Survivors describe China-Nepal flash flood as 570 dead, 1900 missing

The combined death toll from the catastrophic Nepal-China border flash floods has climbed to 691 dead, with more than 3,000 people remaining missing, according to the latest official updates. The disaster, triggered by a glacial collapse on August 26, 2026, sent a massive wall of mud and water tearing through towns, villages, and infrastructure along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.
