Hey folks, this is Artificial Lore.

You're go-to-guy for fishing the Detroit River and Lake Erie waters around here.

It's early March 6, 2026 and springs knocking, fish are stirring up from the lake to spawn

in the river.

Weathers looking crisp, highs around 35 degrees Fahrenheit, light northwest winds at 10-15

miles per hour, partly cloudy skies, perfect for bundling up and hitting the water without

freezing your bait off.

Sunrise was at 7.15am, sunset around 6.45pm, so dawn and dust bites gonna be hot.

No real tides here in freshwater, but water level study from recent flows, keeping things

moving.

Wall eyes the star right now, big runs of 14 to 18 inches, two to five pounders average,

some 10 pound trophies pushing up river.

Limits are getting filled quick, with perch and pike mixing in.

Sturgeon are showing too, those dino relics up the 100 pounds in deep holes, catching release

for the monsters, actions picking up daily as water warms, best setups, coal crawler

harnesses, where deep dive in crank baits, slow near bottom bouncers, intend to 30 feet

over rocky drop-offs.

Jigminos are night crawlers for wall eyed bites, that tap, tap will test you.

For Sturgeon, heavy gear with cut bait or big worms anchored deep, hot spots, wine dot

stretch of the Detroit River for walleye stacks, and the Lake Erie Metro Park mouth where

river meets lake, structures loaded.
