It's fall in Jeep country. And during the drive into fall sales event, get a great deal on four by fours that refuse to be contained, like Jeep Wrangler, confidence built into every drive with the most awarded SUV ever, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and freedom that can't be denied with the open air freedom and Jeep gladiator. After 85 years, it's no surprise that Jeep became America's SUV brand. Get a great deal during the Jeep drive into fall sales event. Jeep is one more awards over its lifetime than any other SUV brand, Jeep and the Jeep Grill or Registered Trademarks of FCA, US LLC. What I've do is welcome on in all three of you that are paying attention right now. If you are, you are an absolute psychos, psychotic fan. We appreciate you more than you know if somebody joins in here and jumps in. But we stayed up because SMU and FSU were finishing up. So it's almost one in the morning, no big deal. Because we had a lighting delay, another, or I'm sorry, not a lighting delay, a power outage. Full to state, you know, NIL is a different world. They forgot to pay their power bill. So, you know, the power went out.
Pre-game speeches were already given by the way. Everybody ready to rock and roll, coin toss. SMU won the toss. They're gonna get the ball and nope. Power goes out. They come back out a couple hours later. So that was at 729. 920, they come back out to start the game and no replay, no clock, no scoreboard, no helmet communication. And it kinda looked like the game. And by the way, I see in the chat, tie beard and canes cat. I mean, whatever, you guys rock. Brian, I see you dudes, y'all, y'all have no life just like us. And we appreciate the heck out of you guys for jumping in. So anyways, come back in. And lastly, my favorite quote, he said was, we haven't practiced without a coach, you know, our coach and player comms for two years. So, what could possibly go wrong? It was a sloppy as piss game. Extremely weird because, you know, SMU just dominated.
Almost 600 yards. Florida State didn't convert a third down until four minutes into the fourth quarter. Yes, you heard that right. Had like 40 yards, or 60 yards passing up in this point. Extremely one sided. But this is why we gave Florida State a chance in this football game. We talked about it. Why do we give them a chance? Because it was game two. Because they were at home. SMU looked like it was game one for them. I mean, it was absolutely, they had, oh, Lee, three turnovers, a fumble in the red, a pick they threw in the in zone, a muff punt, a missed field goal, a jumped off sides on a field goal. And gave the FSU another one to be able to another opportunity to go punch it in for seven. Next thing you know, you look up and a couple big plays later. It's 24 to 24. It's interesting. I had a buddy text me during the game. They're like, Kevin Jennings just isn't him, Brent. He said, Kevin Jennings just, he's not very good.
I just don't like him. I'm like, you do realize he's got over 500 yards of offense, right? He's he's doing pretty good. I think you say that because you watch. You watch Kevin Jennings, you watch this offense. Most of it's unscripted. He doesn't do a lot of putting his back foot in the ground, throwing, you know, on time. SMU did not run the football great. It was a question mark about their backs, not their offensive line. Didn't see a ton of holes. I thought they would kind of gash them more than they did. But it was Jennings time and time again, making plays through the air, hanging in there against a blitz, you know, scrambling around hitting Randy Pittman, Jr., by the way, full of state, I might have wished they had Randy Pittman, Jr., who left there and all the sudden turns into, you know, Dick Buck is over there making plays. But, but anyways, Kevin Jennings just gives you that flavor sometimes, that like, I could, I could see so much more. I want, I want to see more. He misses the throat of the flats and then scrambles and throws a touchdown, but it's kind of him.
On the one you said, the blitz, the third down, they blitz, and he knows he's taking it on the chin. And he got it smith kid. Just alright. Miss attack, a Miss attack, a house call. But yeah, when they're rolling on the first drive and then they get the penalty and then the fumble and the jet sweep, miss the field goal and an interception and go to go, the goal to go situation. They must have won. That wasn't on Jennings by the way. Yeah, I heard him say that. What do you think about that tornado kick, by the way, for the, the FSU punter? That's our purpose. He kicks it like that to give it four rolls. So they have to pick it up and it worked hard. I mean, they also had an offside on a field roll gave a, it gave Florida state another first down. And, oh, there was all kinds of just absolute ugly. But it's game, it's game one for them. Yes, it's, it's getting in Florida state. Look better. Dude, no helmet comes. Yes, you know what's crazy, man?
That Chroma, he's a man. Like he always falls forward. He picks his feet up when he runs. It was, I mean, he really does an unbelievable job running the football. Singled in junior does as well. Daniels did it enough. But man, you got your own fans booing you. I mean, your own fans was booing you consistently. Like, every time they, they ran the football, it was like again, again, at one point they had ran the football like 47 times to 11 passes. And the, and why, here's the thing then. Why are you throwing, why are you paying loose Robinson all that money? Like throw them the frickin football. He got the one PI down the field. He lost the one battle, the 50-50 battle he had just shot in the end zone. But surely you got to take some shots to him, right? I mean, it would feel like, formationally and design where it'd be like, okay, I'm going to do whatever I can to get that guy one on one, whether it's literally putting everybody on the field away from him, make them double him,
make them do something to where, if he's in any way one on one, just tell the kid to throw it to him. Because that's the, that's the chance. That's the chance that you have in the throw game with him. But, but Chroma, you mentioned his ability at that, because he's like what, 6162 ish, and really, and big, and very thick, and the quick cuts that he makes, like on the long run where I was just, get through the trash, get through the trash, put in the ground cut and then go. I'm not sure how they called him out of bounds at the 30. He wasn't close to stepping out. That was absolutely stupid. Replay might have helped, but that wasn't the thing at that time, I don't think. I mean, at least they got the game in. They got the game in. They got the game in. They're not going to play it tomorrow, like both these teams play Saturday, right? If I was, if I was for a state, at some point, I would have just pulled the power plug and kept it off. Clumps and kind of wishes they could do that too. Clumps and shit on that day of the night. The best one, the best tweet I saw, and there were many, like one was like, they power outage thing and it was like one person affected.
It was the Florida State Stadium. The other was broke Campbell Stadium instead of dope. That was pretty solid as well. So a lot of good fun within that as well. Yeah, that was better than the football. The big thing, long term for this, the ACC needs SMU to win this game. Because they need the Louisville game to be meaningful, or you have to wear one of them, you know, my only have at least one ACC loss. But it's, if you're, I guess the, can you get two in the playoff if you're the ACC? It's going to be tough with the way Miami is and the way Miami looked this weekend. And you got to get somebody that's going to win the conference and beat them or it's probably just with the one team. Because I don't know that I see anybody. It's a safe bet. It's a safe bet to say one usually.
Yes. All right, I don't know how we're going to do this next part. We're going to do the playoffs, but appreciate rowback too, man. They're one of our better sponsors. We've had them, you know, we had them last year. So they're firing up this year. They're doing our top rankings every single week. You can get $20 off your first order, by the way. You welcome $20 off your first order. Just used ball 20. They got all the logo gear, man. Get your game day gear. They have it in all the different sizes. The pullovers, the t-shirts, the golf shirts, put rowback on your back, bro. It's good. Good stuff. All right, 12 team playoff today, if it started. We do not have graphics. West is asleep. I'm going to put it in the chat though. I'm going to put, as you reveal it, I'm going to put it in the chat. Okay, I'm going to start backwards because that's what he told me to do earlier when he was awake. All right, Boise State is my 12 team. I feel better about Boise State after a loss being the 12 seed than I did beforehand. We think about that. I think Boise State's a very good football team. We've seen Mad Dog.
I think they're going to be the group of six representative. They're going to be the 12 seed. So that's a projection because you know Memphis is two and a with a road win at UNOV. Yeah, I don't care. Okay, just checking. Just want to be sure. I got you. Again, you think Memphis was going to go to Eugene Organ and do that? No. No, well, then shut the front door. No, they're not. No, absolutely not. So Boise is in the 12 hole. And we do this every week, by the way, it's really cool exercise because you kind of, here's the thing, preseason rankings are really good. But I think you do need to watch the games consistently, watch how they perform against good competition, how they play, all that good stuff. So we got Boise at 12. Ole Miss, Hadi Tadi at 11. Was not impressed with the defense. Tried to add Jamelis is still there. He's still that bad, dude. I think they'll get better as the season goes along. But right now, had them in 11 spot. And listen, we might look up in Louisville might be really, really good down the road. And that might be in a higher quality. Yeah, and I. Because he ascended in that game, even in the game.
He did, but was it, was it, was it because he was really good? Or was it because Ole Miss's defense wasn't that good in the second area? I want to find that out. I want to see that as the year goes along. Texas Tech, you know, listen, there's nothing to see here yet. Nothing to know yet. Oklahoma, nothing to see here. Nothing to know yet. I will say this. If I watched Oklahoma, I would be like, hot dang, the offense looked 20 times better than it did at any year, a point a year ago. So that's good. I'll talk about them in numbers here in a little bit. Yeah, we'll talk about them in a little bit. All right. Ohio State is, no, no, no, I'm sorry. OU is, who did I have? Yeah, you had an Oklahoma nine. Okay, Oklahoma nine. Ohio State at eight with a chance to move vastly higher. Texas at seven. Again, didn't learn. So instead of the top five matchup, you have it as a... Seven eight matchup. Seven eight matchup. Listen, I don't care what these teams did a year ago. I'm judging on what I'm going to see this year. That's where we're at.
So you can get them set if you want to, but that's how we're going to do this. Indiana at six. No. Got the Hoosers at six. I thought they were, I thought they were solid. I thought Hoover answered some questions. If you had some questions about how the quarterback would play, I don't think you have questions anymore. Again. Highest graded, BFF graded his career. How about this? Notre Dame at five. I thought they were okay. They were not super duper impressive. Great second half settled in nicely. How good is Wisconsin? We do not know. We don't know how good... I bet Wisconsin's improved from they were for a year ago, but I'm going with Notre Dame at five. Oregon ducks. They slide all the way down to four. Remember preseason. I thought you had a one. I had a one. I thought they were the best team in the country. So all the run game not be very existent. And I saw them struggle defensively at times too. Against a pretty good boysy team, but I'm not going to sit here and say, boys, he's an elite team and a top 12 team. They're in the top 12 because of the way the system works. That's the only reason why. All right. Three, UGA.
Dogs looked really, really good. They played the little sisters of the poor. Not very good at all. But let me tell you something. Here's what I'll say. When I watch Georgia's defense and I watch 9 and 0 come off the edge, that look different. That look different than I've seen in a while. Three different freshmen too. Yeah. Like Thrustball and PJD. Corey Brooks. Socks. Socks. Brooks Socks. That dude's terrible. Coach, I'm in high school. So just for all. Appreciate you saying the rankings are terrible. This ranking is terrible. Miami in the two spot. Miami looked like a complete team. Daryl and Mensa just flipped them on that's ear. And they said, yep, look at what the heck just happened. I mean, look, wait, we got rid of Carson Beck. Wait, everybody's going to elevate. That's crazy. Everybody in this offense is going to get better and better. Fletcher didn't really get going. Offensive line. We'll get settled in. But while they're getting settled in, we'll just throw the Tony every play. Yeah, not too bad. And we thought all along that they can't well, kid was going to play left, just kind of walk in and play left tackle.
They played Samson there. There's a reason he starts he starts with a no. I forget how you pronounce his last name, but he played really well in that first game. Him. There's a reason they're totality of it, not necessarily. So are you going to be like the committee and since a certain team that has a ranking and that had a ranking in your initial one has two wins. You're going to put them number one since everybody else that on here, how long has one? I'm going to put LSU number one because of what they just did and how they just joking about USC. I don't see there. Yes, I know. But they were frying pan to the head. So dominant. They looked fast. They looked physical. The QB pass test. The test with flying colors. How's his foot? How's that Liz Frank surgery? Yeah, I think he's okay. How's he going to work in Lane Kiffin's offense? Pretty good. Is the run game going to get turned around? Yeah, almost 300 yards. Listen, I don't think Lumson's going to be a top team by any stretch of the imagination. But they put them things on them. Then absolute things.
And they look the part across the board all the way. So listen, we're going to do this every week. And we're going to do this as it comes. We're not going to have, we're going to have preconceived notions a little bit, but we're going to go by what we see a lot. This is Ashley Akinetti from the almost famous podcast. You ever notice you and your spouse keep saying, we need to get away, but you never actually plan anything. That was us until we did something fun and spontaneous. We went to resort pass.com. Jeep is one more awards over its lifetime than any other SUV brand, Jeep and the Jeep Grill or Registered Trademarks of FCA US LLC. And try to mesh the two worlds together, which is not easy to do. But I don't know how you wouldn't have LSU number one after week one. Speaking of that, I need to make sure of this just to be sure. But Mr. lover of the SEC himself did his top 12.
And is that earlier today? And he put LSU number one. Who's that? That would be Danny Canal. Oh, yeah. Trolley Canal. Danny Troll. But he also put almost two. So I don't know that I would his was just you anyway, but he did put LSU one like if Ole Miss would have been a little bit better defensively, I definitely would have had them higher. But they're in the playoffs. That's still good. And I listen, they're going to have plenty of opportunities to change that. And listen, and Trinidad in the second half shows you something to like wait a minute. Yes. Hold my beer. USC. USC just on the outside, Bama just on the outside, A&M BYU. Those were others receiving votes. But you're right. Ty. In the chat. You're right. They played a real, they played a, I played a real team. They did play a real team. We'll see how good they are in the end. I do not know that. But all right, let's get the numbers on me. All right. So you mentioned Oklahoma. The tight ends and we talked about this in the all season. They were 59th in the power for last year. We have almost 2,000 people watching on X right now.
That's free. Fantastic. Like we have a lot of junkies that follow us. It's amazing. I just want to say thank you very much. Do the like, the rate, the subscribe thing. Because if you all are all listening, y'all are all outstanding. And it's 12.51 a.m. And I have to go get up and go to work tomorrow. That's all for that. That's all for that. But anyway, the Oklahoma part, we talked 59th in the power for last year in terms of using 12 personnel. Two tight ends. And what did they do? They bring in Jason Witton. And then they bring in all kinds of tight ends in the transfer. 53 of their 59 plays. Two or three or three tight ends on the field. It's 78 total of those last year in Love College football. Got to teach eighth grade Bible tomorrow morning from a Huffman Hawk. That's awesome. Three receptions on the three targets for 58 yards. And we had the Rocky beers touchdown. And if you look at the three targets, the tight ends brought some serious juice in the run game from a blocking perspective as well.
I can't wait to see it against Michigan. I can't either. And that'll be a tape breakdown, by the way, just the way they use their tight ends. Because I think it's going to be fun to show people like how you can change gaps and change angles and really help your offensive line at a high level. And when we saw sort of and we did a look at Michigan in terms of tape Tuesday and Bryce Underwood. But the totality of their team performance, it wasn't like the physical nature that you're used to seeing. Which also is kind of winning hamst thing in a way, but it wasn't there. It's a huddle. It's a huddle. It's a huddle. And it's Michigan. You're a Michigan man. That's what you do. But yeah, tomorrow will be a breakdown of arch. What we saw week one reasons to see some good stuff or reasons to feel optimistic. And then there's some things he can obviously work on. Then Bryce Underwood, the sky is falling. Everybody's out on Bryce Underwoods. If it's a stock that would be shorted and sold and everybody would be at rid of it right now. But we'll show you why.
Why he why he's struggling and does he have the tools and the things that he can fix it with. Speaking of arch, fifth game out of the last 14. So the 13 last year and then this first game this year that they've had at least three drops in the game. Two others, Kentucky. People probably didn't watch Kentucky. Youngstown State. Actually, Youngstown State has a QB. Pretty solid didn't obviously didn't matter. And that's certainly the game in terms of throws that he made. Kenny Menshi though. 300 yards, four touchdowns, 65% plus completion, no I and T's in a season opener. Him and then one other guy. If you had to guess Kentucky QBs, who would be the one other guy? There's probably only two names, but which one would be the. Chair of the Renzen or Tim couch. It would be Tim couch at Louisville September, 1998 was the last. Pillsbury throwboy. The first, my first came in college was against the Pillsbury throwboy.
I was defensive tackle and I came in immediately, almost sacked him. He pumps it to the flat. I turn and sprint to the flats. Sprint to the flats. Look back. You still had the ball in his hands. Did you hit him in all that game? Yeah, I hit him. You know what? It really taught me because you know, I got to go get Ben Rothisberger as a, as a, as a bangle for my very short illustrious career career in the NFL, a game, a year and two games. It taught me something. It taught me to go for the ball. Like those guys that were big and strong, they could sling it. You know, a lot of people would wrap him up while I wrapped him up and I went for the throwing arm. I got Ben, I think I got Ben three times my rookie year. And literally when you wrap him up, they're so big and strong and they can get away. And he still made so many plays, but you had to wrap him up and grab that throwing arm so he couldn't. And actually saw Jared Lorenzen grabbed the ball and throw it over his head right handed and completed pass. He was getting stacked like this.
I remember that one. Right handed over his head. I do absolutely insane, but the coach, Coach Van Gorder, our defensive coordinator, he called him the, he just, he called him the magician. He was like, man, he's gonna pull stuff out of his hat. He was like, he's, he's incredible. He's incredible. I called him the Pillsbury throwboy, but that was, that was mine. Anyway, interesting game for, we talked about it. We got Kentucky, Alabama. Will Stein effect, baby. This week. So, you know, that game maybe is a little more interesting now. And then the one that I'm actually really, really mad at myself that I didn't mention this team last night. But UCLA goes up to Cal and just dunks on them in the fourth quarter and the running game. I sort of early was on Cal as a team. Oh, maybe this is a playoff type team, but the point where I thought you were going to pick them. I was like, I was, I was all about, I was like, yes, me and Brenner are disagreeing.
I'm taking UCLA and then you picked them. I was like, what? I thought, I thought you were like president of the Cal. Well, so you can tell you why. Because, you know, you've been sort of touting the, the, the Tosh, the boy, you know, animal that he is and coach and this. I just love him. He's just, he's my spirit animal. But I, the more I read as it came out and the more like even people that commented on our stuff as it related to Oregon and the coaching and him, like, the fans of the Oregon were fine. We like, fine. See you. Okay, with it. And that workout from the first game. Well, yes, true. Them themselves, yes. But in terms of trusting him as a coach, I was like, eh, maybe not. Chesney though, they're in the running game. And the numbers part of this. 27 carries for 277 yards, six touchdowns for UCLA. You got it. It's the most they've had in terms of rushing yards in a game since 2023 bowl game in the Chip Kelly, Dorian Thompson, Robertson and Charbonne area.
They had six runs of 15 plus yards. And when you look at UCLA, wait a night's hard to tackle, man. Yes. You know why? Because he's a hobbit. Like that is like that dude is tiny. When you watch him run through the hole, I'm like, looks like Brent Rollins running through that sucker. I mean, he just, he is not tall. Like it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's just. It's just, it Brent's not the tallest in the world. But like the dome is so big. There's so much information in there. It's ridiculous. But like I just, I saw him hitting the hole and I was like, man, it'd be hard to pick him up. Seriously. Yes. It'd be hard to see him over the big guys and he'd be on you before you knew it. But he, you could, you could see that and then, you know, obviously, KSN getting hurt too. Or, you know, he was limping, you see him limping around like crazy, Song of Polateli. I mean, he was out there on one leg, you know, hopping around like crazy, trying to scramble around and make plays. Obviously, he's something to monitor too and cow to see, you know, because he is the, he is the heartbeat of that team.
He is the point guard, the distributor and he'll, if he's out, that's, that's a very ungood, very ungood. So let's, just thinking about UCLA's schedule though, because this is San Diego State at home. Not the easiest of games. They're always bustle. I would say dub, Purdue at home. Purdue, Dub. So at Maryland, who also might be three and a, we talked about, not a guaranteed dub. That's not a guaranteed dub. But let's say you get that dub. If you're UCLA, you go cross country, you get that dub. You're now four and a, with a week off and then going to Oregon. Okay. Well, even if they lose that game, next after that Wisconsin at home, beatable, dub, Michigan State at home. We'll see. Yeah. We'll see. And then we'll see the United States State at home, Nevada at home, At Minnesota, Illinois at home, then they go At Michigan and USC to finish the season. That USC game. You look at, like the totality of that schedule.
If they take care of all the games that aren't necessarily, at least from a ranked team perspective right now, that USC game might be for a playoff spot at the end of the season. power positivity with the Jesse. I wish you could see my helmets up here at the very top above the Arizona State is a UCLA helmet. You can't really see this, but one of the first ones having coach Chesney on not too long ago. We talked and you could you could feel it from him. He's got a little different thing to him. They showed his dad, dude. I thought it was pretty cool with his dad in this story of how his dad comes and tells him out of coach. But so keep it on UCLA. Right. Let's let's wrap this up. Let's just say that the one a.m. now version of the Monday show. Who won the weekend? Well, to me it started off. You might forget by this time what happened, but UMass started off just bringing the hammer and Joe
Hera Simeak is the coach for UMass because everybody knew that and everybody definitely knew how to say it. It's I had to spell it out phonetically. Trust me. Former DC at Rutgers in 22 through 24. Oh, in 12 in his debut last year for for UMass longest active losing streak against FPS UMass 16 games 16 games. It had been a thousand 41 days since they beat an FPS opponent and they went on the road and said Rutgers. Sit yo mother freaking booty down at the little kids table. Like you suck 37 to 21 beat down of Rutgers to start the season. So UMass declared themselves and UMass was the winner of the weekend. If it wasn't for KJ Duff, it would have been even worse. That dude's an animal. We talked about him before the season and we talked about our top playmakers and I talked
about him because that dude is a big strong body that catches everything thrown near him. Contested catch. It's he's incredible. But he can't win every game. Many and he definitely can't play defense because UMass just scored again. Yes. We thought this was kind of going to be it wasn't really highly ranked. You put you still put it I think one or two in terms of remember when we ranked the weeks of College football just because of the opening week. But it wasn't like a big match up week like we had last year with the monster games that we had last year. But think about this that we got we got the UMass upset win. You've got Colorado field gold block to win on Thursday night at Georgia Tech. You got the Oregon Boise game that was really good to the end. You got the Michigan. Set a bed could have been Halary Auburn with the two point stop on the like millimeter line. We want. Almost walk on the weekend because
we got to watch football and we got to see all that and did you see the entrance at Lane Stadium. This week. And with with James Franklin leading them out and. I watched the video from start to finish. I was like I got I got chills. It was he might be on podium Kings this week too. Handsome good thoughts I thought about the high five and just celebration. Yeah. Just like what are we doing here? You high five and you get a excessive celebration that's un-American which that might be the only thing you agree with which James Franklin that's what I'm talking about. Yeah I think that wraps it up then that's that's our that's our show. You guys I say this in the most loving affectionate ways you guys are some freaking psychos and I love it like the fact that we've got almost 2,500 people the fact that you're going you know ham and the chat right now yes Eric Stewart by the way FSU kept it within three and a half which was significant.
And how that stuff always happens is very weird. But we appreciate you dudes will be back tomorrow for take Tuesday which will be fantastic will be back Wednesday will be back Thursday will we're going to hear a lot so y'all get used to us. Peace.
