And then you know the scenes on Friday were
Incredibly special. I don't care what anybody says you've got to admire
Everything about that and then yeah, yes to these games at a fraction disappointing but overall quality quality football
Yeah, we're going to get to that one of those games very shortly raging ball. Hello mate
You know, I just kind of get the mental picture of really having a swim weatheries
Where's sluggahs gody always sluggahs thong
Bored shoulder the old-fashioned bathing suits, you know, I reckon it's sluggahs the old-day baths
Now
Okay, well, that's cool, Brent. Well, I don't know mate. Well, you say you from hip switch
You know from every night. He's not from hip switch mate. He's from good now. He's from good now. He's from good now
Just call him. Yeah, good from the nation's capital. My it's hip switch city council mate. That's what you say
Well, you say from you're not from it switch
Well, I'm not from Mossman, so I don't know where you get your mouth from, but as for the usually I didn't say that you
I just said you're not from hip switch and you just
We did a good old-fashioned water battery, but but but no, you're not from it. So, just don't say you from it switch
Well, you're not from Australia, so you go
I'm sorry that he is
He doesn't claim that he's busy now. No, don't tell me. No, he does. I'm actually more whips, which is near double
I've been good enough 15 years
And you can tell and you can actually tell
Oh
I only rent read from good now. No, I love hip switch. I live there married and if you go love it never leaving there
Greatest place in the world the nation's capital, but good now. It would be really good if you never left there because I mean you wouldn't be in here
I know
We're going to start with the North Queensland cowboys and and I will say
The eighth wonder of the world like art oval it was in full
Sunshine bay that looked so good and I know there's the critics one of them's in this room who doesn't like
Like
Your tone ready
With this why do you like after the crowd every time that you know every time the
Scoreboard changes the score. They're all doing spirit fingers at it the whole
Whole scene is it is epic why are you such a naysayer on it because the fans has a better job
I understand they love it and they appreciate it, but have you ever been the relic?
It's a relic of a boy
You're talking about the urinals and the corporate facilities the Wi-Fi the facility
About the Wi-Fi at the foot of the it's sub-standard and the games gone past grounds like Li-Cut
Because it was a sellout yesterday. It was a sellout look
I've come round them playing two games a year their maximum
Two and that's it no more
Because the games move beyond places like Li-Cut. You'd be Santa Claus ready. No, no, no
Look, we saw the scenes on
That want to be nostalgic and walk down like they did with their dads and their grandfathers
And if it's and if it's one off and it doesn't look like you know the flashest toy or a legend stadium
The fans love it is the game for the fans or is it for you and your Wi-Fi and all those fans
You get locked out because it doesn't hold enough people. What about them Gordy?
Play two games a year there, but that's it
Okay, just be just I just want to pick you up on something you made this coming on Friday night
What a spectacle and what a ground it is you understand that the roosters won't let any other club share it like they say they just
It's not their ground. It's the government's ground
They didn't have any input into blocking south
Of course they tried to block the government decision dobo not not the roosters the decision
So you don't think Nick had anything to do with it at all. I'm sure Nick
Um, does he's best? Well the roosters people the roosters do the best
So don't use that as a benchmark
That is a well I can it's a state government ground oboe. It's not the roosters ground. They don't own the ground
Well, then why didn't they let south back because because the governments of the view
That's also got to deal with the core stadium. Yeah, long-term deal
And they would need to break that deal to go back to early on stadium on a full-time basis
They will eventually be back there
Do you think they'll let any other club use that as their as their core facilities as well as their head?
I'm sure they protest dobo. I'm sure they would but again, it's not their decision. I keep telling you that it's the state government decision
Just on the just on the attendance for yesterday
I don't know if another ground in Sydney would have had the level of demand for tickets to see the cowboys be the tigers respectively speaker
I know it's round one like yeah, if you look at all the other ground like would conbank have got 16 in like
No chance no hold on if the tigers get in a roll, which I expect they will this year
I'm saying I'm happy for them to have two games a year at light card
Okay, I'll come round to that dobo, but that's my limit
But you can't tell me if this club gets on a roll this year that they won't feel conbank. They will
No matter who they're playing against the Sydney club even if the plan against the Gold Coast Titans
They'll pull a decent crowd of conbank stadium. That was not
Early that was not
We don't have a clue. Why would he do that straight up? It's the bottom line. Yeah, he's just wanting to give you
This club has been starved to success for so long if they get a roll win 40 games, which as I said I expect they will do
They'll feel conbank stadium. They've got that many fans out there the tigers who just been waiting for this club to get in a roll
Like
Good light cards going they had a DJ in the media box yesterday. That's how good they're going
There weren't media in there. There was a DJ in there. Give me a break. Good. How good
The bike is there spin in these decks in the
Buses new job
Hey, what's the buzz just sitting there spinning the day anyway. That's just for great. Yes. I know. Let's talk a little bit about
Let's talk a little bit about that. I
I would start. I think we need it not how great the West Tigers are because I think a lot of people
I think the cowboys and I don't want to start up the two weeks
But they have got some serious question marks around what what do you think?
They were beaten by new castle in Las Vegas
And then they were humiliated yesterday now there is we will get later in the show
We're going to talk about the six against but to me
There is already question marks now about Todd Peyton and the longevity of his coach in career at North Queensland
If this is the way they're going to go
Brett ready. I'll start with you. There is pressure already mounting this side. Yeah, they demand
They demand winning in North Queensland. Goody. You're born and bred there. You know it. Yeah, it's very proud area right and
You bought like you're born loving Rugby League
It is the number one game in North Queensland and
Talking to Todd and I can only go back to what they spoke about on three sixty one Raven Vegas
And they want to make the community proud so they want to start representing
What it is and it's a hard working blue collar area and
um
I thought in round one. I thought they did ever go and the nights in Kalam Ponga were just
Better right? Yep at certain things and then
To go to like heart oval and the tigers first game and when they got on a roll
I don't think that the cowboys gave up. I thought they were in and then drink water
They didn't accept probably was the turning point because he you know
It threw a couple and then right at the end and
To me with no Rubin Koda so I'm going to give them an excuse. I'm going to give them away out here
With no Rubin Koda. They looked a bit slow in the middle
The tigers were playing the ball too quick from you you're right there Gordon and
I'm with you yesterday's game
You know, we're going to talk about six against the the the the the ports and milling in my opinion of cut of a Donald
Um no cutter
There are some reasons there to it to why that um that performance and that result happened um
But I don't think there was any reason for the new castle performance um and we look at the back like
We put a snapshot of last year that there's no reason for why that squad
Wouldn't play finals and I think the general consensus in north Queensland at the cowboys
And from you know aspiring NRL coaches would be I can take that team to be a top 8 team absolute minimum
So yes granted yesterday all the reasons are there there's none for Vegas
And there's none really that spring out to you for last year as well
And that for is the reason why I believe they would we all knew coach Payton
What was was needing results?
Well, he did do in the offseason Jimmy
You were all the coaching stuff
Well, I did a it wasn't a proper review
As opposed to in it. Yeah, as opposed. Yeah, but but look obviously those two fixes to begin the season
You're most cowboys people would have thought well
We're gonna get to we're gonna get to victories here if we're serious if we're gonna see
Um a 10 around it in our fortunes
It's difficult to lose against two sides that weren't playing finals last year one of those being the spooners
In the nights and and not come away with even a one even it even if they were one and one
The question marks would still be there. We'll we'll be pushing the can down the road a little bit a little bit
Yeah, I mean, he's like he was under immense pressure coming to the year
Then you come out and lose your first two games and they didn't play well and I know you said there were excuses yesterday Jimmy
Um, I thought they showed a complete lack of resilience at times like I know there's a lot of six against
In the game at the moment, but you've got to say some fight and some resilience
So I did that show you in that game the do we try to do we go in between
So I think it was he'll I'm lucky
But to be honest, I didn't I thought it was playing. I was a bit shocked that try went in or you know
You sort of turn away from the television for a split second and he's in what do you mean? It's a try. I thought he was held up
So I know the pressure just intensifies every week when you know got the gold coast next week
And that's a game if they lose that the then go they then got Melbourne
They could be oh and four and then you would say it's good and I think it's curtains in right for time because I think we all for
Yeah, the standard time frame is eight to ten weeks, but if you're oh and four oh and five will
Yeah, you're not gonna turn around from there. So
As I said, he was under immense pressure coming into the year
They did that reviewing the offseason. I think we're all watching them. He was the coach
Nominate is the most under pressure and nothing
Well, I mean, I've no caught a no-no. Nano is well. Yes, they he's still out and here's a huge player for them
German and I think I think what they've got to do is you know the one guy
Reckon needs to get more balls Jackson purge you
I think they're gonna make a big call with him. You either play him at six or you play him at one
And I know he wants to play at six he wants to play at six. I reckon he's one
So you move drink water. I would keep him so so like one with your body
I know it's hard
But I'd move drinking up because when purge you went back against the night
That's when they scored the points and I think for a young guy to go and run a team
I think it's more of a soft opening like when you play fallback you make decisions and you can get there
But you're not making all of them
So you learn and you're craft and you know, you still do and you're apprenticeship as a leading and a part of the spine
But you're not
Under the Cosh as my friend James Graham would say where I think
Put me young kid in at number six
At this stage
Might be healthy for him. There is a school thought that he will be a very good fallback
I know there's another club who've looked even that way
And there's a belief that he would be a great number one. What's interesting about Jackson purge you double
He still hasn't taken up that contract. He's got a contract on the table. He's off contract the end of this year
I believe it is there's a long-term deal on the table for him
He has not taken that deal up. I think most people expect him to stay
I think from a guy. I don't think he's a North Coins header. I always find it very very very doubtful that he's going to leave there
What are you doing?
The book and confidence for the book at list items that the Cowboys need to address
Look, I'm with you. I think
Pado does have a role to play and maybe
Where he starts the game or what position he lines up on or the number on his back
I think there are more
More pressing priorities at the Cowboys than moving Jackson Perry. Well defensively. Yeah, well, they got to get some resilience to me
That's what we that's what you prefer to the resilience, you know, I thought
Jimmy do you think I mean sometimes people talk about resilience and that they go
Well, they're not playing for the coach
Well, I can sometimes those two things can go hand in hand because if you're playing for the coach you dig in you have a go
When you're under pressure? Yeah, or playing get out or playing for each other. Goody. That's the other
Like so let's throw that all in one because
Being a really close unit when you just tie in and
Johnny Lang told me a long time ago and it's just and it's stuck and the great players go just in case they need it
Yeah, they do need it and and and when they're defending and all that kind of stuff
They just go and they just keep on their wheels and you know, we've watched Tommy did and chase you know
Cell on Cobbow and all those things
Is that in this current group of guys? I think we I saw glimpses of that in around one against Newcastle
I thought they were they were desperate. There was a couple of like in terms of their scramble
There was a couple of you know missed moments of
of willingness of competing and we look at the
The fletch of sharp try the Greg Marge you tried it there they were out competed
Um in those particular moments, but I think yesterday just it was it was a pure fatigue thing
And they looked zapped. I'll get absolutely like three o'clock. It was a hot day
No, no, no, no, that's not an excuse. Yeah, I know. I know. It's not like you know North Queensland. Yeah, it's even yeah
Yeah, they have their preseason chickens like hardball eggs. That's how it is up there
So you can't use
Can I say just on the cowboys in the six again?
Just on the get it just on the cowboys in the six again. I believe it's boy didn't get that joke
We are going to talk about that. We are going to talk about that
With the cowboys in the six again
Later because I've got some info on that double
Yeah, I'm just told that for and we'll bring that up
Can we just talk about how exciting that West Tigers were? I know it was round line
They
They play like that. They coach that lacking goal for some reason. It's just
Like you're sitting there and you're watching it and I know really
Okay, you'd boost anaclos, but that's romantic. I'm sitting on the couch
And it's a great view. It's great viewing. It's great entertainment. I sit there
You watch all of them. There's kids and dads and
And the Tigers you know what they've had some really tough years and last year
Was one of all me, you know with players leaving and what's happening and
You know, and then you know, do they re-sign Benji and all that but I was I was so happy for
For the Tigers and West Tigers faithful yesterday to turn up there and watch their side perform like that
Yeah, that was very good. They already served a barbecue
You know, it was it was was really noticeable how um
The the Tigers attitude to just
Nailed down and and put the Cowboys to the to the sword. Yeah, we talk about the six against but 21 offloads
It really it really appears as though
um
The the Tigers are coming with this offload game
Um to the loss. Excuse me, haven't I very much the license, you know, you're like 12 with three
May with four Luai with four
Um, La Lily with a couple um
Yeah, you know the entire squad have that
Ability in license to offload the footballman when you look at six against what make what compounds that what makes it even more difficult
You're already on the back foot. You're already sucking in the big ones. You're already
Fatigue in the legs and the lungs and you know once the team comes into contact and then get some second phase going that
That is the nail in the coffin that is
Making your life incredibly difficult and the Tigers just had an attitude to
Show no mercy to to the Cowboys and if they can continue that
I think they've got some issues defensively that can be worked on and can be fixed up
But you know if you look at trends in the game around where it's going and
The Cowboys if if they can get blood in the water if they can get that that scent
Continue that offload football because none of them were really
Really too dangerous. They were all pretty safe offloads
We've all got that license. It was brilliant to watch it was I thought the house would write to you
To own plan at six
rather than seven look like
If freedom up a little bit, although I know obviously that's there
They think of where the halves all at last year. Latu found who played there
I've gotten someone else played there. I can't remember it wasn't the top of my head
But those two guys if they can play 24 games together in the halves
Lock you go over lock you go of course. Yeah, I got a good point
But those two guys can play 24 games or 20 games together in the halves
I think they're a big chance of playing finals for the Tigers big chance. I agree. I agree
We are going to talk coming up next the six again, and is it ruining the game? This is the Sunday sinbed on triple M
From McDonald's and Riemhaw Mordor triple M
Roxford
This is the Sunday sinbed
I welcome back to triple M Sunday sinbed ahead of two games this afternoon
Manly taking on new Castle Anthony Merrim will be your call on that one then the dolphins take on the Titans
That's the last game of round two
Brent Reed James Graham Gordon Tullis Bendob and with you for the next four hours and the six again
Well, some are saying it's ruining the game some are saying it's making the game more entertaining after yesterday
Tom did and Todd Peyton had this to say around their frustration about the six again
I like the way that the game was referencing Vegas
We're different to this one today
but it's spring
fatigue into the game and the game's faster
The most frustrating bit is like when it happens you don't like you don't know what it's for
So like I know we just start the game I'm pretty sure we had like three or four like back to back
But it's not like they call them six again and then tell us what it's for like we're just seeing the seeing the arm go up
And like our jobs to to keep turning up and but to start the game we had we had no clue like what the six agains were for
And I think we made like 12 or 14 tacos in a row to start the game had no idea what we're going on
Yeah, that was Tom did and Todd Peyton after yesterday's lost they were beating 44 points to 16
So far the eels put 40 points on the broncos the warriors put 40 points on the raiders
The the trucks and rabbits was a bit closer, but the tigers put 44 points on the cowboys
Then the storm put 46 points on the dragons and then last night
Obviously sharks and pantas they put 26 points
There is a lot more points being scored after two weeks than what it was last year now is that
Fatigue I think it is because of this six again teams are having to do more defending and at the back in the games
They're getting blown out of the park is this a good thing for the game. I'll start with you Gordon tell us
Do you like the rule changes and what it's done in the game changes? They're just policing the rules
Well every coach through the preseason is trying to get your team
Your players to bend the rule. Well, they've changed it from the 20 to the 40 meter line like that's cool
Yeah, that's one we as a game. We are never happy
Do we remember when Melbourne storm were winning all those competitions
And just being big end of condos and choking sides out of it
And given away penalties and Cameron Smith walking up and wasting 30 seconds from the referee
Do we forget those times
Go back and watch that
And then watch the product today
It's a much better product stop winging about the six again. Do you know the sharks
They got the most six again. That was 10
Pen with four there was 72 do you want 72 penalties?
No, do we want to be either policing it James Graham right right in the rules
Well, look listening to Tommy dead and um the whole point um and reading was mentioned it
You know just offer the whole point of the six again. It's to stop the penalty
Like Gordon Tarras just said so there's no time for an explanation or it's a rookie infringement
That that's basically what it is you you're not gonna you know go on of the days of
Bringing the captain over which Tommy did and is okay. This is what happened tell your players stop doing it
Um, look, it's just time wasting. We're okay. What we can say it are there too many
Well, if you're a coach
Just you can gain a competitive advantage
By being smarter in the rook and not conceding
So that's what the you know the coach that quick
Quick and decide up to speed with this the fastest
You're could gain a competitive advantage or if like Gordon said if you pampered with panthers that have
An absolute masterclass in defense
You have the ability to stop this look the thing. I don't like from the the tigers again
The tigers cowboys game was the simbiting. I thought tyo donna was um
Horsely treated it in that instance. I thought he was arguably got back square at marker folded back
He didn't engage contact with apicara style. I was subsequently sent to the bin
I don't think he's done anything wrong there
I go to the penrith chronol game penrith give us six again
In the tackle and then they give another six again and it happened twice in the same play
I'd rather see somebody simbind
For that as opposed to someone trying to get back on side and not initiating contact James you're the last guy to retire
Is it encouraged if you're under the pump if you don't have my man to where they got stuff to slow him down
And maybe give some six against and try to upset him. Yes, is it encouraged?
But just like given away penalties was encores Gordon like that's right
Yeah, so it obviously situation dependent
On tri-line specifically it would be we'd rather concede a penalty than a quick rook because usually speaking a quick rook
Increases
The probability of a try being conceded. So why would we concede that we're safer to concede a penalty
There you go and a slow down so that's so that's the problem right so so the fatigue yesterday
You talked about the fatigue yesterday then they get the simbiting
There's the mitigating circumstances with the cowboys because no team
And I challenge any team to have that kind of start and then lose a player and that kind of heat when they're on the back foot not going so well
So that would give some explanation, but
Is it killing the guy that come back? Yeah, but
Like all have you got about all we've got to get better in defense now people can say well the panthers were very good in defense
They had the most you know again, so they were very good in defense when you do
Even Meyer I haven't played since the dinosaurs were around
You were encouraged to hold them down longer to bend the rules
There was a wrestling coach to slow them down to try to get event and when you
When someone's better than you and they you know and you don't get your timing right they beat you with
Footwork and you don't get the grip or the collision right
You're scrambling so on the ground you start reaching more and overreacting tool
To a wrestle well, it's happening more
And then you want to slow the play the ball down. That's your whole
Gal in defense is to slow them down so your guys can get back
So you're trying to cheat
And as well Gordon in attack
Your goal is to fight for a quick play the ball play the ball and then
So you know what I'd like to see you know we look at stats and we've got obviously
Alex Johnson broke the record
I'd like to see a stat for and I think recruitment officers and head coaches will be looking
A stat that says six against one
By by a certain player in the play the ball because certain players would fight harder
For a quick play the ball which encourages
Opposition players to slow them down and gain a six again. I think it's become
Well six wins. What about six games given away?
Well, it's probably players have to be prone to lying in the right too long
But that would just that would be not too dissimilar to a penalty
But six against one by certain individuals
I think how he grant would would be high up that in terms of
Exploiting
Laziness or I'll be talking again the number nine is that win six against for their side or the
The forwards are get through power through the line
Fight for a quick play the ball receiver six again
I think I'd love to see that on fox on nine play the
Six against one by certain individual hey double just quickly on what Tommy said about
The the lack of explanation for six against
I believe the intervals reviewed all those six against yesterday and there was an explanation given
For each one now might have been given to Tommy because Tommy's obviously out in the back line
You can't stop the stop the game to bring him over to to
To explain it to the captain, but in all those situations the explanations were given at the time
Why there's why there was this six again and Todd Peyton had sports is on or had someone in his box with sports is on
He would have heard that and the second thing is I believe the sin-bending
My understanding was that
Who's a referee again? Was it
At the grand act and yes
I believe that can's tried to warn Tommy at the time before that
infringement but Tommy for whatever reason
um, I believe
Didn't acknowledge it
The answer that happened to go to me at six again. Yes
There's a 10-minute try to warn him at the time minutes that there's another one someone's going to go and that happened
I'm all I'm all for that really if it's across the board
But I thought that was harsh on the cowboys because I thought it was harsh to team it
I've been a big proponent of multiple six against conceded should result in a penalty especially on trial line
But but
Other one context to it. I thought was hard to get to get to get sin-bending for repeated six against that
I think is hard to get in that the referee trying
gain control
Right and I'd rather that right like
Do you want 26 against or just say stop it. We know what you're doing. You're going to the bin
Stop it. I look I'm with you. Like I said, I think a coach. We'll be looking at this and saying we need to
We need to clean our act up here. Otherwise, we are going to be punished
But then there's still that that thought process of we can't afford to concede quick rules
And and maybe that is a way the the policing of it like that gaudy
But I just think it 10 minutes into the contest. That's too soon too soon to pull the trigger on 10 minutes in the bin
You know had it a bit you know had that trend of continued later into the game. I just think 10 minutes is
Is too short time frame? I
I agree
I do think though and ready
You believe this will all calm down a little bit when they bring new things in it always
I mean, remember when they were sinbiting for high shots and then they all like there will be a correction of some sort that
Or teams are just I mean exactly there is there is there is obviously at the moment
It we're round two so teams are trying to push the envelope for fraction
Of course, they're trying to get away with everything that they can and so once that they've been consistent
I don't know if the games in Vegas were refereed differently to this week
And just on that Todd's right
But not every referees the same
Well, I had grandadkins over not so not every referees the same and every game is totally different
Yeah, you don't want everybody to try to referee like bill harrigan in the day or whatever
They've got to go out there. They got to get a rub of the green. We got to grow up with that
And no, I remember going to a toss and a referee go well guys and then every game just evolves
And they're gonna get the feel for that game not what happened on Thursday night
Yeah, and then a coach sit there and go oh god
It wasn't refereed the same as Thursday night. No, because it's two different teams. It's a different referee
Yeah, and that game's not perfect
You've been dobbin. Well, that's thank you for pointing that out have a look at yourself
We're gonna take a break come back. We're gonna talk bulldogs. What's going on with Bronson cherry?
This is the Sunday sim bin on triple M
Teamwork
camaraderie
respects
All qualities you won't find on this show
Is that a Sunday sim bin
What about triple M someday sim bin Gordon talus James groan Brent read bend over with you
Anthony maroom will be calling manly taking on the new cuss when I was following that we'll have the dolphins
taking on the goal goes titans
Well, yesterday it went like a wildfire that Bronson cherry it asked for a release immediately
then
on
Twitter or x
Phil ghoul comes out and quote this is what I know just spoke with Bronson in his management neither
Bronson cherry nor his manager has asked for a lease neither
Bronson nor his manager has spoken to the media neither can explain where the media story had started
Bronson. Oh, we having breakfast together tomorrow. That's today before training
Bronson will be at training with the NRL squad tomorrow as per usual. Not sure what else I can tell you
Well
Was very very well structured and well written Brent read. I'm gonna go to you straight up with because
Bulldogs fans were blindsided by this a lot of the rugby league world has been blindsided by this
What do we know as of today? Okay, so he has not asked for a release as yet
And now he has been dropped he was told I believe on on Thursday or Friday
That he'd been dropped for
Their next game a nary to alibi plan the centers
And I'm not understanding as he was very lucky to hold this spot for for the game in Vegas
He was under a mentioned pressure to keep his place on the side
But he is now he was informed late last week that he wouldn't be in the team for the next game
I've topped my head I can't remember they're playing but he won't play now as a result of the result of that
And this speculations emerged that he wants out of the club
As of right now he's not asked for a release now if you play reserve grave for the next one
You said well it's a couple of the next five six seven weeks
You know, maybe that changes maybe the landscape changes because you can't see way back back in the into the NRL team
But right now he's not asked for a release. I'm not saying that won't happen at some point
They don't know I think it depends on how things play out over the next month or so
But he has not plays it as I said he's not the starting side this week you get for their next game
Anari to alibi has trained in the centers. He will play in the centers as I understand it
And bonds will have to work his way back in the team. We'll see how it plays out from here
Yeah, well look I think most people are out of the loop
Was it was surprised by by this story?
You know guskull
And it's denying it and like you say really there is no release being asked for but
Similar to the broncos. This is what happens when you you play for a big club
You're surrounded by the news cycle like
The ball looks have a buy and
You know, well, they have a buy this weekend
Yeah, the hammer on Thursday, but there's no result this weekend. There's no
Oh, if Bronson should have played or didn't play, you know, the ramifications for that
You know, Tomoko at camera isn't getting a game of top quality center in my opinion
Yeah, he doesn't play nothing around it. Do you respect camera out out in in the nation's capital not demanding him much as much attention
As a tango drop from penmouth not playing, but you know what they win nothing to see here
Yeah, yeah, and then this is part of you know, the ball has always written up
Well, it's the reason he is stories about the release
And then the club denied that really can I assist so maybe
Gus and he's a genius at this stuff right well guskull has got another just to give you an update
Gus has put another tweed out and can I just read it to you since that yesterday you sure can
He said I had his legs with bacon and toast and a hot chocolate
Bronson enjoyed a healthy breakfast to smash Davos scrambled eggs and bottled water easy to tell which one of us are athletes
Can he stop the food is coming up with the food. Yeah, but I mean seriously
It's like he's making a mockery. There's something going on
We there is something
These things just don't come up out of thin air jammer like it just doesn't like and it is yeah
I'll give you an example
Last year after origin brand title wants out of penmouth nothing to do
No, there is something to this. I mean, obviously Bronson's not the team and he's not happy about it
And good he shouldn't be that's he shouldn't be why shouldn't he be why shouldn't he be what why shouldn't he be
Yes, you don't think he's former answer. All right. Well, if we drop if we drop you next week
Which is very much a distinct possibility? Are you gonna be okay very wait?
So we drop you next week to host would you accept yeah, okay? Well, you're different character
That's why you playing that that's why we know you didn't play that one game for that team that you made up
Man, of course you sure he said is yes, I did I absolutely played with the bar the sand is but that's not it
But that's not a registered club in analyze that was there was even a rumor getting spread
Late yesterday that he was involved in a bust up with Steve Croyd and a training that's wrong
It's not true that there's no veracity to that I've checked it
So we should make that very clear that is incorrect
There was not a bust up with him and Steve Croyd and a training it in fact I'm told so you're correct than the other guys wrong
He's not what you're trying to say
Yes, yeah
Facts Gordon canary should feel a little you were there
No, but I've spoken to people around there who say it's completely wrong
And then just say because so the dogs just have denied that bronch and cherry has asked for a release
Could his management of
He's managing his manager has been asked for release order a gang or he may at some point
He may at some point down the track asked for a release. He's not playing first grade because there's clubs out there that need
Outside would you accept would you all accept that if a manager rings another club and says hey
If bronch and cherry came on the market would you be interested?
So that club then tells the journalist hate the the managers shopping him no releases being asked for it's a sheer question
That's how it starts
He's that he's that the picture being painted as I see it it appears so bronch and cherry has been dropped
Right, yeah for next game next week's game against the camera raiders
And he's responded negatively towards that and you can understand how the conversation from him could be like
I can't believe I'm not playing. I should be playing. I've been I've been switched side. You know what
You know that the knee jack reaction is oh
If this doesn't get sorted I better than this. I need to play first grade every I want out of here
And you can see how that could have trickled to certain members of the media
And I'm you know what I'm if the ball looks don't think he's fit to play this week for whatever reasons
I support them, but I also support bronch and cherry with the view that he should be an NRL player each and every day of the week
And I understand that frustration of not of not being picked and I heard I heard them talk
With Pameth Tom Jenkins about not playing in the final series and and he sort of won well
You know, I've mentioned you listen, so with what's happened is Bronton on the front foot here
Because of what happened with Reed Marnie and the like and you know, does he just go well
Maybe he's heard a rumor that the club might chop him around so I'm going to get on the front foot here and ask greedy
Um, I don't think it's gone down at party at gaudy. I don't think it's that advanced. I think this has just happened and
As I said, I think bronsome and his management want to see how it plays out from here
And as I said if he if he can't
Work his way back into the team. I mean, he's a good player, right? So I'm sure at some point other clubs will become interested and then
Potential to go in a different direction, but at the moment as I understand it
There's no release been asked for there's no intention to ask for release right now
Um, it's up to him to 40s way back and 40s way back into the team
And he looked Jimmy mentioned switching. I think he's playing you got switched to the right
So Jimmy is it a camera? Yeah, quite is going over to the left
Yeah, and I believe he's not happy about that either and that's been an issue
But you know, he's got a knuckle down and forces way back into the team. He's a good footballer
Right? Someone will take a chance on him if he's playing reserve right for the next more than chance and as well like look
We've looked at you know
The alleged reaction from from an army camp and people pushing back like I
I like players that push back and don't accept just being dropped
You know, the
Footballers have
Ensured that I've set and caliber players have big egos and they want to be playing
It should hurt it should sting
You know, on obviously you take time and you work your way back into the team
But I'm a fan of Bronson's initial reaction saying like I'm this is this is out of line like I should be in the team
Hmm, yeah, I think Bronson also should be thankful that the dogs gave me a chance
I think because they were the only person that gave him a chance
They saw on him after he was coming out of his suspension and when now are the now the club want to touch him
I like I've got to be honest with you
That they have people can be critical of the dogs here
I think the dogs have done more than enough for Bronson charity
I'm sure that will come into the equation double with them
The more Bronson has time to
To just you and to sit on this but but at the same time like there's not much room for sentiment when you're an athlete
I've said this before you
Your time as an athlete is rationed
I'm Bronson knows that more than anybody
So he's a way to life
It could have been a low-mix and look
But Bronson's had four years out the game
Yeah, so he what he can't afford to be more specifically from him
He's like
I want to I should be playing and need to play I've had enough time on the sidelines
Yeah, we're going to take a break. I'll call BS up next
This is the Sunday scene being on triple M
Dream on water
Triple M
Rocks foot in
This is the Sunday scene being
Welcome back triple M Sunday scene being
We are live ahead of manly taking on the new castle nights and then obviously dolphins taking on the Titans Brent Reed James Crome
Gordon-Tales and Ben Doblin with you
He's now time for this
Comes
I call BS
Yeah, I call BS all thanks to our good friends at Ariad
Ariad, kit yourself out head to toe quality clothing and boots comfortable and stylish from the outback to the office
Ariad.com.au
Use your own triple variant
Yeah, um between at Harbourtown or a DFO
No, I'm Vegas in Vegas. I'm massive store in Vegas massive massive
That's their biggest retail store in the world is their Vegas outfit
Yeah
Very very good right near the cosmopolitan. They'll be at CMC next week. Yeah, they'll be at CMC next week. There's a lot there
I know why don't you know because I went in there and I asked for my boots that have been coming for the last couple of years
I thought they might have come directly back
So they just have it
Do you ever pack us normally like they're really good to us right then send us boots
I think we need to go into a deep dive in Dobbs
eBay history and body's been flogging from that Ariad sent to us that for some strange reason needs go to his home address
And someone from Pete crossing a cell on a pair of size 13
They're mine. Yeah, what why did you get them sent to your house?
Stobbo and not just triple and HQ
Oh, I can
Right, it seems that we made all like it's unnecessary
Uh, Gordy, have you got an article BS? Yeah, do you know what um
The nice thing is that we're talking about
Ajay Alex Johnson
Um sitting there on the couch
What a moment. So first of all what a moment probably
The fierce like the most fierce rivalry in our game hundred years old you got these two famous clubs going at it
And that's who Alex Johnson breaks the record
Um
And then you're there and whether players run on you just saw the kids just all running down when they got the eagle cam shot all the kids are running down the
O's to go on
But the rooster's fan
Running up and celebrating
If I was a rooster's fan first south you don't go celebrate
You don't celebrate against your side could you imagine Manchester United playing means
Oh, Gordy and there's no no and there's a famous goal and I'm talking about fans here
I'm talking about you go on and supporting your club
But what about for the greatness of the game? It was bigger than just a side. It's a celebration
Yeah, you don't go and arrivals jersey and give someone a hug. Well, it's not my I call bs
You imagine state of origin, right? Yeah, we're and Queensland kid running on and cuddling someone after they scored the winning try
It's true. Can I just say this why I'm this is probably a Sydney swan's fan just wanted to get there for the moment
It made me sick watching our bay run onto the field like I see I mean
I mean the prime minister of Australia you've got enough going on this field
He was on the field. He was on the field during it the celebrations
He went on the field to make it about himself
Make it about himself and I've just want to make this clear very clear. You got a little bit
You don't know you're for Mossman. Sorry. I'm not from Mossman
I don't care. This is not a pretty cool thing. Do you know how to play? That's why he should have sat any seat with these five security guards
Rather than getting on the field acting like it was all about him giving people high fives as he's walking around
What's wrong with that double? He saved a lot of people from getting fined because him being out there. They can't find anyone there
That's funny
This is true
He's done it because he's done it now that they've just said right. That's it. Yes, and a 24 month ban
Yes, I think actually
That's those people who were
Well, not a lot of people were arrested from him, but I think it was one guy got grabbed. I think one new shot is both a bit early
Yeah
He was quoted as he was quoted as saying I thought with this was our moment. So he got his math song
Um, well, they can't do anything because Elbow is out there
Well, no, you can't use the excuse of speed and what everybody else is doing it
If you if you caught your court like just as you're saying I should find the page
And all these security stuff see this is it the secure. He's got a page security stuff
It's fines because they can't go with it. They can't be like, I'll go get the sit back down
Get sit back down. He's like, I'm Mr Prime Minister, you know
Double I'm against you there. I think there's not many
democratically elected leaders of countries that could enter a sporting field apply
I actually look being a foreign national here in this country. I thought that's pretty cool that
The the prime minister can be
Almost one of the people that you know, it wouldn't happen in the state. It wouldn't happen in um
Good royal could walk out on a pitch
No, no, no, no, no, definitely not and no starmer. Starmer couldn't be going on to a soccer field or a rugby league field
The just people grasp an opportunity and do something stupid
He got through and he full on shoulder charges the kid that's right.
It's brilliant.
It's absolutely great.
Couldn't help himself.
You got caught in the moment.
No jammer.
Have you got an I call BS?
That's a silly question to ask, isn't it?
Look, we all want to be impartial as some people may call experts or commentators.
We have our inherent biases.
Myself being English, when I'm supporting it, you know, commentating on the English team
for the asses, like I did for BBC, the Bulldogs last year and the final series.
Well, I did not get me into pop water.
Any redhead, you know, for the toughest players and what not and anyone being English.
And it's hard.
I get that, but, you know, sidelines, commentators need to be better.
And I'm just going to play this clip from Thursday night blockbuster between the British
and Broncos and the paramattery.
You don't have to get in this ride.
They are waiting on the result of been told in our been told he is deemed to fire that
a joy.
Then we want the after activate potentially grand Anderson or Jake Hunters would give
Brisbane an advantage on the edge.
It's going to hurt.
We might be able to we was a slip of the tongue.
I mean, it was a slip of the tongue to you that this year, isn't it?
No, don't listen.
We don't we we love our sports members, mate.
We love our members.
Are you or what?
I'm a Titans member.
You know that.
I'll tell you what categories.
Whatever I bought.
Who was that?
The members one.
Can you tell me?
Excuse me.
I am a Titans.
You told me you were a dolphins member too.
I'm not.
I'm a Titans member.
That doesn't matter.
You were a dolphins member.
Not a dolphins member.
You said we.
So you jumped off last year.
No, no, no, no.
So you're not a dolphins member?
Just listen.
It was a slip of the tongue.
I made a mistake.
I made a mistake.
I ruined it.
It was a slip of the tongue.
And it was a slip of the tongue.
And it was a slip of the tongue.
So you said, no, no, no, no.
But, mate, mate.
That seems you know, and this bike here,
this looking eats just looking to any any any any any measure.
Oh, that's what I thought it's.
This is the little merge.
Yeah, is that one of these.
Please.
I would hate to be painused.
The male people he rings for.
For fuck sake.
Just hold a slosh.
It doesn't bring anybody anymore.
I am not very.
Just on that.
Just on that.
Gordon am really.
to the WhatsApp group, but after the game, obviously Brisbane did
get there. We get access to the camera footage to the press box.
Dobbo was laying down the law to the other reporters, so he knew what I was talking about.
Let me finish talking bit. Let me finish talking bit.
I do. You're laying down the law saying no tough questions to
match. We've got to look after him. He's one of our, we can see it laying down
the law. I just, I just can't believe it then. I just, I'm sorry, I can't believe it.
It is, you know, you're the commentator saying, I don't believe the other one.
That is believable. It's such a believable thing to see you playing your games,
putting your spin on things. You know what I was talking about and James
very good and I do, and I do appreciate your humour, but when I look back at it,
I was blowing up about there was no pizza given to any of the people.
I was talking, and I was talking, and they were all going, yeah, I know we didn't get one either.
And that's when I walked back out, was I went back into where the
photographers are, because they get all the pizzas and stole the pizza out of there.
That's what I was blowing up about. It was all food related.
But anyway, thank you for highlighting that I did say we in a small slip of the tongue.
I hope you feel better about humiliating me, James.
That's what you love about that.
Is that what you told one of our major partners as well?
Get away.
So what are your dogs?
So I thought you were a dog's foot.
We're moving on.
Brett Reed, have you got something, please?
I'm going to call, I call BBS on myself the way, because I went to the game on Friday night.
I just went to sample history.
And when Alex Johnson scored his first try, I thought, right,
I'm going to go down to the corner where he's likely to score his second try.
So I went down, sat myself down.
I was five meters from the corner post.
I'm typing away.
I hear a roar.
I look up, AJ's in space to get my phone out.
I'm going to record this moment.
I track him all the way down as he slides over the trial line.
People start jumping all over him.
And I realized I hadn't pressed record.
I know.
So I missed the entire thing.
You're one of them.
You're the whole thing.
Missed the entire thing.
Did you get a photo?
No, didn't even get a photo.
Nothing.
I know.
Couldn't have got any closer to history.
Hey, Brink, can I give you like a little bit of advice?
Yeah, sure, Gordy.
You can probably go to Fox tomorrow night when you're in there on three six.
Oh, I wanted for myself.
I wanted to take it out.
I called it Dan out, man, Dan and I did a very good job calling.
In fact, it was, it was a great call.
I'm going to call BS and I just want to, and I would like the support.
I would like the support of the three of you here with this.
And I can understand how boss Charlie White has,
he's profile has gone, yeah.
Sunrise, he's now hosting NRL Daily.
I mean, he's now an avid co-host on By-Round.
I mean, he's becoming a big deal.
He's also the executive producer of this show.
Now, we've got a four hour radio show today.
He rings me this morning and just says, hey, brother,
I think he was looking for some support or something.
He said, just letting you know, I'm only in for an hour today.
I said, what was that?
He goes, oh, I got a cricket game.
We've got to go and play.
Oh, I mean, I'm like, seriously, this is rugby leaks season.
I mean, what's he playing D-grade cricket out in the scrub?
And he's going to give up working.
He's like, mate.
And then he said, mate, I've had sunrise yesterday.
One and also.
Yeah, exactly right.
I mean, four hours of power.
And he goes off to a cricket game.
Like I'm sorry.
His rise in the NRL reminds me of Sunny Bill Williams
and so far.
I'm feeling a bit threatened.
He did tell us.
I think he's angry for the Sidney job.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
That's not what he's doing.
He's putting his head up on it.
I want to screw it.
Don't.
Don't tell us last week in Brisbane.
I don't know if you remember this.
He did say the Sid was legless without him.
And he needed to play on the cricket team there.
He had a lot of legless without something.
He said cricket scraping the bottom of the barrel.
That's all I'm going to say.
Sunday up the new cricketers as well.
One and all.
The game is leading.
We could take an average of about four per week of something.
Yeah.
We're exactly right.
All right, we're going to take a break. Come back. Bronco's on the other side of this
ad. This is the Sunday Symbian on Triple M.
Teamwork, camaraderie, respect. All qualities you won't find on this show.
This is the Sunday Symbian.
Well, I'm our Triple M Sunday Symbian, Jammer, Brent Reed, Ben Dolvin and Gordon Tellus
with you. Ahead of Newcastle taking on Manly and then following that, we also have a huge
game for you with the Dolphins taking on the mighty Titans, the Gold Coast Titans.
We will get to them a bit later as well. Lots to get through.
Let's talk about the Brisbane Broncos. Let's talk about the Brisbane Broncos.
Beaton, 40 points to 32, by paramatter. Well done to paramatter.
Down 20 points to six up to 20 minutes. Brisbane looked like they were set to put on a
cricket score and the game changed. The defence is massively a huge concern and that
stat that came through Fox on Friday, it was the most points conceded by Broncos' side
in the first two rounds ever in the history of the club. Now, that is a telling stat.
It is only round two, I will say and I don't think anybody wants to get two over the top yet,
but they take on Melbourne, then they've got the Dolphins, so the next two weeks are going to be
heavy. I will start by talking about just there's been so much talk and whether or not this group
is hungry enough. They were asked, Michael McGuire was asked, if the group had lost its hunger,
this is his response. That's a question that you can ask, but what they're doing and what they're
saying, they're a hungry group, but the competition demands you to be hungry every single day.
We've just got to check in on each other to make sure that they're the things there that
you need to make sure, as a strong tough team, you have to be that. So we'll discuss those things.
Well, we'll be discussing a bit that. They also discussed our co-host Gordon Tally. He was a
question asked to match about. Gordon comments through the week. Gordon Tally said that there's
absolutely drama behind the scenes at that bread hill. He said there was one training session
into one that kind of divide the camp, rough and fellers, but what did you make of those remarks
that if you heard them from Gordon's? I should come to try and level it. Simple as that.
All right, that was as simple as that. I'll start with you.
Let's church that question up a fair bit. Yeah, but I said on three sections. As I said,
match, I'll stay away from your team. You stay away from mine.
What team are we talking about there? The West Panthers under sevens. It's the happiest little
side I've ever seen. Right. That's Billy Tally's side. Yeah. A little Billy Tally say a trainer on
Thursday. No, it's there is. Do you know more than me about it? Is there something going on?
So I'm just doing my job in the media as an expronter. They ask you questions and it gets
obviously highlighted a little bit more when it's the bronchage or basically when it's a Queensland
side. If it was paramatter, my name would never be brought up. If it was West Tigers when we were
talking about the Galvan situation or if it's the Bulldogs and just talking about Bronson Cherry,
it would never get brought up, but it's just Brisbane. Do you think Brisbane should be concerned
when James Graham asked you a question? Did you hear the same stuff? Look, of course. There's
been stuff being talked all off-season. No question about it. There's been and what the truth is and
what what what what I don't think anybody really knows the full extent, but the facts of the matter
are the fact of the matter. There's no question there were people disappointed. Yeah, no question,
but I don't know if the questions wouldn't be asked. Listen, so just there would there's nothing to
answer if they're winning games of foodie. Right, so all these rumours are out all the time, right? But
at the beginning of the year, I don't watch Brisbane, right? I was driving down to Gold Coast,
right? To we were having a Christmas party. It's the last session. I saw the I saw our boys two
hours after their session. They'll still redden the face. They train our Brisbane. We're running
up the hill. So I live at Mount Cootha. They were like an old flying up to your bent heels. One of them
like they like like they know were training hard. That's what you're supposed to do. Everybody's
bigger fit a stronger. The only the only question you can have is why did pain hats like why does
someone that has had offers all the time? He's one wooden spoons. Why does he leave? And they can either
tell us well, there's nothing here to see or there's something is something is there to see, but
when you lose someone that looks like your heart and soul, I don't know how many poor Morgan medals
he's won. Six. Six poor Morgan medals. He's probably only played seven years for the club.
Start in 2018, yes. So that's not a bad record. To win the Broncos per year, I think Elf had the
most before that, not discredited in this side and pain like Elf played with some really good
players that might have stole a few off him in Glen that like Hall of Fame is that probably might
have stole a few off him in his prime health, but pain hats is arguably, you know, one of the greatest
players ever to play at that club. And that's the question that probably fans sort of want to know.
You know what as well, Gordon, the funny thing is this talk of McGuire and the two-week
camp and the level of intensity, it doesn't really affect the big players and the top players,
because I look at Thursday's game, Hass was outstanding, Walsh outstanding, Staggs outstanding,
it's the people that make up the squad that it usually affects more because
for a number of different reasons. But just on the lack of hunger, I'm not going to call it that,
but for me, Alarm Bells are ringing on two particular incidences in Thursday's game.
I commented it for here at Triple M and you can get lost in the excitement and it was back
and forth game. It was good going. It was. Got going back and looked at a few things.
At 26 a piece, Brisbane Broncos can see the penalty in front of the sticks
for not forming a scrum correctly. Like, is that a lack of urgency? Is that a lack of attention
to detail? Is that a lack of hunger? There's so many reasons as to why that penalty will be
considered, but a 26 or pretty costly penalty, right? A 34-32 down. Broncos make a run down the right
hand side from memory, I believe it was Cotoni Staggs makes the break. Ezra Mam gets the football
in his hands. The Broncos, look, we know it's an intense game, we know that there was conditions
were unfavorable for fatigue or favorable for fatigue rather. But Ezra Mam gets the football,
no particular options to his left hand side. He kicks for himself, right? He chases.
Nobody else chases. Youngy should never get out. He should never be allowed out.
He got out. He got out. So again, what is that down to? Is that a lack of hunger?
Is that a lack of game preparation? Is that a lack of game preparation?
What's going on? Because if I say it, right, everybody says that I'm beating them up.
Are we expecting too much out of this group? They were close to missing the eight. They snuck into
the eight and re-swolsh caught on fire. Re-swolsh was a re-swolsh caught on fire. He beat Canberra.
They beat Penrith and without re-s, they don't win the grand final.
Well, make no mistake on Thursday. You could see him pushing through the pain. He clearly had
medication in front of a live audience. We don't know what happened at halftime. He was pushing
through that, tried that he scored, which looked like it was going to catapult Brisbane or inspire
the victory for Brisbane. The second track was phenomenal. But again, the question I was asked
is, is there a lack of hunger? What I'd like to go back to McGuire and say is, what's going on
in those two particular incidences? There's a thought process within the club, and I think
Gordy and Jamie, you can speak about this better, that all their rep players came back. I think
it was the sixth of January, and that they are a little underdone. Because of the World Club
challenge, they are concerned that as a squad, the majority of those players are a little underdone.
Can I tell you something about that? In the middle of December, there's a footy field across
the road from my house. There was a guy that's six foot six in one of the hottest days,
punishing himself. Pain has. Like I saw him do that. So the great players like those guys,
they don't look underdone. Normally the guys at that level are the ones that look after themselves
because they're professional. I don't know, Jamie, you can probably talk better that, but I'm probably
not questioning their top line players. Maybe Billy Wilders too. He was actually,
no, no, no, he was actually really good. Like against the Raiders before he heard his knee,
like that missing Billy, missing Billy Wilders. There was a six week or eight week period when,
you know, Ezra was in there and Reynolds was in and out and Ben Hunt was in and out,
that he was first class to make a point like they called him up and he held the trophy. So that's
what the, you know, that the current squad think of him. Yeah, I'm not, look, obviously they're a
story right because their Brisbane, they've lost two games and everyone's heard the rumblings out
of their butt. The same rumblings were going, going around early in the year last year about
imagining his methods and driving his players to distraction and they turned around and want to
comp. And Gordon, you said, you said are we expecting too much? This is a premiership winning team.
I don't think we're expecting enough. Well, I think the expectations meet reality at the moment.
That's where they're at. The expectations, what they've sent for themselves were winning a comp
last year. And you know, as I said, there was drama last year. I mean, Buzz was banging on
about it from day one about that. Yeah, but hang on. It's an army camp. We're talking army camps
again. Dubai. I know, but really, they won against the roosters in week one. They got beaten by
camera and week two. Okay, down in camera. Let's, like they were one and one after two rounds.
They're zero and two. They go to Melbourne at Amy Park. They have one, they've lost their last
nine starts there at Amy Park. Then they've got the dolphins about a Brisbane. I'm, I'm not
trying to, and they can win both those games. And I'm with you. It's only week round two.
But I'm with you on reswalsh. It seems like the reliance is if reswalsh doesn't win us the game
at the moment. Mariner said it. I think in the World Club challenge, we've got to stop rely on one
guy because, and look, he's chip and chase. Nearly got them back into the game. I think that's
the choice for stags. Stags is a game winner as well. Yeah, he is absolutely. But what I'm saying
is there's an issue with their edges. Right? Gajeski is gone at the moment. He's for HIA.
Pay a car or come back in. Pay a car or come back in. But that's big minutes to come back
in after you're being injured. And Jordan Ricky is not playing good football at the moment.
Defensively, that left edge is just. He just was here just that left edge with Ezra and
that they are getting is absolutely schooled up. Everybody's targeting it. And you can see
that left edge and they're getting absolutely run over at the moment. So we don't know if Reynolds
is going to play this week. It's rib cartilage. We don't know. Just on that. Just on that.
It's not it. It's not great optics. When if he's really that sore and I've done rib cartilage,
for one, you don't go to the press conference. And two, you don't jump on a plane and fly to Sydney
to do fox sports. Well, you get yourself. No, no, no, no, no, no, you get yourself right. Yeah,
I agree with that. So when you're down, when you're down to and your clubs under fire and you're
the leader, right, there's a reason why Cameron Smith got brought to the club lack of leadership.
But that's the leadership there where you would look and he's going to give himself every
opportunity to pull this club back to where it is. And there we go. That's not. Oh, yeah,
you pick. And the reason why I talk about marriage is because he's got history.
The reason why you can go and match on train and ride because at sales, the knock there on every
player's coach trains you to a unless you're down. And the tiger's same thing. That's what we're
talking about. Gordy, I'm not dismissing the drama, right? Well, I'm saying, saying it's
there's still time to turn around. But you know what? What? History suggests. History suggests
there's every chance it goes, pear shaped as well. Give us what's happened previously. And there's
nothing marching south. This is the worst side or worst start. It's not. I was involved in the
worst start ever for the Broncos. But those first eight weeks, you lost eight. In 99, I think we'd
won one out of 10. And we won a grand final. We won two in a row and we'd won one out of 10. And then
I think we'd become the most successful Bronco. So because then we won, say 12, 12 in a row.
Yeah. So one year, I was the worst of a Bronco side and the most successful in the same year.
Like, look, just on it on this particular Broncos side, one thing we've really learned over the
past three years, watching them with different coaches, they can get really hot. And as much as they
can look beat down in the drum drums that they get, they can turn it around and they can almost look
invincible. They're not that, it all it takes is one particular moment. But really, you know,
like you're saying this time last year and respectfully speak, that that was right. That is what
happened. But, you know, question marks over Ezra Mamm's defence and that left side in particular.
But this is the thing about the size of the Brisbane Broncos club. Go back a week, you go. And
people are saying Ezra Mamm needs to be in that team in front of Ben Hunt. Like, you know, it's
contradicts a week story, a week in the media, a week in the Brisbane Broncos. The story's
contradict itself because we were pushing for Ezra Mamm to come back into the starting side last
week. And then now it's being said he's not, but that's part of the territory. No one's now saying
Ezra Mamm should be dropped because he had an off dispensive night. I've known anyone say
Ezra Mamm should be dropped. I've read that. I think you will be dropped. I think he's in doubt.
Yeah, I'm not going to hold on to you. Endowed or dropped? Endowed with injury? I don't think
they were very happy at all with these performance. And I think they're looking at Grant Anderson.
That's my, some male. He's been training there. I give my a break. I can give me a break.
What against male, but I think they're starting the bench. I think, I think, and they
start him at the bench off the bench. Ezra, if they do that, though, they've lost the plot.
Dead set lost the plot. All right. Well, no, this is the puppet that's putting this idea out there.
It's just get gay to reaction. We. No, I'm not saying anything. I'm not saying anything.
You said saying we need to get rid of it. Did you think Ezra's defence on Thursday night was good?
My Ezra's normally a good defender. That was what I was asking. He defended well on Thursday night.
I don't know if not, but I'm not going to drop it. He was good. You think he was good to wait for?
Would you respect the grant? I see. He was good in week one, but he backed it up.
There you go. But he was good. He was good on Friday night. Okay. He was good on Friday night.
Very good. But that's my point. All right. Well, you know, as, as your mom, as a five eight,
like he's probably arguably the most aggressive defender. Like, I've seen him shoot out the line
before and go after people. It's just that that process of decision making over on that left edge
at the moment seems to be a little bit indecisive. Like they were unsure whether they were coming in.
The pressure was coming from the inside out. And they just got isolated. There's nothing wrong
with Ezra's courage. No, I like the way he goes into contact. He'll give it to you.
And it's not that he gets highlighted, but sometimes it's that the players around that
can make you as a, as a half look really, really poor defensively. And it's not actually genuinely his
fault. He did make a couple of bad decisions over night, Jimmy. He had a bad night. But yeah,
they also have a big family. I don't know. But if he does, if he doesn't, the criticism of him
flying is very warranted. No, if he does it, like, and I mean, I know it's not personal, right?
Yeah, I know it's not personal. It's not personal. I'm just saying if I'm the club
and someone jumps on a plane, like, it's actually not good for you to go there and do that and
sit there. It must be as bad as it was. I like to need play. Yeah, it must be college. You'll
get needle and play. That's what I don't know that. I don't know that. But that's what I assume.
We're going to take a break. Come back Sunday, Simbine on Triple M.
From the Donalds and Dream of Water, Triple M, Rocks Footy.
This is the Sunday, Simbine.
Welcome back, Triple M Sunday, Simbine, Jammer, Brent Reed, Gordon Taylor Spendob,
and mainly take on Newcastle. That'll be the game. You'll hear first up this afternoon
at the Maroon. We'll be your call for that one. Then the Titans taking on the Dolphins. Dolphins
have Max Plath and Ray Stone back in that side as well. So good to see Max Plath coming back in
to Rugby League after a long layoff with the knee. It is now time for this.
Reed is male. Let's see what he's got today. I mean, seriously. Last week, he didn't offer a lot
last week. So we're giving him a second week too. Holding it for other organisations.
He's playing on D-grade soccer final. Yeah, what is it? We did find out about just quickly.
Chickas cricket this afternoon is 8th grade. Like that's it. It's great. It's great.
8th grade and it's a quarter final and he thinks he won 8th division.
Works seriously. Big game. Big game, quarter final later. You hit the scraped
the bottle of the barrel there. What do you got for a treaty? So I'm focusing on the northern
beaches today. Dolphins. Obviously game there today involving Newcastle. A couple of
interesting stories out of this game. One is Brandon Wakeham. Now he hasn't played first grade
or in the NFL for about three years. Now he obviously went through a bit of drama a couple of
years back. But he's been known on the bench today for Manning. There's every chance he actually
play it. Plays a utility role for Manning off the bench. They Brandon Wakeham. So as I said,
it's been three years since he played a first grade game. He's obviously had some issues off
the field. But it looks as though he will be there utility on the bench today. Brandon Wakeham.
So as I said, there's every chance if Jake Simkin gets arrested at at nine that Brandon Wakeham
will come into the game and it'll be a remarkable I guess resurrection for him because he looked
done and dusted a couple of years ago. Brandon Wakeham. But yeah, looks as though he'll get
a game today. So good story positive story. Yeah, that's a good story as well. What else you got,
mate? Well, the other guy, other interesting sort of story out of this game is Greg Marsy
on the bench for Newcastle. He's off contract the end of the year. Greg Marsy and I believe he's
sort of on the radar of a few clubs, including Manley. So he's playing against Manley today.
As I said, Manley on the look out for some depth in the outside backs next year. Now Newcastle
haven't put a line through Greg Marsy. I haven't said they're not going to re-sign him, but at the moment,
they haven't made him an offer as I understand it. So he's up for grabs and Manley, one of those
clubs that's sort of looking for a little bit of depth in the outside backs along with sides
like Melbourne. I believe Manley may take a look at Greg Marsy. So he's got a perfect opportunity
to put himself in the shop front window today and then all the beaches has a good game there.
Things might firm up. Yeah, I read what you'll take with, obviously, the Mitch Barnett's story
with the Broncos is and Cameron George was very, very clear that there was going to have to be
some players involved. Are the Warriors still hell-bent on some form of compensation with that?
Where is that going to land? Well, I think I love the idea of it, Dobbo. But
sometimes it's unrealistic because the players that Brisbane want to give up, the Warriors might
necessarily want. And they've already said that there's, obviously, there's personal reasons for
why he's leaving the club and they wouldn't stand his way. So they've painted themselves into a
little bit of a corner what the Warriors. And obviously he's agreed a real idea with the Broncos
already. So I'm not sure you can peel it back, real it back now. This sort of genius out the
bottle a bit. So I'm not sure that they'll agree on a player. I don't think they've agreed on one
yet. There's been some things put forward. I don't think they're back pulling off. Will
this have been launched? Is the contract being launched with the NRL for the Broncos?
Well, I imagine we'd be in the cooling off period, the 10-day cooling off period,
but they're not going to back out now, Jimmy. And they've said we understand why he needs to go.
We've acknowledged that he's got some pretty deep family issues he's got to take care of.
We'd be a bit hard now for the Warriors to back out on that. And the Warriors have benefited.
From him in Jones Fischer, Harris left Henryth because of, you know, he wanted to go back home.
So the Warriors have benefited on that front of it. Be a bit rich now if they turn around and
said Mitch Barnett can't go. Yeah, he went home. Mitch Barnett went to Brisbane. He didn't go
to yourself. Yeah, but it's closer than it's closer than New Zealand gauded to his home. And I
think he's got family in Brisbane, actually, as well. So the interesting story there for me is
that Newcastle didn't have a go at Mitch Barnett. I can't believe that the Knights give
a, I think most people look at that. There's a little bit of a question mark, right? He's,
what, 31 coming off 32, 32 coming off net. You know, I mean, like there is a question mark.
Right. Yeah. Well, I mean, that's a pretty good offer and they lost paying us. So they had
the biggest purse. I just can't believe the Knights should never read or go at him. I've
found that amazing. Paramount, I must be feeling in these moments. And obviously, you know,
the paramount of Saga rolls on, but they look, they look very good, you know, on Thursday night
and much improved, but they offered more money and longer years. I don't think that's right,
double. I don't think they offered longer. I don't think that's correct. I think Brisbane offered
two with an option of a third. Yeah, but it's in the club's fibres. My understanding is paramount.
Brisbane and good at that doesn't pass the pub test, but there's a new $1.5 back at the dragon
sign for less. The West Tigers offered that. I'm Randall 700 and he signed for less. And now this
guy's getting offered something and they signed for less. Gordy, I would say that. I'm not saying
something, but it just doesn't pass the pub test really. I know you can stick up for him.
No, all right. I was just going to send turns of paramount. The offer that was reported,
paramount are saying that wasn't the offer. It wasn't that significant. It was only two years
and it wasn't at the level that was reported. That's what paramount are saying.
Well, of course, they're going to say that if they don't get him, is they're offered more
than they get him? Ready? Come on, mate. I'm just telling him. I'm just making sure
informed guys. Just read about it. Read about it. All right. Brent,
read, appreciate you. A lot more to get through. We're going to talk to Panthers and she
whizzed having they started hot in 2026. That's up next. This is Triple M Sunday Symbin on Triple M.
Teamwork, camaraderie, respect. All qualities you won't find on this show.
Welcome back. Triple M Sunday Symbin, Gordon Tallis, James Graham, Brent Reed, Ben Dobin.
Manly will take on Newcastle, Anthony Maroon will be your caller. That game will be three o'clock,
Queensland time, four o'clock in New South Wales and you'll hear that. Maroon calling,
Danganaine away, obviously with Fox Sports commitments this afternoon as well. We've also got
the Titans Dolphins game as well. Last night at Carrington Park in Bathurst and this game was just
it just put everybody on notice. They were very good to the Panthers against Brisbane. They were
even better last night against the Sharks. 26 points to six and anybody wants to ride off.
They're back, baby. They're back all right. They were so good once again.
It's the defense that they missed a year. They missed a year.
They missed a year. I'm not going to say like it's a one horse race. I'm not even going to say
there's so much football to play, but they've just defensively. They have they are so much,
so they've just got the systems right. Melbourne and obviously Penderett have been very,
very good to start off with. I'll start with you, Jammer. How impressed were you by their
performance? Because after what the Sharks did to the Titans the week before, I had the Sharks
absolutely flying. They were by no means bad, but their performance would have been
disappointed with that performance last night. Look, I thought the Penderett Panthers
defensively, another masterclass, just the retention to detail, just how comfortable they are.
The correct process is in place for quick rooks. They're one of those sides that don't seem
afraid to concede six agains like we've spoken about. They focus so much. Everybody knows their
role. Their middles work incredibly hard in defense or outside backs. Get them out of trouble and
do a lot of the yardage carries to put them in strong positions. Nathan, clearly again just
in total control of the game. Dylan Edwards looks fit, which is so important. I think last
year it was clear to say that he wasn't quite up to full fitness and that affected him
on a weekend. You've got to give him credit for soldering on, but the difference between a fully
fit Dylan Edwards and the sort of injured one last year is clear to say. Then some players that
just, you know, a force in the light of Isaac Tangler, I think. And, you know, we speak a
little bit about the Broncos and their style players, but the efforts of some of the unsung heroes
for the Panthers really do stand out. Alamotti, a thought sensational Jenkins again,
Garner and his young kid Billy Phillips, like they're guessing the most out of the players that
wouldn't be on the opposition's radar in terms of shutting them down. Those players all contribute
and contribute well. The plan like a team at the point approved Jimmy. Obviously after getting
knocked off their perch last year, they started this year putting everyone back in their box.
And I thought after last week, I thought Kranala were dead set premiership contenders, but then
you look at what Penra did to them and you go, well, they're a long way behind Penra. So I actually
thought the dynasty was on its way. The Penra that was it. They were done and dusted. I thought
teams have gone past them, but after watching the first two weeks, man, they are going to be hard
to toss real hard to toss. For me, there's been some sides that work really hard off the ball when
they don't have anything. And to me, Penra's the hardest working side of seeing off the ball.
They put a play on. It didn't work the way that they could re-adjust get back into their positions
before they scored the first try. If they don't do it, no one notices. They put a play on, but
just the way that they all get back into their slots to run the next play, it's just relentless.
It's just relentless from them. And that's with the ball. And then without the ball, when they
defend, you know, well, it's proven that it's the best system. Well, it's the best system.
And it works. And then you've got Isaiah, Nathan, Cleary and Dylan, three extremely competitive
experienced guys that have great leadership. They're going to be there again. They're there.
Six points in 160 minutes they've considered. Well, what would it take 180 minutes before a
side scored against them? Yeah, great. The pressure that they... You reckon they're
winging about the six against? Yeah, the pressure that they applied to their opposition through
their defences is second to non. And then the mind games that they would play with the opposition,
you know, the Broncos managed to come back last year. And in that semi-final, but I think that
was the first in, you know, a long, long time. So, so watching yesterday's game, look, 12
nil going into half time. The sharks were almost thinking they're done. And then that tried just
before half time. Well, you just, you just can't. You just, you don't have the ability to come
back into society. And an absolute incredible supernova performance from from Reese Walsh and
and a couple of other Broncos players managed to get them over the line in last year's final series,
but 12, 18 points in a set. And they scored where, and it got called back as well. So they had
a couple of calls and they weren't they last in round 12 or some, like in the bottom four and
right. 12. Yeah. And the energy that they had to get off the canvas and get to a prelim. And
that's their way back. Yeah. And you think, you know, if any side deserves to put then their
knife and fork, right? Because after what that had over a long period of time, you think it's
there. They've had a lot of success. They've had a lot go their way. But just the hunger like,
you know, if that's the buzz word for this weekend about being hungry, they're hungry, right?
And the core group of that side, the Dylan Edwards is the Nathan Claries, the Osayo. They,
they just drive such high standards. I mean, there were almost sort of unbelievably. The 40
sides almost a reflection of those bikes, bikes, they're hardworking, they're unassuming,
they go about their business. They don't, you know, Nathan as good as Nathan is and he's got
every right to to be hogging headlines and out there, they're, you know,
parading around because he's the greatest player we've seen in the last 10 years, right? I
stupidly put Reese above him in a top 50 poll last week. I know what I was thinking,
in any way. But he that's not the way he goes about his business, Nathan Clarie. I mean, he is,
he is. Some people would think that really. What's that? Respaulch is an unbelievable player. Yeah.
Well, he's a great player. No, hey, I'm not, I'm not, that's not shooting down,
Reese wash. I'm just saying Nathan in terms of what he's done the last decade. I mean, he has
been top of the pops for as well, you know, then this generation of footballers and he's shown it
again over the up in two weeks of this year that he's, he's the best player in the game.
I think as a team as well, Pamela's got way more to give over over an 80 minute contest
than what we've already seen in these opening two rounds of, of season 2026. I think
there might be 15 mistakes against me. 15. Yeah, there's more. Yeah, like,
blaze to lang is, it is starting to see some green shoots now, but there's more to give from him.
I think McLean is, is, is just on the, on the, on the, on the edge of just becoming one of the
games elite elite centers, challenging the likes of the trail, stags, writing to name,
but three, I think he possibly could be underrated. He may, he's maybe even there already. He's just not
done it for, for long enough, which is no fault of his own. He's just not been on the scene for
long enough, but he's quickly emerging one of the games, best center, um, one of the best,
the best centers in the game in my opinion. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. Um, look out when the
Panthers are coming. They, they are right up there at the moment and playing good football.
We're going to take a break, Mitsubishi Tric and Tupper's player up next is the Sunday
Sinbind on Triple M. For McDonald's and Reema Water, Triple M Roxford.
This is the Sunday Sinbind.
Welcome back, Triple M Sunday, Sinbind, Jammer, Gordy, Brent Reed, Ben Dobin, ahead of
mainly taking on Newcastle, uh, coming up in our third hour. Um, we're obviously going to
look at the wares and also what a special night it was on Friday night with Alex Johnson
breaking, uh, that unbelievable record. James Graham joining us now and it's now time for the
Mitsubishi Tric and Tupper's player. Thanks to Mitsubishi Tric, nothing can frighten a Triton.
Jammer, who is it so far this week? Yeah, look plenty of, um, strong candidates. I want to go to,
a player who, um, made his debut with me at the Dragons, um, and he's got across the pond
and he's playing in the front row for the New Zealand Warriors, Jackson Ford, um,
honestly, what a, what a season, what a, what a year he had last year. I remember when, when
when 40 came into the team, um, it was sort of a bit of a fringy at the time and was looking to
make his way in the NRL, got a, got a taste of first grade. And remember, remember once he, he
was in the physio, saying he's had a bit of a bad back and then saying like, how did he do it?
And he's like, well, he was concrete on his day off because he's like, he was only on
minimum wage. He was just a, a pure hard worker and just, you know, it, look, respectfully speaking
to, to 40s, not the sharpest tool in the shed. Um, he, you know, for him, it was just another
day's work and he was a back row, was he not? Yeah, but yeah, more of an edge back row and I think
move into the middle sort of simplified things for him, just work hard. And we, we see what hard work
looks like for a player like, for Jackson Ford, um, and then it looked as if his NRL career was over
and I spoke to a couple of clubs in England, they asked me about Jackson and what I thought of
champion bloke, get him over like, he'll, he'll, he'll do really well for you. And then,
uh, yeah, the, the opportunity came up to, to go to the Warriors and yeah, what he, he just
hasn't looked back as he was absolutely phenomenal in, in Friday night's game. And, you know,
we can, we can see some players, they, they go up a level and the opposition's not as, as
higher quality, but he was up against Tarpany, Hudson Young, Horsborough. He was absolutely
phenomenal from him. He's only 28. He's got a lot of football in front of him and he's just
getting better and better. He'll play his hundredth game in his next round. Um, he, he, he,
a hundredth first grade game. He's a really good pick. And I love the fact, Shell Harbourboy,
Jammer, so he's from down there and he, he, he got the dragons. He probably always wanted to play
for the dragons. He's whole life and it's funny when you, when you get a shift and you go over
to the Warriors and Andrew Webster, what he's done, we will talk about the Warriors in the third
hour. Um, but just his football, you know, and, and I, I can only imagine when you come up against
touted best props in the game or arguably when Tarpany, you go to another level, well,
he's formed just being unbelievable and really obviously, you know, he's, is he signed long
term at the Warriors? I think he's, I think he might be actually in reading negotiation. I think,
I think, I think there might be an opportunity like there will be some club circle because his
football is bloody unbelievable at the moment. And middles are, um, there, there, there's
like commodities right at the moment, you look, Mitch Parnett, well, Mitch Parnett got, got out of
Brisbane right. If you, if you're a middle forward now, front rower, I think the average, we,
we do a thing every year, the annual benchmarks for players of paid. And I think middle front
rowers, uh, it goes full backs, half backs, front rowers, that's a valuable hour in terms of
average salaries. Yeah, the, the, the really elite ones are mean dollar players now.
And, and you know, he is one of those unsung guys who, yeah, okay, he's not elite elite,
but let's say what he keeps playing the way he is, he's going to get a big payday down the track
because if you're a middle and you're off contract right now, you are in hot demand.
Yeah, absolutely. And I guess, um, for Jackson Ford, really, it's more about him going over
there and it was almost last chance to loom before he's, he really needed to, to apply himself,
in this way, to, to kickstart his career, you know, like I said, on the scrap heap out the
dragons, not really sure where he was going to go, opportunity comes over it, the warriors,
plenty of people have been down that road, kickstones, and before you know it, they're NRL careers.
I mentioned that there was many candidates this week. And look, I want to give it an honourable
mention to our listeners, because the toughness that, that they showed on last week's show,
this, this, how they endured this little piece of commentary. I'm, I'm about to play right now.
We're just having a look at this nail of Oscar Pierre Stry. Um, he's gone there. And
that was me describing him crashing into the wall on the warm up lap. I was just watching it.
I was like just expecting everybody was looking at the pictures. Uh, I probably should have
described a little bit. That's twice you've had a crack at me this, in this show.
Janille, very, very careful. Well, he want to be very careful because I might return
to him the next day. We're taking a break. Come up. This is the Sunday CBN on Triple M.
All welcome back, third hour of Sunday CBN, head off, manly taking on the Newcastle
Nights, Jammert, Rady, Gordy, Ben Doblin with you. Anthony Maroon will be your caller for the first
game. And then we have the dolphins and the Titans in the final game. The Saab, isn't it? Yes, James.
Uh, Doblin, you were speaking about the, the toughest player Jackson Ford. And, um, it's been
brought to my attention. You've made a, uh, another. Okay. Okay. Right. He's got an extra year. Yeah.
And he's gone. No, no, no, no, no. Um, you, you referred to him as being from Shell Harbor. Uh, he's
actually from. No, he's been brought to my attention that that has upset the, uh, the local community.
He's from Jarawa. I don't care. He's from down there somewhere. I've done this. Wow. Wow. Well,
if that's what they're going to get, see, this is what happens. This is what happens with the
bikes and the shires and the guys a bit lower down it in, you know, in Southern Sydney, they all
get a little bit snippy about where they're from. Oh, listen to us. Okay. Okay.
Doblin also had his contract wrong. He's got another year. I can't talk to anyone till
November one. This is just, I don't think so. Are you getting enjoyment out of, are you
getting enjoyment out of continually when you make plenty of mistakes, James Grime, plenty.
But we just let him slide through to the keeper. But you're starting to get a lot of enjoyment
out of this. Anyway, can we move on? I'm just, I'm just helping our listeners. I don't care.
I don't actually care. Right? I really don't. About the listeners. Wow. Yeah, I do care about
the listeners. I just don't care about James Grime's opinion. Can we please talk about Friday night
and how special it was Alex Johnson, obviously creating history. He now stands alone as the greatest
tricycle of all time. This is the moment called by our very own Denganane on Fox Sports.
That's the field. Yeah, they can't be. It was a wonderful call by Denganane. And obviously,
it really was. I can do in practice that always. Yeah, but yeah, you know what? But he now
to get him out of it. He nailed it. And it was a great call. And a special, it was, you know,
what I would say about this, if he scored it just by like the week before, like when LaTrell
went on his own and scored, but he actually, it was a cracking try. If a feeder set it up,
the off-way to LaTrell, LaTrell, then the Johnson, it was a great try. I've assessed him in the score.
Now he had 40 meters, right? Yeah. A run so that people could enjoy that moment. Yeah, you know,
when people talk about our game and the real changes, you can go to most codes in Australia. No
one's breaking records. If I go to our biggest competitor, which is AFL, no one's going to break
Gordon Coventry or Tony Lockert's record for like a thousand goals or whatever, because they
don't kick a hundred a year now. Like the last guy was buddy like that. When we've got a game
that's been around that long, and they're breaking records means that our product's pretty good.
Yeah. The thing I would say is that, um, Condenul too, but potentially break the record,
if he continued to buy for, you know, like there's every possibility that, no,
let Alex Johnson have a moment. No, he has to have a moment. He's going to continue to break
his own record every week for the rest of the season. It's going to be a bit hard for Daniel
Tupor to break his record. No, well, we'll just wait and see if you look at the numbers, but anyway.
Um, what do you mean? Alex Johnson on that left edge for South. He's going to break. Alex Johnson
is going to break his records. He might get away. He might, and it probably won't be so far.
The 240 by the end of the year. What do we think about the performance or an all, um, sorry,
Daniel Tupor's 35 this year. I don't think he's got a deal next year. I hate to pick you up.
That was a poor example. Uh, Paula George, can it ever be broken? Can it ever be broken?
No, yeah, of course, of course it can. Yeah, but not in the model. There's no
not in the modern guy who at the moment, who at the moment could, could you in your opinion?
Well, Billy Slater got the 190. If he didn't get like suspended, he might have the record.
If Greg English didn't pass past the board of Darius. Like, like, like, you don't know,
there's going to be someone come along that just has a knack for score and tries. I don't know who
also we don't say that it's never going to get done. Like, and this is, like, will it, like, yes,
South, South were moving him one five years ago or four years ago, whatever they were,
you know, he was fighting to get a contract. So there's going to be a player. I believe that
might come along. That's just at the right time at the right space. I can score tries. And we,
we won't see it. They go, and we don't know where the game's going to go. Like, what do you mean?
So you won't see somebody else break that record? Not in my life time. No, I don't think so.
Oh, look, we don't know where he is for him to do it. Well, yeah, but we don't know where the
game's going to go. So we look at another 10. Is that what you just said? No, I said 50.
Like the corner post being taken out for, yeah, that used to be touching goal. Like,
you, you, that was not a trial. Like, that, that changed how we look, we look at the high scoring
nature of this week's round of football in particular. This trend continues. Then, you know,
points are going to be more frequent than, and tries are going to be more frequent than,
than, than yesterday. Of course, it will be broken one day. We just don't know when,
yeah. Um, where does he rank as wingers? Like, I mean, he's done a start. I was like,
you know, I called his first ever try. It was the same night. Greg Inglis tore Brisbane
to shreds at Suncorp Stadium in 14 90 meter. Yeah, you know, from a chip kick from Milford,
he picked it up on the bounce and went and went 90 meters and scored. Um, and Alex Johnson
scored a try that night, um, wearing, I think 21 or off the bench. Where, where does he rank in
wingers? He's on the podium. He has to be, doesn't he? I mean, you've got a trial screwing
record like that. You've got to be gaudy. I mean, he's not, he's not, he's not, he's not, you're
modern winger, right? You're modern winger, wingers, a big unit with, you know, return. He will go
in as the greatest try scorer of his year. But that, that makes him one of the greatest wingers
gaudy. Okay. In my opinion. Yeah. You don't, you don't agree. I wouldn't put him on the podium
because on the podium, that means that he's in the best tree wingers that you've seen. So,
pure stats say he is. Yes. So there's nowhere growth. Wendell, Salah, Josh, I mean, I'm Brett
Morris. So none of those Brian, I sit on the podium. So there's a room. There's three on the
page. Exactly. There's three on the podium. There's room for Dylan, Brett Morris.
So nowhere at growth. No. No carry boasted. Nope. Not me. No. No. I'm pure about hasn't.
Well, he's going to leave them all behind. He's going to leave them in his shade and
it's not a wingers job, predominant job, the score tries and finish off making him try to
try a. No one started it. It is a good debate because statistically. I mean, there's other
wingers like ready to cure. I don't like to yell. We, we, we, we, we put Wendell. But I
way, just on playing ability, I put call felt above him.
Gordy, I've changed my opinion, I've changed my opinion.
No, no, no.
I throw it through it.
No, no, no.
He's landed through it.
I mean, call felt.
We can't say that.
Go call thoughts on a better wing in the Alex Johnston.
Which you respect to call felt.
Pure statistic says, no, he's not.
He hasn't scored the trials Alex has.
He hasn't had the longevity that Alex has had.
The consistent score record.
So if you're the highest point scorer in our game,
means you're the greatest player of all time.
No, it means you're the best point scorer.
Probably the best goalkeeper.
What I'm saying, he's probably the best trial scorer.
Not the best winger.
Well, but it's not for me.
That's one of the things you, you rate wingers on.
Come on Jay.
What are you short tries?
Jay, where's your opinion on this?
Look in terms of all round game play of contribution
for what you'd expect from your wingers, especially in the modern day.
Like your backfield carries are probably first and foremost
that the highest up the ranking there.
He doesn't bring that to the degree of some of the others,
but really make it a strong point about what is his job?
It's the score.
wingers want to score tries.
And I think, am I right in saying that AJ was on the outer
about seven years ago in the fans, the fans petitioned.
And he wrote a personal lead like to the club.
The Wayne got hold of.
I think he's wife wrote it, but it was his words basically.
And Wayne saw the letter and said, we can't lose this score.
Yeah, but the club kept him as a result of that.
Was there a huge petition?
The petition as well.
It was the same time, Jimmy.
It was a petition then.
You know, I think there's the romance of being a one club player,
like having that connection with the fans.
I reckon that adds into it.
Like him doing that for Salson and him having that connection
to his supporters is huge.
I reckon if you ask Salson fans, if you're ranking wingers
or you're picking a team for your life,
Alex Johnson's likely not in there, likely not in there.
But longevity is key because really he's got him in there.
Along longevity is key durability, availability scoring.
These are all important, but I love what he's brought to the competition.
I love what he's brought to that self-signy side as well.
I think that adds to his credibility.
Moving on within that game and world under Alex,
I'd like an apology from James Graham and Gordon Towers now,
because come the hour, come the man.
DCI Walker said last week was going to step up.
And he stepped up the locks.
He was very, very good for the chokes.
And he showed why he is one of the elite half-backs in the game.
Go back and listen to what I said.
Well, no, you were talking about Gowlin, which was a fraud argument.
Go back.
It was a fraud argument.
I was a fraud argument.
I want an apology from you and I want an apology.
Go back and listen.
He was a very good apology for you.
You don't live in Sydney.
You don't have to feel your content.
You don't need people leaking your information.
No, I don't know what's doing it.
He was very good.
Everybody was critical of him.
You all wanted to get on the...
Oh, he's too old.
The facts are, he's won one grand final.
Yes.
Right, in his first year when the Stuart brothers were there.
What has he done for Manley?
He didn't win him a comp.
And now he's gone to the roosters and they keep on saying,
he is the Cooper-Kronk.
Cooper-Kronk was 32 and won two for him.
That's where I'm going to judge DC.
Well, we'll judge him at the end of the year then.
Right.
And then in round.
No, we won't.
Yes, we will.
We're going to win two weeks by week.
If he wins them a premier show.
You don't tell me.
You don't tell me when I can judge people.
You don't get to decide that job.
But I'll decide when I want to make a call for somebody.
If he...
It's going to be a pretty boring year, isn't it?
If we just sit here and go,
we want to make it a game?
I don't know.
I can't judge him to the end of the year.
We're going to show that about giving our opinion.
We were doing his performance.
That was much better.
No, but we're going to show about giving opinions, right?
And you're saying,
just let's just hold off to the end of the year.
Doesn't work like that.
I'm just saying that hold your judgment on whether or not
he's been a good investment or not.
No, no, no, when he delivers the chucks a trophy.
You don't get to tell me what to do.
That's the joy of the show and the joy of being a free human being.
You don't get to tell me when I can judge your not judge.
What I was talking about is I was referring to the fact.
That when we look at halfbacks,
that come into clubs that dislodge other players,
we judge them on a week by week basis.
I'm willing to give Taylor Cherry Evans a big pass
for his performance on Friday evening.
Was it perfect?
Absolutely not.
But he contributed to that team.
But it's on again next week.
Because that's how,
well, that's where we've changed as a game now.
I'm going to the end of the year.
How do you write him?
It mainly.
I have his whole career.
That meal.
What did you say to hook him to fire a forward musician
and를 his career?
I think he did deliver it.
Yeah, what does he do?
You don't think, you don't think you would deliver?
Well, he wasoul que
Captain, he may be one of the more games that he lost to me,
one of the more more days, brothers, brothers.
ety, uh, uh.
Well, what are you judging on premium ships?
Is that what you saying?
That's what we all get judged on.
You are judging on polishing.
Well, if you're judging on thatNoor i
on premierships. He didn't deliver. If that's what you're judging on, I'm willing to
concede. I may have gone, gone off a bit early with these. He last week. Thank you.
I'm going to give you that. Thank you. Thank you. He was much better this week.
I was quite going after week one. He was much better this week. But I would say this,
Southscore, a couple of tries down the left-hand side of the field, right down the
his right. He's defensive. So he wasn't perfect. And I'm not saying he needs to be perfect.
But he was a lot better which he needed to be after week one. Anyway, all right. Okay,
we didn't get anywhere where I thought we were going to, but well done to Alex Johnson.
We're going to take a break. Come back. The Warriors chat is up next. It's the Sunday
Sydney on Triple M. For McDonald's and Dream of Water, Triple M Roxwoody.
This is the Sunday scene. Welcome back to the Sunday scene,
being Ben Dom and Brent Reed. Gordon Tellus and the Blake that will never give Daly
Cherry Evans a wrap at James Graham. No, I will. And, uh,
See, we'll stop that. Go back and listen to what I said last week.
Listen to Ratner ranks. Can you just stop it? All right. All right. It's okay. James Graham,
but I tell you one thing that for for all the listeners, just like if you can have us like
look at the video, when James Graham looks straight at the microphone, it's pretty much like
the bent finger. He's about to pass. He's about to pass. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Good luck.
We didn't talk in the break, which was good. You enjoyed that. Um,
barely, barely a taking on you, Castle at the neighborhood will be your call for that one.
Um, and then obviously, uh, the Titans taking on the dolphins, we will preview that game
in the world. The Mighty Gold Coast Titans, Gordy's wearing his jersey as well.
The Warriors. That's what supporters do. I get it. May you're an owner and the Suncourt
I love it. I got my jersey on. You're going to go there and yeah, I love it.
Sitting the crowd with all the dolphins and Titans fans and I'm looking at my footy.
And what's your game of foot? Right. Oh, I'm going to be one of the first to admit that I
probably underestimated the Warriors already, um, at the beginning of the season. No,
I genuinely did. I didn't without, um, Metcalf at the moment and without obviously Mitch Barnett.
It's okay, double. Just judgment at the end of the season.
But boy, boy, having they started, well, 40 points on the roosters, 40 points on camera,
and they are playing some very, very good football. Tanner Boyd looks a different football
or at the present moment, like in the R2. Yeah, I'm really happy. And that's, and that's a good
boost for the, like the whole NRO. We get these young kids and we all
feel like jammer like we judge him a little bit early and, you know, my mind said,
as Alan Langer passed the ball to Wally Lewis for the first probably three or four years of his
career and Peter Sterling passed at the Brett Kenney and Ricky Stewart passed at the Lorry Daling.
We judge these young guys, but Tanner Boyd, um, made his had a great start too. Yeah,
he was very good once again. It's very good. Do you, do you think they're the real deal?
Well, yeah, look, they face some adversity as well, going into that game. I think Cape
will pull out in the warm up. Yeah, Harris to beat her off, you know, within the first 10 minutes.
That put a lot of, a lot of stress on, on their forwards and, yeah, Camber, obviously, we,
we know their capabilities. They showed that last week, um, against Manley and obviously,
season 2025 as well. The, the, the Warriors, they, they've got all the ingredients there,
that they're home crowd. I admit, I didn't have them in my eight to begin the year,
but they, they're a different proposition at home. Two wins over there against,
you know, last year's minor premiers and the Roosters who played finals couldn't get any better.
And then you are met Carl from Barnett to come back into that side. I think they've got some
amazing young players, Halicim, I mean, it just, it doesn't look right. It kind of, you think
you're watching AI, you know, make, make this character, you know, run through four or five players
and score a try and it comes up on your screen. Your second guest, yourself, what, what he's doing
is, it's just not normal. Can I be a bit of a wet blanket? So, yeah, well,
I started last year really well as well for memory. And they fell off a cliff.
That's out of shocker to start the year of Vegas. But midway through the year, Jimmy, they were,
they were quite high at the latter for memory. They were, yeah. And then they fell away, right? So,
they've had two game injuries, two games, two games, two, they're two games at home.
I'm going to reserve my judgment. I didn't have them in the eight to start of the year,
they've started the year well, but they need to convince me still. I know they've been very,
so hang on, you're saying you don't think they can, at this moment, you don't think they're
going to be in the eight. Just go and say it. Don't say, oh, they have to convince you. You're not
convinced yet. No, I'm not convinced. No, I just said that. No, I'm not convinced. I think they're
going to be in the eight. I think there's every chance they fall away again. Right. Okay. The
New Zealand expats the year, you know, this is why you, you're much more on with a lot of people.
You're saying that you've got them in the eight double, have you? Yes, I have. I have two guys.
Well, I'll tell you why. Why did you put them in the eight last night?
That dark horse, that dark horse of Pam with pamphlets, tell you what,
they're doing all right as well, aren't they? Who did you take out of your eight double?
It wasn't a dark horse. It was a smoky horse. Who did you take out of your eight double?
Yeah. Well, after they won. Yeah, but I've still got parents. Sorry. Yeah, I just have
gone. Oh, my God. You are such a flipper flipper. You've got 17 teams on the eight,
depending on who's asking. Listen, listen, mate. You're not on your own here with what you've said
in the past about the Warriors as well. You won't exactly warm about them before the season started.
They've shown. Yeah, I've said they were good after the two games. I've said, you're good.
And you said, you were wrong. That's fine. That's okay. You were wrong. I'm with really. I don't
think they're over the line just yet. Wow. So what, you know, what we can't reserve judgment
till the end of the season for those early years. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Look, the thing about it
is, and if you have a look at it, and the elephant in the room is the sense that there are players,
they seem to have some track record of players going there and obviously wanting to leave
after a certain amount of time. And if we, I think we did, we looked at the players that have been
there that have left in the last five years, that's the concerning part. I mean, you lose Mitch
Barnett in the, I know they're getting James Shahrers back. Is Will Walbrick? Is, is that right?
Will Walbrick? It's in the cooling off. It's in the cooling off there. So he will be there. You know,
great pick up. You know, he's very good footballer. But they certainly do have a lot of players
that go there and then don't finish their full time there. That's just a fact. And I mean,
well, they've got enough local talent coming through now. Yeah. Yeah. And, and Webster's
doing an amazing job. Like Ricky Stewart, what he said in the press conference after it, he's a
great coach. He's got these guys and, you know, they're all pulling together and they say he's got
mana. Yeah. I'm over there and to watch the Warriors and you know, feel that statement. Don't
forget right. It was pouring down right there. If that game was played in Australia, no one got it.
So what they're doing for rugby league in New Zealand, which, you know, I mean, it's a strong rugby
union area. They've got to be commended. I mean, I even love Cameron George at the end of the
game. I'm sorry. You saw him at the end of the ground. And he's doing the crybaby ice tour.
I like it. I know some people were critical of it. I like that. It was a top and it did. Was it
the year before? Yeah. Like he called him crybaby or something. So like, like that's cool. Like
that's cool. Like that's rusted on. Mate, the CSEO go there, ride it and sit with the fans,
not up in a corporate box, you know, you know, eating prawns and caviar. It's made it
as good to see him just there and ride it with his team. I don't have a problem. Do you have a problem
with it? Ready? No, I know he's a good fella, Cam George. He's a man of the people.
I don't have an issue with it. Did Ricky have an issue with it? I don't think Dobbo Ricky is your
man. Did you give him a call and can you cry on your shoulder? Give him a shoulder to cry on
Dobbo? No, no. And you can start saying these kind of things to try and get at me that he's my man
and stuff like that. That's what you told me. See, he hasn't started well.
Mate, Ricky's my man. I was this, you know, he's one of my best mates in footy, you know,
with thicker thieves. Now I know you're lying. I haven't spoken it. I haven't spoken it.
I haven't spoken it in weeks. I haven't spoken it in weeks. Oh, there's one for
you. There's no. I don't need to talk to my friends every second day for I ring them because
you need any information out of it. No, mate, I don't ring him for information. He's a friend.
I've just been on something. There's nothing to do. So who do you ring? So who do you ring this
week? Can I go through the life of Ben Dobbins? Who do you ring this? I rang you to see if you
wanted to try and ease me on. You didn't ring me back. Yeah, that's one. That's why I'll judge you
at the end of the year. Yeah. We're taking a break. We're going to have a Sunday
sipping on Triple Am. Teamwork, camaraderie, respects. All qualities you won't find on this show.
Welcome back, Triple Am, Sunday sipping. Jammer, Brady, Gordy, Ben Dobbins with you, a head of
Newcastle taking on Manly and then obviously the Dolphins taking on the Titans this afternoon.
Anthony Maroon will be a caller for the first game. Dan's away. So Maroon steps in.
The great Maroon. We afford to hear those beautiful voices afternoon. The four o'clock
game. The great Anthony Maroon. Melbourne absolutely did a job on the drag and just after
the noon 46 points to 20 at win stadium. Yes. Don't be like under, under playing Maroon because
he's a commentator like your playboy player like you. I think that's a bit harsh.
What do you mean? Well, you're like the Maroon. So Anthony Maroon, one of the titles here
to play. Like you didn't really sound so enthusiastic in your voice there, Dobba. Hey,
hey, listen here. Maroon and I are tight. I'm a huge fan of Anthony's Maroons. I'm very excited
that he's calling this afternoon. Shut up and listen. Anthony Maroons. Yeah.
Anthony Maroons. How many? How many? There's a lot of them. He's a very good man. Anyway,
judging you at the end of the show. Well, you should be 46 points to 20 storm take on
did a job on the dragon's. The dragon's actually got to the lead with around about 25 minutes
of play and then the storm hit the go button and absolutely put him to sleep and it was that
fallback who has just served quite a long ago who's just become an instant overnight sensation.
He's Craig Bellamy talking about just the efforts of their fallback. I've got no idea. He can
be out fallbacks for a long time. He's got one of the best teachers in Billy Slater that
does a lot of work within June of the week. This, as I said last week, this year he turned up
in reasonable condition for the preseason. Last year I reckon I was beating the preseason
to be quite honest. So the big thing for you now is being able to get in the right place at
the right time and that experience will come with more game time. Just on that, Craig Bellamy
is super fit. There's a lot of bikes that he could beat in the preseason. He's probably one of
the hardest trainers that I've ever seen Craig. So that's a bit unfair Craig. You'd beat
mostly a squad. Well, we are witnessing first hand and the reason why everybody's been talking
this kid up for so long. He's excitement machine. I'm not going to say he's a superstar because he's
got a long way to go. But he is obviously really taking a lot of boxes. Yeah, I'm going to lose
Cooper Conkin. You know, Jerome, he comes in and I lose Billy Slater than Papin House and
pops in there in a few injuries or whatever. Then Papin House and Lee's and I'm thinking,
what was there going to be a hole? And I don't think there is. And if there was a hole,
he got filled in really quick. Yeah. They got filled in. Well, it's in the right going to get better.
Because if Papin House and stays stays at the footy club and sees that his deal, maybe Sue
is not there because I believe he had a sort of an agreement in his deal that if Pap's hung
around too long, he could look and explore the market. So maybe Sue is not there if Papin House
still there this year. There's every chance because he's a first grader. We've seen that.
He's a bloke who was who was ready to go and he's been sitting by and perhaps learning off him
with Billy as well. And if Pap's still there, he can't be patient forever, right? At some point,
he would have wanted to play first grade. Exactly what happened to Jonah Pazot, right?
Couldn't see a pathway in. Could be a blessing in disguise that the Ryan Papin House
asking for a lease. Obviously, Melbourne granted that. Sue Farlonger would talk glimpses of him
in yesterday year. Obviously gets the nod at fallback. And I think it's interesting here
in Coach Bellamy's speak. We know Sue Farlonger is going to provide us with highlight real moments
throughout this year. That was evident yesterday. And I don't think that was ever in any doubt,
but that was rubber snamped yesterday. And with that, Patrick tries that he scored.
Coach Bellamy will know that comes. He'll be looking at the final details of the fallback role.
And especially defensively because he knows they've been in back-to-back ground finals.
Now he knows it's the intricate details. The one laps in concentration can cost you a
premiership. So that will be the advancement of Sue Farlonger's game. And really,
because he's got the ingredients. The pace that he possesses that can get you out of trouble and
put you in situations like nothing else. That is something that we should all admire.
Yeah. And you know what, Melbourne, I've picked up where they left off as well. I mean,
the doubters were there for Melbourne. Where? There were people who were saying, when you lost
Nelson, when you lose, no, no, no, me. I'm just telling you, the the rhetoric around Melbourne,
well, not just Melbourne. Well, when you lose, they happen housing. Yeah. When you lose
car tower. Yeah. When you lose, save your coats. When you lose, Nelson, a solomona within, within
when you lose, Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk, and you go and still play grand
final. Yep. You don't really judge when you have Jerome Hughes. When you have Cameron Munster.
When you have having grants. Dove, I'm going with you, though. I think there were people who
doubted this storm this year. I'm with you. Or can there was some people out there who thought
they were going to take a step back this year. I think there's no doubt about that. And you just
really, I can't believe it. What? Me, so I'm a dog in the Melbourne storm. No, he's not
I mean, I mean, I'm not as proud.
Is he out there and so he wasn't me?
He's gonna go in the career best form.
Is Harry Grant in career best form?
Andrew Vos compared him to Cameron Smith
who said he could be better than Cameron Smith
in his call.
And I was like, well, Vosy.
And look, Cameron's record speaks for itself
and what he's done for the game.
But do you regret the matter of runner of the football?
Yeah, but there's probably no greater winner
in the modern or game manager as well.
get like Cameron just with the 40, yeah, but I think it's hard to compare because they didn't
play against each other, but if they both started at the same time, like if they both come out of
the blocks at the same time, who gets the Queensland origin jersey and who, like it'd be a great battle.
And then it would be an unbelievable battle. The different styles of players as well and even how
the game, the opportunities for dummy half to inject themselves into the game has changed for
up that time. You know, Cameron Smith at a time where it very much allowed to slow play the rook.
He was an expert defensively sort of went in a bit of disguise there, but with his attacking
quality, the rook was a lot slower. But now with the game being so quick, Harry Grant,
the tri school just before half time that is quick between the years, bang, bang, pace,
gets him over the line. I don't know if Cameron Smith could have scored that try, but that's not
the same. Yeah, but like he's game management, like Cameron, like I remember we're asking him one
day and it still rings in my ears. I was asking some questions in the media and it's around origin.
And I went to Cameron Smith and we were just lying around at trying and I said, there's one minute
to go. We need to score a try. You got Billy Slater, your Cooper Cronk, you got Jonathan Therson,
and you got Darren Lockier. Who do you pass the ball to? Yes, well, I put my head up and see
what's in front of me and I'll make my decision then. I just like, I'm like, I like, yeah, so
do you know what he told me right then? I'm the boss. I do what I'm going to do and that's and
and that's where Harry's got to probably get to that next level and, you know, and it's about
being a little bit selfish, but if I think if Harry gets a little bit more selfish, I think that
Melbourne storm would get probably a little bit better as well. Um, some Georgia, the concerns and
Georgia, Laura, um, they were beaten and look, they got to a lead. Yes, they compete. They had a
crack and they had a crack in week one and they had a crack in week one. I can't wait one,
playing Melbourne. I thought, yeah, I just said like they were like, they were right in the battle.
Yeah. I just, I'm just obviously the big question mark is, is there halves ready and and
the spine at the moment, probably isn't connecting. And when you look at it, there's some really
good performances there. They get at some point that will have to be some changes there.
And they've got a lot of options though, Dobbo. I mean, they've got like in King Tonya. Yeah.
Um, and that young and that young, um, Reid, Kate Reid, Kate Reid got knocked out. I believe in
you said, well, as a couple last week and the first minute you got cleaned up by someone, um,
I believe you got knocked out of the game. So, and I think it might be a bit early for
Kate Reid. He's only young, 19, maybe, um, still finding his feet a little bit. So I think
it'll be a bit irresponsible almost to chuck him into first grade now. Um, Colin and Daniel,
they had their moments, right? I mean, Daniel Atkinson had some really good moments.
I thought it was nice. The two tries, he set up the ones at the ball to Val. Great ball.
And then there was another pass, uh, maybe to, um, Fiona, I can't recall, but it was an
absolute ball. It's like, yeah, that one. There was, there was some beautiful passes from Atkinson.
The dragons are the scrapping really hard. And to play two of the last years, top four,
difficult start to the season. It's whether or not they can, if they can match that effort,
they'll win against some of the teams that would, will, will likely finish around them. It's
just whether they can keep that going for, uh, they just like a bit of class to me, right?
I mean, they're in, they're in the fight, fight most weeks. They're just like a little bit of
quality to finish it off. Well, they take on, they take on Paramata next week. We'll be at
Combat Stadium, um, the send in before that. That, that, that, that game, I want to say, it's crucial,
but Paramata after that win, um, would be going there very confident in the dragons and then
taking on that, that will be a belt of a game, because they're both sides, you would think of
purgogles, and very close, very evenly matched. It'd be a big crowd. Yeah, big crowd at Combat
next week. Um, we're, I mean, the carflan again, it, it continues to be, to me mentioned,
but really, I don't think this can be a change there. No, and, and obviously, um,
well, well, no wife called, called it's focused on, obviously, because his dad's a coach, but,
you know, again, he had some good moments just as well. And I don't, and the moment, I think he's
the best option for them. I don't think, um, King Tony got his opportunity last week. He didn't
really seize it. Um, and the moment he's just kind of to be patient, I'm sure if they don't win
40 games, they'll make some changes down the track, but then they go on to the market, the fixer
problem. Well, obviously, when, well, that's what dragons fans ask. Well, they got Daniel
Actors. Their other audience go, well, they went and got Daniel Actinson, and they were hopeful he
played in the house with Kyle. Then, um, obviously, Keon's coming next year, that'll help the
house because they get more go forward. They've got King Tony are floating around. Look, I mean,
obviously, they've made a very, they've been very public. Their CEO was very public last year,
saying they need to sign a top shelf marquee half, but who is there? There's no one out there.
Are they in the market for Jerome Buller? And if he comes to fall back, then that'll see
Guthau go to five eight and then Actinson, because they've just bought, gone out and bought
their number seven. So, uh, and I don't know if there's marquee halves that are available that
would go to the dragons at this particular moment, time respectfully. So Actinson's there,
you've got Cook at nine, and with little off the bench, then you've got Guthau and Kyle
funding. And I think that they've been the market for a while and maybe see Guthau push up to
centers all five eight. Well, they're in the market for Buller Jimmy, but the issue with that is
the Tigers got first option. I mean, because they've got a club, there's a club option, then a
player option, eight hundred. The club options at nine hundred, I believe. Oh, sorry, yeah. So
player option. And where are the Tigers can get a better fallback on the open market? There
isn't one out there. No, no. So, all signs point to them taking up the player option on
Durin Buller for next year. I think they've tried to extend in. They haven't been able to do it.
If they don't take up the play, if they don't take up their option, who'll go to market,
and that yes, the dragons will be in their big big chance, but the Bulldogs are probably being there
as well. And if you give Durin Buller the option right now, do you want to go to the Bulldogs?
Do you want to go to the dragons? He's probably going to go to the dogs. They're closer to
when they're comped in the ball than the dragons are. In some opinion, we're going to take a break.
Do you think the dragons are close to dog like that? I don't try hand grenades and go to a break.
This is the Sunday simbine on Triple M.
For McDonald's and Riemhaw Mortar, Triple M, Rocks Footy.
This is the Sunday simbine.
Hi, welcome back. Triple M, Sunday simbine, Jammah,
Ridi, Gordy, Ben Dobin with you ahead of Newcastle taking on Mally. There are some
team changes. We'll give them to you shortly for Newcastle and also for Mally. But this is
the segment we started last week and we do it again. It's got to rewrite. Here it is.
She's, they haven't worked on the opening. I think I'm so in love with you. Things I love about
rugby league. Jammah, we'll start with you. What have you loved about rugby league this week?
Oh, look for me. I know we've spoken about it already, but the scenes on Friday evening scene
that tries going record broken. Wow. Like that is so cool. Through the television screens,
it was absolutely fantastic. And they did a great job to get the game back up and running. But
those are special moments. Those are literally wanting a lifetime moments. Love the fans.
I was overhearing a couple of people at a cafe today and they knew people out there and there
were going, oh, we should see our kid on TV. We saw him in the mix. We saw a fan run on. He kept
all of his hot chips. That was a winner. You're just after half time as well. Those fans, right?
They've been at the bar. They thought, you know, I'll take my hot chips, my pie and my pint down.
And I'll just put it down, opening to set. And it's like, you're looking at your beer and you're
going, I mean, two minds here, but they just flew onto the field. I absolutely loved it. I
really did. It's such a special, special moment in our game. And it should be celebrated. And
congratulations to to Johnson and what even he's achieved here. We debated earlier about where he
sits in that the rankings of wingers, but that his name will be etched into history for a very,
very long time. Yeah, I think we all agree. You know what I love about rugby legies that we are
such an international game. And we are a world, um, class game yet Saturday afternoon,
bathed in sunshine, the hill at light card oval when the bloke in the in the scoreboard changes
the score and there's thousands of people giving spirit fingers to all mate when he changes the
score and up it goes. And then cheering and bloke's a proud to be at light card oval in their jersey.
We are such a corporate game and it's such a great game, but we go back to grassroots like that.
And it makes you realize, and I know there was no Wi-Fi to DJ was in the media box. Are you calling
that? Are you calling up urinals there? Are you calling Benji Masters Tigers grassroots?
Yeah. That's interesting. I just thought the hill at light card oval. Benji ball. I like the new
on Benji ball. That's good. It just was it just was wonderful scenes and it makes you realize why
the game is so great because of that and it's not for getting where we've come from. Yeah,
that's exactly right. I just love it. I love it. Mossman.
Reading, what do you love about the game, mate? You know what, there's a screen in here on right now
and we're seeing vision of Brookvale oval four points par, bathed in sunshine, northern beaches
of Sydney, Sunday Arvo. It doesn't get any better than that for us. You can have your light card.
You can take it like that, right? But four points par, Sunday Arvo, the sun always shines
in the northern beaches. Oh, of course. I love the Tommy Trevovich. That's what I love. That's
what I'm all about. Yeah, really, you know, I thought you're going to say the north if switch reserves.
I want a ground. You're doing that up, aren't you? You want it up, mate? Under innovation at the moment,
they're playing down the jets are playing a good, no, kid from good, no, too. That's some of my best
as in all the beaches. They know what I love. One in all in the CEO for the Warriors. Yeah,
standing there on the sideline, joining in and rubbing it in, rubbing a bit of salt in the
wind, where some CEO you don't hear from or don't see, it's good to see one just there.
Enjoy, don't make it around. You know what? And the reason why I fell in love with this game,
because I was a fan right at the beginning and we've had all different jobs. I've had so many
different jobs, but the fan part should never leave you and that was the fan part of
him and George just sitting there and giving it back. Yeah, giving it back. Good on you.
I just want to give a quick shout out the north, north if switch tigers rugby league club with
the Langer brothers. Yesterday had a big fundraiser there and I went to it to do the auction for them
and what did you charge them? No, free. It was free. Come on. But you know, it's for the,
a couple of kids got injured in a really nasty accident star of the year and they had this big
fundraising. But the story was the full Langer brothers were there and Kevin Langer got up to
speak with out. Well, you think out was funny? Kevin Langer is the funniest bloke I have ever,
ever heard in my life. Clippy sat back and they never, they never said a thing, but made
a clicky devil sat back. Alphan Kevin got up. Mate, they could have a comedy act that goes
around Australia though. That is like unbelievable, unbelievable. And that is what a great family
and reader like my Bronco seats like when I go and go to Suncorp Stadium sit.
Alfie's mum still sits in the same seats and it just amazing footy fans and then she goes and
works in the canteen. Her son hasn't played under eights for a long, long time, but you know,
rugby league runs through her veins and we still remember that ad when I think it was
wonder what or whatever and Alfie could, you know, couldn't go out and play until he finished
the sandwich. Mate, they still get into Alfie. Alfie's done everything, but he never
won a premiership with the North Tigers and now we know he might not let else like so it just
goes to show. Hey, listen, that's the Sunday sin bin when we come back up the break. Primetime,
we count down. It's manly taking on Newcastle after the break.
Every tackle. Every try. Every. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Mitsubishi heavy industries air conditioners Australia put your trust in the experts in air.
The McDonald's and Rima border. Tribble M. Ross Flee.
Oh big game to South of the room. Welcome to NRL Primetime. Thanks to Mitsubishi heavy industry
air conditioners Australia Mitsubishi heavy industry air conditioners Australia put your trust
in the experts in air from Fort Byne Stadium. It's manly taking on Newcastle, Brent Reed,
James Graham, Gordon Talas and Ben Donnelly for the next hour. Anthony Maroon will be your
coer at 4 p.m. and four manly Joey Walsh he drops out of the extended squad and four Newcastle
Macroaker will start Tyson, Brazil drops back to the bench. We're going to do the Red Bull
Kees to success for manly today and I'm going to start with you Reed because I mean you are the
number one ticket holder and fan club member for the manly ring of seagulls and you understand
that obviously they are already under a bit of pressure. What do you like and what do you want
to see from them this afternoon and you surprised they dropped Joey Walsh off this bench?
No because you probably need to get some miles and his legs so I'd imagine he'd had to run around
this weekend I haven't checked that but he probably needs to play more footy Joey Walsh so it's
important to get some some time and use that whilst cup. What I like about Donnelly they play at home
and I know they lost at home last week that's a pretty good camera so I'd like yesterday
or Friday night would suggest otherwise but they're a good team camera and I think if manly can
bottle that first 15 minutes and the last 10 and turn into 80 they'll win and win easy. That's the
key for them so you know I think they've got points in them we know that get the you know Tommy
Tolerkyl cooler they've got points in them they've just got their forwards got to stand up to
that I thought they got overpowered last week. Yeah that's been the big question Mark hasn't
a gaudy with manly is you know the depth I mean they've got Koby Heatherington in the starting
prop now Persecut Simpkins Heatherington Ollicolato Bendrevoi which Jake Devoi which is a forward pack
it's their depth that they're you know I mean you know they're going to question this year. Yeah look
me look obviously losing Persecut last year they lost I'm a bit in the middle but you think
manly they start fast I'm a Brookfarl over like they like getting off to a good start but
let's not forget Newcastle last year where a pretty good defensive side until out of my Brian got
moved on late they were probably in the top five defensive side so they're a hard working side
they're gritty Dylan Brown we didn't know how that was going to work but I thought a
freed Karl and Ponga up a little bit more I thought it was the best we saw a Karl and Ponga
he was the busiest player over in Vegas so I did give Newcastle a chance here but manly that they
you know they they they exploded out of the blocks last week and couldn't get the job done
so that's something that you know they can't afford to have have happened again this week.
Yeah Gemma what do you like about manly this afternoon and obviously playing at home is a real
advantage we understand that and as Reddy said bathed in sunshine it'll be a sell out there
the Eagle Rock will be going and they do get up and are a better side in those situations but
you I just worry about I just worry about for me like you know in the middle when it gets when
it gets middle of the first half and what's going on there how they got the muscle to go with this
yeah well what what I like about manly is how they play with the football like it's easy on the
eye but whether or not that translates into two points on a weekend is it is a different matter
but like the early ball to Cola when it comes off it's brilliant or they go to the other side
and go to the right and they're all equal are to bring them on a drop line and great to watch
and can do so much it's it's just when they post the envelope with that and they flip with the
sidelines however today it does look like a fast track so that that early shift which manly have
been known to do especially under sea bold can can where can be super effective the flip side with
the night and the the first game against the Cowboys it was spoken about quite openly that the
Cowboys were going to attack their middle I'm going to come after their middle that was the
game plan to go through the teeth of the the nights and then success will come didn't work I thought
Newcastle's pack really stood up for Zell off the bench tray mooney I thought they they had a real
dig in the middle and they're going to need to do that again tonight I think that you know they've
been spoken about they lost Leo Thompson maybe perhaps a bit of a soft underbelly has been rumored
they're responding to that they're playing like a team that has got a point to prove with that
and then you know Caitlin Ponga we a lot of talk about brown should it be sharp should it be
sand and Smith will doesn't matter who it is when you've got Caitlin Ponga in fine touch like he
was in the opening round yeah I mean Ponga is he's been at this side isn't he you know we'll get
the Newcastle in a minute and and and mainly we've got to be able to control him like I have to
be able to try and keep him with that Tom Trevoyvich he can absolutely open him up well the
battle of the number one it's huge it's actually worth the price of the tickets by itself when Tom
Hitchfoyvich is on there's you know arguably he's one of the greatest fallbacks to play our game
and Ponga when he's on like we like and especially the way they started the season both of them
are in really good form last week and it's a great battle and it's you know I mean you could easily
say whoever plays better at the number one wins the game if everybody else goes out there and does
their job. Rudy can I ask you this we talked about you know pressure on Todd Payton earlier on
in the show in on Simbin and I'm not trying to corner you here but if they if they toss up
poor performance today you know as much as you love four pines in the northern beaches and the
sunshine's brighter down there they will call for his head it will become louder and louder and
you don't think the Broncos is a big story Anthony Seabold has head coaches a big story as well
and that that is a real talking point because the talk is you we talk about Payton we still
are hearing the same things at Manley. Well I don't think it's under the sort of intense pressure
that Todd's under at the moment. Manley had a going around one and could have easily won that
game as long as they play well today look they're rowing two two games at home yeah there's some
pressure but I don't think it'll be like what Todd is under as long as they play well double that's
the key for them and I think it's a more settled campus year look I think at the end of last year
there were some issues there were some rumblings behind the scenes right but I think it's a more
more it's a happier campus year things are more settled I don't think it's the same
off the field as it was last year so I think I don't think Seabes like we're all saying
Seabes under intense pressure I don't think that's right he needs to win yeah because he's a coach
but I don't think he's at a point now if they lose today that the knobs will be out for him
look at that remains sharpening them well no doubt he's I beg different I beg
no doubt he's under pressure and there'll be a large list of candidates that be after that
manly job going from round one to round two from a manly perspective we know they can attack it's
it's their sense of agency and I spoke a little bit about this with when it came to the Brisbane
Broncos about how small moments you you miss them you miss your opportunities manly against camera
care weeks fumbles of ball they look like they're about to front load their energy and pin
the raiders in their own end two passes bank they would away down that left edge and the set
goes a hundred metres the sanders feel go we all clap and applaud but no pressure like these are
the small things that make a massive difference so I think Seaball would you don't really need
to touch the attack you know this side can can get points through early ball or some individual
brilliance from from Tommy Terbo Ollacolato Cola and the likes but it's that moment that you
need your players to just seize upon yeah if if this game is tight and in in the balance which we
all make you know could predict it will be and maybe golden points on the horizon if Kaelin Ponga
Dylan Brown Sandin Smith sent him for a field goal I want to see my players you're almost
be willing to be penalised to jump to jump the gone early and go and apply pressure that didn't
happen last week double you seem pretty convinced that things are more dire no no no I just think that
that I just think that there is some rumblings from behind the scenes that for me only that they
expect results and and I don't necessarily think that the playing groups are all that happy either
and and and and I know you know exactly the mile I'm talking about radio I think that settled down
double I don't think I think you're at the end of last year there were some rumblings right out of
the club I don't think it's the same this year I think it's calm down I think it's more settled
I think they've had a good off season and I think they're a pretty pretty happy camp at the moment
from what I that's what I'm being told and that's not from Seabes and telling me that that's
other people around the club are saying it's a lot more settled than it was last year
so winning winning solves all problems and the afternoon and the afternoon manly need to win
to stop the noise or it will just continue to get louder and louder and louder and that's
and that's just the way this club it's a proud club they expect results and I mean with a new
CEO in and obviously you know new assistants in there this year the results are expected they need
to deliver there's DCE right in your stuff these days now I've been sprogging a daily I'm just asking
I'm not I'm just asking you know what I mean I'm just doing the dogs you know what I mean
he's my man and he's no I said that ever I'm coming in and then all of a sudden why are you
bringing daily into this double as well mate you're you're talking about eyes Seabes and
depression according to your motto we just judge them at the end of the season so relax
we're taking a break once more to get through we're going to talk the Titans next now they are
after the blowtorch the McDonald's and Rima Mortar triple M Ross footy this is the triple M footy
prime time I welcome back to the Mineral prime time all thanks to Mitsubishi heavy industry air
conditioners Australia we're a four-point stadium manly taking on the newcastle nights
Anthony Marum will be your caller along with Gordon Talas and James Graham well let's talk dolphins
that's the second game this afternoon I do want to start about obviously we'll we'll talk about
this but there is a story that came out this morning written by Peter Badell and Travis main
about how Cooper buys Melbourne storm call fractured relationship with star father and that's
Cooper by making the decision it's being written that to go against his father's wishes
and it's the backstory of the career model that A that Cooper buy back flipped on that deal to
stay with the Titans Gordy I mean that's a great article written for the club that's the way I
read it you got a young kid I'm gonna stay out of the family issue because that's none of my business
that's his personal life and I know that the club will put a lot of support around him to make
sure that he can get through this time you wouldn't want any argument you have at home or any
dispute your family written in the paper so that's one but the pleasing sign for me is where our
clubs heading right and for a young kid to have Ivan Cleary and Penryth ring it reach out to him
Nick Pilitis Trent Robinson and Arustus reach out to him and Melbourne storm three pretty powerful
clubs yeah isn't yeah and he sees that there's a future at the Gold Coast Titan so that's that's
the thing that I see and over the offseason to have Jayden Campbell knockback Perth yeah Tino you
know commit to the club and we've signed a lot of really good young kids they're Matt Keating in
the development space with Todd Cunney has done a really good job and for the first time was you
know we're starting you know break some dirt and break some bread with you know some of the best
young kids on the Gold Coast that want to stay there so that's the way I read that story and
that's about that's about it I reckon well as a 10 day cooling off period ready and so obviously
this has been written there like that's gone yeah but he was able to in that time he can that
that's why there's a 10 day cooling off period he did sign with Melbourne and he decided against
that so obviously he likes what the Titans are building and liked what Josh Hanna had said now
you know I don't have a problem with that now it has caused I don't know why it's a backpaged
that there's a family feud between a son and a father I don't necessarily know if that whole
salacious part of it needs to be to be to be written but it has been and that's the way right
dirty laundry out there well that'd be for the Gold Coast but it's quite sad for that fam for
Marcus and Cooper that this is fractured their relationship I mean the relationship with
the between a father and a son's farm farm more more important than where he plays his
rugby league career as far as I'm concerned so I'd hope they repair that Gordy's there's a parent
right I played for Saint George and I played for Brisbane and proud that I played for both of
those clubs yep and I'm a North Queenslander I've got a son my oldest son has been a raiders
member for 15 years I've got a son that loves the Cowboys and I've got Billy that's gonna come
to the Titans game and Harley's a Bronco so you know I mean you don't tell your kids what they
should do I think that you got to bring him up in a way that they got to leave the nest and you
got to support him on the decisions that they make. 100% Gordy I mean we all know Marcus is
affinity for Melbourne and he might be disappointed these son backflip and pull out of the deal
Marcus because he's on the board of the P&G as I said the relationship relationship between a
father and son is far more important in the relationship Cooper has with the football side and
his father has with the football side so I think I think everyone would hope particularly
people in Melbourne I'm sure people in Melbourne would hate to think that this this has
fractured their relationship because as I said it's far more important than where it places 40
yeah sure as I just quickly on Billy Gordy last week at the Broncos game we used a pretty
ante to get on the field you tell them how he couldn't get access but I think today's a perfect day
my friend so Billy tell us his list then dad said that's going to be on the case you know what
what do we what gin and parenting because my wife was overseas she's in the state so it took
Billy to the game last week and this buff head yeah he's got my same dad will take you on the field
because once you saw my dad will take you on the field dad will take you on the field so Billy
wanted to go on the field Billy wanted and he asked me like 12 times he was loving his 40 cards Gordy
who's in the press box loving his 40 cards yeah loves these 40 cards up mate that was last week
what what do we want to see just get him on the field you can't get him on the field today he'll be
there today well how about we wait till we get a home game hmm I've seen him on the field before
you when when the Broncos played the sides you had him down there with looking at race one day
you know oh yeah I did a fox I did a fox interview yeah and then I just had to give Jammer
breaks she was up in the corporate box so I just sort of thought I'd walk him down with me but then
he doesn't have a pass he doesn't have a pass they get on the field he hasn't kept in a club Gordyn
tell us his son and Jane stripes what do you want to see from the club that you own at this
afternoon I want to see what we've been working on and I know that round one wasn't out of character
for where the Titans were but it's out of character for what we've built in the offseason so you know
I know that they've worked really hard I'm in the offseason so I want them to pretty much play
the way we've trained and just be connected like I think every they could have went wrong last week
did and we didn't handle that and in the past we've had this great ability to drop our heads and
not think of what we've got to do next and that happened last week which was a little bit disappointed
but go there and the dolphins are going to be desperate right yeah well they've got Max Plath coming
back and Ray Stone German that's a huge there that's good news for us yeah but they're big
ins you know for them man I mean Max Plath I mean I know it's first going back but that they there's
a lot of pressure on the dolphins because I understand like the Titans are up the last one and I get
that new guys but the dolphins are expected to win these games and that comes with massive pressure
when when the expectation is that this game you should win yeah that's the word isn't expectation
and there's probably expectation on the dolphins to to play a little bit better last week obviously
very much conditions that affected that but no excuses I'm predicting a much tighter contest I think
we'll see plenty of points when I'm sort of looking at this game you might just have to be switched
on for defensively for 10 20 minutes deny the opposition be desperate be connected I thought
that was something that was maybe just a little bit lacking in the in the Titans against the sharks
last week I thought they had all the right intentions but just a lack of connectivity in their
defense just just cost them and they learned that you know at this level you do that and quality
sage which the sharks are are going to exploit that so a bit more connection from the Titans and
could see them go a long way yeah I mean who I know who Gordy's tipping
ready who do you like in this one sorry Gordy I don't have to go with the dolphins I think I know
they weren't great either last week but do you know expectations least a disappointment I expect
Charlie to change this roster but I think the Titans will be better Gordy I think they'll play better
hey and do you know expectations I expect us to win today and that's what should happen I
expect us to go there to be led by Tina Mo and the guys and go out there and play tough and
gritting pool that you know I and beat the dolphins at what they're good at getting the trenches
with them and see how far they can go and that's what Sais did to them last week Sais jumped in the
trenches with them and the dolphins were we're like a little bit surprised by it though they were
certainly a little shell shocked yeah by that and that's and that's and that'll be better the dolphins
because when they turned it on last week they're pretty good they got going we're going to take a
break come back stories around the week there's still plenty going on luxury apartments in P&G and
we're also going to talk about Ponga to New Zealand this is Primetime a head-on manly taking on
new cast will take a break come back with more. The McDonald's and Rima border triple M Ross
footy this is the triple M footy Primetime I welcome back triple M's all thanks to Mitsubishi
heavy industry Primetime Mitsubishi heavy industry air conditioners Australia put your trust in
the experts in air we're 25 minutes away from kickoff between manly what's going on
welcome back to Primetime all thanks to Mitsubishi heavy industry air conditioners Jammak
Gordy Brent Reid Bendov and with you 25 minutes from kickoff between manly and new castle
is that better yeah be with that okay I want to Mitsubishi air may neither low max to the western
force really disappointed me why because I don't I get I get all the reasons and we're not going
to go back into who he said she said what but I absolutely hate losing a player of his caliber to
a rival code and for the next two years but it's your code no it's not I love rugby league I don't
like them going to rugby union I watched that snorfs last night between the red you watch it there you
go I watched it so you didn't watch rugby I watched rugby league but I was on a 630 so I watched
the fair was seven or a half time before I crossed over the league and I've got to be honest with
you I was like oh my god oh my god it doesn't matter what they try and do like you know there's
15 20,000 there I just hate to see low max now in a rival code it there should have been a
solution could I just clarify did you watch did you just say what's the first half of the rugby
rugby union rather than the rugby league is that right no no the rugby league started at seven o'clock
oh so now start at three o'clock and I'll start all Saturday did you watch did you watch all the
rugby league games Jemma yes I did okay do you think Zach Lomax is better off playing rugby union
than rugby league still to him well it's not up to him uh there wasn't a place for him there
isn't a place for him here in rugby league at the moment well look I'd resigned to the fact that
we were losing Zach Lomax um last year when he looked as always going to go to uh the rebel
union competition I'd resigned to it so in my opinion nothing's changed
double it's changed
sorry no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no help
okay so I'd like I say I'd resigned myself to the fact he had gone to rugby union
and has he gone to rugby union yes
I'm with you double I think it's quite sad
I mean it's quite sad he's not playing rugby league because he's a really good player he should be playing rugby league okay
So what if he did his ACL?
I would be injured he wouldn't say he wouldn't be playing yeah he'd be back reading he got to get over this right there's no more
Immortals playing the game and our game still bigger
I understand the court is still filling out stadiums
Stop crying over spilt as I've seen good low max doesn't want to play our game this he did
He did want to play a game this year yes he did
To the contract where you signed for four years no he did want to play then he didn't then he did
Then he didn't then he did and then he didn't and then he's followed his dreams and it's always been his passion
Yeah, I was disappointed with the way he left actually. I mean the way he left was pretty ordinary in terms of his statement
Yeah, the rugby union statement. I thought that was
A bit of a slap in the face to rugby league and you know he didn't need to do that
For him he wouldn't have written that well he a short
Well, someone would have signed off from it surely they would have run a buy him or his management
His management's clearly signed off from that. I would imagine but that's rugby's right. There's stick the boot
And we've we've taken a few of their players
in the past
So what do we see him getting one back but job I just didn't rugby ten because I'm I know that you're at avid watcher now
Where does where does the western force sit
Like in the in the realm of Australian rugby have no idea
They've got to a strong franchise. I don't have I have no idea. I would not have it like I'm not being rude
I have no idea. I don't think they're that good not very good
So then we join in the dots that he's going to Perth to get settled in for
The person got I have a place I like like I trust in rugby league circles a lot says that
He still believes that Zach Lomax will be back within the game within 12 months
Can I just ask this question? Yes, he trust you. Yes
Yes, he does a lot
He's made up you're talking about on the radio station
I haven't you and he's name out yet and we know you're talking. Anyway, no you have no idea if he comes back
He'll be at the storm
I can't believe it anywhere but the storm
Why would he be at the Perth base because the storm just paid 250 grand of his legal fees. Yeah, well he might pay those them
He owes them a debt. Oh, it's just he doesn't he owes paramattery signed four years. He left after one
I think they're happy to see the back of him Gordy
So I have the storm so what they'll eager to get him if you know
Well, I've lost four right now
You bet there was so keen if like the dragons
Report they weren't too bothered about them leaving then paramah not too bothered about about him leaving
What why are the storms are keen that well frank and Craig have had a bit to do with him in origin
Jimmy they're obviously lot to go and think he's a good player
And they lose him any as well any to goal kick and next year he would have been their goal kicker
Um, and I think he's a good player Jimmy ultimately. That's what I believe why they wanted to get him to Melbourne
I love when you turn into storm boy ready
Yeah, he's Frank's puppet
Just man
My the hats that dobo where
Hi guys
Wine DC
Adam Reynolds my
With these ribs
That saw he couldn't finish the game but he jumps on applying also dobo um puppets don't bark
Femal puppies
Ah the png luxury apartment the png luxury apartments. What do we think of this is that gonna be enough
To entice what is there?
Um, and I was interested in money. Okay, the elephant are in tax-free money. Yeah
Um, it's not the worst place in the world
I've been to png about five or six times if they've got
What they need for the players and there's gonna be guys at certain stages of their career
That would be prepared to go and it's as simple as that you're gonna get a young kid
That's denied an opportunity had a few injuries late, you know before and then you're gonna get
Guys having a midlife crisis and you're gonna get some guys at the end of their career
That don't think that it's over and I think that there's gonna be 30 NRL players
That will slot into one of those I think there is some big problems coming with the tax-free money. What I have
Very very reliable sources that say that the minerals minerals council of Australia are furious
Because of the concerns
Um, that employment tax specialists have raised around the Australian income tax non-resident status now
I know this sounds all but there are people
Who have got involved over this because there are people who are working for mining companies over in png
That aren't getting the same kind of exemption and I'm telling you now a little lucky. It's a company
I'll play then and say I get that I get that
Just because you don't get it and some like I'm not talking about it. I've got people
Very connected
And I'm a person that I'm a dog I'm a pin. Yeah. Oh, you're rich mates, right?
They go over there. They can't get a job. Go somewhere else and work
I want to ground in Australia. I'm telling you but they were happy working over there
But they're not getting tax exemptions and then non non-Australian residents like, you know, like
Chosen that yeah, that's the road they've chosen and they knew that before they left the shores
You can't have your cake and eat it too doggy. You know
It's not like they had it. It's not like they had it and then it's taken away
Because they're not coming there. I know
Just saying but they knew what they were getting themselves in for just like the
NRL player that goes over there will know what them getting themselves in for in luxury apartments and all that and the tax free money
I think it's great that part of you can you come into the competition? They would get paid exceptionally well to go work in png
Tell you mate from me, right? All those bikes that are texting you with a little rough list that you do
Take your footy beats over there and start playing in the local comp. Yeah, right. I can't probably they've got a dog show in png as well
I could be over there. I might add over there
This is a bean your bonnet someone's rang you
There's a little private school mate that goes over there
Hey, hey, hey, hey, I'm just telling it. There's some concerns
What do we like? What do we think about people that you know that use child labor
And they're all call it a double human behave yourself
Pong a pong at a New Zealand, but still play origin like at all of it
I don't like it all of it
I don't like it. I like it all of it
Listen, listen, listen, this look, this is my take
um
And we've got to move on from because they've changed the rules. They have changed the rules
Change a mate junior rugby league level to make sure that kids want to keep on playing our game, right?
I knew who I wanted to play for and I get it. It's only the money that I believe so take away the money
Right, so if you're born in Queensland you get the money if not
You watch them blow up then you watch them pick and I set it on three six and I'll say it again
We should not be begging and asking people to play for our state or our country
Right, and then I get oh mate, but they want to represent their dad
Or their mum and I love that about it too, but you know every jersey that I ever wore
You represent my mum and dad sure, so I didn't need to wear a certain colored jersey
And I may never have played for Australia and I may never have played for Queensland
But every single time I even played club footy back home in centrals. I represented my parents. So
I think it's flawed. I don't think it was broken state of origin is not broken
Right, it's never been broken. So um, I would rather lose and this is me talking. This is not every Queenslander
This is me. I'd rather lose with all the Queenslanders that you know the young kids from the bush that that like
That's their passion to wear that jersey
Some of that's moved here when they're 13 and then I spoke to a New Zealand
Radio station through the week they rang up
And they thought it was fantastic and when I said okay, so just imagine you guys are in New Zealand
North Island plays South Island and Gordon tell us moves there when he's 13
And then I I'm so passionate to play for the North Island because they give me 30,000 a game
And when it's time to wear the all black jersey. I go back and wear the Wallaby jersey. I wouldn't I don't know
No, that can't happen. I said well there you go. Yeah. I think everybody look. I don't agree with the dollar
I think Kalon loves playing for Queensland. I don't think I don't think Kalon's playing for the money
I think Kalon loves playing playing for quince and wearing him around Jersey
I think he loves it. He just doesn't want to play for Australia
And there's the distinction stepping stone so we
Gordy hasn't been a stepping guy hasn't been
It hasn't been addressed rehearsal rehearsal for test 40 forever in the day
Right, everybody. I know that you forgot where you come from right?
It's which right? Yeah, you know for a movie is Queensland a sub a state in Australia. Well, of course it is Gordy
There it is in the story
Or is Queensland a state in the story? Well, why can't he love Queens and love New Zealand? I don't you can
Well, he does but then you don't play for us pick one. You can't have two wives ready
Well, you can if you're from Utah or somewhere's loop. Okay. Be careful. We're taking a break. We're taking a break
This is a prime time. I'm triple M
For McDonald's and rim of order triple M Ross foodie
This is the triple M foodie prime time
Well, I'm back triple M prime time all thanks to Mitsubishi heavy industry air conditions Australia
James Graham Gordon tell us Brent Reed bend on with you ahead of mainly taking on new castle
kickoff is at
405 pm
New South Wales time
The Red Bull's key to success for the night's first round winners and
No sharp this week
Send and Smith stays in the halves
Matt Croaker will start Tyson Brazil comes from the bench James Graham
What are the key to success for this nightside this afternoon? Yeah, it's about their forward parking an aiming or they were they were the target from
The cowboys in their opening game
Against the the the cowboys over there in Las Vegas. So if the forward park stand up like they did
Two weeks ago
That'll give Kaylon Pong a plenty of opportunities. He was absolutely sensational a lot of talk about whether Dylan Brown or
Sandin Smith or Fletcher Sharp how that team was going to run
It was all about Kaylon Pong off the back of some very solid forward displays
I totally agree. I totally agree. It's
As I said earlier that it could be one with the fullbacks. That's how like that's how important they
Are they are but it'll be the
It'll be their forward pack. So, you know
Oligawar to Heatherington Ben and Ben and Jake Travovich
And then the hardworking new castle guys they've got to limit those guys. It's just it's just as simple as that
With new castle
The hangover from from
Vegas
We've had three teams come back. Well, they're trying to come back all right. Yeah
I know they've been but like they didn't like and they weren't way off the pace
They played Melbourne storm and they're super competitive
What do you think reading? I think it's about mainly a bench. I think they lost it when they're
They're bench the forward pack got rotated against camera. I think
Nathan Browneath and Ethan Bullinmore they got to have a huge gains for them
And and make sure make sure that they've got a tendency in the middle
Those guys come on and keep it going. I think that's the key for them
Yeah, that's the big one. That's the big one that they they really do need to make sure that
That when their bench starts. I think Heatherington
He will shape up this afternoon. Obviously he's starting but he's an important factor in it all
But it's more to be in the front row probably
But you know, he's tough as nails. Of course. Yeah, you know, it's like a bit of checker bait for him
Yeah, or what you know checker plate, you know, what it is no metal like a floor like in the back of a unit like checker
Yes, do stop stop
James Graham a tip from you this afternoon at four points. Who do you like? Oh
This genuinely speaking to really could go either way
I want to go mainly just purely of the fact that they're home and they they have to win
Really? I can't even know why I'm bothering after me. I think manly women win easy double. Yeah, of course you do
Of course you do. Thank you Brent Sebel
Who do you like?
Sorry
What do you like? Genoa. I think manly do start fast. So I'm gonna go
Manly simply because they're playing at home if this was played in Newcastle. I'll get a new cast
If you're playing footy lives on listener thanks to McDonald's and Reemho order
