The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a familiar spot this offseason, holding their breath for

Aaron Rodgers to say if he'll return for a second season.

The Super Bowl champs want answers soon, especially with the 2026 NFL draft, just five weeks

away in Pittsburgh.

Rodgers has said there's no firm deadline, but the team hopes to sort out their quarterback

plans before picking players.

To bolster the offense, Pittsburgh signed wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and running

back Rico Doudal in free agency.

They did lose running back Kenny Gainwell, their top receiver from last year, but these

moves add speed and depth around whoever leaves the huddle.

Former Steelers star Ben Raffisberger recently chimed in on the quarterback fog hanging

over the team.

He pointed out the mystery since his own retirement in 2021, when stability at the position started

slipping.

Still, he sounds confident it will work out.

Right now, second year quarterback Will Howard has zero game snaps under his belt, and Mason

Rudolph brings limited potential.

The Steelers hold a dozen draft picks and might grab a new arm, though grabbing a veteran

stopgap makes sense with a deeper quarterback class coming.

In 2027, as the draft clock ticks down, Pittsburgh's front office days patient, betting their

loader roster will sway Rodgers back into the mix for another run.
