El Paso Police gang investigators just arrested a 16-year-old boy for firing a handgun multiple
times into the air during a massive fight at a park behind Burgess High School.
The incident went down around 1 p.m. on Monday, April 13th, at James Jim Crouch Park in the
C.L.O. Vista neighborhood right off Viscount, Boulevard.
No one got hurt, but it sparked a huge police response and put Burgess high into lockdown
just to be safe, with the school district ramping up security.
Afterward, gang unit detectives have ID'd everyone involved, and they're still digging
deeper into what started the whole brawl.
This park even holds a memorial for victims of the El Paso Walmart shooting back on August
3rd, 2019, so it's hitting close to home for.
