On a Sunday morning of the people, as we were morning, he moved morning God. I hope I'm so out. It is September 4th from Oakland, also within. Hold the vision of the facturing harmony and beauty ever before you and see it in everything and everyone. Let the love within you bubble over like water and flow to all the night. There be no discrimination in you but all are of me. All are one family. Universal love starts within each individual and works its way out. When the individual realises it and allows that love to flow freely, great changes will come about in the world. For it is love that transmutes all hatred, jealousy, envy, criticism and greed. These are the qualities that cause war, destruction and death.
Love creates life, life everlasting, life abundant. Love brings with it peace, joy and true and lasting happiness and contentment. Above all it brings unity and warmth. So if you have wandered off into the highways and byways and lost your way, come back to the power of love which leads straight to me and there you will find me waiting deep within you. I prefer to be in that instead of hatred, jealousy, envy, criticism and greed. They are not good qualities either. Sometimes we are not saints. We try to progress not perfection. I think on the whole if I try not to harm people, I pause when I am agitated, don't say
the first thing in my head. Then I have a better chance of letting God's will flow in for me instead of my own ego. It takes practice to work the principles of all your affairs. But I am glad that I am aware of when I am not feeling quite right, that I will pause and not say what I want to. I don't want to harm anyone anymore. I don't like it. If I have upset someone I feel really bad for days, I will try and go more towards the love than the fear. If that is the two main what they call, what are the emotions that we feel and everything else you can, every other thing, it is either from love or from hate or fear.
Then you can start working out why we are in our fellowships because we were full of fear and resentment. We needed to release those in order to find the love again. I step forward, continued. Yet my mother is still hung back. We said, why can't God as we understand Him tell us where we are a stray? If the Creator gave us our lives in the first place, then He must know in every detail where we have since gone wrong. Why don't we make our admissions to Him directly? Why do we need to bring anyone else into this? At this stage, the difficulties of trying to deal right with God by ourselves are twofold. Though we may at first be startled to realize that God knows all about us, we are apt to get used to that quite quickly. Somehow being alone with God doesn't seem as embarrassing as facing up to another person. Until we sit down and talk aloud about what we have so long hidden, our willingness
to clean houses is largely theoretical. When we are honest with another person, it confirms that we have been honest with ourselves and with God. The second difficulty is this, what comes to us alone may be garbled by our own rationalisation and wishful thinking. The benefit of talking to another person is that we can get His direct comment and counsel on our situation. And there can be no doubt in our minds what that advice is. Going at a low in spiritual matters is dangerous. How many times have we heard well intentioned people claiming the guidance of God when it was all to blame that they were sorely mistaken? Lacking both practice and humility, they had deleted themselves and were able to justify the most arant nonsense on the ground that this was what God had told them. It is worth noting that people are very high spiritual development, almost always insist on checking with friends or spiritual advisors. The guidance they feel they have received from God. Surely then, Anob is not only himself open to the chance of making foolish perhaps
tragic blunders in this fashion. Well, the comment or advice of others may be by no means infallible. It is likely to be far more specific than any direct guidance we may receive while we are still in experience, in establishing contact with the power greater than ourselves. Our next problem will be to discover the person whom we are to confide. Surely we ought to take much care, remembering the pudences of actually which carries a high rating. Perhaps we shall need to share with this person facts about ourselves, which no others ought to know. We shall want to speak with someone who has experienced who not only has stayed drive, has been able to surmount other serious difficulties, difficulties perhaps like our own. This person may turn out to be one sponsor, but not necessarily so. If you have developed a high confidence in him and his temperament and problems are close to your own, then such a choice will be good, besides your sponsor already has the advantage of knowing something about your case.
Perhaps lower your relation to him is such that you would care to reveal them a part of your story. If this is the situation by Omen's do so, for you ought to make a beginning as soon as you can. It may turn out however that you'll choose someone else for the more difficult and deeper revelations. This individual may be entirely outside of a, for example, your clergyman or your doctor. For some of us, a complex, a complete stranger may prove the best bet. The real test of the situation or your own willingness to confide in your full confidence in the one with whom you share your first actulet self-serving. Even when you found the person, it frequently takes great resolution to approach him or no one ought to say that a programme requires no willpower. Here is one place you may require all you've got. Happily though, the chances are that you will be in for a very pleasant surprise. When your mission is carefully explained and is seen by the recipient of your confidence, how helpful he can really be, the conversation will start easily and will soon become eager.
Before long, your listener may well tell a story or two about himself, which will play should even more ease. Provided you hold back nothing, your sense of relief or mount for a minute to minute, the damned up emotions of years break out of their confinement and miraculously vanish as soon as they are exposed, as the pain subsides, a healing trans-tramm, quality takes this place. When humility and serenity are so combined, something else, a great moment is apt to occur. Many an A.A. once ignores to carry this, tell us that it was during the stage of step 5 that he first actually felt the presence of God. And even those who had faith already often become conscious of God as they never were before, this feeling of being at one with God and man is emerging from isolation through the open and honest sharing of our terrible burden of guilt brings us to a resting place where we may prepare ourselves for the following steps toward a full and meaningful subride.
It's interesting, isn't it, that in those when it was written, people did perhaps take it to someone on the top side of their own, but it's much more traditional now, isn't it, that you say the whole lot to your sponsor, but it happens that people that have shared most of the majority of it with their sponsor, if they've taken something else to a professional in the case of such a abuse, where they've helped with the sponsor, wouldn't have the correct terminology to help them on it. And that's the barogative of the person doing the step, which is acceptable. And it did say in there, if you don't feel able to share, at least make a start. And then on the other hand, it says, be fearless and thorough from the start. So for me personally, I chose one person and I said everything to them.
And they helped me because they gave me examples of their story before I started to give me identification so that I was brave enough to save some of my awful stuff. And I do feel the presence of a higher power when I did my step five and when I received them. I do feel that. So it's something that's not, for me, it's not going to the dentist. I love it when I'm finished because I know that the work's been done and actually our dentist is really good, so I don't fear it as much now. But it's obviously not the most comfortable feeling in the world, but I did get an immense feeling for a little when it was over. Did you? Clear. Just go to that. Yeah. And don't leave out that thing that you think is too bad to bear because not tell
us how your sponsor's done it. You know, I mean, don't you forget a lot of stuff don't you? I mean, when I did my step five, you know, I was just thinking about the kind of recent stuff. And you know, years later, I've come to mind nothing. I did some harm there, actually, to be known, my step five. I don't know, I forgot. You know, but you can do something about it. You know, maybe it would do harm to do something about it, but you know, it doesn't mean that it can only change anything. It doesn't mean I'm going to pick up a drum, you know, just because I missed some of my steps four or five. It's just get it done. Did it do as best you can and don't be putting it off for a few of it not been perfect? Yeah. Thanks, Al. Thanks, Al. Have a great day, before the... Thanks, Al.
