Hi, I'm Johnny Erksen Tata. In Jeremiah chapter 36, the Lord had a specific message for King Jehoyakim and the people of Judah who had gone astray. And so, Jeremiah the Prophet had his scribe, right down God's messages on a scroll to proclaim the Word to all who would hear. But King Jehoyakim would have none of it. Taking a knife, the King shred the scroll to bits, throwing it into the fire section by section until the whole thing was burned up. Now, you'd think this would have been enough to scare Jeremiah away, but instead, Jeremiah had yet another scroll written as God commanded. Oh, friend, we live in a culture where proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus can be demoralizing and even risky. Yet, like Jeremiah, God has commanded us to speak up. So, draw courage from his example. Let's push back the darkness in our culture and shine the light of God's Word, no matter what the risk.
