The Mamdani administration is saying they want to bring the street's master plan back to life
after failures by Eric Adams to do so.
We would love to see a real budgetary and political commitment to transform the streets of New York City.
That'll be reflected in the budget that the council and the mayor agreed to.
Ben furnace of transportation alternatives will join other advocates for this rally before the council hearing this morning,
demanding the DOT build out these bike and bus lanes.
He says the money has to be there.
We want to see real resources dedicated to this.
We want to see DOT empowered to do these great and important street changes that New York families deserve.
And exactly how the DOT can catch up on the project is what advocates hope to hear at this council meeting.

The NYPD out with the latest crime stats and appears to be mixed news.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tish saying January and February saw an all-time low in shootings and murders on record for the first two months of a year.
There's also been an 8% drop in overall crime.
At the same time, crime in the subways is up by a lot.
18.5% that is 30 more incidents than the same two months of 2025.
The NYPD says that was felony assaults and nonviolent grand larcenies.
And they say it was likely due to the cold weather forcing more of the homeless and mentally ill to seek shelter undergrounds.
There was a stabbing in the subway in Queens yesterday, a woman at a finger-slashed while trying to defend another woman who was stabbed in the back.
That was during an argument with two others on an 8-trained at the Rockaway Boulevard station, so far no arrests.
It was two weeks ago that Manhattan resident Gabriella Fussner's dog, a sharp-pay named APA, ran off.

The victim taken a Lincoln hospital and is stable, charges against the 11-year-old are pending.
Meantime one parent tells the Daily News, as of last night, they had yet to be officially notified by the principal that this happened.
