be a bit of a drudge.
But as I said, very, very quickly, like, can I actually hang on?
You know, they're much better than cars, that's where I caused that.
So we've just gotten to show it.
And where they have obviously struggled this season, but they haven't shown it in too many matches.
But something about the occasion, something about the, you know, you can call the European stuff if you want.
But there was something about the ingredients about that night just seemed all sort of sort of to all come together and.
And you have to say what threatened to be a difficult night wasn't.
And you saw a little bit, I think of what, as I said before, what slots ideas have been this season, some of the stuff he's tried to do.
It looked like it was there and it and I say some of the conditions, whether it's.
Obviously, the manager talks a lot about playing these Premier League teams who plays in a certain way, the low block, the set pieces.
European sides don't do that so much.
So kind of Liverpool play better against them. It seems so.
But, you know, you can't go into a game to take another position in a play kind of.
So it's maybe, yeah, maybe we've seen why Liverpool are better suited to Europe, to Europe in that game.
But I think ultimately it does come down to that.
That's why we're a bit blown away to be honest by the whole occasion.
And Liverpool just much better than them.
Just on the point about them generally playing better in Europe than they have in the Premier League.
PSG and the next round.
They also are not going to come to defend games, aren't they?
They're going to, they are bigger and much bigger prospect than Galatasaray.
However, they are going to play in an open style, aren't they?
So it will be fascinating to see how Liverpool adapt to play, you know,
playing in a way that's going to be more open that should technically suit them,
but would have put against a higher, higher level.
You give, you give PSG some of the name chances that Galatasaray had in the first leg.
You know, look what they did to Chelsea.
They, they just completely took it away from them, didn't they?
In the sort of latter period of that Paris game.
And then right at the start, I stand for Bridge, but it blew them away.
They need many chances, you know, they've got some brilliant players.
So yeah, it'll be an open game, but you don't want to give them too many chances.
Well, no, it's a really, it's a really good point because if, if Galatasaray were PSG
and Liverpool were played again to PSG in the last 16,
I think they did against Galatasaray in the first leg, they could, they could have been out of it.
Yeah, yeah, it could have been looking at a 3-0 deficit to bring back.
So it's going to be difficult going there.
Of course it is, but there are, yeah, you're right, there are certain elements of the game
you think, well, they're going to have to go.
So, I mean, you just got to think back to last season, which was one of Liverpool's poorest performances,
wasn't it, but there's somewhere I've got away from there with the one no win.
Yeah.
Alison, largely the reason.
And then Harvey Elliott goes and scores right at the end, obviously didn't work out in the second leg,
but you'd, you'd obviously hope it went that way again, at least in the first leg, weren't you?
You would have, do you know what, that second leg was one of the best games I watched from the season?
Yeah.
I could have no complaint.
You could go out on something as fine margin as penalties like that when two teams have played
as well against the zero as that.
It's a shame, but you can have no complaints, I don't think.
We've got a few comments on the YouTube live chat.
Carzy2645, who hopefully hasn't inadvertently just revealed his pin number.
So I feel like people are getting carried away after this win.
We need to be consistent first and foremost.
Let's get the win on Saturday, I think it's fair comment.
He's also wished happy birthday to Ian only 18 years to retirement.
18.
18.
Yeah.
Quite specific.
68.
Is that what you've made the goal post that often?
Seems a little bit.
Yeah.
Seems like that's quite old, isn't it?
Do you think you'll want to go earlier than that, Ian?
Or will he just do this job until he can't function anything?
I think it'll be that.
I think it'll be that.
So I know you're saying 18 years, but I think it really is only 18 years until we can talk about retirement.
67 as we confer.
So that is a year over.
67 didn't know that.
Yeah, I could see him going like that to be just refusing to go fair play.
Unlike me, I'll be off to Spain as quick as I possibly can financially.
Carzy also said, but can Liverpool make it stick or will slot just revert back to same old, same old?
It's a good question.

The Blood Red Podcast from the Liverpool Echo.
It is a good question.
Yeah, I would say there's a chance that he can give given the opposition the playing against like bright and hard.
One of these.
Seriety typical Premier League sides out of this season.
Bright and do play their football.
So there's a chance that maybe.
You know, opposition wise, it might be an ideal one and a welcome to talk about it.
But while it is a difficult game.
It's a game against the team that are probably going to bring it to the ball and that might soon.
And we will come on to that in a minute.
Red Rebellion LFC says this season can't be worse than 22-23 season.
Where we got knocked out of both the lead cup and the FA Cup 4th round.
Got knocked out of the last 16 of the Champions League and failed to qualify.
For the Champions League that season.
He's right.
Yeah.
And that's one way of having your glass half full as opposed.
Well, let's move on to today's presser.
Yep.
So the first and most important thing really is there is no Mahamad Salah.
Yeah.
That's been confirmed.
Mosul injury.
Understand.
Doesn't miss Manny Salah.
Down through his career like all the Liverpool greats.
They rarely get injured.
So he's definitely going to miss this one.
Hopefully back.
Inside the man's city.
Which we got a week off.
Is that right?
Yeah.
It's actually a break after this.
And yeah, slot basically said.
Obviously he's going to miss this one.
He won't go with Egypt, but.
But they hope that he will be back and available for the man's city game after his actual break.
And so what two weeks.
Yeah, it's a blow isn't it?
I mean.
It's funny, you know, you can only have the last few seasons.
This news would perhaps have been taking a bit harder than.
Then it has been today.
But.
But yeah, yeah.
Salah missed a penalty at the week in midweek.
But you look at the quality of the player, the quality of the man.
He responds in a second half.
Assist.
Goal.
And you know, he made.
He made a difference.
He.
He was crucial to how they sort of took that game away from.
Got to ask the right.
So he's going to be a miss.
Of course he is.
It's interesting to see what they do without him, which I know will come to.
But.
To just address him missing.
At first, I'm going to see him to improve getting a few goals against Brighton over the years.
I know he has against everyone, but.
But.
You know.
There'll be a situation way to look on.
Look on the pitch, look on the bench and not have Salah available is clearly.
Clearly a blow clearly, you know, missing one of your premier goal scorers.
So.
It's a shame.
It really is, but it's.
It's.
One that.
There are other solutions out there to for them to cover for his absence.
I think so.
I mean, his goal was classic Salah.
Oh, that's so good.
Yeah.
That's what we have been missing.
Really, you know, I think you can accept if a player's legs aren't what they were.
When you get the wrong side of 30.
And if you look at all clips of Salah and, you know, seem burning off defenders left, right?
And so those those days are pretty much gone now, I think.
But finishing is.
It's something you've always got.
Yeah, and it it just looked.
Yeah, it was it was this sort of stereotypical Salah goal wasn't it feels like we haven't seen one of them for a while.
You know that that that trademark sort of heard into the into the corner.
And even yeah, and yeah, he's not as quick as he once was.
Who others are.
But.
I think what you saw from him in the sixth record, he goes goal as well was was really special.
You know, he takes it.
Yes, he's not moving as quickly as he as he once did, but he's taking up positions.
And and when he's got the ball his feet, there is a quality there.
And he's put a wonderful ball across an SKZ to finish it.
And what I noticed as well, after the goal, you saw SKZ himself.
But also the other players straight up to him celebrating with Salah.
You can imagine Akri's Mr penalty right on half time.
You know, you can we know the standards that Salah has the standard he sets for himself.
He would have been quite a miserable figure.
I'm sure at half time he'd he felt he would have let people down by missing that penalty.
So, you know, to go out there so early in the second half.
And then he had, you know, he had a little hand in in the ground, but goal.
And then obviously he gets his goal.
So yeah, really, really sort of impressive in that burst.
So he'll be a miss.
He will, you know, everything would miss a player of that quality.
But he, as I said, there are ways out there.
Hope to cover for him.
But hopefully it's not as well as a lot of suggested today.
It's not too long of an injury.
And we'll be back for that one, see you again.
Salah seemed to be playing a little bit narrower, which certainly looked by design.
On Wednesday, obviously he's not going to be here against Brighton.
But that obviously allowed Jeremy Flingpan to attack more.
He was played higher up the pitch previously in previous game.
But we're reverting more to a more traditional role this time.
Could you think even with Salah not on the pitch,
do you think that is something that slot may possibly stick with for Brighton?
Keeping Friend Pong at the right back.
He's using Friend Pong at the right back, but having the player in front,
really almost always like a 4-4-2.
Yeah, it's like a mixture between like a 4-4-2 or like a 4-2-2-2,
isn't it?
Yeah.
Think about it with the 2B inverts and so was like just kind of floating around.
Yeah, I'd like to see that.
I think it might be certainly, obviously, there'll be no Salah at the weekend,
but I like it when him and Nikiteke do play quite close together.
I think they are Liverpool's two biggest goal threats.
And you saw the way they linked up for that goal.
It's got a tassar eye.
And yeah, I feel like we often talk about the front three,
because we're still in that Salah Mane, for me, no idea if it needs to be this.
You know, it needs to look like this, because that's what it was four, five years ago,
when it was still in that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like, they're trying to replicate that, but ultimately Liverpool don't have the players
of that profile anymore.
They don't have, they don't have the Firmino sort of number 10 player who,
you know, quite in the way that he did it.
There's obviously a verse, but verse does it in a different way.
They don't have Salah Mane on that left hand side.
They could do with him.
You know, imagine a peak Mane in that, in that side.
And they don't have Salah of five, six years ago.
So it's different.
So there's got to be a way around it.
And what of what's available right now?
I think that is, that is a good way of, of going about it.
What in terms of what they do without Salah,
I think you might see in a, I wouldn't be surprised if they do try it again,
with, with their CK and another.
I mean, like, verse could do it, I think.
Like, Jack Pog could do it, to an extent.
Really, there's, there's Real Angamoa who we've seen was interesting when he came on against Spurs,
wasn't it? He was a bit more central.
So there are other players there to do it, I think.
And while it might not be, maybe it's not slots sort of perfect idea at the start of the season,
but we're in a situation now, I never thought we're trying to get results
to, to come in the top five, trying to get results to,
to progress in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
And, it's kind of needs must.
And so, you, you get your players on the pitch who can do the business.
And, I think, given that it went so well against Galatasaray
and given that they're playing against the side, this is the key.
I think they're playing against the side, you will want to play.
But, but I mean, it's low as a manager.
He's quite ambitious, isn't he?
And he comes across like that.
But he was someone, he was, he was being really critical as well.
I know slot has and slots being very vocal about the standard of the league and everything else.
And the style of football, but I've seen it, it's the same, the same thing.
And he was talking about Arsenal and, and this style of play and things like that.
So, he pride himself on his team's football.
So, it might be a case of, you know what?
I, he might be thinking, I back my team to take Liverpool on.
And Liverpool might think, go on then.
And, and we'll see, and it could be, could make for good game.
It could do, yeah, I think you're right.
Just looking a little bit further ahead, as Red Red Belliness put on the chat.
Could that ease back after the international break?
Obviously, another very important option up front.
And one that's going to suit narrower forwards, obviously.
So, that, that's something to consider.
Dominic Subosly excelled in midfield on Wednesday.
A little bit irked in his press conference, shall we say,
about questions about and being deployed as a right back.
I don't think there's anything wrong with those questions to be honest with you.
The other day, he had Joe Gomez and Jeremy Fringpal on the pitch,
but played Subosly at right back.
So, I'm much quite sure why.
But, I think the point he was trying to make, though,
is that when he plays Subosly in that position,
because he believes it's for the benefit of the team.
But there is no question that when he's playing in midfield,
he's bringing so much more energy to that part of the pitch,
that Liverpool have been lacking in so much this season.
Yeah, he's so crucial there.
And at a time when other players
particularly in midfield,
looking at McAllister and looking at Gravenburg,
having hit the heights of last season,
Liverpool are fortunate that they've got someone who has actually improved on the last season,
and looks, you know, whilst he was a very important player,
wasn't he, in the title winning side last year,
you weren't saying the sort of things that have been said about him this season,
about him being a sort of driving force and the energy and other things.
He was that, but you also felt well,
they're getting the goals from Salah, they're getting the kind of wide play
from the likes of Diaz and Gakpo,
they're getting the defensive side of the game,
was right, Gravenburg was so good in front of the back four,
McAllister was having a good season.
This time around, it's felt at times like Subosly has been doing it by himself,
but he's that type of player.
He's going to run around, he's going to do the energy,
he's going to put the energy in and so,
I have perhaps been a little bit more understanding of the right back thing,
as perhaps others, I think Liverpool played for years with Trent there,
and there was a, he was so good at creating chances,
crossing things like that.
You know, Subosly can do that,
so whether or not there's an attempt to replicate some of that stuff by playing in there,
but it's no doubt, you lose so much from the middle of the park when he's not there,
and he was exceptional, wasn't he against Gata,
right, and you know, really, really sort of stamped his mark on the game
and got the opening goal, which was so important,
and it kind of opened foot gates, didn't it?
It did.

The blood red podcast from the Liverpool Echo.
Slot was asked about his contract,
or the possibility of signing a new contract.
Pretty coy on that.
Didn't want to answer that question.
Two ways of me looking at that really.
One, he could have just come out and said,
I've got a contract at Liverpool.
I want to be here for many years to come.
But we don't talk about contracts.
And that's absolutely fine.
Didn't really do that.
He just said we don't talk about contracts.
Which kind of leads me to just think that he's aware that things are still very much
up in the balance as to how the summer could go for him.
And possibly that a lot of it still is yet to be settled.
Yeah.
And I've said it before.
I think so much of it depends on on Champions League qualification for the next season.
I find it really difficult to imagine a summer
if they haven't got Champions League where there aren't daily questions about him
and screwed to the on him.
And I think if they don't get Champions League any sort of
proclamation or any sort of sort of statement he made about looking to the future
and we're going to do this,
I think it just comes across as a bit of hollows like we really haven't.
At a time when so many English sides do qualify for the Champions League,
they get in it through various ways.
I think it would be.
It would be damaging.
I think from Liverpool to not being it.
And I think for him.
It would be very difficult as I say to imagine him taking Liverpool forward.
So yeah, I mean, you're right.
I mean, sometimes slotting press conferences is a bit of a bit of his own worst enemy
because he he's just very honest, isn't he?
He just he just comes out and says very honest and it's a very blunt answer to questions.
Other managers have kind of made careers out of not saying anything in press conferences.
This is the Dutch way, isn't it?
Yeah.
And so, you know, you can imagine other managers
being being faced with that question and just saying, you know, exactly what you say there.
Oh, I love, you know, I love being at the club.
I'd love to stay discussions on it.
And, you know, it's not, we don't discuss that in press conferences.
The way he said it was a bit, it was very him.
And given everything that's going on,
it does sort of make you think about about the future.
And, you know, there's a lot of things going on in Liverpool at the background at the minute.
You know, he's the stories around today about FSG
and their sort of outlook on things at the moment.
The idea of the multi club ownership,
which was a huge thing they were talking about 18 months ago.
There's been stories about Richard Hughes' future.
Richard Hughes obviously has, at the end of this season,
one year left on his contract, same slot.
They both sort of came in together, didn't they?
So, you know, can you have one without the other?
Can you, are they tied together?
So, there is a lot of uncertainty,
but I do think, I do think the Champions League
and the money, let's be honest, the money that comes with it,
is a large part of that.
Carly asks, I wonder how happy Slut is,
given how much he's talked about, how bored he is with the league.
Yeah, I think, I wouldn't worry too much about that,
but I think it's more about the pressure on his own position, isn't it?
I understand him not wanting to talk about his contract.
I think he is under pressure at the moment.
What did you make of his touchline behaviour?
It was different.
More animation.
Well, like a lot of things this season,
he seems to have, I don't want to say abandoned principles,
but changed.
Lots of things have changed.
Change formations.
He's got to change the team a lot.
He's got to change the tactics a lot.
Now his own demeanor on the lines changed.
Maybe it's just for a match.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Maybe he wanted to get the crowd going himself
and was looked at his predecessor
and told the team to be the same.
Yeah, which is interesting, isn't it?
Because so much of the stuff that was said about him last year,
last season, when he came in to replace Klopp,
it was like, well, he's his own man.
And entirely correctly, he came in, he did things his own way.
I don't think if somebody would have come in,
you know, and would have started by ranting and raving
and jumping about on the touch line
and doing everything else in that Klopp manner,
I think it would have just felt like,
oh, you just try to be Klopp.
And especially if that's not his own person,
because he has to be true to himself, doesn't it?
Yeah.
So as the person who followed Klopp,
I think he has, he still is.
He's played it perfectly, you know,
in terms of being his own man.
The thing that you can throw him a little bit is, you know,
the style of football.
And, you know, it was easy.
You've mentioned it a couple of times,
and it's difficult to maybe sort of fall in love
with the team, the way they're playing, the football they play.
It was easy to do it with Klopp's teams
because of the way they played.
Yeah.
So with slot teams, you're perhaps supposed to sort of sit back
and admire the football a bit more and, you know, this.
And, you know, we did.
They won the Premier League by a country mile, you know,
so that everything that he achieved last season of course
makes him worthy of, you know, cracking on with the job.
It's just there are, and there have been so many things around this season
that just haven't felt right and haven't felt like things are progressing.
And, and it's been entirely correct that he's faced questions.
But, you know, you look at, you look,
of course, we're talking about Gartassa, right?
But you go back before that to Tottenham and, you know,
it was just a dreadful, dreadful performance, wasn't it?
So, you know, until these things are eradicated consistently
and the team are performing in a way that they're supposed to,
let's be honest.
Then he is going to face those questions.
And I think he has come across as a bit techy at times,
doesn't he? He's come across like he's feeling the pressure,
which I think he is.
So, the only way to respond is on the pitch,
and they did it on Wednesday,
and there's fruits of the last eight of the Champions League,
where, you know, they should be thinking about going further
in that competition because that's what they're there for,
that's what they're in it for.
FA Cup is the same.
Yes, they're daunting draws,
but just go and take it on, because this,
as mad as it sounds, this season can still be a very good one.
Of course it can. Of course it can.
You know, they're into the quarter finals of the Champions League,
which is a good achievement for any team.
You're in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
They've got tough games coming up.
If you get to that stage of those competitions,
there's a good chance, particularly in the Champions League.
There's a good chance that you're going to compete against
a massive opponent, a very difficult opponent,
but that from the Champions League perspective, they're the games.
I always say they're the games you want.
You know, you might not get a ticket for the final,
because there's not that many tickets,
or 17,000 tickets,
but you might get a ticket for the quarter final,
or 17,000 and watch a classic game against Paris Saint-Germain,
or Real Madrid, or, you know, whoever.
So I don't have a problem with playing bigger teams
before you reach a final and stuff like that,
just for an easier route.
And you've got that, I'm a field factor.
You know, arguably,
is it easier to play Real Madrid over two legs,
one of which is an I'm field, than it is in a final,
where they're so good at winning those one-off occasions
as Liverpool have found out, you know.
So you've got that coming for you.
So, yeah, it's exciting.
And also, the atmosphere hasn't been brewing out
on field this season.
It was markedly better against Galatasaritan.
And people, though, including the players on the manager
will be thinking, I want a little bit more of that.
Oh, it's going to be good against PSG as well.
Yeah.
You know, providing nothing goes probably wrong
will be in the first leg, but you know already
that's going to be there.
That the atmosphere will be there for the home leg.
So, get out of Paris with something, you know,
if it's a one-goal defeat,
it's a draw, whatever.
Get out of Paris with something that you can bring to
I'm fielding, and really make it a special night.

The blood red podcast from the Liverpool Echo.
The best thing about that as well is,
by the time that match takes place,
the clock has changed.
Gone forward?
Did it go forward?
Or back?
Yes.
They move.
I don't know which way they get.
They move.
You love that light.
It's light.
It kicks off.
It's light.
It's light.
It's light.
It was nice.
It was warm.
Yeah.
It was dark by kick off.
But once you get to the quarters and the semis,
business ends.
It's light on an evening kick off.
I love that.
That's proper European setting.
And I'm excited about that.
But before we get to that,
it's Brighton.
On Saturday.
Now, in Liverpool,
have already played Brighton twice this season.
They've played them in the FA Cup and beaten three.
No.
And they've played them in the Premier League and beaten them two.
No.
So they haven't even conceded the goal against Brighton.
Water tight.
Let's defend tomorrow.
I don't know what everyone's worried about.
Yeah.
And I don't know what it's for certain.
It's just off the top of my head.
But it felt like,
and you might be able to get in front of it.
It felt like the Brighton team that played
in the FA Cup game was completely different
to the one that played in the league game.
They go through a lot of players,
and they seem to have a lot of different names
that pop up from somewhere,
that you've either even played for them or whatever.
Yeah.
So it might be a different team again.
You know, it might be a...
Brighton or funny side, aren't they?
They've obviously done well to...
I mean, they come up and then they do not come back down again.
You know, they're...
They're a bit of an...
They're a very well-run.
Yeah.
Is it Tony Bloom?
Yes.
The manager.
The clever bloke.
Yeah.
And, you know, the...
The model that they've adopted there
with the players they've brought through.
You know, we'll have one of them in Alexis McAllister.
You look at Kaysado and Chelsea.
You know, these players that have brought through
are, you know, clearly,
clearly excellent players.
And then they sell them all for a good profit
and then they get the next one.
And that, all while at the same time,
having older professionals there,
James Milner, Danny Welbeck.
They had a lot of for a bit, didn't they?
Lewis Dunn has been there for years.
They seem to have this mixture of players
between the kind of older new.
And the likes of Milner and the likes of Welbeck,
you know, really good professionals.
And you imagine a set in the dressing room culture there.
So, yeah, they're well-run.
And they've always got to play.
They've always got someone who, who,
particularly enough, that there's, like,
mintor on the wings of good player,
meto, as a good player.
You know, there's always players around
who you need to watch.
And any game there is a difficult task.
You think, when you have to deserve it,
there was really good sort of tactical battles
that went on.
So, it's going to be tricky.
It will be.
But, as I say, I think the one thing
that I think I might come from,
is it'll be a good, pretty good game.
Yeah, one of the, by the way,
they're the most symmetrical record in the league,
imaginable.
They play 30, 110, draw 10, a lot of 10.
Yeah.
For the only thing that puts out,
there's four with 39 against 36.
So, if you're 10 to nine,
the other way around.
Yeah, yeah.
Perfect.
We can't do that.
No.
It's an early kickoff.
A lunchtime kickoff.
Liverpool don't really like those.
Do they, and...
Sluts a little bit of a known about...
Yeah.
The first time he's done it, isn't it?
Yeah.
The first time he's done it, I think,
somebody had a way with him when he came in,
I reckon, and said, you know,
club used to go on with this all the time.
And no one really liked it.
Knocked it on the ad.
Yeah.
Because I think it maybe got in the players' heads,
because the players had a bad record in them.
And, you know, if you've...
And it's a little bit...
We've said it this season as well.
You know, if Slots spent...
Slots spent his time going on about
set pieces and low blocks.
Well, team...
Players are going to get that in the heads,
oh, we can't deal with these.
And it's the same...
I used to think it was the same thing.
And then, club would talk about the early kickoff,
and so they're getting the players' heads.
So, yeah, it's on a little...
I think that his...
Well, the crux of his thing was...
It was all quite condensed, wasn't it,
from the end of Spurs,
into Galatasaray, into Brighton,
is sort of like Sunday, Wednesday,
Saturday, isn't it?
And then, not only Saturday,
but Saturday with a long trek down south.
So, he's got a point there, probably.
But I think it's...
Ultimately, it's...
It's a game that...
You know, once it kicks off,
of course, should be...
Should be famous to win it.
And...
And, yeah, I keep going back to it,
but I think it'll be a good open game of football,
and that will...
That should play into their advantage.
I think it'll be...
It'll be a good test, but...
I think it's one they can come through, definitely.
Barry McLaughlin asks, do we expect...
He's asked to make any meaningful contribution...
Before the season ends,
or will the club plan its comeback for the summer?
I think he's probably going to play a pass, isn't he?
They need him.
Yeah, I think they need him.
I'd be surprised if it was...
Anytime soon.
I think you're probably still looking at...
Once they're back after the internationals,
and then, you know, there's a lot of games out there.
Kind of into April.
I think you might see him mid to late April, maybe.
But, how much...
You know, how much up to speed he is.
I mean, it feels like we've spent all season talking about him being up to speed, isn't it?
Well, yeah.
You know, and it never quite happened, didn't we?
I think all the way back to those last international breaks in the first half of the season.
And he was like, OK, this international break, he'll go away with Sweden, he'll get fit,
and then he'll come back,
and he just never quite happened, didn't it?
But, he's the biggest...
You've got to say it's been disappointing his season, isn't it?
But, he's the biggest one that I think can make the change.
If we're talking about this front two idea,
or this idea of two sort of playing quite close together,
it's fixing with him, doesn't it?
You know, he can play that.
And he can make a difference.
I do think, given the fitness issues we've seen within this season,
I'd be surprised if he made much of a difference between now and the end of this season,
but if it's a big F, but they need to get a good preseason into him,
because he can make a big difference, I think next season.
Yeah, so I think expectations have got to be reigned into what he can achieve.
It's basically the bonus, doesn't it?
Yeah.
Whatever happens with him?
I think so, but one thing I would say is,
it's pretty good in the air,
and with the way that the Premier League has gone this season,
even if you're not fully fit,
you could contribute air really in a way that may have been decadent.
Yeah.
And other players around him,
so that there could be something in that,
but we'll have to wait and see on that.
Liverpool, after all, you know,
the nice things that were said about him on Wednesday,
I've got one point from the last six against Wolves,
and Tottenham, to one team that's definitely getting relegated,
and one that is flirting with it,
rather pericely, closely.
So the importance of actually getting a result here,
is massive.
Yeah.
It's because, where are we?
So like United's, I've got, what,
a five point lead on Liverpool,
which, you know, early.
It could be eight,
but I kick over the plate tonight.
Who's he got tonight?
Bournemouth away tonight.
Okay.
Not, could go either way,
but yeah, they could have a massive lead.
So that heaps a bit more pressure on.
Aston Villa obviously played last night, didn't they?
Yeah.
So I've got Westam, I think.
I think, you know, I've looked at that.
I've got Westam and Chelsea have got everything away.
So, you know, difficult, difficult game for Chelsea,
and United, difficult game as well.
Villa, you might say,
just sort of favourites to win out of those three,
but still Westam,
I've kind of turned a little bit of a corner,
playing a bit better football.
My point is that,
and I keep saying it,
when you are challenging for this top five,
everyone drops points.
You know, I think,
you would not be surprised if two,
or those three, they drop points this weekend, would you?
No.
And what Liverpool haven't been doing is picking them up themselves,
because they're part of this gang now.
Yeah.
That's exactly it.
They've been sucked in with this lot,
who, at the start of the season,
we were all thinking,
they're not Liverpool's business.
It's all about City and about Arsenal.
But they've been sucked in with this gang.
This, this, this, this, this, this, Ravel.
Yeah.
Not, not our problem,
but Chelsea's manager has already,
coming under, I wonder.
What's he saying now?
Pressure.
Well, nothing, nothing new.
Well, you don't know already.
He's making notes in the 82nd minute,
when he's getting battered.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And tell him as to respect the ball,
and all kinds of David Brent stuff.
So, you know, but, you know,
of course, Liverpool want those problems to be around
other teams, so we can sort of try and get their heads down
and try and get some form together,
because I am also,
of the opinion, like,
Carsey,
but there's no point getting carried away
with a nice result on way.
They need to go and do it.
Do it at Brighton.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Of course you do.
But,
and I just think they've passed up opportunities
in these last few weeks to pull away from these sides.
Chelsea and, you know,
Villa were in free fall.
Wouldn't they, Chelsea are a bit of a,
a basket case of a football team.
Man United.
They've had this upturn
largely because they only play one game of football a week.
And they can, you know, they can,
I think there are a lot of players who are benefiting from that.
I think, I think,
whenever Carrick's drop points is when they've had to play
midweek matches.
I think I read something earlier today
that they've only got two games.
Yeah, they don't play football anymore.
Yeah, they're not.
Two games over the same period,
that level of playing eight.
Yeah.
That can't be right, isn't it?
It's something like that.
It might have been.
What?
Yeah, I'm not quite sure how it's allowed to happen.
Someone needs to alert the authorities about this.
I don't know what's going on.
Yeah, I've, I've not double checked.
Yeah.
I'm not going to play football,
but they get given points.
I'm not sure what's, what's happens.
But they've got this well-rested squad
and they're, you know,
they're a players within that Cassie Miro's one,
isn't it?
Who asked him to play two, three games a week?
Is Legs fall off?
Ask him to play one,
and he'll play very well.
Yeah.
Bruno Fander is to an extent.
There's been very good this season.
I think that's, that's one of the reasons as well.
He's been fantastic for them.
But,
I think the others,
well, Chelsea are out now,
but, you know, Villa was still going in Europe,
so they found it a bit more difficult.
But no, I think
as I keep going back to it,
all these teams have dropped points,
and you, you can almost say,
you pretty much guaranteed at least one will this weekend,
maybe more.
It's up to Liverpool to not be that,
because they have been that in the last few weeks.

Thomas Tuchal released his World Cup Squat.
No, everyone knows World Cup Squat is an international squad
which is normally a good indication of the World Cup Squat.
It's massive, don't it?
Yeah, either unit.
I was not in it.
No, I told them I'm in Japan.
I'm in the games of being playing a car.
But there are also no Liverpool players, isn't it?
At all.
And there may not be any Liverpool players in it
when he goes to the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Yeah, I thought you'd not really,
and that's Curtis Jones makes a late run.
Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez.
Joe Gomez.
Can't see him going to be late in office.
There are others ahead of him, aren't they?
Yeah.
There are loads of players ahead of them in the queue, you'd say.
Quants are in there, isn't he?
Quants.
Kind of a Liverpool player on the slide,
because I've been spices they've gotten back.
Jordan Anderson's in there, aren't we?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Do you remember him?
Yeah, do.
Yeah, he wasn't even able to be washed up about four years ago.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's it.
Yeah, that's too slow, but apparently, no, that's fine.
He's in there.
No trend though.
Yeah, I mean, that's a blow, isn't it, for him?
Yeah.
You'd be surprised now if he gets in from missing the last squad
before the World Cup.
I'm surprised about that, to be honest, I think.
I actually, to be honest.
You know, he's such a quality player,
and you know, we can all jog to side, obviously,
with the Manoray left Liverpool, but
you know, there aren't many of him around.
And if you've got one in your squad of 30-35 players,
surely he's worth a slot in 35 players, isn't he?
Like, I found that a bit strange.
You were the fort, so, because even,
if he's not, even if he wasn't starting games,
or right back, the fact that he can come on him.
Set pieces.
Yeah, all those type of things.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, not our problem, I'm afraid.
Nope.
Because he's left.
Okay.
If he doesn't make the World Cup squad,
and he wants to keep in touch with his colleagues who did,
when they're in America, be quite expensive to send text messages.
However, if he did have an assailant eSIM,
those that do make the squad, could message him back in Spain,
or wherever he is in the summer.
Sailing just happens to be a sponsor of the Bloodrad podcast.
Some of the benefits of sailing include save money,
or eliminate roaming fees with affordable eSIM data plans,
in over 200 destinations, built in cybersecurity features,
and you can switch your virtual location to back homes,
so you can access content from back home as well.
No more international sims needed.
What more do you want?
For the benefits and more information,
download the Sailing app in the App Store,
and you will find a promo code, I believe,
in the description box on this very podcast.
So, if you are going abroad, as I am next week,
I'll get yourself a Sailing eSIM, because I know I am.
Okay.
Okay.
Let's sort of wrap up then,
we're picking our teams for Brighton tomorrow.
No salary, as we know, and Gomez only good enough
for the bench at best from what we can gather from Arne Slot.
So, I assume, Alison in goal, as he appears to have got over
whatever was bothering him the other week.
So, Alison in goal, what sort of defence are you thinking, Mark?
Well, Slot did drop a little hint about Frimpong in there, didn't he?
Talking about how his add to sort of manage him,
his fitness, going back from his injuries, his add.
But he's talking off after an hour, the other night.
So, I think he'll still start.
So, I go with the same back for the play of the night.
So, Frimpong right back.
Kirk has left back here, we haven't mentioned,
he was brilliant, wasn't he?
That's the best performance I think I've seen him from him.
He was superb, yeah.
He wants to go over my nine.
Did he?
I thought he played well,
maybe I'm just such a pessimist.
I just didn't think he was that good, but...
He was good.
Tell me what you liked about him.
Actually, I thought he set the tone early on.
He made a real, there was an early kind of challenge he made,
and the crowd got up, and he was straight away.
When he's on it, you can see exactly the qualities he brings,
you know, he's quick.
He joins the attack really well.
I thought he was always an outlet, with Vert on that side.
And he just looked dangerous, going forward,
he looked like he...
Maybe it was because he never was defending to do.
Maybe also really, you know, that might be a thing,
but no, I was really a pessimist.
And I thought he offered a real sort of dynamism,
and he down that left-hand side,
that ultimately he was brought forward with me.
So, I'm sticking with him,
and then he sends a backspin die in Canarty.
Yeah, well young, got any of us.
No, so he'll have to pick them.
Yeah, I don't think Kirk has played,
I did think he played well,
and he deserves to keep his place in my side,
not that I pick it.
But, yeah, I just want to see him getting around the back more
and get more crosses,
and that's the only thing,
he's just like pulled back a lot on them,
but, okay, fair enough.
Yeah, Frimpong and I write back,
Canarty Van Dyke, guys, same team, effectively.
Now, this is where things get interesting,
because you've already hinted
that the abolishments of the 4-3-3 in a way,
and there's also...
How do you want the two?
Do you want the backdoor and all the two?
I'll take it one from the top, Carol,
and five of your own choice.
No, however you want to lay out.
So, yeah, I'm going with the sort of overtuse,
and Gravenberg's in.
McAllister is someone I've been critical of,
but, I think, back to his old team, played well,
you have a night.
There's clearly something going on with Kurtz Jones,
doesn't there?
I wonder if there's...
Yeah, there's people looking to pick him.
It's my team, so I'm going to pick who I want, but...
Just a point on that.
Kurtz Jones would have wanted to be in that England team,
but he's never really kicked up a fuss
about the fact that his game time
is dropped not publicly anyway.
So, it does make you wonder
as something gone on there.
Yeah, he's always...
Maybe he sort of pays the price for...
He's kind of a really useful sub, isn't he?
12, because he can play different positions.
And keeps the ball up.
He keeps the ball so well, yeah,
so you can almost have an argument for...
Well, he's the player to bring on when you won the look,
because, you know, he'll keep possession
and he'll recycle the ball and things like that.
So, he might...
That might be almost a problem to start him.
But, no, I think...
I'll stick with my callister, because, as I say,
I've been critical of him all season,
but he...
He played well, I thought,
you have a night,
and going back to Brighton,
he's going to want to put on a performance.
So, I'll have him and him,
grab him because of the two,
and then do you want the other two?
Do you want...
Yeah.
I mean, it's...
It's actually probably the first call
off the left, suppose.
Like, going off the right.
Okay.
I've done something a bit different.
Oh, here we go.
Okay.
This is really...
Sort of...
It looks like a 4-4-2.
I've written it down.
I can 4-4-2.
Very Mike Bassis.
But...
Back of the fact...
Benson edges are in.
It could sort of play like...
the...
the 2-2-2,
as appears to be preferred these days,
not sure if I like that.
But...
I've got Grumberg and...
McAllister in the middle.
I've got Sabazly on the right.
And I've got Inga Moa on the left.
Okay.
Okay.
So, it's quite...
attacking.
My thinking is that Sabazly
will probably talk in more.
He's not really going to go out the flank that much.
But I think he can link up with...
Frimpunk.
Who knows maybe we might be able to form...
a...
a sort of...
duo...
with those two.
I don't know.
But...
Frimpunk getting forward, I think, is going to be key.
But you've still got that sort of midfield...
solidity.
And...
I just think...
Inga Moa didn't play the other night.
So, why not?
Should I come in here for a bit?
To be honest with you.
And then in front of them...
I've got Vert's...
hovering about...
supporting Akateke.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I don't like Vert's outweighed.
I don't like him.
I mean, he almost...
He plays anywhere, doesn't he?
You put him in the team.
Yeah.
A couple of times on Wednesday where he was popping up in all sorts of places.
And...
And he's obviously given the license to do that.
So, maybe we get a bit too fixated on where they are on the...
graphic before a game.
You know, like...
Probably.
And he...
And he plays anywhere.
So...
Yeah, I can see your point though.
I can see...
And that...
That team there...
You know, you've written it down in a certain way.
But it can't shift.
Can't it in loads of different ways that side?
Yeah.
The only thing to say is, well, I'm Vert's...
I'm a big Vert's fan.
I don't think he's being brilliant.
You're right there.
Sorry.
I've been a bit of a mess around with the...
In the back there.
I will.
But yeah, Vert's...
A big fan of Vert's...
Not being brilliant the last few games.
No, I didn't.
What would say one thing?
Far bit from me to tell 160 million pound footballer...
What he should do on a football pitch.
But get a shot off.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
You come here with a good record from...
Yeah.
From the bottom.
He was good.
He...
He spurs game was a bit anonymous, wasn't he?
And what was the one before that?
I forget.
But he...
That's all forget.
Probably one of the wolves ones.
There's always been wolves, isn't it?
And I was going to have to ask right away, of course it was.
He seemed to take a little while to sort of get warmed up.
I had to last injuries.
I had...
I thought he was really good first half against Gotta.
That's all right.
And then a bit in the second half as well.
And ultimately he...
You know, you want him in the team, don't you?
Oh, 100%.
You know, you want him in the team kind of regardless of where it is.
So I'm picking him.
And then we attack sort of the two.
Our EKTK.
And then this is probably the one that I'm going to be a battered for.
But I'd probably pick Gakpo in that other role, which...
Yes, it's on paper.
It's replacing Salah.
But I don't think it is.
I don't...
I don't think it's replacing Salah in...
In the way that Salah would play that role.
Right.
That makes sense.
Is that because he's probably going to be...
Within the width of the goalposts.
Yeah.
Exactly, yeah.
More as a two.
And it's going to be this fluid system where, you know,
virtual pop-up there.
Suppose I'll pop-up there.
So I'm just picking him because I don't really...
Ungamoa is the other one, I suppose.
But, you know, he can always come on for half an hour.
So I've got a Gakpo.
Fair enough.
That's every predictions of...
As a saying, it's going to be a good game.
So, you know, Liverpool got there.
Got the shooting boots on in midweek.
So I'm going to go with a...
3-1 win for Liverpool.
There you go.
Entertaining for a lunchtime.
Yeah.
Isn't it?
Wow.
I would like to be that positive.
But every time I've been positive, they've let me down.
So...
And this is a bit of a reverse psychology.
So I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw.
Okay.
And hopefully, on Monday, I can sit here and say,
they've proved me wrong.
I hope so.
Okay.
All right.
So hopefully Liverpool can do the business on Saturday.
That does bring us to the end of today's live edition
of the Bloodred Podcast.

Doyle.
Done it.
