Triple M40 is known for teamwork, friendship and supporting our mates.
None of these things exist on the Sunday Sinmen.
Your number one showing leg is James Graham, Gordon Tallos, Brent Reed.
This is Triple M40's Sunday Sinmen and the ringmaster of the circus.
Here's Ben Dobern.
Hello and welcome to a continuation around one.
This is the Sunday Sinven for Triple M.
Live from Suncorp Stadium, the Raging Bull Gordon Tallos, James Graham, Ben Dobern
and our newest member of the team, Brent Reed.
We'll start with you.
Well done. Hello.
Can we just say firstly the great James Hooper and his podcast.
We love that hoops. We're thinking of you.
We hope you're well. Buzz in retirement.
As he drives up the Pacific Highway to East Palatial at Kira.
We love you, Buzz.
Michael Chamus, where we had you, we didn't ever get on the show.
He was there and then he's now the head of football at Chief.
He's the Chief. He's the Chief.
And then we bring in Reed.
Just call me number four, Dobern.
I was number four as well. I know what it's like.
I would call you the hanky Chief.
I've always been an avid listener on a Sunday hour.
I just need to go out and discuss the big issues of rugby league
and I'm pumped about being involved.
I'm just pleased that I've got someone that I'm aligned with.
Well, I've got my little things up for grabs.
Oh, it's not me.
I listen to you, mate. You're with me and that's it.
We're going to take you. Raging Bull.
He's now in the offseason.
An owner of a rugby league franchise.
Great to have you back.
Congratulations on the ownership.
I can't wait till we play next week.
It'll be exciting.
It'll be exciting to watch us run out there and have our first performance.
But no, look at it.
You know, just to address it, it's sort of strange, right?
To start at the Townsville Sports Reserve as a, you know,
little scene boy to be in this position.
And I really got to think, you know,
what Darrell and Joe Cali did for the times,
because they saved them with Rebecca and Brett.
They're generosity.
And then it sort of started about halfway through the year about, you know,
I like to take up more of a role.
And I thought, you know, go there and instead of being an ambassador.
And I kept on telling people, but no one believed me that I did it for free.
I never got one cent out of the Titans.
And I was getting offered to go work at other clubs and Brisbane was one of them.
But I just thought we needed to be strong on the goal case.
And that's the reason why I took up the challenge because, you know,
the AFL there gets, I think, $15 million extra above their salary cap
to make sure that, you know, they've got a successful game on the goal case.
And that's where I want to retire.
And I thought, I want my grandkids.
And I want to be able to walk them into a stadium.
And our great games played.
And now to sit there and be part ownership.
And I was really nervous.
And for the first time, I got skin back in the game.
And yesterday hurt me like I lost the game again.
Which it's cool to get that, that sort of feeling back.
Because that's what you miss the most as an athlete is.
You know, when you can win and lose.
And I sat there yesterday and I was shocked.
Because, you know, you play those games.
And you don't know what went wrong.
But I think everything went wrong.
Well, we will talk about the Titans a little later.
But it's awesome.
The ownership group of the Titans.
And the frisels need to be congratulated.
Like it would have been very easy for them to say all us.
They bought the expertise that they bought in.
And we're staying in our lane, too.
Yeah, exactly right.
And we will talk about the Titans because I actually went to a luncheon with the frisels.
And what, regardless of yesterday, they are on the right track.
100%.
Yeah, we'll talk about that.
We've been railed really early.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This bloke has been known to bring the lover of chicken salt.
That's what I'm going to call you.
James Graham.
Great to see you again.
It was only Monday that I saw you after we came back.
How's your week been, mate?
Welcome back.
Yeah, it's been fantastic.
Dobba back in Sydney, loving being home.
We've got to witness 14 of the 17 teams.
And, you know, our early season predictions about who's going to go well,
who's going to maybe not go so well.
There's some people off to a flyer, some, some not so much.
And yeah, congratulations to Gordy on the owner.
And also congratulations on a magnificent Asher series.
Yeah, we should talk about that.
Yeah, we've got about that.
See Gordy in there.
I can't thank him and coach Walters enough for welcoming the people in there
to see the training.
Interesting to see that the NRL has reacted to the antics of Gordon.
Tell us in the blue shit from the Asher series.
They've now been completely banned.
Yeah.
Thanks to Gordy just constantly running on messages.
That's right.
You know what?
That is actually one thing that's so funny,
because they're trying to lock you in all the boys.
They got any messages?
No.
Any because Bala means one mattress or another in all their assistant coaches.
Yeah.
And Kevin was so cool under pressure and even sitting there with Willie goes,
God, I learned so much because they're just into the game.
You've got months, you've got Cleary.
You've got Wilds, you've got Harry Grant.
You've got Isaiah.
Yeah.
I know how to manage a game of football.
What messages are you going to send down?
So it was so cool to watch them.
And then, you know, what would you tell them Gordy when you ran out there?
But, well, okay.
So one thing when Tino kept his cool, right,
where he could have lost it because Tino is one of those five brand guys, right?
And he was, you know, and he's a protector, right?
So he goes out there and then, you know, when they're pushing and shoving
and then Harry grants.
So boys, keep your cool there.
Congratulations.
You know, and just all those little messages.
There wasn't too much footy because they work it out.
And then on the run, having Munster and Reese.
And like, there's enough eye-boys out there with rugby league experiences.
There's only about what they're doing and just watching the gas on, you know,
blokes like Paddy Carrigan, like those guys.
That work really hard.
Just making sure.
Did you enjoy it?
Like, I mean, because everybody, the feedback that you and what you're in,
and you got to know those players a little bit better.
I tell you what, I was so nervous, right?
And even the great Andrew Johns, who's probably the greatest player,
or if not the greatest player that I played against them with, right?
So we're sitting there.
And he was nervous sitting.
So we invited him to come in for the game in Liverpool.
And then he goes, oh, God, I can't.
So Harry, can you please ring?
So Harry Grant, the Australian captain.
Then put the olive leaf out to Andrew Johnson.
Hey, mate, we would love you to come.
And then he would come in.
But he was because that's that jersey.
And that's what it means.
And then as an ex-player to walk in with, you know, the cream of the crop.
You know, like our best ever or our best 22 guys going there to battle.
You know, you can feel, you know, like a little bit embarrassed.
I think as well for the Australian players to go over there to England
and experience the atmosphere.
It's specifically of games two, eight in Liverpool and three,
headingly for what some were considering to be a dead rubber.
I was delighted that coach Walter stuck with his original side.
And, you know, they could have been the temptation there to give some lads
that there was Australian testiers.
There was a lot of pressure.
But it was pretty showed now.
That's strong.
This means business.
And I think those players that went over, you know, they probably come away
from that, you know, first time in a long time that Australia was torn
and gone, you know, the international game is something I want to be a part of now.
It's big. It's big.
It's back.
We were in for the first game at Wembley.
We stayed in the same hotel as the spring box.
All as they wanted to do was come to train and come to the game.
So we got them like 20 odd tickets.
And they just wanted to go with trees.
So what?
Can I ask why you didn't take down the serial pest?
I mean, the serial pest that walked out and stood next to...
Oh, hell.
I mean, I was thinking...
The funniest thing.
Why isn't Gordy come on the field and just...
No, I mean, poor old guy.
That was so cool.
Because, um, monster and Patty Carrigan stand beside each other
because I don't know, they're superstitious and every big game that they play
that they want to sit there.
And then they went there, stand beside each other.
And then this big guy just comes and puts the arm around them.
And then they thought, is this guy from Make a Wish or something?
So they didn't want to go make it.
No, but you know what I mean?
Because they thought he was a competition winner or someone
who was...
You can't walk out on that crown and put your arm around a test part.
There was a famous case of a pitch invaded doing that with Manchester United.
And he purposely went on the opposite side of Roy Keen.
Roy Keen is the only one that noticed.
There's a photo he's looking across saying, who the hell is this?
All the other man United players.
Oh, just don't really care.
So he purposely went away from Roy Keen.
Precied.
Gordy, I'm going again at the end of the year for the World Cup.
What's the latest?
I was with Kevi at the airport this morning, actually, in the corner of slowns.
Kevi and I were having a chat.
I think he says he's got a meeting coming out with Peter about...
What happens this year?
Yes.
I'll never change my mindset of Queensland ring.
I'll never let him down.
And for Australia ring, I'll never let him down.
Because those two jerseys mean so much to me.
I think if Kevi goes and there's an eight match tournament,
I think he needs to take someone with more experience than me in the coaching games.
Well, I don't think Willie would be, because Willie...
No, Willie Keen...
Well, Willie Keen...
He could be coaching someone, right?
Yeah.
Well, like, then let's not...
Jimmy Graham?
Jimmy Graham's being named, as he mentioned, about an England coach.
We should address that.
Is there been an olive leaf from the England Rungly League
that you could potentially go in as a coach?
No, there hasn't.
Dover.
And look, you know what Gordy said there about, you know,
if England call, or if in Gordy's case, Australia or Queensland call,
well, for me, I don't think I could do it just as...
Like, I really don't.
I would feel like I'm underqualified.
Jimmy, so it's just a job and he picks up the final rings you and says,
Jimmy, I want you to be part of this camp.
Of course you will.
You'll tell him in, you'd say no.
The honest answer really is, I don't know,
like, and I'm being genuinely serious here.
I've looked at the avenue of coaching and looked at the amount of...
Don't like to use the word sacrifice, but time invested.
And I just don't know if I've got it in me.
I'm a big believer that you've got to be from that country.
Like, I'm a massive believer that if I was playing for Australia in an Englishman,
and that's not just respectful, that's because you're talking about Willie, right?
In the England job.
No, no, no, yeah.
But, no, this is not a bit Willie.
This is about the jersey.
So, England, for me, if I was the boss of England,
which I'm not a B. Sandberg, just Brian McDermott,
and this guy in there.
He would be looking at...
Burgess Graham.
Well, it might be a little...
A tip that a long time ago.
Because, hey, you imagine the beef in the car.
It just might be because...
You'd be a runner.
No, you'd be a runner.
I wouldn't have given the pollution.
He has to be.
So, you imagine he'd tell it to some of the players.
No, because...
Get in here, it'd have to go.
Brian McDermott's out here, right?
So, he's in a defensive coach and he's been at Newcastle.
So, he knows...
And that's where Willie was a godsend for us.
You know, helping us out with the English guys on what they're good at.
The Bull, Jammer, Brent Reed, Ben Dobben with you.
Sunday, Sin, Ben, back.
You don't have to go on Vegas.
Oh, listen.
Seriously.
Look, I had a couple of slip-ups.
Because I struggled on Vegas.
Yeah, it's the same.
Well, I struggled on Vegas.
The food and the coffee got me a bit over there.
But...
Is that what got you?
Yeah, that's what got me.
You all got me.
Like a direct sunlight.
I was doing some calculations.
I reckon in five days.
I saw three hours of sun.
You had to get it out.
Well, that's enough for you.
That stuck a yearly supply.
I know.
I know.
But...
You know, you could leave the hotel, Jammer.
You did look a bit red at different stages.
But I don't think that was from sunlight.
You could walk down the strip if you wanted to.
I'd just say...
Who was the best on-ground, like with the triple-end boys?
Like when you just sit there...
Behaviour?
No, yeah.
Like then, just the most consistent.
The guy that enjoys Vegas the most.
You're looking at it.
Yeah, you're looking at it.
No, mate, I'm looking at you.
No, no.
He set the tone big time.
He was unbelievable.
Oh, mate.
Come on.
Well, it wasn't chicken.
A chicken was sober.
Charlie White told everybody the whole time I'm sober.
I'm doing...
What is it?
70 draw, or what?
75 draw.
75 draw.
I saw a Jimmy at about three.
What an idiot.
Why would you go to Vegas then?
Why did you stay old?
Hey, listen.
Hey, listen.
Please don't throw some rocks.
Because I have some very, very big information.
You'll be out of big night.
You'll be out of big night.
You'll be out of big night.
And then you're ratted out the media manager
of the Newcastle night and reported to me.
Thank you.
A lot of trouble.
Well, that...
I did not report for you, dude.
That is not true.
And you were as bad.
I did have a big night.
I've acknowledged that.
Were you on the rosé again?
Oh.
And I had a couple of rosés with Freddie.
Did you go?
Yeah.
You were well-behaved.
I got told.
All in all, you were very well-behaved.
It's like my tenth trip.
Yeah.
And I'll tell you something for anybody that's going to go to Vegas.
Do you know one thing that I loved about Vegas?
Or is it a segment coming up?
I haven't read the rundown yet.
No, you can do it.
You know, like the greatest thing in...
And like I didn't know what it was going to do for our game.
But I went to watch the Eagles.
Right?
Exactly.
And I'm standing in the line and...
I'm jammered going to the bathroom.
So I'm standing there.
And this guy didn't see me.
He was in front of me.
And this American ask him a question.
You come all the way from Australia to watch the Eagles.
He has not come over here to watch Rugby League.
No pads.
No time out.
It's the greatest game on earth.
And this guy turned around and he sold our game for like a minute.
I'm thinking, God, I'm great.
Triple M didn't see this.
Well, he'd have their job.
But that's what it's about.
Do you know what it's about?
It's about our thing.
Yeah.
Going and watch their favorite product.
The thing that they've loved all their life.
And their team or their jersey or their emblem.
What they've watched with their kids and their grandkids.
Goes over their employees.
And the entertainment capital of the world.
And that's what I watch with the North Queensland Cowboys.
To see North Queenslanders.
And they were staying in my hotel.
And watching how proud they were of the Cowboys.
Whether they won or not.
North Queensland have a side in the comp now.
Well, for 25 years, maybe 30 years.
And going and playing there.
I think, you know, that's what it does for our fans.
It's a show that our game belongs on the world stage.
It is a great investment.
Peter Valencia.
Just rightly, God.
He had good was the Eagles in the sphere.
Well, unbelievable.
Well, Jenna, what?
The guy from an excess Gary.
Lovely guy.
Gary Beas.
Gary Beas.
Fantastic.
He's always there.
And he plays these concerts.
And he comes and finds us.
And we go watching it.
Someone from Savage Garden.
He's got these great Aussie musos.
And he always plays.
And he puts our name on the door at these cool events.
So I've gone from teakities.
Like beautiful.
Wait.
To watching these Aussie guys.
And the song was,
M-A-E-V-G-A-N-C.
Oh.
It's a little bit of a cultured atmosphere.
It's too classic.
I'll make it.
Let's talk to him.
Let's talk to him.
Let's talk to him.
Last night, the Raiders.
And we had Ethan Sanders who unfortunately had to go
because of the technical difficulties.
He's now on a plane.
That's not kicking the plug out, Dobba.
Raiders 29.
Manly 28.
In Golden Point.
Ethan Sanders.
Left foot field goal.
It was super classy by this young weight-ready.
They've had big wraps on him.
He left Paramata.
He went down there.
He did a year of New South Wales Cup.
And Jamal Foggy.
He up against his former team.
Well, they've made the right decision already, Canberra.
Well, he's had to be patient.
Right.
He's been waiting in the wings for a year for Jamal Foggy.
He didn't just learn, he's tried Dobba.
It's been huge wraps to him for a long time now.
He played New South Wales under 19.
A few years ago with Ethan Stranger and that team.
Jamal, he was in that team.
A lot of those guys are at Canberra now.
And as I said, there were big wraps on him.
Paramata is stuck by Mitch Moses there.
He's finally got his opportunity.
I'll tell you what, man.
What stunned me about him was his composure.
Even after kick that field goal.
It looked like I thought he missed it because he was so calm
and composed.
The expression on his face was like, I haven't got this.
It was remarkable.
Well, really.
I'm glad you brought that up because I'm looking at the other side
of the fence and go.
Where was the manly pressure?
Yeah.
Like it was poor.
Where on earth was it?
Like how and the contrast between the attempted field goal
from Foggy to from Manley and Canberra players called off
side the sense of agency there.
They were desperate to stop that two-point field goal.
Sanders.
I thought I didn't expect it, Jimmy.
I thought he wasn't going to take it.
But then the question is out.
Why are we not expecting it?
Like, why are we not?
I think you've got to give a lot of credit to Canberra.
Hardly had the football for the opening ten minutes.
That zaps a lot of energy.
Papa Lee, he gone with the HAA.
I didn't have the football field goal.
What a game.
14 down and then 14 ahead.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They did a very nice job getting back into it.
But credit to Manley.
To come back to get it to Golden Point.
Obviously a penalty was what got them tied up.
But the Manley side, and I know Seabold will be upset.
A lot of Manley fans have just pointed.
But I didn't think they'd gone once they got to 14 ahead.
Can I just, like there's an elephant in the room.
Foggy doesn't want to pull the tree out.
He's got to have a shot.
There's guys that kick at 40 meters out.
And do you know what?
That's how, geez, that's a long way, right?
With the Aussie side.
I actually expect you to kick it with the Bulldogs and Round 1.
Right?
You got Burton on every social media platform
that the dogs want to throw out there.
He's hitting at 60.
He gets a penalty 50 out.
He doesn't take the two.
There's some people.
And it's okay to lose.
It's okay to miss.
And Foggy, in that first set, you're 40 out.
If my halfback has a shot, I'm going to defend it.
Because that's, you know, I mean, like,
it might be a medical play.
And it's obviously, you know, like a 50-50.
But I want my halfback to stay there and have a shot.
And he didn't.
Staying his roles there and there.
First set, which doesn't normally happen.
He just had a crack.
I think for Sanders, obviously, the focus will be on the field goal.
But I think in general play, he played really well.
That show and go try as well.
That was really classy stuff.
His kicking game was great, Jimmy.
Kicking games with that ball.
I love that show and go.
That's not a five-game annual play.
Yeah, you could give him for playing a little bit,
playing a bit early.
They had a big race on him.
Yeah.
But he meowed double.
Like, you forgive him for playing to his edges.
You know, being a bit hesitant.
But he, the way he took that line on that was,
that was.
I mean, that's the benefit.
Sorry.
I'm laughing.
That's paramount.
I lost another one.
Because one of my best mates takes me.
Paramount of boy went.
Perfect.
Be sure he's fair.
And he's weak.
He's over that.
He's been able to sit in the last cup.
Play a couple of seasons in the last cup.
With that side.
With that side.
Find a new spot.
Without the pressure on you.
That's right.
And he got a fair coat.
Choose a half-back as well, helping him.
And Ricky brought in there,
and Ricky said to him,
this preseason,
you will be my half-back.
They brought Kobe Black there.
But Ethan Sanders was always going to be the half-back side.
You're ready, mate.
I said that for like 10 years.
Right.
So when I first got into it, right.
Alan Linger.
Passed the ball to Wally Lewis.
Peter Sterling.
Peter Sterling passed the ball to Brett Kenney,
like all our great number sevens,
like Ricky Stewart passed to a lorry alley
in the Malmonega, so they had really good setup around there.
Now some of these young kids are in there,
and they're passing the ball to someone
without Wally Lawson's experience.
So Alan Langer, like that apprenticeship
that he would have done, you know,
underneath Wally Lawson, you know, Sterling and Kenney,
and then like that, you know, like,
anyway, there's sort of combination,
but these young kids, they come in and we expect them
to get around her matter, like you,
like you look at him, is he going to be the next Peter Sterling?
If you put the Brisbane jersey on,
are you going to be the next Alan Langer?
Well, no one sort of got close to those guys.
Well, Ethan Strange, Ethan Sanders,
that they could grow old together.
That is a half-backed pairing that,
you know, Campbell will be looking at,
you know, for the next decade, at least.
I got stuck there, I thought,
I thought one of the real highlights of last night
was not only the mullet,
but the form of Noah Martin, who came in there,
and, I mean, he's caught it, it's a twist.
I mean, they had that cost-kings from the bench,
who was wonderful for them when he came on
and steady the ship.
But Noah Martin just was unbelievable.
This is what the K-Tricky Stewart and the press conference
had to say about this young man.
Yeah, I'm Sony Stats.
I soon, I've seen from him Wally, I picked him.
No young black loss to sit back and have to wait
to play to start the funeral career,
but he's being patient while I grew up in Wally Lawson.
Noah was a competitive kid, he just wants to play
in a real, but he sat back,
he wanted to haunt some experienced back rowers last year,
an injury to Maddie Nicholson,
with his shoulder opened up a pathway for him,
but insane that he's off season has just been superior.
So he deserved his position,
and, you know, he repaid the players
in regards to his performance tonight.
Gordy, I'll go to you as an edge back row up,
your thoughts on him.
The worst haircut ever in the back row.
No, mate, but what an impact.
Like, did that try that he scored?
I thought it was a basketball,
I think there's no way he got it down,
but just these confidence.
You know, I love back rowers,
they just have a mix in their game, right?
And they got a great,
and he's got a combination with his halves already,
and I know that they're young,
but just the way that he was able to hit holes, bounce off,
easy speed, yeah, like then he's got, obviously now,
right, so he was playing as an unknown,
not too many people knew his name,
so the challenge for him is every week
is just to keep on staying at that level
because he's put the bar that high,
and just keep on growing his game,
but like, yeah, like the back row,
it's so competitive.
Like, I think you've got to really respect the work
of Martin there to get that spot and starting spot,
but also Ricky Stewart, let's not forget,
this was the mind of Premier's last year,
that you could forgive Ricky Stewart,
and likely when he finished last season,
you know, looking at the players coming in,
obviously Ethan Sanders is gonna be my number seven,
Jamal Foyote is going out,
but pretty much they've got,
that there's not really much to tinker with,
but Martin's gone away in that preseason,
and I've said this before about a number of players
that are maybe just happy to just be,
be an NRL player, or be in the squad of Canberra,
he's looked at what's ahead of him,
and yeah, there's been some fortune there with an injury,
but he's just gone, I'm not gonna accept being this way,
I'm gonna bang down the door of my coach,
each and every day of this preseason.
Well, he was the put huskings today,
exactly, because he's a great background,
and tried and true, and in the grand final,
sorry, that's in the final last year,
he was probably one of the Raiders best players,
and you've got a Hudson young on one side,
of course.
Yeah, so there's some great backgrounds,
you know, in the green jersey.
That's a sign that he's got a mental switch,
because we know the physical capabilities of him,
but it's just that mental application
to go in each and every day of preseason,
bang down the door, showcase coach,
you can't ignore me anymore,
I know in the minor premieres,
I know we're going in the right direction,
but you've got to pick me ahead of these guys now.
I'll tell you what,
you were all talking about his two trials,
and how impressive he was with the board,
just looked at the stats, depending on what website you look at,
he had their 39 or 48 tackles, but he didn't miss any.
And that's, I'm sure Ricky appreciates that,
as much as the two trials,
the fact he got through so much work,
didn't miss any tackles,
shows he's got an all round game now, Martin.
Well, if they picked up where they left off camera,
they were very good coming back.
And I've been on all the bad wagons,
we'll talk about that a little later.
This is a Sunday C&B in live from Suncob Stadium.
Just talking about the charge sheets from last night,
Tino, who was placed on report for that shoulder charge
on Blake Braley, first offense,
grade 1, $1,500 early plea, which is good.
I know some people last night in the coverage
were thinking he might get a couple of weeks.
I thought it was quite innocuous.
I was quite surprised they were talking whiplash and everything.
Britain, Nicarah, he obviously,
dangerous contact, he had a grade 1 charge.
It's his second offense.
He coped an $1,800 on Ajay Brimson.
And Tuky Jenkins was obviously first offense,
$1,000 on Toby Rudolph.
So there we know players missing out of that game,
which is great for the Titans, which we will talk about.
Now, Rudy, you will be conflicted here
because we're going to talk about Manley.
So I don't know how you're actually afflicted.
Well, we know your relationship with Manley.
And so I thought once again, they were underwhelming.
And they had a great start.
Underwhelming, they were leading by 14.
Yeah, and then got, and then got lapsed.
They had a great, great opening, 10.
A great last 10, Dobbo.
But the 16 between, I grew with you, was underwhelming.
But if they could bottle the first 10, the last 10,
they got a pretty fair football team on their hands.
Hang on, how much of the first 10 was the rate is ill-discipline?
It was a bit of both, though.
It was a bit of both, though, you can't just say it was the rate is ill-discipline.
I mean, they still had to control the ball.
You can't play like that for the first 10
for the whole 80 minutes.
It's just impossible.
No, you can't, but their discipline is good.
Their ball control was good.
Their attack was good in the open in 10 minutes.
Because that, I know, game.
That loadable ball in the open in 10 minutes, right?
And that's not going to happen.
Well, it will never happen again.
It's never happened in my memory in rugby league.
The team has the ball for the open in 11 minutes of a game, right?
But at least they, they didn't waste that open in 11 minutes.
I mean, they scored points, which is what you want to do.
They could have had all the ball in the world,
but if they came away with no points,
we'd have turned around and gone, well, that was rubbish.
But at least they made the most of it.
Then the way they lost control of their game
and they got dominated after that.
I would imagine Ceebs was at home.
Just 14 nilup, you know, you've got to win that game.
You've got to win that game.
And I think, you know, for me, a couple of things
that are how I won a highlighted earlier,
the lack of urgency to put the pressure on Sanders.
Like, you very rarely see a field goal
where a player gets that much time.
Like because every team, every player is on to it.
We know, golden point.
Well, you're either going to put pressure on the kicker anyway,
or you know that they're going for a field goal.
So you take their time in space way.
Contrast that with what the Canberraiders did
where they actually got penalized for being offside.
They were so urgent.
And there was a couple of moments in the game that,
you know, we talk about, and yesterday
was a great example of, like, swings in momentum.
Momentum changes.
And we talk about it all the time.
But one of the things that I like to think about
is, how do I change momentum?
So we can witness it.
But what's the catalyst for it?
Sometimes it's a little bit of luck.
Jamal Fowl, you take for Manley, puts up the spiral bump.
Keo weeks, drop, miss places it, fumbles around with it.
They tackle Keo weeks in the five.
One play, one play, and Canberra up and running.
That whole set, it actually finished on the 100,
the kicker to the 100 meter mark.
There was no agency from the Manley players there to go.
We've got an opportunity to change momentum here.
Let's go after it.
They just didn't do that.
They allowed the Raiders, a little too past shift.
And they were away like,
Jimmy, I don't just screw with you, bro.
But I would say this about Manley,
there are a couple of performances this weekend
where you look at them and you go,
there were no positives at all those performances.
At least Manley, you look at their performance
and there were some positives.
Tommy looked good again.
Tolu Kuhli, you just got to get the ball in his hands.
Brady, it's about wins and losses.
I am a city, it's about wins and losses.
I understand that Tolu.
He's under pressure, and you know it.
A little bit of class stuff.
A little bit of class stuff.
Seabolt's under pressure.
And you know it.
Seabolt is under pressure.
Just on that.
This one game, Tolu.
I know it's one game, but it's about wins and losses.
And it is about wins and losses.
And we can take examples of paramatter and the Titans.
And you put a line through those performances
and you put that in the lost column.
But that was a game that Manley
had opportunities to win.
Well, they should have won it.
And they should have won it.
They shouldn't get the two points.
And that one, that's it.
That arguably heads more.
Paramatter.
They put the tape in the bin and say,
look, we've just got to complete the Titans.
Scrap that one.
Manley looking at that and they're scratching their head.
I'm scratching their head.
I think I'd rather lose by a point.
They lose by 50 Jimmy.
But what were we, what were we?
You still lose two, you still don't get the two points.
But what I said was, at least from their performance,
there were some problems.
Tommy playing like he did.
They're going to win a lot of games at Tommy stays fit
and plays like that.
Well, they get the ball.
OK, so what if 14 nilop?
I understand that Jimmy, they should have won it.
I'm not saying they shouldn't have won the football game.
They should have won it.
They make the eight ready.
Well, they weren't my eight before the season began, Cordy.
So there's nothing more so much.
That means there is pressure there.
Of course, there's pressure.
Of course, there's pressure there.
If Manley don't make the eight,
do you believe there'll be a catching change?
I don't know. It depends, Tobbe.
Come on, you can't just on a northern beach.
You can't just...
I think there will be.
I think there will be.
What if they finish ninth?
Well, they don't make the eight.
What night will last?
It doesn't matter.
They don't make the eight.
That does make a difference.
So I think it makes a difference.
If you're Manley, their expectation is that they make the eight this year.
With that roster.
OK, they've missed Tommy in previous years.
If Tommy goes down, what, that changes everything.
That completely changes the landscape of their expectations.
And their football team.
So I think it depends on how things play out.
If all things stay equal and they miss the eight,
yes, seems as under immense pressure.
We know he's under pressure.
Right?
They did a review last year.
When you do a review.
Every year.
It's going to be for the Tottie Payton with Queensland.
There was a review done up there.
Got rid of all his assistant coaches.
He's under huge pressure.
I absolutely agree.
Absolutely agree.
I think those are the two coaches that are.
If they don't make the eight,
I think there could be shifts there.
And anyway, Ceebs wants to go out and be the general manager.
Well, I know that he does them all the double.
I think he wants to continue coaching.
He's had a change of heart.
Well, I think that was an idea that got floated.
And it never really got off the ground.
Good shot down.
I know I've got shot down, Gordon,
but it never really gathered in the momentum.
So my understanding is he'd love to keep coaching.
He's a coach, right?
He's a very good coach.
He's a good coach.
He's a good coach, is he?
Well, he's coached for his great mate.
And he's had it two clubs, three clubs.
He's had it turned to a preview.
I'm not saying he's the best coach there,
but he's a survivor.
So how do you judge him?
Mike, I mean, he's three clubs.
Well, it's actually huge coming this way.
They play new castle.
It's a four pines park.
They cannot afford to lose rope in two games the year at home.
They need to beat new cars.
Okay, really?
If he's one in six or three in nine,
he won't get an answer.
He's under immense pressure.
Gordon, immense pressure.
He would know that.
He's not silly.
He's been around the block, Ceebs.
I mean, even though I'm not a journalist,
I don't ring, but you reckon he will.
He lasts the season.
I hope he does.
I hope he does.
I really do.
Because I like it.
I get on well with it.
You know that.
That's a really unfair question.
Goodie.
Because I get on well with the guy and I like him.
No, no, no, no.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
It's not going to be defensive here.
Hold on.
So you can him and me about the times.
And I'll take every question.
Because there are only questions.
And I'd like to ask the question.
What was your question?
Again, repeat your question.
Okay.
I won't ask you.
Well, mainly fans want him as the coach.
If they missed the finals,
I would imagine there'd be some unhappy fans, Gordon.
What about if they're three from nine with what happened last year
with the DCE with everything that's gone on?
Well, he's under immense pressure.
Gordon.
They're three from nine.
Of course he is.
Of course he is.
No question.
Yes, he's under immense pressure.
They're nine.
Yes.
Of course he is.
As any coach in the inner world.
They're all under pressure.
Yes.
There's only one.
Ivan Cleary's not.
Great Balinese not.
Wayne's not.
Wayne's not.
But the rest are.
And Trent's under pressure.
Who?
Robbo.
There were roosters fans called Robbo's head on social media
after.
Yeah, because he's one of the three comps for that club.
Can I tell you what Nick?
Nick is Lord has success.
Yes.
He's also very Lord of Robbo, though.
Gordon.
I know he loves winning Nick and he does love winning.
But man, he loves Trent Robinson.
Just back to see Bolden, manly.
Forget wondering about where they'll be in ten rounds.
He needs to fix the sense of agency there.
And the situational awareness.
He was filthy last night.
And he should be because it's two points that they blew away.
You're never going to get that ten minutes of complete ball
in the opening exchanges.
Pupply, he gone.
Persecut back, you'd think.
Play for the middle.
You've got to go into the middle, Jimmy.
Yeah.
They got owned for the middle of that field.
After the opening ten minutes, they just got dominated
through the middle of the field.
And they've got to have a sense of knowing
when that momentum's about to go their way.
And they just didn't.
The last time I saw a field goal go over with no pressure like that.
It was the dragons against South Slush here.
And I think it was good.
I thought Gordy described it quite well.
You know, the fact that you're right about that.
But the knock on Foggedy down in camera was a lot,
that he did nice the games when it mattered.
And that big moment.
Big moment.
Gordy just boarded up and he said the element in the room.
I said, you know, he had a chance there.
You've got to want to do it, right?
Yeah.
Listen.
The hard guy or Les Davison's going off the head or in Roberts.
I did, but that's my job to go there and get in front of him, right?
My job as a half back, if we've got him in range and you're the kicker
and go back to the Australian side, right?
So they'll have in a field goal competition, right?
Yeah.
These are the guys who they compete against.
And if I'm in that weight category, this is what I've got to do.
That a field goal competition, Reese Wells comes and hits one from 60.
And you just walk past the clearing of the boys.
So they're hitting them 50.
So like they practice 40, 40, 50, 55.
So they're practicing under so much pressure to hit it from there.
That's what your competition's doing.
That's what you got to do.
You got to be prepared to pull the trigger.
Yeah.
And if you're not, you got to put someone in there that is.
You're right.
Knights V, manly at four points.
This is huge.
Yeah.
Because they had a good first.
Week two.
And it's a sharp going to be back.
No.
No.
I walked up to him because I met him at the KO function that when Patrick Delaney had it.
And I walked up and out of the chat and he's a lovely guy.
And I walked up what I felt.
Sorry for him.
And he just said, made it just locked up.
Because you know, he went down and I went, what happened?
He gets it just locked up.
He gets it's no pain.
But I just couldn't run on it.
It's just so.
I don't have to heal him.
Lukey scored.
They had to tag him off.
Like there was no.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No one knows from the makers of the earth is flat
and I'm only having one beer comes.
I call BS.
I call BS all thanks to area.
Kit yourself out head to toe with area quality clothing and boots comfortable and stylish
from the outback to the opposite's area.com.au.
20% off selected men's and women's footwear online or in store at area branded stores.
Brent Reed, you're first up for I call BS because obviously this is your maiden run at this.
Away you go. I asked you a question, Dova, do you consider yourself a team player?
Do you consider yourself a team player? Yes, I do.
I want to take people inside our morning. So we got off the plane this morning, Jimmy,
Charlie, Justin, all of us guys. We go get a coffee on the way to the stadium. So we went to a
coffee shop about 500 metres up the road. Jimmy had a kilometre of road. We had me a coffee
and it starts bucketing down, teaming down with the rain. So there's no way to get to the stadium.
Well, there is. It's an Uber. It's an Uber. It's an Uber. It's an Uber.
As I understand it, Charlie rung you and said, Dobbo, would you mind coming and pick us up?
Well, this response was no. I've got no interest in picking you up. I'm already at the stadium.
I'm not going anywhere. Okay. In the warmth of a commentary case.
Okay, right. For Jerome, we're here. Let's not put some pepper on the story.
We walked out. When I got here, I was drenched, Dobbo. And you call yourself a team player.
Hey, listen, so I'm calling beer. I'm on your side and for someone that gets to the commentary box,
two hours before we start, you could be better prepared. Yes.
I was, we were drenched, Dobbo. Yeah, you'd be better prepared.
You would have been. That's all. That's all. It's too good to come on.
Jimmy, I'm sorry. Hey, listen here. Listen here, listen here. But that was,
I'll just tell you this right now. I'm just going to defend myself in the distance.
The bite that you're talking about, Charlie White didn't ring. I had buffet hearing twice.
Jimmy Graham. Jimmy Graham twice. Yeah. I'm, and he just, okay, just green the first call.
No, well, I was on the phone.
Oh, sorry.
I was doing preparation for the show as hold on any time
anybody ever rang you, sorry, make it go to go.
Another call coming through.
Anyway, your spare by the way, we'll need to bring that up
at some point during the year.
Wow.
Talk about.
Yeah, go on, go on.
Check a little.
I'm okay.
Can I just say this now?
Once you're in the stadium, you can't,
once you leave in your vehicle, you cannot get back in.
I thought you were in.
No, it was all closed.
That's what I call bullshit.
You told me you run this mate, once you got your ticket,
once you got your ticket, you got your ticket,
you can get me in and out, right?
I can walk out.
I can walk out.
Have you not heard of it, Uber?
You have said to me many times,
I can do what I want at some cost.
Right, you've started poorly.
Okay, who do you want to go?
No, you were like, go, this is no point.
So Ari, it's been fantastic, right?
Unbelievable.
And they got great boots.
Yes.
Right, so you got a pair of work boots on.
Yes, that's right.
They are at work boots.
Yes, that's great.
Yep, they're called altarones.
They're brand new.
They are at school.
Well, they're brand new.
I put them on for the first time today.
This is a blisters, if you wear work boots, right?
I'm putting them on because I'm working
on the sideline in the mud and today,
and these are my mud boots.
I got them yesterday.
It's Charlie not told you,
he's got sideline.
That's not happening.
No, I knocked it back to me.
Oh, that's what I was talking about.
Get you to this, get you to this.
He's very careful.
There are other people,
there are other people who want your jobs.
They'll be very careful.
Gordon Tell us.
Are you talking to yourself and the wife?
Yeah.
No, I do what really ignored me, right?
So we went to Vegas and everybody talks about price.
And it's not the price.
It's just the fact that our dollars are so shit, right?
But you come back and I landed back on Tuesday morning,
say about 9.30, about to do 3.60 that night.
I get to the airport and there was a new blind thought on.
I'll go to the taxi.
And I got in the back of the taxi.
And this bloke turns to me and he goes, where are you going?
I said, I'm going to the poor man.
I said, he goes, that'll be 60 bucks.
I said, why don't you turn that meter on?
Oh, yeah, this is an issue.
And he goes, no, no, it's $60 to the city.
I said, I'll pay you whatever the meter.
And he wouldn't move.
So we had a stand off.
So I sat in the car for five minutes
so he missed a few rides and then jumped out and got a new one.
But like that, I don't agree with this.
It's just, no, but hold on, I'm asking.
I don't know, legislation.
But I thought that when you jumped into a meter car,
like taxi, like it runs by the meter.
And I'm happy to pay me.
It could have been 80 bucks.
But like I know the way in there,
I don't know what it would have been.
But I'm happy to pay whatever the meter says.
But all these taxi drivers that pull up
and drive past people when it's busy
and try to throw a number at them, give me a break.
I'm with you on.
Pull your heads.
No, you were moaning last week about Uber drivers
seeing that you want cabs.
I'm a much more of a cab guy than an Uber guy.
Because you know what, I feel that anybody can drive an Uber.
We're at taxi license.
People have hard earned money
have gone and bought taxi licenses.
Well, can I just turn your meter on?
Or just bodge your meter up and get out of it
like an extra five cents a kilometer over there.
Can I just make a map of you to pay
if you can't tell me that's the price?
No, anybody can drive in it.
Okay.
No, there must be some sort of
pooh-church in there.
Jumping to you.
And I know that you can't jump through too many hoops.
I'm a double abbie.
I've been training hard.
Can I please talk about,
and I want to talk about my flight home.
And I'm not going to single out one particular airline
that I had a horrid experience on the way home from Vegas.
And I'm not a business class or a premium economy person.
By the way, I love corners, by the way.
So do I.
So do I.
But I paid extra for leg room for the bulkhead.
Now, I love kids on planes.
We've taken our kids on planes before.
But if you are going to sit in bulkhead,
if you're going to sit, if you're going to sit.
Second week, the mothers are turning off.
What are you doing to us?
I just would like some notice,
because I bought a bulkhead seat,
and I'm an ounce to me.
A lot of lady, it's more leg room at the front.
What are they called?
A bulkhead.
Because it's leg, anyway,
I'm not getting into the seat.
Anyway, unbeknownst to me, the lady next to me,
had a four-month-old, his name was Sonny.
You got the chrome button.
And I got the, no, the cot.
Oh, the cot.
The cot was down, and I'm up against the window.
For nine hours, I couldn't get out.
I almost urinated in a bottle.
And what I would say to try, what I would say is,
if you are going to have babies in the bulkhead,
you need to let people know that there's a baby there.
So I could do it.
Is it the first time you've turned right on the plane?
Did you normally turn left?
I've never turned left.
Never.
I once.
Once.
So you've never sat business class.
Voice.
Yeah.
You've never sat business twice.
And I didn't pay for it.
You know, I was lucky.
I was a gift.
Most of the time, I'm right up the rear back.
I just thought you'd pass on.
I got you.
I was super thirsty, I mean, you could've gone the aisle seat.
I could've gone the aisle seat.
Yes.
And I could've gone to the bathroom.
But you knew much now that so, that way...
It feels like she was a very nice lady, but I just think the airline needs to give a
better notification if you've got that because the baby was asleep, I'm respectful.
I'm respectful.
The baby was asleep in the cot.
I couldn't get out.
I was stuck.
It was not a good feeling.
Do you know that poor baby and lady felt just thinking, who's this?
Well, the baby liked me.
I don't think she did.
The baby smiled.
Anyway, go ahead.
Well, when I woke up, little sunny, anyway, away you go.
My ICOBS is on me good, on a couple of predictions and, you know, we all made mistakes, some
educated mistakes, some choice decisions, you know, myself last year, I'll hold my hand
up.
I got the rate of season predicted wrong.
You said they're going to be wooden spinners and they won them on a premier.
That's wrong.
That's a big, big wrong.
All right.
OK.
Yeah, it wasn't the only one that made the mistake, but I was listening to a podcast the other
day.
And you were in, no, double, you don't need to interrupt.
I was listening to a podcast the other day and just, like, if you want to talk about nonsense
and just what this person said, like, listen to this for an outlandish prediction.
Let's just court for it is how they're not, and other roosters are leading the bedding
at the moment with the Bronx.
And I understand.
Are the roosters ahead of the Bronx?
No, they're all around the same.
Yeah.
But I think Penrith are the real, real smoky for the, the real smoky for the comp.
Oh, sorry.
They're bad.
It's favorite.
You're numbed in.
For no one's saying, everybody's saying the roosters.
I don't know if that's that bad.
No, they're the last five cops.
I'm a smoky.
But in last year, you know, it's a smoky.
Penrith, didn't it?
No, you know.
You know, it's a smoky.
Penrith, didn't it?
Oh, you know.
You know, it's a smoky.
Are they going to break it out?
Yeah.
Penrith are ridden that bad.
Can I just say this now?
There's smoke.
You aren't.
Pow.
Can I just say this now?
No.
I just want to give...
There's smoke!
They'll give enough هو!
That's the Monday, that was Monday...
That was Thursday.
I was hungover.
Over, over.
I'm mad.
Gang a comment.
Just had the pad of padded through that podcast.
And, you were there as well.
So you've been wanting to show your hungover?
Yes, I was.
Well, what planet are you...
Penrith, aren't you smoky?
Can I ask you this?
about your town. I asked a simple question doing over. What do you say? What's the rainfall here?
What's the rainfall in the desert? Exactly. I'll make things ominitiate for asking. What's the rainfall?
What were the camp at Uber traffic? No, that's because he's a local. He knows about, out and about.
Okay, what you're a local. What's the rainfall in Queensland? Well, it depends which area.
Here? Brisbane. Yeah. 31 inches a year annually. That'll rain.
Rubbish. Go on Google it. Go on Google it. Where?
Go on Google it. Where? What's the every drain for? I'll get it up. We're in the break.
41 inches. That's got it wrong. Okay. 41, not 31.
No, you don't become a living driver. No point.
Hopefully you don't become a living driver. No, I'm a 10 inches. There's a lot. Yeah, well, it is.
Taking a break. You haven't started, Will Grabe.
Welcome back, Triple M Sunday, Sinbind. Jama Gordy, Brent Reed, Ben Dobin.
South Sinney, taking on the Dolphins this afternoon. Kick off three o'clock, Queensland time,
four o'clock, New South Wales time. Brisbane's Friday night performance.
Obviously, we finished the Sunday Sinbind. They were the champions.
They won the premier ship last year. And it just seems with this big club.
There's always controversy. They're always in the news cycle. They got back to the football field.
They were beaten 24-year-old by a pen racide that were very, very classy in the end.
Mistake, written first game, but there's a lot more probably going on off the field than what is actually going on the field.
So we'll start with obviously the Paine House. And we haven't had the time to unpack it as a show.
Gordy, were you surprised that he chose to leave? Super surprised.
Obviously, Paine House. There's some players that have always, you know,
they're sniffing full like, full like deals and Paine House's name comes up a fair bit,
you know, like, especially in Brisbane, you know, that he's here or, you know, he's going to be extended.
And then I didn't think that he would ever leave. And then when I heard he was gone,
I just automatically thought Rugby Union, R360 or Japan Rugby or whatever it was.
And then the shock for me was South Sinney. The shock for me was Paine House leaving Brisbane
to go play at another NRL club. That was the only shock for me.
I think we're all shocked, Gordy, because he looks so happy. He just won a comp, right?
But, you know, people's tried to explain this as a mad issue or, you know, wants to be with Paine.
I don't think it's any one issue that has led to Paine leaving. I think it's a combination.
I think it's a bit of Wayne. When he spoke so positively, positively about Wayne,
I think that can't help, help a reflect on his current coach, even though he hasn't,
he's been very kind about marriage. But when you speak about Wayne the way he spoke about Wayne
and how much he wanted to plan to Wayne and his managers, I'm had spoke about how much Wayne was involved in this.
But there's no way he can talk that positively about Wayne and not have it reflect a little bit on your current coach.
I think he wants a new challenge. I think money's probably played a part in this at some point.
There's no money. That's wrong. What's wrong? Money?
Yeah, the money's different. Like the money he could have made more money in.
Not on the original offer, not on the first.
Listen, really, they were never going to lose him. Please don't do that.
And if it was about money, if it was about money, it'd be a path best.
I didn't say I said everything paid a part.
I'm not saying it was purely about money.
Do not say because that's what Brisbane are trying to get out there.
What's that? Money.
Right, but let me tell you what I've heard.
Listen, listen, listen. They've got two million dollar halfbacks.
They've got one from dragons. They don't need money. Like they're not worried about money.
Get rid of one of those and they can afford it.
So don't talk about money. Right? So they can talk about how they mishandled,
you know, the salary cap, but they can't talk. Brisbane don't lose people.
I don't think Brisbane is upset.
Yeah, but it's not money when it comes.
Yeah, the Brisbane are upset. They lost paying house.
Well, they should be.
I don't.
Let me tell you now that if they're not,
I'm going to give you a theory here.
Get the tissues out because you want to be upset.
Because I'll tell you what, in 12 months' time, you'll be wishing,
you'll be praying that you could tell.
Okay. So what Gordon just said, just hear this out.
Well, Gordon just said he's correct and there's a bit of a riddle to it.
So they do pay too much for their halves at the moment.
No, but that's great.
Just hear that.
That's not a thing.
Hold on. Hold on. No, we can't.
No, Gemma, you can't do that to the game.
You can't do that to the bottom eight sides when he's playing at a bottom eight side
and they're paying him a million dollars,
then I'm going to go to this club, but I don't want that money.
But that doesn't pass.
But that, no, because it doesn't pass.
It doesn't pass.
It doesn't pass.
It is.
It's not worth it.
Ben Hunter's not worth me and dollars anymore, Gordon.
Okay. So anybody else?
So no one.
So what? No club would say Ben Hunter.
So what did you see?
I mean, we'll bet.
These, these he's worth.
So the last pair of pinnets.
What's, I say, yeah, what?
So did you watch this?
Did you watch this year?
Well, I got to talk about this.
Oh, no, no.
This is your watch.
What's wrong?
This is your boy.
I don't get better at 30 say it just.
I'm 36.
We're talking about a million dollars.
We're talking about salary caps and we're talking about what they get at the last.
Oh, Gordon.
And I'm just talking about the fans.
I'm not talking about myself.
This is not a Gordon tell us.
This is about a club like the West Tigers.
I went and offered Adam Reynolds and offered him 700 or 800 without.
No, no, I'm going to stay for 300.
Yeah, there you go.
So how does a fan, how does a fan expect that to happen?
Do you think Gordon?
Do you think the club more attractive to go to?
Ready.
Do you think this?
Please.
Every player goes for money.
And I'm going to call bullshit on you now because Reynolds is with the Australian side.
The only thing they spoke about for four weeks was money.
What about Tina on the gold code?
Only thing they're talking about.
Tina started the gold money.
That's money.
Was that a money decision?
Tina's our highest paid player.
I know he's on a lot of money, Tina.
Tina's our high paid player.
And he's our most support player, right?
Yeah.
That's right.
Right?
And like then, I get that.
That's what.
That Campbell, Jamie Campbell could've got more money and Perth?
Absolutely, absolutely.
At the end of the Gold Coast.
Yes.
Probably 300.
I don't even know more.
But we don't have third parties either.
There's obviously third parties.
Brisbane have bigger third parties.
So we can talk about being hunt on the cap might be.
But there's third parties.
I'm just talking about the fears.
Right?
So I sit on planes and I go and I'm, and then over there in Vegas.
And when you sit in you talk to the dragons fans and all that.
That's what they ask me.
If it, good, if you said the dragons fans now,
don't know, but when they sent Hannah Reedy.
Then being dollars reading.
Do you think Brisbane are upset that they, do you think Brisbane are upset they lost
Paine House?
Yes.
But do you think that there has been something going on in the background for longer than
12 months with Mitch Barnett and Brisbane?
No, not that I know of.
Well, they didn't know Paine House was going to go.
Well, I don't know.
I think when it all go, I didn't think Brisbane.
If Brisbane were to keep, if Brisbane were to keep, that's a pretty, no, I'm asking you
a question.
What's so Brisbane?
Yes.
They keep paying.
Well, if they were, why didn't they pay him offering, because you're saying the offer
was low?
No, but you're saying you said it was a low offer?
No.
I'm saying the initial offer, I'm not understanding, is South Sofford more than that.
So what in Brisbane paying?
What is work?
I mean, the Brisbane offer was low.
I mean, South has gone.
How much?
So what do you think it is?
How much?
How much?
Well, at least one, two with a ratchet.
Okay.
So what in Brisbane offering that?
I don't know.
Brisbane's so-and-a-kept situation.
I don't know.
But what with Brisbane paying?
Gordy, I don't know.
They believe it was close to one.
You know why?
It's not about the money, because it's not about the money.
It's not about the money.
It didn't go to open market.
He went specifically to South Sydney.
He's not about the money.
It's not about the money.
Because he went to play for wine.
He went to play for wine.
So then there's not about the money, so there's something else going on in the background
because this situation doesn't add up.
Jimmy.
There's no...
I don't know if that's really about money.
I just think that argument is shut down, because if it wasn't shut down, it wouldn't
have been shut down.
Yeah, man.
There's Sydney rooted.
You can't say money with proof.
I know that.
You can't say money with roosters.
The management would have gone to the Bulldogs, they would have gone to the Sydney Roosters.
I know that as well.
They spoke...
You can't say money with proof.
Bulldogs.
The Bulls spoke to pay-in-house.
The Bulls spoke to pay-in-house.
He got...
He spoke to me previously.
I'm not...
I'm not having it because this story would have leaked.
It came from nowhere.
It came from nowhere.
It did come from nowhere.
Well, I made his agent on the Friday.
So they're thoughtful.
Can I do something if it's money-ready.
If it's money, right?
really, really, if it's money, right? And my name's Payne has just make, can you
listen to me right? I'm not saying it's purely money. Can you listen me? And I'm
paying ass. I'm putting my hand up and going, I'm open. I'm telling you the best way
to come in the best. Yeah. So it wasn't about money. I didn't say it was purely about
money. A series of events or a specific event that has triggered this because of the
short time frame. And you know, the Ruby League rumor mill is right and we don't know what
to believe. And it's irresponsible for us to talk about rumor and innuendo. But for
me, there is, if you paint in the picture, if you're piecing this together, if you've
got your Inspector Gadget, Ion, you go, something's happened here. You're talking about your
term of the culture, right? That's, look, that's the room that we've all heard the suggestions
that this has got something to do with Morgan. And as well, really, sorry, let me just
back this up. This is not the first time that the superstar forward and the Michael McGuire
coached organization has looked for the door. You're talking about Sam Burgess. I am not
just Sam Burgess, Ben Teo as well. Yeah. Yeah. As I said, I'm sure the allure of playing
under wine as opposed to match as part of big. He's had the Lord before. This is not
the first time that pain has had a contract up for negotiation with the Brisbane Broncos.
He was there. That's not he been there. Exactly. So that's not much of a point. Since Wayne
left Brisbane and gave pain has his debut, he moved to South Sydney, right? And then he
moved to the Dolphins. Pain has under that time frame has been off contract. And at no
point did he go, I want to get out of the Broncos, because I've got to go. No, he did.
No, he never left. He was going to leave and can be convinced he would stay. Exactly.
He was going to leave. So he didn't. He didn't leave multiple on a number of occasions
in that time frame. The pain has could have left the organization because he wanted to play
with Wayne. That didn't happen. Then therefore that indicates that something has happened.
The Broncos hat that I put on is like, if he's going to be the greatest front rower and there's
Glenn Lages, there's Shane Weepie, there's Petro. If he's going to be it, you can't lose him.
And if it's for a hundred K and you've got two 36 year old halfbacks that didn't finish the
grand final, one of the, I'm sorry, mate, you get tapped. You get tapped. Well, they're both of
contract the end of the year anyway. I know. I'd be stunned before. Orenna is your child. He's coming
out of the job. You're having lots to play on. I'm on Brisbane. Ben hunts 36.
Jesus. Let's not forget. Pain has has been this club, the Brisbane Broncos, when they would
wouldn't spoon. Yeah. He didn't. Jimmy, I understand all that. And I know it. Look, as I said,
we've all heard suggestions. It's got something to do with match, right? That he does, no longer
wants to be coached by Michael McGuire. He's denied that. It's not that nobody wants to be coached
by Michael McGuire. No, he doesn't want to be coached by Michael McGuire. I said, now he's
denied that. Right. So, okay. Well, you're taking the face value and we move on. And if you're
willing to believe that and be any play, there's no player in the NRL that signs for another club
and Badnaz, they're pretty good. No, there isn't. It just doesn't happen.
No, I don't think so. So, it's up to us to, it's up to us to, to discuss and debate and educate
all of this. There's on what has in my, in my opinion, in my view, from what I understand,
there's not just one thing that's driven him to South Sydney. And yes, the coaching is part of it.
Well, has it been a tipping point? There's no, well,
did you take one? Are you getting at the pre-season, Jimmy? There's, there's guests in the
pre-season camp. Did you text Wayne, please, don't put him through Army camps?
There's Wayne still, there are me camps. I think you don't. I doubt it. I doubt it.
There's camps. There's a story going around. You've heard the story. You've heard the story.
I haven't heard it today. But there was an army, there was a camp held and pain had a
gut fall of the camp and raised, raised concerns about it. Right. I put that on his agent.
His agent said that specifically didn't talk to that issue, but spoke about marriage.
And specifically, specifically said, he doesn't have an issue. Look, if people want to talk
about training hard, working hard, no one in the game works harder or trains harder than pain
hours. Yes. Hard work has never stayed in a house. I know. And I'm with you. Hey, I'll hold
my hand. I'll take you to my time at pre-season. Not, not many people could, could match it with
what I brought in terms of, I'm willing to work hard, but you know what? There's times I cracked.
There's times I cracked. There's some times you're angry. And it does, it does it down to
flogged. And you could make a strong case to say the fact that the, the, the, the person that's
willing to work the hardest cracks shows what it shows what it's all about because he's likely the
person that needs it the least. And it's about how you treat players, how you treat the group,
like do you treat everybody equal or do you, or do you make, or do you make allowances? Because
you, we came here and watched Brisbane Broncos against the Pemner of Panthers. And I, I watched
Paine House in about 55 minutes and thought, get him off for just four sets. He was on the, he
played 80 minutes. It tore out. He was playing, he was playing here. And it was no patch of
carrot. He looked completely shocked to pieces. He put everything on the line that day to get
what you were just doing. And then the same, same in the ground. They'll take you more
for it every week. Couldn't it give any more? Right. And when you go to these types of camps,
you know, players, players do, some people need them, some people die, right? It was the middle of
summer. I come back. I reckon, I reckon Paine has the type of player. You could say, come back to
me in midfab. And you know what? It'd be the best player on the, it'd be the best player on the
ground, ground one. On two weeks. I'm going to give up one of these secrets. I live near a footy
field. It was really hot one day. So I haven't got my beer fridge and jumped in the pool. And I looked
over down on a bottom field where it would be even hotter. And I saw a big guy going through some
really tough stuff in his pain. Right. This is on his own. On his own. Right. So like, there's no
doubt that that he works really hard. So he gets himself ready to be the best teammate possible.
So those guys generally, you're, you're, you're breakable. You're still, you've still got a
capacity when we think this is absolute overload. Whether it's fair on you or not. We agree with
what really should at the start. The real truth or whatever it will never come out. Like, you know,
because, you know, just, no, but Paine, but Paine's given a video that he loves Michael McGuire.
Imagine said that. I heard David McGuire, the hurt, the hurt, the hurt, the hurt goes, it's
dear about this. And I did not say, I'm going to come and pick you up to manage it and drive to
the airport with him before they went to England. So they, well, they did, they did a ride together.
But I did, Dave Rickier, Dave Rickier's theory about this yesterday, which I, I heard that.
I didn't mind that that why, why didn't Brisbane just straight away when it happened? They've
gone in here and I come across and Paine House and do a press conference there. And then
the message message. Okay. So the one to message message was the one to make sure that
that came out the right way for the club and reflect the well on the club. That's why Matt
his phone bill would be like this. But, Gordy, we've all, we can all look, I've been a critic of
Mag Mag at times over the years. When he was at the West Tigers, I said, when he was at the West
Tigers, I said, oh, the heel loop Brooks had to go, right? There wasn't working. And we can
argue about Magist, methods, methods. But that's his coaching a bit. Magist's not going to change.
I'm going to tell you something. He's never going to change. You know, what's the
comp's? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. South, listen, uh,
South was ready. Greg, South was ready. We're ready. Brisbane were ready. They were four minutes away
from beaten penreth, right? And I'll argue till I'm blue on the face. You put ten other coaches in
Brisbane, and I reckon they win that comp, right? Take Kevin Wilder's name out of there.
You put other guys in there. I reckon that side pretty much last year, because you know
who won it? The bloke that wears number one. And without his last four weeks, without his
last four weeks, no one wins that comp. Number 10. Yeah, right. But like they played
late for the last five years. But it's on me. I get it. I get it. I get it. But you look
at them. And without Reese, OK, do they win that grandfather without respulsion? Probably
not. No, there you go. There's your in. So this is why I think we all go, well, things,
you know, things of obviously start to pull in this year. Brisbane, it could go pear
shape. It wouldn't shock anyone. We're not taking away the fact that make them
acquire the head coach of the Brisbane Broncos when they won the competition last year.
That said, it's clear for me that there has been an issue with the retention of the best
front row that has arguably ever ever lived. We're taking a break. I walk back to the Sunday
Semby. We're live from Suncorp Stadium. It is raining here ahead of the Dolphins taking
on Saturday. Daniel, will you call Sunday Semby in Jammer, Gordy, Breadread, Ben Dolvin.
You're right, mate. Just play this is what we do. We fight, then we love. It's like a
marriage. You know, that buzzers being like right and columns for 50 years. He did one
year with us and had to retire. Gordy retired him. Gordy retired him. Gordy retired him.
It's really trying to help us play out. James Graham, who is it this week?
I'm going to go Ethan Sanders and his ability to get that feel goal, but we spoke about that
earlier in the show. I would like to highlight much official Liam Kennedy in that game as
well. For making the call in the dying stages to give the penalty to Manly, I thought that
was a tough call to make. The scrutiny around that. Canberra players clearly offside, but
it's one of those moments that is often missed by the match officials, so Canberra excites
well, full of desperation to try and block that feel goal. Kennedy's got plenty of things
to be thinking about blockers, interference, all that sort of stuff. There was a big call
from him to award that penalty and basically make the game go into extra time, but Ethan
Sanders, what a what a what a game for the Canberra does he have. He was very, very good.
I would have liked to have spoken to him obviously we weren't able to, but he is it's
the future. What we said. It's interesting. You know, they've got Kaby Black down there
as well. Ricky's got depth everywhere. I mean, even look at the nines. Owen Patti was
you know, he's got Staling Patti, Braille, you know, like that. He's building a watch. He's
down there with, you know, I've done a good job, haven't I? I think with their recruitment
with where the games going, you know, I mean, like certain, certain sides want to play certain
styles, but I think Ricky just and his staff, they go out there and work out what they need.
I think it's it's like it suits them. And you know, what they're going to play their
stole a footie. And he's he some try to play Melbourne or big or whatever it's made.
The Raiders are going to play their stole a footie and they're going to back it and then they've
got the roster to do it. Yeah, well, I liked that nice first up. Thanks. You've done well.
We are at Suncourt Stadium. The Ravido Stake on the Dolphins court. He's just rattled
me. He's would have. Listen, I don't know if it happened. Yeah, well, I just, yeah, always
at the Dolphins, right? Yeah, well, and then the fridges full of food and drinks.
And then it was this little black tub full of Milton Mangas.
I brought it in here for after the game. We can't be sharing it with print media.
Oh, I agree with that. What do you mean, really? What do you mean? Shane Webby loves it when he's
calling a Dolphins game. That's all I'm going to say. I'm on a bad show. I haven't heard
Charlie's doing dry 74. I'm doing a month. Yeah. I'm really. Yeah. Well, after your performance
on the Monday night, you should be doing your mother of all reports. Are we going to know
before it? Here it is. Ready, smile. Read about it. Read about it.
Readies, male. We like, we like to watch the bars, but Readies, male, it better deliver.
No, but you brought up Vegas just then when you're referred to my Monday night. Look,
I think you're in a role making the season the next week or so. So in the next four teams to go
to Vegas, you can lock in Melbourne and paramount of that. We'll definitely go to Vegas. Yeah.
And producer Charlie, he got some male. His mouth's normally pretty good. But his
mouth was at the West Tigers and dead. Certain is to go. I'd look, I hate to do it. I hate
that he did. I hate to say this, but I'm not sure that's correct. Right. I don't want to cast
the spursons on Charlie's male because he gets good male. Well, that would mean that that would
mean that the Dolphins and the Titans will be the two sides going. My gut feeling here's the
Charlie and the chocolate. Well, Gordy had known the Titans. How the Titans placed Gordy?
What do you think? Confident. It was mentioned. I'm sure because remember over there we had
because the puzzles have been very, Rebecca's been a very concept. Yeah. Well, it's, well,
like they've been there every year. Yeah. And they're still there. They're actually there in
New York, but with my wife. But yeah, I think that the Titans have probably put their hand up and
I'm pretty sure that they had meetings. I was, and that was where we went. We went to the
Frasor Anthony LaFranque over there. Yes. And Steve Mitchell. So it's in those guys hands.
Yeah. See, I spoke to Beck on that day. And she said, she said that they were very confident.
And if you talk to Terry Radio, Terry Reader is like, they believe they're going.
Well, it's good. Right. She's having the NRL have the power. So there's five clubs right.
And you would think that it could be two Queensland and two Sydney or like, you know,
or it can be Melbourne. And then would you take the bears there? Would you take the bears there
to open a my way in the world? Well, generally, they got a, you know, they got to leave.
They got to leave a big Queensland club. They got to leave a big Sydney club
when the bears go. Yeah. When the bears go.
Well, that means they'll bring the Bronx back. The Bronx will go for a second. Anyway,
if you're a red cliff go, it'll be Tigers Titans and parents. If you're a Tigers fan and you're
about to book a ticket based on Charlie's mail, more suggestions will be just high.
Don't just talk for a week. Don't knock the boss. Just be patient. But I fear the Tigers may have
to wait until next year. Okay. Right. Oh, that's it. Speaking of the Tigers, Terrell Maid. Look,
I mean, he's had a really difficult offseason. Terrell Maid didn't play any preseason football.
Got a tip last week that he's been a couple of days in hospital. He had a staff infection. He's
knee. He actually was in hospital on Monday. He had a drip, came out, went home, went back in on
Tuesday, had another drip to clear that infection up. I spoke to the Tigers late this week. The
very confident Terrell Maid will be fit to play in obviously the first game of the season,
round two against North Queensland. They expected to be back at training this week. Terrell Maid,
but he's just had a tough offseason. Terrell Maid. As I said, didn't play any preseason 40,
spent a couple of days in the hospital last week. But the Tigers are very confident that he will
be right for game one and he's crucial for them because he's a player of the year. I went very
close to playing Orange in the last year. He's an integral part of that 40 club. To the point
that they, I think he's got two years left from his contract and they're about to resume contract
talks with him over an extension. Did I read that deal? That went quiet after Rich O'Left. Was that
did he do that? Rich O'Left was in talks with him with his agent. Dave Rawlings about an extension.
When Rich O'Left, those talks went silent. I think Terrell came out last week and said,
look, I haven't heard from anyone and those talks are now about to resume again. I expect Terrell
will stay because he enjoys playing under Benji and he's been really good since he's been
there. His brother's there in Thailand and apparently Thailand's an amazing, he's been an amazing
trainer in the offseason. So I would expect Terrell will extend at some point and he's expected
to play him round one. So that's good news for the Tigers. I started round two because I was on
a drip last week too. Do it. I'll be honest. Do you get one of those B12 shots, Gordon? Yeah,
like those. Well, because you know, we walked through the cosmopolitan cycle where we were staying
in Fox. So we we shot up on level three thirty. Yeah. And there was like one of those IV,
where you go, Sid, it was like 250 bucks and you got. Do you have one? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
They got a couple of minutes at the end of the end. Yeah, no, they help you at the end. Did you
have it at the end or during the? Yeah, I had it at the Friday before the Saturday, before the
big broadcast. And I needed one Monday Tuesday Wednesday when I got back because then because then
my Saturday night. You get in here. Yeah, you get in here. Gordon, you're doing that here. Yeah,
because I don't like sitting and drinking a lot of water. So if you know, then just go get.
I just get to sugar hit. Oh, there you go. Um, Mitch Barnett, Mitch Barnett, you're a great friend,
Peter Bedell's just dropped a story that the Brisbane offers two years, one point five million dollars
double. Um, look, Brisbane at the head of the Q to sign, Mitch Barnett, I think. And what
double in the break said, magic's been told me for 12 months. Well, they're friends. He casually
with that. They're Norwegian. They're origin. They're origin. They're origin. They're all right,
much. I think I think I think I think we'll end up in Brisbane. That's, that's, I think
Brisbane are very confident that they're going to get him. But like then, the excuse he used,
I thought he'd have to go back for closer to his family. Well, what's interesting is the
nights are interesting. The dragons are interesting. Paramount, apparently, Paris is interesting.
Males are interested in Mitch Barnett. So it's got plenty of options, isn't it? Sydney,
I'm not sure. They sound like a Thompson. I'm not sure they have the cash all of for him.
Jimmy? Not sure. Okay. Don't know. It is interesting though, like how the warriors were
sort of playing happy families around, you know, releasing Mitch Barnett for obvious,
you know, personal reasons. And then 24 hours later, they, they'd change to say, well, you know,
after the news of Brisbane leading the queue that they were going to require a place.
Cameron George was pretty confident in what he said. And then was very clear, he was like, okay,
Mitch is going to come to us about which sides that he likes. And then we're going to look at
if there's something in that club that we want. And then if that's the way, I know that's what
Cameron George is saying. I know. I think it's a tough job when you've said, yeah, we're going to
release him for compassionate reasons. And then 24 hours later, you go, but we want something
in return. Well, I think you've almost made your bed a little bit when you say you were,
we'll release, we'll release him, there's compassionate reasons behind it. You can't then turn, well,
I don't think it might, my view. But then the player can't say that I want to get close to say,
like, then that's a two-way street, right? You can't say, I want to go closer to home. So I'd get
to North Queensland and I go to Perth. Yeah. See, this is my, you know, my, my, my, my, my, my,
other issue, it's a issue, it's a bit like the paramedic situation with Zach Lomax, right? And
they say, we want a footy benefit out of it. New, the Warriors say, we want a benefit football.
That's what they're losing because they're losing a football. They also get about seven, eight hundred
grand salary cap space that they can use to sign someone down the track. Someone paramount of turn
around, but they did a deal and they got the bloke that they want. And understand what you're saying.
We have no football benefit out of it. You do. You clear a men's salary cap space. But that
plays not out there. That plays not out there. I know. I understand what? Great point because
Brisbane just lost pain ass. Go find pain ass. Well, you know, let's go find him. But they get
the spot. My point, but they may sign Mitch Barnett, Gordy. And that's not the same. That is the
team. That's the team. It might help. It might help. It might help. It might help. Keep gamut. It might help.
I'm keep gamut. My help. I can't. I can't. Well, let's go back. I can't put Mitch and I love Mitch
Barnett. I think it's not. He's in the same class. Well, you just said that. No, I'm saying they're
able to sign Mitch Barnett with that money. If they sign Mitch Barnett, they'll be able to,
that gives him space to keep gamut, sugar, sarke, because he's on 165,000 at the moment.
He's going to, he's going to wander. They didn't upgrade him after last year's
grand final. No, plain origin. No, probably got. They did not upgrade him. Got another year
of ones out. Well, he might get 500 years. They probably got to upgrade Pat Carrigan. He's
out, brother. And pain going. He helped Pat Carrigan's comments that he wouldn't be open to
talking about PNG. This is the thing. We talk about Michael Jamis and the taxary money. Pat
Carrigan's come out and said he would look at PNG. That's a very real player would. And that's
what we were talking about. So when I said earlier in the show that players were talking about it,
right, because that's what they were talking about. They spoke about R360 most times because it was
often it was fresh and it was hot and they were there. And then obviously the boys were talking
about Perth. And then Peter Valle and he's coming for dinner one day and Munster was being his
cheeky as Munster can be. I'll stop. I'll make this and stop offering me that much money. Peter,
I can't, you know, we just walked in and it was sort of funny in a way. But then they spoke about,
you know, what would it mean? How do you get the best players? What's happening? You know,
and then and a lot of the questions were about PNG and what would happen with families?
They had young kids. So the players were interested. But then it comes down to the money.
One last one, Rob Tours should be back for the roosters this week. We're going to talk to the
roosters. I can't remember Gordy. He hadn't drew it in some description. He hasn't started well as well.
Should be back this week. We will talk about the roosters. We're going to take a break.
It is a rain soaked afternoon in Brisbane. We've had rain over the last 24 to 48 hours,
which we will when we preview this match will change the way that this game is played.
Daniel will be your core. Roosters beaten by the Warriors in round one. And I know a lot of critics
are coming out and obviously looking at it. They shouldn't criticize the roosters. They should
praise the way the Warriors played. Yeah, and look, I've got to be honest with you. I was a little
bit annoyed by some of the commentary around Daly Cherry Evans and his performance. I mean,
it's one game. Was he good? One game. Oh, I'm going to defend that. Oh, look at Lixie,
more of these stuff, eh? All right. Whoa. Oh, I agree with you. He's not a
set in your old kid. I agree with you. It was one game. But the precedent has been set on how
we judge new halfbacks at clubs because I'll take it back last year with Lockheed Galvin
as a teenager when he come to the dogs and two players moved on or two players were moved in
that spine because of him coming to the locker. Galvin won a premiership.
The precedent has been set. Lockheed Galvin was bagged from pillar to post. Was spoken about
how he's upset this spine. We've got read monies on the bench. Toby Sexton's gone.
DC moves to the roosters. And hey, I'm with it. He should be given more time. Stop the fight.
Stop the fight. He's got no comeback. Look at him. DC. Arms across. DC on Friday night.
Meeks two. Two. Two. Two. Two try causes. One on his outside, one on his inside. I can remember a game.
Bulldogs played against Pembroke Panthers. It was eight six. Lockheed. They only tried to hit
Galvin. It was him, Harrison. It's how we compare. It's how we compare. It's a 19 year old kid with
a bright future ahead of him. Daily charity. Daily charity haven't just best days are behind him.
I don't know. And you're defending him. You should have slumged. I am defending him. I think
I think he judged him. He will be judged in September. That's when he'll be. Galvin then Jimmy.
My dad always told me. Don't argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and they beat
you on experience. But are you saying this day's aren't behind him? This 37. But hang on.
I'm saying I'm not judging Daily Junior Evans after one game. I'm not. That's what we do.
I'm not. I'm not judging you. I'm going to wait and see as this season plays out. Charlie,
mate, we've got to clip that up. He's best year. Why can't he have a good year ahead of him?
Why can't he have an elite year? What's the watch him last year? Yep. You watch the side that he
was with. Did you watch it? Did you watch him last year? Yes, I did. He got dropped from origin.
I had to think of the way he played. Probably not his best season. His 30s. He just turned 37.
All right. He can get right in what you want. He left little seeds. He has been an amazing footballer
for a long time. Premiership player. You do origin cap. You do not get better at 37. You did not get
better at 37. Exactly. So he should be held to a higher standard than what a 19-year-old kid.
Well, the combination. The combination. A 19-year-old wall to get better at a person that is
captain, Queenson. Hey, and you're a gender. You've got with them. I've got none. No, I have
tied you early. I agree. I agree. I can send or whatever at the dragon. They got carved up.
And then the dogs that are under the spotlight. No, are you blaming the rooster's performance on
daily cherry events? I'm saying it should be highlighted to try causes. One on his inside shoulder,
one on his outside shoulder. Like I said, last year, parent of Panthers beat the dogs 86. Nathan
Cleary charged down a kick, right? Not a galvan kick. But oh, no, it was his fault because he missed
the tackle that led to the line break that put them in that position. He didn't galvan play well
last week. Invite us to do very well. For me, he was the man on the match. The best way on the
top. First up was good. I used to say that Daly's above critical analysis. No, I'm not. But I'm
just saying it's one week. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I said
he's a premiership halfback and I believe it should be given more time. We should wait. But that's
not what we do. That's not our industry double because the precedent has been set. That is how
we treat our half bucks now. You got one game to prove yourself, Paul. That is it. We are done.
That's what we want him to draw. We church. You want him to say that? Well, that's you got one
game to prove yourself. He didn't prove yourself. He wanted to draw. But he could be under the same
mic as it goes as you're putting everybody in. I'm not putting anybody in the story. I said I
could be throwing it. I wouldn't. I'm not panic stage. Keep it up. I'll put you in the
matches class. No one saying that. No one's saying there's panic stations. No one's saying there's
panic stations. No one's saying that. No one's saying that. If that's what we're saying is
that Daly Cherevans had a poor game on. And if that's what he called me finished the year
well said the only one said the only one had a poor game. It wasn't double. If that's
what he galvan, they're saying bring who who goes to follow. Imagine it was lucky girl. Why would
why would let why would let Sandin Smith go? Why have we let Sandin Smith go? Hang on. Oh my god.
He comparing Sandin Smith as saying that in him and Cherevans are equal. No, I'm saying Sandin
Smith. I'm saying Sandin Smith and Toby Sexton could be equals. Yeah, well, they're both not at
the rooster's are they? One was at the rooster's or one was at the ballers both made way for two
different players coming in. Yeah, good. You guys. I was sitting on the bench for a people
calling for a you guy to come into the team. It's why I have at the top, right? You can't that's
for that's a ridiculous commentary. But the fact is he didn't play well. The jury's out whether
this is going to be a success or by him. It's not. It's not. If he's told me to say that.
If he's still in the same comes. You can't say that Ben. You can't say this. It's not a
we work. If they get the new president when a premier should you press that's going to be just
the new precedent has been set. If you're going to treat a 19 year old kid like that,
then the former captain of Queensland who's 37 gets equal treatment. I'm pleased we've got this
up. We're taking a break. Someday, Sidney, Ben on Triple A. Welcome back to Triple A.
Someday, Sidney, Ben, Brad Reid, Gordon, Dallas, James Graham, Ben Dolman, live from
Suncorp Stadium about an hour 45 to kick off. South Sydney taking on the dolphins going to be an
absolute beauty. That one. Been raining in Brisbane. But dang it ain't. We'll be your call for
that one. Well, it's time to talk with Titans. There's granola sharks yesterday started their
campaign at Shark Park. Did it very nicely put 50 on the Titans. And I don't know where to
where to begin. What I will say is that the sharks have put their hand up. They'll be judged.
Obviously they've got to take penance on this weekend. But they're one of the one of the strong
front contenders. But I think I think everybody was a little shocked by the Titans performance.
Yesterday, Gordy, as an owner, that's the word shocked. I wasn't disappointed. I was shocked. I
it'd be worse if we were bad in one area. We were bad in a lot. Like I thought, energy we got
beaten. I thought our attack was down. I thought our defence was down. And the thing was like we're
in a group. And I just I didn't see it coming. I thought. And then it just reinforced to me
that trials are trials. Because Melbourne 4212 and I thought we showed signs the week before that
there were signs. A couple of our trials in the lower grades. We've just showed baby steps moving
forward. And to me, that that performance is a bit like you just rolled in the bin. It's a bit like
paramedic. Just rolled in the bin. Paramedic won the comp. We were second. We were five offloads
away from winning the trials. Right. And the two worst performances of the of the opening round.
I've been paramedic and the Titans. The Titans. Okay. Can I throw a devil's advocate here for a
little bit? But Josh and I Josh and I had to clear the decks. Right. You know, they had a huge
James Graham had us come in 16th. I think that really knocked the boys confidence. Is that right?
There we go. James Graham. We pinned that up on the lock. Look at that. And that's on your podcast.
You Charlie. So that's it there. He's a hard one. And yeah, I'll say this opponent, Jimmy.
Sorry, Gordon. No, mate. It's just shattered our confidence. And Charlie just had my,
well, he was right. So mate, the boys met. We were up after the trials. James Graham said,
we're going to end it just dropped it. But can I ask you this? Can I ask you this?
Give me my number one spot to hold. Yeah. Well, I don't think so. Hey, hey, hey, hey,
that's not really ready. Ready, ready, ready. Get ready. You know that I don't walk away from the
battle. And I'm in for the long. Gordon, can I ask you this? I've got to be honest with you.
No, I went down with it. I went down and I've spent some time with the Titans in the off season.
What they are building there is going to have long term success. But would it be fair to say this
year? I think you had five wins last year. And eight wins season this year will be a success.
No more. You need more for a success. No, no, no, no, we, we, we, we, we're not losers, right? So
like the thing is, I've been at the club now just around for like 10 years. It's the best
five I've had, right? They've worked really hard like that. And every club's bigger fit is stronger,
right? So like, I understand the noise coming out of every club. But where I've watched this
club get to, I know that we've moved forward. Like, and I, and I can say that after just sitting
there hearing it and I know where we're heading. But that was a, that's not a massive setback.
That was just the performance that I don't know where it, I don't know where it come from. But
we've got great coaching staff there now. And they'll put their finger on it. And you know what?
I think the players alone, the players need to own it. They went against Craig Fitzgibbon. We took
their coach, right? And Craig, that might have been their motivation. He's going to know more about
you guys and I don't know how it all sort of worked out. But walking away watching it, you say,
I wasn't embarrassed because we were just so far off the pace. It's like when you're back
of favourite and it just doesn't even get out of the blocks. Yeah, that performance in isolation,
for me, it looked like there's some disconnected offensively, which will be a concern for coach
Hannah, but you know, outside looking into the organisation, it does appear to be a project that
is could yield results in years to come. But Gory, you as the owner, just like Malmunga when he's
talking about Perth Bayes, just like Michael Chambers when he's talking about the, the PNG chiefs
have to aim and talk up and aim high. There's no point in, in Gordon, that the Fisels, the Johns,
in total, you know, it's a bit of a project. The people that are out, the people that are making
the decisions, the people in the top box, the top brass, they have to be talking up, you have
to be aiming high. That's that's that's that's for me, that that's a big selling point. Well, I
told Rebecca for the 10 years ago when she bought the club, I said, I won't walk away from you
until you've won a competition. You're an only, you're not walking away every year, you know?
Well, yeah, you know, but now, but like then that's back in the day. So, so and then,
do you know what? I know that we're making strides and they're baby steps and it's a tough competition,
right? Brisbane, right? And I talk about them because it's the biggest brand, right?
Nine years between a drought, probably two million dollars and third parties for nine
years. That competition cost them 40 million dollars to win above the salary cap. It's hard to
compete. Right. That wouldn't spurn the Broncos in the first year later. They had six wins.
The next year they had and it's super competitive. Then every kid and I tell you what they got a
change. Gordon tell us growing up in Townsville that wanted to come and play in Brisbane. So,
that's so that's what we've got to do. Go get here. Well, you're doing that. You've got Todd
Carney. You've got some you and Scott Soutley. You've got Gold Coasters now involved and the
development and the respulsion. The pain has in the forfeiters and the savior coach. All those,
all those guys that are born on the Gold Coast, we want them to be a part of it and we yeah,
and there's a lot of work to do off the field and we're working really hard off the field,
but on the field, that's where everybody judges you and I know that we've got to be better
and I know that they will be better. That's the worry for me, Gordier. You can see the strides
have made and the impact Josh Hanna's club had on the club been making it more a warmer place to
be, a friendlier place to be than it was under devs. But you know, my worry is the squad's not
good enough and I know you're talking finals. Yeah, but there's only one thing you've got to
talk finals, right? You've got it because the worst thing I heard last week was Flano,
and we can't win the eight. We can't win the comp, right? I've never said that. I know. And nor should
you, but I think this side's, but they had to clear the next two years away from just they
can legitimately being in contention. They had to clear the next. I can't provide with signing
it. I'm not saying. Can't to be three seasons ago did exactly the same. That's from someone
to coach Charlotte. I agree. You know, Gordie. You know what? Better days were ahead. I'll
disagree with you. So watch us at our best and judge us on our best. That was our worst performance.
And I think that'll be our worst performance for the year. I hope it is, Gordie. So you judge us
on our best. I'll sit if it's not. It's going to be a long year. I'll sit with you like the day
after. But to be honest with you, be honest with you, Gordier, you just got to throw it in the
bin, right? That performance yesterday. No, they got to go and they got to own it, right? So you
got to own your warts, right? And there's a lot of warts in that performance. But then I know
that they will. I know where the organisation is at at the moment where making joints, strides
forward, right? And then, you know what? That was a step backwards. And that was a massive step
backwards, but on the least bit, but at least we're heading in the right direction. I hate this idea
of throwing it the same. People are the same. I'm a trying to throw it in the bin. I'm a
trying to throw that in the bin. We're not. But then that's just to keep you off the scent
really. Yeah, I think I'm going to like that. Mate, you know what? It's like every club that there's
no problem nothing to see here and Homer Simpson goes back in the portion. There's always something to see
and there's noise everywhere, right? But there's no noise going to come out and we're going to own it.
Yeah. And that's it. I'm a trying to stand, mate. I'm on board. That's the problem.
The membership team came to me and said, listen, have you heard of the Benjamin Dolman?
And I said, I have. They said he just become a member. And I went, shit.
Every club he jumps on. They win, mate. They win. But you're right, Bronx.
Good. They win. I don't know who else did it. Did it flush up? Why haven't we got a member that's
based out of Mossman? We've grown in New South Wales fanbase. We're taking a break Sunday,
see a bid on Triple E. And we are live from Suncorp Stadium ahead of the dolphins taking on the
rabbit oes, James Graham, Gordon Talis, Brent Read and Ben Dolman. And an interesting yarn
that in the Sydney Morning Herald, the Sun, the Sydney Herald Morning Herald, I don't know
what I'm getting all the way. Danny Wildler has read that story.
Okay. And I'm going to give you. I'm just going to give a little bit of context there.
That's an hatred call. A messy exit of Read Money from the Bulldogs last year was emotional,
controversial, but there it is also looks like things aren't amicable now. Obviously he joined
the North Queensland Cowboys this year on a three-year deal. Marnie made some remarks to Winger,
Marcelo Montoya, that felt very flat, not only with Montoya, but with the majority of the playing
group. It was brought to the attention to senior people at the club. And while no one
overboard in Vegas will publicly say anything, it is an open secret within the team.
This column reached out to Read Money and he preferred not to comment on the matter.
Marnie has a lot of public support because of the way he plays. So obviously,
he's just at the former club. He's former club. A bit like Spencer Lenu and
what's his name here for? We don't know what the comments actually are. There's obviously been
some fallout over the weekend now. It's not a fallout. It's just one argument. It's football, but I don't
know why. He's just told a bloke he's walked past. And since I'm, do you know what? Read Money
went off many. Yeah. Love it. Great for like really, really, really respectful. And Marcelo
Montoya is an unbelievably good bloke as well. Right. So can't you just leave it at that?
Two bloke's different opinions had a shot at each other in a bar in a night club with alcohol
involved. I mean, that's the problem. Maybe we all got to be frustrated over there.
Don't make it night. We all tied. You know, make me yourself. You're the one that ratted out of
my ears. That's not true, dog. But up in North Queensland, they are loving.
I love it. Absolutely. Yeah. Like, like, then loving him. I spoke to Todd Payton about it,
said he's been unbelievable. And culturally, what he's done there, now they got to win.
The last riff like this was the time Spencer Lenu was walking off here and reading
cornered him. Is there one more word, brother? Oh, sorry, man. I thought you got any
grills that they've spent through your listening. That's not the story. Wow. Yeah. But you
dropped it up. I'm very big guy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're on your pink jacket. And
it goes, maybe that's one. Any of this might have made a different gravy. I mean,
there's got a baby. It's happened. There's got to be. It happened. I mean, and obviously,
there is, there's no, there's no punches. There was no, like, look, you've got to remember,
in Las Vegas, and all the people out around in that post, all we were, we were actually,
nobody, nobody filmed it. Like, there was obviously not, maybe some. I'm glad they weren't around
when I was playing. My Broncos team mates just have a punch up every week.
Well, he's done. Sorry, not every week. It may be once a month. Yeah. Yeah. To the point,
no, people think I'm joking. To the point Wayne put a boxing match on at the league's club,
and we sold tickets on the boys fight in each other. No, man, I'm thinking you have to fight.
No, I didn't. Who'd Peter Ryan fight? Chris Johnson and Kevin. And Kevin, it worked together,
and they both lost. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Most of all the boys, Chris made all the boys have
a fight. They were all fighting each other. Made a major person. Lokes up thrown each up. Like,
it was, anyway, they're with the Barley and then Lotties into someone and Brat. Like, it was just
sitting you and Sean Berrigan have a scrapman in a pool. Yeah. Really? Yeah.
This has been cheeky. It's not a fight. You and Sean Berrigan, it's not a fight.
Well, it's sort of started away classes. You did warning that, didn't you? He said,
one more and I'll whack it. And then he go again. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Man, he kept on going. He's
good. But Berrigan is a terrorist off the field and on the field. Sean Berrigan.
I mean, obviously, you know, a couple, and I'm back into the couple of the players.
Really? That's the prize. Yeah. If they disrespect, I don't, yeah, I don't care. And like,
Genoa, everybody's got a button, right? And if you push it, get the consequences. It's as
simple as that. Or don't push their buttons. There's some people that just walk away and talk
and then walk away and walk away from it. And then some people just stand and say, say it again
and then it's on. That's the, that's right. Man, he has got forming stirring people up and being
a man. Did you see when him and him was at Jack Hedrington? Was that? Yeah. He was at him.
Hedrington six foot five and seriously and mad. And you wouldn't want to meet him
other dark alley, right? And they go off. And he's and he's still into him. Yeah. Maybe he's
passed a comment. Yeah. Oh, we don't know. We're with Marcel. We're with Marcel. I will
you in the night on the last night and and you were two and silly, silly, silly, stupid
us. And like we were, you know, and was that when it happened that night? Yeah, that night.
Yeah. So later on that night, maybe it's a nightclub or a whole bit, maybe at the old
Zook nightclub. It was a bike's name. Little John John. Oh, we've got to talk about this.
I went watch. You know, he was rejected because he didn't have I do. They wouldn't let him
into the nightclub because Rudy didn't have I do. I didn't have physical ideas. And I said, no,
you're a man. You know, I got my useful good look. You are an American icon millhouse.
Your millhouse. How can I knock you back? Oh, there was people. No, no, no, no, no, we're not doing that.
We didn't have a fence to it. I don't know whether they're new glasses, but you just
remind me so much of millhouse. Now, right, I read Marcelo, we need to break bread. We're
going to break, come back. This is the Sunday's a bit on triple. Let's talk,
Zach Lomax and obviously it can now is the biggest story, um, bar pain house, um, of the
offseason. I can't believe that people think that Zach Lomax has been hard done by that's
a, you know, I'm at an absolute loss. Yeah, the games moved on from that. It's just what we
moved from and like what we do now. Well, what what happens, Brent Reed? They've been
reading. Yeah, like does he go to rugby union? I mean, Joshua Swah Lee is out for two months.
The guarantars need it, you know, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, a center. Does he shine that way? Or does
another rugby league team come into it in the Melbourne storm aren't the front runners?
I'm not sure he's got a choice, though, because I don't think any other clubs have come in for him.
I don't think I think the sad part of part of this for Zach is his reputation has been
tarnished so much by the last couple of years that clubs aren't falling over themselves to
so on Zach Lomax. Can I ask who's fault that? Well, I mean, I, I look at this way. Go ahead.
You're here now. Yeah. He's got to take personal ownership, but I, I, I look at this way.
Here's the visors. I've got two jobs. Maximize his income and protect his image. And on both
fronts, it's been an abject failure because it's about to take a massive pay cut and his image has
been damaged like never before. I'd argue that there's more to the advisors role than that.
And it's about securing well-being as well. So I'll give you an example of myself coming over
here to play in the NRL. The peasant that looked after me said, we're going to go meet these clubs,
but we aren't, you're not going there. Why was that Dave, Dave, Dave Rale, are you? Why?
I'm not going to go there. No. He just warned me. He says, I'm not going to let you go there.
Right. Okay. So because he has well-being as well, it wasn't about just coming to the name.
But Jimmy, ultimately, he's ultimately, ultimately, he's a grown adult, right? And, and he's
going to accept them. He's going to accept the major part of responsibility because ultimately,
he's 27, 28. He makes the decisions. But I think, but this is the problem with people around him
who haven't looked after him. This is the problem with that. Can I, can I tell you the problem, right?
Managers go and they just say it's a deal, right? So what are they on between three to seven percent,
right? They go have meetings on your future. Players get told what their managers tell them.
Go and sit in there. And I didn't like it. And that's when I sat in there and I negotiated with
James Packer as a 20-year-old Phil Gould. That's when he called me a bench player. Go in there.
It is your future. It's actually your future. Go in there. Ask the questions. I don't, I don't
understand it. And then you go, oh, well, this is where I'm going or this. Like, players, take
some responsibility. Go in there and hear the truth. I just want to stop you quickly, just a little
bit of breaking news. The formula one down in Melbourne, Oscar Piaestry has crashed out of the
Australian Grand Prix on the way to the starting grid. You want to talk about a bad day. He hasn't
even started on the way. He has crashed out. What was that? Can we get that? I don't know,
but there'll be a lot of Aussies who have made a lot of money. You want to talk about going there
and pay a big week in to get in and watch these games. I'll be there. And just go co-pock there.
You know what? The NES. Co-pock there, mate.
Have you ever seen those videos on YouTube? I'm like co-pcos crashed in these geese.
Go, Oscar. Oh, officer, co-pock there, mate. So was that what we're doing in the warm-up?
Obviously, obviously they're doing a warm-up, but he's had a crash. That's going to obviously be a
big story and people keep up that. That's embarrassing. Well, it is. That's now the idea.
Actually, Nally is embarrassing as Matt Dunning, the rugby guy, and I love him, but I just like
using his... He was playing for the Warrows Tars, and I don't know why I was watching it,
but he come on as a reserve. By the time he run to the Ruck and Maw, he tore his calf.
It's almost... That's the bull's care to do that.
Embarrassing, right, you've got this segment that's bought you by a certain
way during company. I thought he was asked not to mention this. I thought you were asked not to mention it.
You're back, you've been told the move on. Listen, we're just not going to get...
Don't buy a company. I'll get you back on track. I think Lime actually
ended up in rugby union because I don't think he has a choice. We're just having a look at this
now of Oscar Vierstreet. He's gone there and...
Hey, Dobber, you know what? You know, your rugby league commentary is not very good.
Your F1 commentary is even worse because I reckon anybody is listening at home.
Oh no, yeah, he's gone there, and then he's gone there and the hole in his crust.
He was rolling up the tyres to the right, to the left, he spun out, and he's hit the left end wall.
All of you guys, he just hit the apex. Yeah, and then...
And then... Yeah.
Ah, that will be a story.
He's the way...
At the bottom of the car.
Go back to life.
He's the way.
The bottom of the bell.
You're on your last warning and it's week one. I'm telling you now.
You were warned before the show, there was certain things got to bring up, and you've been...
Listen, can I tell you something?
Yes, three of us are solid.
No, no, no, no, no.
He ran this week and said, he ran this week and said, you know what?
No, no.
I'm with you, Dobber.
No, no, no, no.
No, we didn't.
No, we didn't.
I may have fielded a phone call saying, saying, how are you with me?
I know, I was face-to-face, give me...
Hey, sorry.
Give me the credit, it was face-to-face, if I could do it.
General, I did 360 with radio.
Come again.
You wouldn't believe it.
The only thing he didn't do was buzzers, was he goes, he's come up to me already.
My, we've got to stick together.
And I'm like, and just the way that he did, I'm like,
God, he's got skin like a grape.
What's low back?
Well, as I said, I'm going for the fourth one.
I think he ends up, I think he ends up in rugby union because he doesn't have an option.
Will be Australian?
Well, I think so, Jimmy.
But where does he play there, though?
Because, suddenly, he won centre.
They've signed Crichton in the other centre.
Wing is Jorgensen's on one and then I can't recall who my mark will be.
Mark, Mark, of course.
Where's the space for Zach Lama?
Well, it's got to be, he's a good player.
Jimmy is a good footballer.
He'll make space.
They'll make space for him.
They're not standing for it, they're not standing for it.
No, they're not sitting on it, you're not.
Yeah, they're not sitting on it.
They're not sitting on it.
They're not sitting on it.
They're not sitting on it, they're not sitting on it.
The Fabric of their game.
They don't worry about that.
They haven't paid you as, Joe Swalee so much money.
More money than God.
He me.
That impacted the Fabric of their game.
But Leesie played their game as a kid.
And then, you've got Markey, Mark, that played their game.
If you just go get a guy, if you're the NRL do you not come into this situation say let's get him as our marquee for the Perth Bears?
Can I and put it put him on loan to and with paramount.
My understanding is Perth have no interest in Zach Lomax Jimmy because they're building a culture of that club and I believe he fits the culture of the football team.
Can I just try something out there right?
You hear about the dogs right? You got Galvin right and they say well Galvin is going to be number six.
They say he's only wearing the number seven temporary right?
So they got all those other guys or they're going to get a number seven but they had one in sexton but we've moved on from that.
Burton is there a chance that they won't put Burton at center because maybe Lomax might be a better center winger option and there's the trade with paramount of reading.
I like it Gordy. I actually think it's a good move for Matt Burton because I think eventually Matt Burton will be the centers.
I don't think it's realistic to have two centers which the bulldogs will then have on a million dollars a year.
They're both on about a mill right?
Yep. Brighton and Burton. It's not feasible they're two centers on a million dollars a year. It busses Salary Cap.
So I think that's why there's a lot of focus on Matt Burton potentially at some point down the track leaving the Bulldogs.
The idea of swapping him for Lomax or giving him paramount of Matt Burton for Zach Lomax I think is a no-brainer.
I agree with you. I think it's a smart move.
You reckon maybe it's a part generated here in a might haven't you?
Camus does Camus Ruel they want Zach Lomax here. It's just given...
What are the Titans have a lapidim? I'm being honest. I mean Gordy you're one of the owners.
We've checked that out. No interest.
This is the problem. Harvey Norman. This is the... No interest rating.
This is the problem Dobbo. Sorry.
His image has been tarnished so much. There's a lot of clubs...
Was that on him or the management? Well it's on both.
Is it not? So there's a lot of clubs that don't want to...
I said players need to go in there and take ownership of their own careers.
I want to see him back in the game.
Well I think as well if you look at the Bulldogs situation if he's going to play on the wing you've got Marcel Montoya.
And Jacob Carras they're like two lads that couldn't be more proud to wear that jersey.
That couldn't fight any harder for that jersey than that football club.
And you know we've spoken about how one signing can upset the apple car.
Look these way these words may come back to haunt me but I think with Marcelo and Jacob Carras
you better be a bloody good winger and fit into the culture if you're going to displace one of those two.
I think he does a two-year deal and right me and he comes back to Melbourne.
The Melbourne just paid $250,000 of his legal fees and got nothing out of it.
Except that...
They promised him that?
I know.
But Zach Lomax was the only beneficiary out of that because I'm paramount of a lint at one year of their control over him.
I think he goes to Rugby for two years and he goes to Melbourne.
Dan Gennay will be joining us in the next hour as we count down towards South Sydney and the Dolphins.
A big clash as well.
We have a new segment.
And here it is.
I'm so in love with you.
Is that it?
Wow.
I'll go with the productions of Macy.
But Charlie's just said...
We've got some production around here.
I'm so in love with you.
That's it. They've just taken a grab of the song.
Can we work on that over the next...
That's all we need.
Okay.
All right.
What we like about the game, the finish of the positive note.
James Graham will start with you.
I'm going to start with today's game and the return of Thomas Flegler.
Like, what a journey he has been on.
You know, I think there was quite concerns around the potential future of him and whether or not he could return.
Obviously, we saw him in the trials with that trying.
Yeah, I'm really excited for him playing this afternoon.
Alongside my old mate Morgan Knowles making his NRL debut for the Dolphins.
Good story.
Gordy or...
I'll go with your Brent Reign.
I'm going to go back to Thursday night.
And Sua Farlongo.
Yeah.
He was waited patiently for his opportunity to play Fallback from Melbourne Storm.
He was brilliant outstanding.
He's everything we thought he'd be.
And I'm looking forward to seeing that play 24 games.
Hopefully in the end of the year because he is dynamite baby.
When he saw him, he is unbelievable.
He is very good footballer.
He just shows stopper.
I'm going to go a little different.
Braden Trindall in love with the fact that he actually was given the side.
But more importantly, over the offseason, he realised that the hair was on the march.
That it was...
You know, he was holding on for Green Life.
Shut up.
This is not about me.
And that he actually decided to go bald eagle.
And you know what?
You know what?
He's football was outstanding yesterday.
I know it was a detriment of the time.
I made this nice one.
I'll let him know that.
He can grow the hair back.
Sixthest man in the world.
The last five years has been won by a bald man.
Really?
Who's that?
Jason Statham in the rock.
Yeah.
I got to think that I'm saying it.
I just thought he was very good.
Gordy, something you loved over the last week.
Genoa, I love our game going to the entertainment capital of the world.
To grow up and to be a part of rugby league.
But to go watch it where Elvis and all the biggest acts have ever gone.
And like I went and watched probably one of the greatest bands ever in the Eagles.
And YouTube played there and they have our game, Santa.
And we sort of take over the town.
Like we actually take over Vegas, which is pretty cool.
And then we come back here.
And I just think the way that the rest of the competition has gone to a new level.
It really has a lot of good teams won't make the eight this year.
We welcome in for the first time.
Dan Gidein, hello, my friend.
Excellent.
I didn't know we were ripping segments off the Sunday footy show.
But I can't know what it is.
What did I like?
That's how they start their show.
I did that.
Yeah.
Oh, I can never say that.
I can't.
Dan, Dan, Dan.
We've never seen that.
There's nothing on it.
There's nothing on it.
Is that on it?
Oh, I didn't go to it.
He's talking in my ear.
I'm thinking crosses.
Well, we don't see it.
Right?
Because we're always here.
No.
I like it.
You're being suspicious.
Well, hang on.
You blokes are talking about.
You talk.
That's a big word.
You talk about.
You talk about blokes having a blue in the pub after games.
That's good.
It is good.
Remember last year at the Orient,
when our former colleague James Hooper and Ben Dobin,
one of the great sprays of all time.
We never had a blue or we had a spray.
Yeah, gave you a spray.
That was a proper spray.
Can I just say this?
We love hoops, though.
No, and thank you for saying that,
because I'm just going out of my own here.
I know you blokes will agree,
but I'm just going out of my own.
He's done everything right since he stuffed up,
and he stuffed up big time,
and he was damn lucky not to hurt anyone.
He knows that.
But I just want to say that.
So good to see him back.
He looks great, too.
I mean, the stars are the stars.
I taught him to teach.
I taught him to teach.
He looked hard.
You told him.
I taught him to ditch the mose.
You better, you better with that.
Okay, you know what?
Let's do a bit.
You grow a mole and eye grammar.
I can't grow one.
Well, there.
We don't talk about that.
Who's taking fashion tips off you?
Fair.
Look at those boots.
It's supposed to be work boots.
They're clean.
You're going to get a turkey.
You said you were going to go to Turkey.
No, I said I was contemplating going to Turkey.
Well, that's usually it.
I was hot just at the way I am.
Just to get rid of the.
Come on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Get rid of one.
See what you start.
And you start it.
I'll just play with this segment.
What I like is the way he's handled things.
And it's not my.
I have no stroke here or triple M.
But I hope we're bringing back at some stage.
Yeah.
I think he's done his time.
Can you give me one?
No, you don't have to be on this show.
But I want to say is I just hope he's back in the fold
because we're a second chance.
We're a second chance sport.
And and he's earned a second chance.
The offseason not not long enough.
Dove to go to Turkey.
He needs at least 12 months.
I think everything sorted out.
Can I just say that'll be enough of your danger.
Can I just say this now international women's day.
I do want to give a shout out to all the women in our game.
And all the ladies in our lives.
But the sun is mum from the plane.
Okay.
Well, I mean that was.
I know he said all that on international ones.
And I would like to also say.
We were very saddened by the passing of Jamie Dunn yesterday.
Now we should have done it at the start.
Eat gaudy was.
Well, listen to that.
Jamie Dunn was the number one here for so long.
And I work with him.
He was probably number one for 20 years in radio to a point where they took him to Sydney.
Well, he was aggra.
Well, you know, that's it.
No one Sydney people knew him because he was aggra.
Yeah.
And he's.
I wouldn't never be in this position without him.
He.
Wonderful man dominated the airways like no other.
Very generous to the listeners and a very talented man.
Well said, Dan.
Thank you.
We're going to.
And it's good to have you back.
You're looking quite fit and healthy and you know, you had a good week.
Vegas treats Dan all right.
You know what I'm saying?
Actually, the footy trips are behaving self in Vegas.
Yeah.
Well, I have to because the guy, it's a long day.
You passed me three times.
Probably because I had a beer in one hand.
When was this?
In the other.
And by the way, I had lasted you on the Saturday night.
Yeah.
You went off the bed.
Yes.
That doesn't surprise me.
No, I can enter that.
No, no, no, no, because I think I know what you were doing.
And I don't want to do it.
It's a good thing.
I was still in America.
Yeah.
And she might have given me a look, then.
Yeah.
Okay, Dan.
Thanks for bringing that up.
Absolutely.
We're going to take a break.
We're going to talk a bit of football next.
