So their misses to leak weeks, powers the Golden Eagles past Texas State and into the

Sunbelt Corners against AppState.

Georgia Southern and South are playing, not going to tell you the score, but not only has

Georgia Southern not made a two-pointer, they have not attempted a two-pointer like halfway

through the first half.

All their points are from and shots are from beyond the arc.

They're just not even trying, it's hilarious.

We got baseball as well, Coastal Carolina tied the ball game up, they were ahead and behind,

had a chance to win it in the ninth.

They go to extra innings, it's tough to update games that are going to be final by the

time you guys see this.

But I guess we could put this out tonight, so we'll just pump this out with that live broadcast

that we did.

Everyone, 77, and what was a good ball game?

If we go back to halftime and I posted the halftime stats, I guess I didn't do a final

score.

I did the halftime stats.

And with Southern Miss leading 37-33, they did win 81-77, let's get that out there.

But Southern Miss outshot Texas State, 57-43 percentage wise, they both made 13 field goals,

but Texas State missed seven more shots.

And I'm trying to figure out where they came from because the turnovers are about the

same.

The rebounds were the same.

I'm just trying to figure out where that went because if you're shooting 57%, and the

other team is shooting 43%, how are you up by four?

Field goal, the threes were the same.

Southern Miss, actually, the difference was they made four more free throws.

And we'll get to that.

That was the key.

That was the entire key to the game.

So I'm not exactly sure because it was interesting how the statistics did not reflect the score.

Didn't make sense.

Southern Miss built an eight point lead.

And of course, here comes Texas State.

They go on an 11-to-1 run, take a 69-59 lead, think they took like a 62-61 lead.

And that was about it, 64-all, and Southern Miss lead are the rest of the way.

I'm going to admit it, I didn't see this one coming.

James, you was playing well outside of losing on Friday, coming into the tournament.

Arkansas State was playing well, coming into the tournament, both those teams have lost.

Southern Miss, as it turns out, has now won four of their last five.

And the one they lost, Arkansas State needed an 11-to-1 run to beat them, I believe that

was in Jonesboro.

Or else they'd be on a five game winning streak and they would have been a little bit hotter.

I would have noticed they would have been a little bit hotter coming into it.

Although, again, they played as well as anybody has played against South Alabama this season.

That was not a close ball game.

South Alabama is a very difficult team somewhere along the way, and we'll find out if it happens

with Georgia Southern.

The team will go cold for three, four, five minutes.

They just won't score a point.

And depending on how hot South Alabama is, they can pull the way, all right.

So that was, as an impressive win as Southern Miss has had all season, and that was just

a week ago Friday.

And it was in mobile.

As I mentioned on the live broadcast, a little confidence goes a long way.

And if you go through the Southern Miss scores, they either win by a little or lose by

a little.

They very rarely blow anybody out or get blown out.

It is interesting.

Again, we did that on the live broadcast, but they beat Texas State 8177.

The B. James Madison 8680, I'm going to count that 68 to 55 weight over South Alabama.

That's a blowout.

That game was not close.

All right.

They lost Arkansas State by five.

They beat Old Dominion by five.

They beat Troy, which is a very good win by four.

They lost by six to South Alabama.

They beat Kent by one.

They lost to Marshall by four.

They beat J.M.U. by eight, right?

They lost to happen and they have a bunch of, a bunch of close losses again.

They did get blown out by Troy 9165 and that started the, the, the, um,

um, tailspin of five losses in a row, but they lost to Texas State by seven.

They lost to Georgia State by seven.

They did get blown out by coastal, they lost to have state by seven.

So there's a couple of blots in there, but that's not, um, that is not, uh, Southern

Misses, uh, M.O.

It's just, it's just not.

So, um, they did a good job hanging on tonight.

All right.

They very easily could have gone in the other direction, right?

You have a nice lead.

You're controlling the ball game and almost done.

You look up with about six minutes left to go.

You're behind and give credit to Texas State.

All right.

Very good home team, not so good on the road.

They did beat South Alabama.

It seems to be a theme, uh, during those last four ball games in mobile.

Um, but they're tough.

They're tough out.

They're tough.

Um, but Southern Miss now is going to be playing.

It would be the, um, they're going to be playing for the third time in three days, right?

They beat J.M.

You.

They beat Texas State.

Now, they get app state.

Uh, that's going to be at, was it say 630, uh, PM Eastern time, all right?

That's not, is that right?

All right.

They got the, they got some times, not exactly, right?

Oh, maybe it is.

All right.

Maybe that is the right time.

Okay.

Um, so it's a six, it's a 530 central time, six o'clock, uh, Eastern time.

So that actually things started a little bit earlier tomorrow.

Uh, so they're going to have a chance to go to the quarterfinals.

Now they did lose to app state at home, 70 to 63, all right, but another close loss.

It was.

It did happen to be in Hattiesburg, all right.

So we'll see how that goes, uh, going over to the scoreboard or the, um, box score again,

to league weeks was outstanding.

32 points, nine of 18 shooting, the difference in this game again, the free throws.

Both teams actually shot their free throws extremely well, Texas state was 17 out of 20.

The difference is Southern miss 28 out of 37.

They actually missed a few free throws down the stretch that continue to allow Texas state

to stay in the ball game, but not to league weeks.

He didn't miss any.

He went 14 to 14, all right, Brumfield, six of six outstanding, those two guys, in fact,

made more free throws just those two than Texas state did, uh, as a team.

He was nine out of 18 from the floor, only shot one, three and missed it.

He was outstanding in 32 minutes, or I had 32 points in 36 minutes outstanding.

Did have some help.

Tavaris had 10 points, Brumfield had 10 points, uh, Benay had, uh, 10 points over for Texas

state, DJ Hall freshman of the year, 10 out of 18 with 11 rebounds, 25 points, five out

of six free throws and Mark drove 19 points, had a little bit of a slow start in the first

half.

But came on in the second half, seven out of eight from the free throw line, but Texas

state does fall short, 81, 77 and Southern miss will end up a playing app state, uh, in

the quarterfinals, Georgia Southern is playing South Alabama, and again, I could do what's

good to tell you to score because you're going to see this and it's going to be over, but

I am not a kidding.

It is amazing, Georgia Southern's, oh, they did it, field goals.

They have taken one two pointer.

They are 11 from 20 from the floor, 11 and 19 from three.

They're not even trying.

I'm not watching the game.

Obviously I'm doing this.

It's a close ball game, but I don't think I've ever seen that ever.

They're just not trying to go to the hoop.

There's a little bit of difference here, um, as usually as the case South Alabama is not

following and Georgia Southern is following South Alabama 9 out of 12 from the free throw

line.

Obviously, Georgia Southern, all shooting all jumpers, uh, has not, um, taken a free throw.

And South Alabama doesn't foul.

They've only committed three so far in this ball game.

All right.

The score right now, 33 left to go in the first half, might as well tell you, Georgia Southern

leads South Alabama 33, uh, 32, all right, uh, we'll do some sort of post game thing.

Maybe episode quickly, um, like we're doing now.

I do have a friend coming to town, which I have not seen in many of years and he brought

me a bottle of urban.

I'm buying the bottle of urban, but he was nice enough to pick it up a product that we

don't seem to get here.

We get every other product in Kentucky.

We don't seem to get that bottle.

So that would be a nice one to add to the collection.
