I'm Kelly MacKaren and I'm back and I decided to wear a little shirt that actually isn't much even though it looks like merch. 1:01but it's not our font or our brand. It's like this, I spotted it on the iconic a couple of weeks ago. It's like this random mens brand. It's very cool. And I was like, this is cool and it looks like we made it. So, but we didn't. So we might make our own, don't buy that. We sure do. I reckon you don't buy this one or beauty bags. Okay, Kelly, I mean you rudely left me last week but we're going to hear a little bit more about that in a moment. Yes. No, Erin did do a wonderful job at filling in. We love her. I adore Erin, her jumping up from the couch made me get good for day. It really, it, yep, she's so good at doing that. But so yes, I will tell you what I was doing when I was in TR. We have a bunch of fun, exciting news to report on. Then we're going to move into questions. We've got a spring cleaning queue, queue and we will A. And we will A. And then Spendie Savie, my goodness, I'm so excited to tell you about mine. Okay. Look, I had a week off. I know. I know. Yeah. Last night I was like, oh my goodness there's so many things I don't know what I want to talk about.

Okay, should we get started and put a lot to cover? Please. Okay, my friends, spill the beans. Where were you? What was that cool trip I saw all over Instagram? Tell me more. I spent 50 hours in Singapore. Two nights in Singapore. It's quite, quite a long way to go. For two nights, however, I've done it for Bali, haven't I? Yes. And it was such a great trip. So I went over there with Ola and Pantene, so to a PNG's brands. And when I tell, like I know that this sounds stupid because like, of course they do. But I guess I didn't realise just how much they did in terms of the science space. And I know that sounds silly because of course, but like they really are leading the way. These big companies and it's where so much of our knowledge is sort of coming from. So the innovation lab in Singapore, the PNG Innovation Lab is actually one of the largest

3:04research facilities in Singapore. And it has more scientists in the building than at Harvard. Oh, I know. That's impressive. Right. Like my brain is still a little bit overwhelmed. I had five and a half hours of footage from one data lab of just information that I was filming. I hope that's for your own personal use. I've done right. I'm not going to try to inflict that on anyone. I think the thing that surprised me most and once again, it should know, but was just how much they care about what the consumer wants and thinks. And the amount of detail that goes into the research, like there was this, and I mean, I made it inappropriate joke because of course I did. They were kind of like, huh, about because there's like this one room with a shower in. And I was like, you guys just watching people shower and they're just like these lovely people just like, oh goodness, what? We're not like they're decent. And I was like, I know I'm just banking a bad joke. But so there's this room that people can shower in and they try to make it look as natural

4:06as possible so that the people aren't changing their behaviour. But there's like all these spy holes. So that the scientists can like watch what they're doing in there and how their behaviour works. And it's scale. So where you put the product, there's like a scale so that they're then judging how much of the product exactly a consumer will use when they're washing their hair. And then there's like these vents at the bottom of the shower on the other side, the creepy side of the wall where they're watching. The vents are like coming through and they have a nose like a proper perfumer that is there sniffing around the vents to see what fragrance. It's just the amount of detail that goes into all of the research. Absolutely blew my mind. And there's these ladies there testing different types of leather. It's just stuff that I, even though I work in this industry, I just assume, oh yeah, like that just happens.

5:06Like it just lathers. It's a way that it lathers. But it's like, no, there is science behind absolutely every single decision and every single element. And not just like a few decisions, years of research and development into the smallest factor in each product. It absolutely blew my mind. I found it so amazing. It's impressive. Did you see lots of hair like bunches of hair with panting? Yes. And so like different types. Every single person is represented in that room because every single hair type, even bald, lots of bald studies for, you know, per-grow things and whatever. So yeah, anyway, my mind is still brimming. It's still full, but it was so incredible. And I just love nerding out over that sort of thing. But in less nerdy news and more makeup news, I just love hearing about that shower. That was fascinating. That's exactly how they describe it. They're probably like out of all of the things that you could tell people about the trip. The showers. You're focused on, but I'm just like, oh, it's just, it's, it's just an example of my

6:12mind's just being blown over the tiny little details of things that I had never thought about. I love it. So from Singapore to back here, Mark Jacobs Beauty just launched into Sephora. So it was announced at the Sephora Showcase and we got our hands on some products. And I went into the city store last weekend and it had just hit the store. I thought someone hugely famous was in Sephora in the city. It was outrageous. And I didn't know if the younger kids would really care that much about Mark Jacobs because growing up for me, and I don't know you like a Mark Jacobs handbag was $300. Oh my God, you really wanted one. And so I didn't expect the hype. It doesn't surprise me at all because the online hype around Mark Jacobs coming back, Mark Jacobs Beauty coming back has been enormous. And you know how we've been talking about fun coming back, the fun packaging, the fun colours. He is so good at that. And technically this did launch last week, but I wouldn't let Lee talk about it without

7:14me because I'm so obsessed with everything. Yeah. The formulas are just what formulas should be with makeup. They're so good. And the prices, look, it's Sephora. So the prices, I think are pretty decent given that you can pay for other designer brands that are kind of the quality isn't as high as Mark Jacobs Beauty. This eyeliner, we're going to get into the products. Lee's got some for show and tell. I just did the tiny little flick and it's so pigmented. Yeah, Kelly's wearing like a blue eyeliner, which is one of the best sellers. So the best seller is the bronzer. I have not touched these. Oh. I know. Are you proud of me? I'm so excited to see your first in- I was so tempted. Okay, well I was around when it was around the first time. So I had an idea in my head of what the brand used to be and meant to me. And this meets that. And then more. Packaging is maybe a little bit youthful, but that's kind of he- It's a bit wacky. It's fun. It's fun. So it's a no-ingly big. Yeah. This palette I'm holding is like a big little silver pillow with a flower on it. And okay, look, I swatched. I swatched the mobilized in the store because I knew you would let me play with them.

8:15It's incredibly finely milled. You swatched them in the store. Well, I was in Sephora. So I just played with them. Oh, sorry. I thought you meant those ones and I'm like, ew, what then you just bought the testers? I was in there being a consumer buying many other things. Okay. So I had to play in the store. It's incredibly finely milled. It's matte, but it's not matte. It's just literally a wash of powder. Or it wasn't the back of my hand when I tried it. Have you tried it on your face? Yes, it's beautiful. It's also perfect for both new makeup enthusiasts as well as beginners as well as more makeup advanced users because it's really like a true buildable product. Yeah, absolutely. Very sheer, but it's not that the pigment's not there. Yeah. It's just that the way it's milled is you can get so fine. Yeah. These are the blushes. They are like a little yellow, daisy, very chubby. Again, not very travel-friendly, but so cute. Can you tell me about the blushes because I'm not that intrigued. They are so pigmented. Wait, do you see the colors this?

9:15Are you that? It's like this bright peachy orange shade. I think it's called Peach Please. It looks like my sun's acrylic fluoropaint for graph. It's so great. For spring and summer, get that onto your face. Get it on there right now. You could also press it into your lips and then just like marry the whole look together and it's so juicy and fun. That's more you. Yes, so this is what I can't read that one. It's a sugary plum color. Shady business. Oh, that's so mean. It's very moisturizing and hydrating and I say that much. Oh, that's so much more me. That's kind of like a rose. Yeah. Well, I don't have any blush on yet because I'm going to tell you about another blush later. So that doesn't work out well. And then the lipsticks, I thought of you. This is a very you brand. My sticks that I don't care about. What do you mean? I just, there are so many great lipsticks. I just was more intrigued by everything else. You just continue to surprise me. The one thing I'll say is that so packed these in my bag, the lid keeps falling off them. This is a hot pink.

10:15Look, it's a beautiful range. It's quite considered. It's quite small. Yeah. There's a bunch of eyeliners that you've got on. There's a trio of the best selling eyeliner shades, which are in more wearable every day. Shades like neutrals, like black, brown, cream. There's some neutrals, but I would say you're going to that brand for the fun. 100%. But really like high quality fun. And then the eye shadows. These are probably the most unique. There are some just plain mono colors. But then there's a few that are like color. Colorful. It's a little on-ro. They are so beautiful. You need to swatch it so people get the, but what are in the stand? They're also in a star. And it feels so creamy, but it's a powder. So it's like, you know, when you see petrol on the ground and it's got that pearly kind of, okay, that's cool. I would do that in a liner. It's so cool. You could do that in the liner, just use a pencil brush. If someone is interested in trying just one of the products, I reckon the eye shadows, they are just unlike anything else. They are so cool. I think the formulas are impressive, and we probably expect that.

11:17But the packaging is just so fun that I think it'll bring in a whole new younger audience that might not know who Mark Jacobs is. It's sort of silver. It looks like a healing and balloon that's silver, but in the shape of a star, that's the shadows. But yeah, they are super fun. So it's kind of around the $40, $50 price range, so it's not outrageous, but it's not your chemistry and house half price, but it's pretty fun. Ooh! And this week they've now launched Body Misses as well, and I just thought I'd bring one in to show you the little little packets got like the flower on the top of it as well. It's got flavour if you can. I brought in Tropical Glow. They're $65 for hair and body mist. That's my favourite too. Oh! So this week I hosted an event for Napoleon Purdus, and it was so cool. Like I didn't know what I was hosting until the briefing. It's just like, I don't know. I didn't even know that Napoleon Purdus the man didn't even work in the business anymore. That's how much I knew, but I was like, love the products. Yes, I will be there. Anyway, turn up to the briefing and buy the end of it. I was like, what? That is so cool. They're offering subscription makeup boxes.

12:20It's so cool. What are your golden ritual? And you know how? With beauty boxes or subscription boxes, it's generally kind of like the duds, the stuff that inses, stuff that's almost about to expire or like sample sizes. They're not doing that. It's all based, like you fill out a little survey thing and get colour matched online using the AI technology. And then every three months you get a big box full of goodies for that season as well. So skin care and everything's full sized and it's $182.50 which is very specific, but they wanted to make it $2 a day because they're like, what can you get for $2 a day? That's good. I know. I know. And like the first box alone, it's over $700. Wow. And so then it's like you've said, I'm a leopor, I'm an eye or I'm, you know, whatever. You get. I'm more oily, I'm more dry. Whatever it is, I like colour, I don't like colour and every box will be customized and personalized to you. So there is a few other brands in Australia that do or internationally that do offer subscription

13:26services in terms of like skin care and body care, raises, do you know, during that sort of thing, which is very cool because you can sort of gauge how quickly you'll go through things. But I haven't seen that many that are doing like kind of just your beauty routine. There you go. Done. I just think it's really cool. And I actually think because I like to burn us out, I was kind of like, but how are you going to make money from that? Because surely that's a loss. But the idea is for customer retention. Yeah. And they can forecast sales, I guess, so they don't have a huge amount of product. Exactly. And yes, I just think that more as we move into subscription models in like many different facets of business, I do think that we will see more of it within the beauty spaces. Well, I just thought it was really cool. Something different. People that want good stuff, but don't want to think about it like set and forget like maybe with my glitter. Exactly. But they just want good quality. Great. There it is. Exactly. So good. Smart. And then after the break, we're going to help somebody decide what to keep and what to chuck in the bathroom cabinet. And then somebody else is struggling with lip liner.

14:28Wow. All right. It's that time of the week again. Q and A time where we answer your questions with our answers. Yeah. Q stands for question A stands for answer. You submit them. We choose two. And hopefully we help. All right, Kelly. Spring is here. Spring has spung. Love spring. People don't even talk to me about that. I thought it's not too bad yet. But traditionally, we are supposed to spring clean. Why? I don't know. I want to go outside and frolic. But. Oh, I've spring cleaned. Love spring cleaned to my wardrobe because it makes me happy. It's been spring for three seconds. When did you have time? I do it. I always took way too soon and then I regret it. Yeah. So I've got none of my way into clothes left. But it just makes me happy. And I do my beauty as well. Or the way I get to do that. That's okay. You can do it after this advice. But just so you remember, in September, we always have a warm start. And then a cold snap. So don't pack away until after that cold snap happens every year. Unless you're me and you'll just be wearing summer clothes with blazes for the first able future. Fine.

15:28Okay. So this person has asked, yay to spring. You've probably covered this before, but I'm a relatively new UB. Love the show. That's nice. And I'm wondering about spring cleaning my beauty products. I'm currently type A. So I'm deep in my spring cleaning era. The curtains are my nemesis and I'd love something a bit more fun. That was from the lovely prop. So welcome to the show. And yes, I agree. Forget cleaning the oven. I do that the other day. Forget it. Oh, gross. I love spring cleaning. Well, only the fun things. I love playing with my kids. Yes. And putting them on in treats. But then I throw in everything around and I go, eh. I don't want to do the like throwing out. Yes. And then you put a recycle. Do you want to go first? Because mine's very haphazard as is my life. I, yes. Because I feel like I've come up with a system. Now many women, especially if you are Perry or ADHD or just a busy person, you start a project and then you get overwhelmed and it ends up just being messy for months because you just can't be bothered after about half an hour.

16:29Oh, four hours. But you need a week to do that. But so if you sometimes I will do a project like this on a Sunday and I'll lock in with a book like I'll download a book and I'll lock in, put a book in my ears and like just to stay on task to sort of focus. How does your brain have a book in its ears and your thinking? I can't ever just do the one thing at once. But I think a better way to do it is a little reset every single night for maybe two weeks and then just like have little categories and that is just a really easy, more manageable way to get through it all because then you're not making too big of a mess. So regardless of how many products I think that this will work, even yet 12 or 1200 products. Yes. We're more 1200. But yeah, the average person is more 12. So these are just examples obviously. But reset number one, like your makeup bag that gets chucked into your handbag, not that big one. But the one that you just sort of pop in your handbag or away for the weekend or whatnot that's kind of just got your little essentials in it.

17:29So get everything out of the makeup bag, give the makeup bag a wipe down, all of the products, give them a wipe because anyhow things get just rose. Yes. Like do that in every single reset I would say. If you're out the draw, the cupboard, whatever it is, the shelf, wipe it down, give it a nice clean and then wipe all of the products down so that stains, everything, put the lids back on them if you found them or still have them. And when you're wiping things down, don't actually wipe down the product. I know that that might be self-explanatory, but sometimes people are like, oh, should I disinfect this? No. If you put disinfectant or any ingredient on top of a product, it has a very high chance of then disrupting the way that the product works, the color payoff, and it could make it quite funky. So yeah, don't just start spraying or wiping down the inside of products or like as in a shadow palette or a bronzer. So a shadow palette or like the mascara wand, don't like clean it and then shove it back

18:30in because then you're shoving like alcohol back in there. Just that sort of thing. Yeah. If you do have a shadow palette or bronzer palette that has got that sort of hardening from the natural oils of your brush, you can just get like a tiny, like a tinkle razor that you use to get your peach puffs and you literally just sort of scrape the top off and then you'll see if it's okay. And if you're going to chuck it anyway, it's worth it. Sometimes you do that with beautiful palettes because the top layer is like crap. Yeah. It's really pigmented. Oh, yeah, because when they press it, they seal it. Yeah. So you want to get it started. You want to get that off. It's a bit of a shame though when it's really pretty. And then assess what's in there, what needs to be replaced, what's almost about to run out, what could be swapped. So if it's your little makeup bag now that we're going to spring summer, maybe you could put a brighter tinted lip balm in there or like with the little travel perfume, maybe something a little bit more fruity or fresh. Move away from if you've got something deeper for winter. So that's night one. So reset number two.

19:31So the next night, do your skincare routines. Once again, take it all out, wipe it down, then start having a look at expiry dates as well, which we will get to later and sort of assess whether or not you'll need something lighter for the warmer month. So I'm generally okay, but I might not be slugging every night in spring summer, whereas in the winter, I definitely would. So then the next night you'll do your hair care stash. Get rid of anything almost empty or like give it to someone if you don't want to use it or put it in the shower sort of force you to use it rather than oh, it's just there. And I would say every time you're doing one of these little resets, get everything that you haven't touched for say two weeks, put it to the side, yeah, for two weeks. And then over the next two weeks, if you don't reach for it, then you need to get rid of it. That's been passed it on to someone or repurpose it in whatever way because if you haven't

20:31used it for the two weeks and then you haven't used it for another two weeks, you're not going to use it. So there's no point in just taking up valuable real estate. And when you're looking at something, if you're unsure, you can't really remember when you opened it, have a little look at the texture, have a look at the smell. If there's something a little bit off about it, I just wouldn't risk it in the bin at the moment. But generally products are made with preservatives so that they can withstand different temperatures and finger bacteria and that sort of thing. So I think it's quite rare, especially if you're only a little bit over maybe the expiry or the throw out thingy. So do I say clean your brushes? No, but I was waiting for that. Well, sorry, on the hair care reset though, your hair care brushes get all of that manky old hair out, give them a nice little scrub get in there, give them a clean, just things that we don't remember or think to do. And then another night, another reset would be all of your beauty tools. So everything else, give them such a good soak and scrub like all of your makeup brushes.

21:35And your beauty tools that you don't think of to clean like your gouache are disinfected, your face balls, whatever you use. I lash curl. I lash curl all, oh my god, mine is actually disgusting. It is such a good one that I need to do. Because if you don't, the dry mascara sits there and even when you clamp it will kind of grab to the lashes and I'll split your lashes eventually. Exactly. Like just everything that you use on your face on a regular basis, use that opportunity on your reset tools tonight to give it a good scrub. Then your bathroom shelf. So if it has prime real estate, it needs to be used. So just exactly like I said, put things to the side, love like leave, put things into the cataray is depending on how often you use it. So there's just no point storing things if you're not going to use it. Just because it looks pretty or you like the smell of it or whatnot. It's just all of that clutter as well. Clutter is your mind. Like it's not not good for us up here. When it comes to everyday makeup routine, I products and lip products, I would say the most important in terms of expiry.

22:37If in doubt, throw it out and then you can start maybe swapping powders out for creams. If you want just for that more, do we sort of sheer youthful makeup that we sometimes want when it's a little bit warmer. Finally, the other one that I thought of the category was SPFs. They are so important to make sure that they are within the opening and expiry because they are something that, I mean, you will know quite quickly if it is a sponge. Any body sunscreen that is from this time last year? I mean, you should use it all and it's done. But if it was put away, I guess at the end of summer, get six months ago, you can't reliably, if it's open, you can't reliably use that. So literally the first day of something warm where you're going to the beach, anything that's open, get rid of it. And if you don't like the formula, get rid of it. But there's no point just storing it. The thing about sunscreen is that we want you to have a formula that you enjoy using so that you actually use it. It's just taking up real estate and you're never going to suddenly like it on your skin. Yeah, I agree. I mean, it's something you should be using every day. So that should be used most frequently, I would assume.

23:39So speaking of expires, every product, depending, I guess, on the packaging, it might be on the actual product or the box, but it's a legal requirement. It will have the tiniest, most illegible symbol. I had to get my torch out so the way you could actually see that. Kelly couldn't even see this. So here, I've got a few products, different types of products, different expires. This is the bumble and bumble pressure powder. It's a little travel dry shampoo, 24 months, that one was. 24 months. That's a relatively safe product too. I mean, I would use this as five years old. It's basically a town compound. The only ones you really need to worry about are things that you put on your face and like mascara's lip products. Yeah. It's sunscreen. Yeah. Anything that's sort of liquid, especially if it's a pot, you are putting your fingers in it and it depends on the ingredients. Then I've got a eye cream. Was there six months? This is a serum, sorry, one of my favourites. I always go through this. There's no chance. Actually, is it six months? Yep. This one here is six months. So it's a tiny symbol. It's a circle with a little lid. It's meant to be a jar. And this is kind of best before.

24:41There would be an expiry on the crimp if you've got kind of like a lip balm type thing. But this is like, I've opened it. If you're an organised person, you would then maybe put it in your notes app six months time that it's about to go off. Or some people put like, if they've got a label maker, they might put on the bottom of it what date they opened it. Yeah. And I think that's more important for products, maybe like your vitamin C, because that can oxidise you. Foundations can oxidise, which is devastating. Our lovely producer asked why her three-year-old foundation looked weird. Yes, but it was very expensive and she doesn't really get it. I get it. So this is also a good lesson. The looks weird. Having a lot like we do isn't always better because you go, oh, that's great. I meant to wear that. And it was actually from four years ago. I've got another one here just to show the range. This is the way here. Oh, do you know, can you tell I love a mini? Because mini's are a really good way to get through a product. If you do have a bigger collection or you want to try things, be dominant to expire before the time you finish, this is 12 months. I find that quite interesting although it would use a 10-year-old hair oil.

25:42Yeah. I mean, hair oils are generally synthetics anyway, but anything that's a true oil is a preservative in itself. Yeah. It's used to preserve oils and things like that. So that leads me to trust you, Gar. If your product looks or smells differently or the texture is different, have a look into it. I mean, probably in Chuket. I've got eye shadow palettes whereby they, you know, it's gone that film on the top that's kind of gone hard from the brushes, the oils on the brushes. Or the colors go a little bit weird. Yes. And I just kind of keep them for nostalgia, I don't know why. But if you do have, you know, a bigger shadow palette, there's any sort of white film or anything that's mold throughout the entire palette, you can't remove mold. If something is certified organic, just check the ingredients. I mean, we're getting a bit sciencey here, but it should have some form of preservative. But anything like that that's really sort of natural, I would just be extra cautious with because preservatives aren't bad. They're there to keep our skin healthy and the product's sort of effective. That's otherwise things can just breed away in there. Fake tan's another one I'd be careful because the DHA base is usually green. And if you haven't used it for a while, it kind of just dies down to the more, not

26:43roaring green, it's on the base. You end up green. Yeah, you end up green. Well, green, huge. Yes. Guilty. And for me, I would just maybe have a look at what you've got as a whole. Like do you really love, I really love dry shampoo and hairspray. I bought this hair oil the other day because I'd had like one. So maybe it's a good time to do a bit of a re-stock or like an audit of what you like. And you know what I also started in my notes app because I've got a few products that I use like, dry and dry, like bioderm and my cellar water. I've been using the rebound serum a lot. So I literally went, oh, you've got four rebounds because it's been on special with certain places. So I don't need to get it even next time it's on special. I've got enough. So if you record everything, if you get to touch, you could idea. Yeah. So you get drawn in by a sale and it's often those essentials that are always on sale. I think, oh my god, I've got to get it. It's half price, half price, but I don't need a few. You don't, because by the time you need it, it'll be in two years and then you can potentially get because that's my mum does that. She buys everything. She got two giant drawers and I'm like, mum, some of this stuff is expired. Yes.

27:44Yeah. Because you bought so much backup of things that you like that you never got through it. Yes. And this is generally a rule for once a product's open, but that's right. If you do kind of have big stockpile, even if it's something like diodorant, you might not get it to two or three years. It's even then it hasn't been opened, but technically it's probably not that fresh. Yeah. Mascara definitely chuck out. They say three months, I would stretch it to six, but I've got a friend once that had conjunctivitis, so a pinkeye and then she used to own mascara again on her eye and gave it back to herself. For you, Mascara is out okay. If you've got, if you're prone to cold sauce, same with your lip products, obviously, same with your toothbrush. I mean, that's just kind of standard hygiene. Have fun and then hopefully it looks like a beautiful display or, you know, your little makeup bag. Most of my friends have like this nice bag and that's it. That's be nice. Lee and Kelly, I need you to guide me. I want to be a lip liner girlie. I feel like everyone knows how to use it except me and except the people who look like they ate a chocolate puddle pop and forgot to wipe their mouth. I don't want to be that person. How do I choose the color and how do I put it on my lips to make them look bigger, but

28:46still natural and not with an obvious line around my lips? Test has asked. That's interesting because it makes me think tests isn't wearing like a bright lipstick. It's more that she wants, you know, to put a balm or a sheerish color over the top, a bit like what I do. But once lip liner to be the definition, is that what you take from that? Yes. Okay. Yes. I had my lips tattooed. So I flew up to Queensland. We did a blow by blow on a very old episode and I had my lip color. So essentially a blow by blow because she looked like a blowfish. Oh my gosh. It was basically because I don't have much of a vermillion border, which is the border where the color kind of hits the skin. And as you age, that fades as well. So I had it tattooed. It was mostly the border, but then kind of on-brae into the lip. And it was literally my lip color. It looked so far. It did. And then it looks really natural and then it just faded. Now it's pretty much gone. So I feel you. I'm trying to do. I like to use lip liner to make my lips just more defined, but not like, whoa, she's

29:46wearing a statement lip. It's less about not knowing how to apply it. It just doesn't last when you're using it in this way. I do have some advice about where to apply it. And I absolutely know what you mean about people wearing it quite defined. But that's also a look in itself. I think there's a whole trend of it kind of meant to be. It's a lining. Yeah. And not obvious, but it's kind of, they know that it's outside their lips and it's maybe like a cappuccino color. But that's the look. Have I got that right? Yeah. I think I'm giving paddlepop. That's what's in my mind. Yes, same. But I think also sometimes I go, wow, that's cool, but I could never do that. But it is subjective. So, okay, so are you going to put someone I am? But I want to ask, well, you're the lip girl. So I want to know your advice. I mean, I don't ever do it neatly, really. Or no, I just do it. What do you mean? I don't, I don't ever focus too much on details. When you say I'm a lip person, I often wear a lip. But if you look closely, be like, that's quite messy. And often it ends up on my teeth and my chin.

30:46If I'm doing a bold lip, that's relatable. I will always do a liner. Oh, actually, no, I don't really. If I'm doing, but if I'm doing a more nudy, natural lip, then I will always do a liner because I too, as I've got an older, my lips have just faded and I tend to look a little bit corpsey without something on my lips. One thing about, yes, it fades so quickly, more so than any other product, I will sometimes use just a lip stain on as my liner and then just reapply like my gloss. Or my balm or whatever I've got during the day. And when you say stain, there's ones that are almost like a marker, like a texture. It looks like a texture. Yeah. And you just sort of line your lips. I overline, listen, it's got an all smudged today. I overline without it looking like I've clearly drawn outside my lips by kind of drawing on the edge of the lip and the skin. That's the vermilion border. So you've got a milk one there and it looks quite a thick, like a, like a, like a thick end.

31:47Like it's not one of those ones that you sharpen. It's super, super point. Yeah, it's smudgy. My first tip is if you want, especially if you've never done lip liner as well, don't have anything on your lips. So they need to be dry, no gloss, no balm, absolutely nothing on your lips because then it will start to slip and slide everywhere. Unless you have a surgeon's hand, you probably are quite shaky. So you sort of want to do it on an angle with your elbow leaning rather than going like directly in and not having your elbow on anything because that will probably not only a surgeon's hand, surgeon's eyesight because that's where I've sort of started to struggle more with my eye line because that was my kind of focus. And when you come and see what you're doing, it's scary. Yes. And you end up with product everywhere. And if your after a really sort of sharp, angled pencil, like lip line, then I would go for a pencil that, or a lip liner that is a pencil and that you sharpen because you want the sharpest point possible, a traditional pencil. Yes. If I'm like this is God, I don't even know what this is.

32:48That needs to be even sharper though if you were to do it, I agree. You've got to basically sharpen it that second and then go in if you want that real sharp lip line. However, for any sort of smudgy, blurred lip, we are not too worried about how neat it is. Then you can go in with like more of a smudging pencil, something more blind or a gel liner. I love this smudging, like smudging. That's exactly what I was going to say. She doesn't sound like a bold, precise lip kind of person. So I go for things that are sort of like a baby crayon or a chubby liner. Kelly is just popping her on there. I just kind of just draw around my lips on the edge though, not completely off. But you don't try and do it in one big line, like as in like a tracing ellipse. I'm doing feathers strokes. I just do little tiny little feathered strokes around. And then put something on and then you exchange it yourself in the mirror. I've got a few here that I like that are that kind of more blendable sm... It's like the lip version of a smoky eye.

33:50This is the N-Wayx Duck Plumple Lip Line. Don't worry, it's not like the lip plumper that I recommended that everyone said it was too hardcore. Hey, she bent my lips off with her recommendation. I know. I said it wasn't hardcore, but you know, to each their own. This one's almost like an angled eyeliner, but it's a lip liner. So I'll show you that one in a minute. But also this one, I have no idea what the brand is. I'm holding one that's again, like a little... Isn't that road crayon? No, it's not, but it looks like it. Or is it? Because there was one. It might be. Can I have a look? Well, I went to TK Max together. Remember our friends? Got some really good recommendations from TK Max? And I've got such good stuff. Oh, Ruby and Millie, but it's, yeah, peptide lip liner. They have copied. Well, I went to TK Max and I bought this great one. The reason I like it is it's got its own little smudgy thing on the end. So I'll get my mirror and I'll show you what I do. It's very haphazard, but I feel like you might like this. I start with being really cautious with the shape and then I look and if I feel like my lips are too drawn in,

34:51like it's made them almost look smaller, then I'll do the very outer edge on just the top, but not the cupid's way. Because I don't have a cupid's way. If you just draw one, because you do. Well, I don't have a very defined cupid's way. So if I drew one, I would look like McDonald's. So I literally would just do, she's just softly outlining the top lip, but not in the middle and her pencil has just broken. So very me. Were you pressing on that heart or, I think I wound it up a bit too high. I would never go half a centimeter to the, from the edge of the lip in, like the outer corner, because that's where you smudge. Yeah, and it just looks a bit clouty. Yeah, like the inner corner does not need it. There's shape I kind of hold is kind of like, you're like going to something like, that's the dumb story. Like it's not really describing. Smiley, it's not. Yeah. So she's still just kind of, it doesn't look like a very good quality pencil, because it's just, it's very hot everywhere. It's melting.

35:52That's okay though, because what I literally do, if I don't have a smudgey, is I would literally, just using her finger to smudge out that line. It's kind of diffused. Yeah, I might put a bit on my actual lip, but I feel like, then I feel like, if I put the pencil directly to my lip, it's too much pigment in the middle. I literally get a bit of my finger, and you don't like a shdang. It's hard to talk and do lip liner. And then I would just put a gloss on top, or I have used before, like a, you know the more like sort of waxy, like a bit of a blist text roll up, yet like it's more waxy, and it's not so slippy that it'll kind of lock it in, but give you some hydration. Should I put lip on? Should I put anything on top? No, that looks really nice. That's it. Yeah, I really like this one. I think that you and I've both shown kind of more modern, newer versions of lip liner as well. I think some people particularly, if they're not into lip liner, think of a very traditional sort of pencil that you sharpen with a sharpener. It looks like a pencil. I've got a few of those here. I don't really reach for these ones because I don't often have a sharpener.

36:53They're available, and they're great for precision, but I feel like if you get a slightly more forgiving, kind of very fine crayon, it'll be more of a nourishing waxy formula. But yeah, traditional ones still exist. And they're great. They're great. You just have to have a sharpener and then know where to put the sharpening things and then it goes off your bag. I've got one with the little case under it. Yeah, me too, but I lost a bit of the case that holds this stuff in. My other trick is you do the felt texture, but I will do it the night before. I will literally prep my lips and sleep in it because it's too pigmented for me to wear in the day, and then when I wake up the next morning, you know you can buy different shades. I use the cover girl like nude one. Oh, yeah. And then I wake up the next day, it's like my lip tattoos back. Oh, okay. That's a great tip, actually, to sleep in it. So I don't know if I've helped her there because it's not really lip line. It's just defining. I think for tests, this is one that definitely is kind of like practice makes perfect to just give yourself some time to play around and practice at home. And I think that it, out of all of the beauty techniques, it's quite easy to get.

37:54But it just will take a little bit of playing around for figuring out what style suits your face the most. And I think also just playing in store and making sure you're getting a really forgiving one. If anything like drags and is too chalky, it's not good quality and you don't want that kind of dragging on your lip. Excuse me, mine looks like this. They look better than yours, yes. It looks like I've been eating Cheetos. That's 10 from last night. They look better than Lise. 39:56of what the models now look like for the ad because my god, it is so juicy and it actually does look like that. It's just that I don't have a good representation. Oh, my drum, my drum, my drum. I got it from Mecca, $22. So it's not crazy, Cheap, but it's cheaper than my spending. The brand is called Manicurist and this is the Green Jelly Sugar Plum Nile Polish. This is what you put on for that really viral ultra glossy syrupy, like I just dipped my fingers in jelly a fact that I feel like I've seen so many nail products that advertise that they do that. And then I've tried it and I'm like, that's basically just a nail polish that I could choose from this alone. This makes you look like you've just dipped your nails in jelly. It is so cool and you can build it up. So it can be like quite opaque and real syrupy looking or it could just be like a really pretty wash on your natural nail. So does it stay that sort of super shiny that we use to use Instagram?

40:56But then when normal polish drives it shiny, but it's just not super glossy. It stays so glossy, it's so pretty. Oh, I could see that I could do that on my horrific nails. You absolutely could. Because that brand does a bunch of sort of just tinted nail hardness, I think there's like five and there's like a beige or soft pinky beige or soft rose. So if people that are trying to look after their nails, like sometimes me, but a tiny wash, they also do that, but that is good. And I was looking into the brand and they're good for your nail, nail products. Yes. So it doesn't have that super harsh stuff in it. It's a nail care brand. It's, thank you. That's the word that I was looking forward. Not that really harsh stuff. No, it's not going to make your nails like brittle. It helps them wash also, making the look like jelly syrup. Now, they brought out a product last year that was more like a gel. Like a lighter moisturizer. Yes, I love that product. So it wasn't rich enough for me. Yes. And I had given them that feedback. So that's why Stase was like, well, when they are. So they made out a new moisturizer just for you. I didn't just email them and say, you didn't ask. It can pull it. Paulie sausage, it's not rich enough. Get back in there. Paula, get cooking. Not rich enough for me. No, I just meant she knew that that's how I had felt. So she was like, Kelly, you are going to love this given that I'm dry dehydrated. But it feels like a gel. Yeah, it still feels. Do you have you played with this? 45:00but nourishing at the same time. Like melty. Melting into your skin, I use it under makeup as well as at night time. It makes, it's one of those moisturizers that really does just instantly plump and juice your skin right up and make it feel like you just went, Bing! Yeah. Which is what I want from a moisturiser. Yeah. I just want it to be, Bing, back into place. Like, yes. Like that. Exactly. So it's $74 in an elus pump, which is good. And how many meals? 50. That's really good. Well, it's, you know, actually, you know, life is crazy saying that. But mine has last me a long time and I know my husband mostly uses it. But when an elus pump, it's hard to overuse because you've got to physically like putt and, you know, the one little squirch, rather than scoop or like pours. Is enough for your entire face and neck. Anyway, I am so impressed and I have been loving this product so much. It is beautiful. You can't see what it's about to run out though. You have to go by way. That's what stresses me out. Yeah. True.

46:01Yeah. But hey, it's just makeup. And then you were like, is there any left at the bottom? But the way that elus pumps are designed is that you get every last scaric. Think of like when you're doing like a cold press or like a coffee thing and you push it all the way down. Yeah, it's like to the bottom. So you could there. Okay, my spendy is a serum. Oh, similar to that. I think this is skincare quaints today. Yes, I don't understand the name of this, but I'll explain it anyway. It's the Keele's one CC, Cola Shot Plum Serum. It's $19.00. Is it color correcting? No. So it's relatively new. It's $19.00 and it promises to visibly plum. This skin like you want. Bloop. Oh, it was your noise. Yeah. Bing. Because it's targeting collagen loss. Okay. Now it's all around how you think of that because you can't apply collagen topically and get it back into your skin and get bloop. But what it can do is, what skincare can do is sort of send messages to the receptors that make collagen that go like, wake up a little bit. Hello.

47:01Make more. Yes. Yeah. Like wake up. Work harder. Correct. No one wants to work anymore. Like Kim Kardashian, get up and work. That's basically what they do. I've only had this for maybe two weeks and I've used it seven times. I don't know about the long term effects but I don't sleep. I don't do anything to help myself at all. Eat some McDonald's too much. Excuse me. It's my safe food. What, because I had it at 11am today. Yeah. She was like, oh, just getting some food. I'm like, I should have known. I'm only a bit of McDonald's member. I just can't be bothered signing up and I go four times a week anyway back to the serum. I've been using it in the morning so another serum, whatever. And then I've been using this as my moisturizer again because I'm combo and then I'm doing my sunscreen. It's a swear at pumps at the time. I'm not talking to the long term effects because I haven't used it for long enough. But once I tried it a few times, I thought, oh, sugar, I better go check the price because you know when I pay out emails to you and you're like, yeah, yeah, I'll try it. I was thinking it would be like $1.80. $19.90. Oh, so you pleasantly surprised by the price.

48:01I am. It's $200 is a lot for anything and a lot for skincare that's gonna last, you know, three to four months. Oh, okay, it's one CC, but it's not like a color correcting CC. No, little caps, not big caps. Yes. It looks more like what you would say is in my breasts, CC. He always been back on my radar since you've been talking about the avocado eye balm eye cream. It's really nice. I don't know if it'll be too lightweight for you, but it is a moisturizer, but it's a serum. I like it though. You use it as a step. As a step? I would definitely use it as a serum. I wouldn't use that as a moisturizer, but it's beautiful. I'm not recommending to use it off-script like I do, not the serving suggestion, but it does something. Well, I've just put it on my cheeks. Do I look? Oh, my God. Yes, I haven't got trouble. No, I'm joking. It's really beautiful. It's really easy to use. I accidentally kept using it at night because I wasn't really thinking and I'm sure long-term it would do stuff, but when I want my face to look fresher than it does, two minutes before, I've been using this in the mix. I sure do and I used it so much last week when I was traveling and I was in Singapore, it was very humid. The plane's very short space of time, too long-haul, not long-haul, but long-ish flights. My, my, my, my skin, drunk this up and I've been using it a lot ever since as well. So the Lenege Cream Skin Serup Peptide Mist. So it is the first in the Lenege range where it's kind of like a toner, slash cream essence hybrid. It's quite a unique product, but it doesn't feel at all like a, like it's definitely a mist, right? It's definitely a mist and I've used it to refresh my makeup. Oh. Well, I just did. I think that some, you know how some misch is just like, oh yeah, that's nice.

50:02This actually is like a drink for your skin. Yes, I agree. And that's what I was looking for and why I love it so much. So it's packed full of peptides and ceramides and it is really soothing, but just super hydrating as well. And I love that you couldn't, like at $16 for this little 30 mil one. And so I've been using this for a few weeks and I've still got a fair bit left, but you can then buy a big one to do refills as well. Yeah. I put it in the same category as the road mist, but the road mist is definitely thicker and more occlusive. That's thinner in texture. But it gives you the same sort of nourishment. Exactly. Yeah, it's really good. I bought that last week, so great minds. I just go straight to the minis anyway. Minis, I love minis. Oh my god, minis everything. Okay, so a few weeks ago, I think you were here. I've forgotten. No, it was one week. I was talking about the Maybelline pencil liner that I love. Yes. And I got a lot of DMs about eyeliner. One from a makeup artist that I know quite well, he names me a Connor. And she knows that I've traditionally always been a liquid girl. Anyway, she said, Lee, I've got to show you.

51:03I've launched some liquid eyeliners. Anyway, she sent them over. I like the packaging. Oh my god, me too. They're pretty great. There's a brown in the black. It's like a beautiful red old Hollywood pen. It's that fine tip, Felty one. I've got the black on today. This is the brown. The brown is great because it's like a... Ooh, I know. You can really get a lot of precision. It's almost like a calligraphy pen, not that I've ever done calligraphy. Just a new spare time. If one of us was to do calligraphy, it would be me with my many hobbies. Excuse me, I actually have done calligraphy before. Do you know that my handwriting is a font for Cosmopolitan magazine? Your handwriting is beautiful. It doesn't surprise me. It's not anymore, because I can't write. Because you never write. Not whenever it does, yeah. Anyway, these are really beautiful.
